the first and birdies so far today and here is well we can say the one to watch she has been all year hasn't she sometimes for different reasons but plenty of them have been good six wins already this season for the world number one Nelly quarter two consecutive rounds of 68 she's done that twice this year both time she went on to win she is in a commanding position going into the weekend I'm just trying to stay very present and not think about anything other than you know one shot at a time and whatever you know Golf and linkx DOL throws at me I'm going to take it head on yeah I think when the conditions are a little tougher I mean expectations and golf you know Norm in a sense normal golf is thrown out the window and you're just trying to play the win during a tournament you're never going to have your aame throughout all 4 days it's about just kind of adapting with your BNC game as well but today hit it really well and it kind of feels really nice when it all clicks and it all goes where you're kind of envisioning and your shots are kind of everything's just flowing so it's a great confidence boost it's we're just 36 holes in we still have a long way to go but whenever something clicks like that it feels really nice the fans and the crowds have been amazing thus far and I enjoy lyx golf a lot and obviously every year that I get to play it I learned a little bit more about it for two days nearly a carbon copy on the scorecard and this was a beauty at the road hle she's birdied it both days so far that was her eighth yesterday started down the 10th beautiful beautiful put here on 18 left to right down the hill backto back birdies 17 and 18 both days then she would go on to turn onto the front nine start with four pars and just let this one just drop into the cup on the par five Fifth and the Nightfall knocked it just short left with her drive playing straight down wind ni little chip up left herself what 3 ft just enough to be make you think a little bit but right in the middle those are the ones that she's missed a few of in the last few months but not yesterday blemish free bogy free has only been one so far in the first two rounds of those it came on the eth on Thursday she is barely put a foot wrong so far given the [Music] conditions style sand is so different from what We Gather in the US yeah it really is and you you've got to be very used to it and when you get close to those uh those Banks um up the front of them you got to you've got to be very careful because it comes out so much cleaner it's it's a lot harder when it gets a bit uh a bit wet just to catch it a little bit cleaner than you would want to and not quite get the same amount of height that you need so you got to be careful with those sort of shots and and also you know G Shin just did there you've got to know a bit like rose Yang found out yesterday when you just can't get out of a bunker so Nelly cter Here just hitting a couple of chips shots spency yeah you got plenty of options haven't you with these fantastic facilities here right outside the clubhouse of the new course just some basic little chip and runs here forell she a lot of drivers on the Range I'm going to say about 15 of them and three woulds are favorite Club so this is this is going to be the game though is it you're not going to hit all the greens today with this wind so you just going to all these different pins just trying to pitch that on top get a bit of spin look at that one that's very nice was she favoring any kind of shot shape in her her War up because yesterday in a post round interview she talked about the fact she's been throwing some Fades out which is a less comfortable shot for her yeah she was in a little bit of a fade but I don't think you got any choice on the Range whereabouts in an AIG women's open this is the part where everyone seems to fade away and you're the last woman standing Christina on The Putting Green now yeah it's really important for Nelly to just really make sure that her nerves are settled I mean she's number one in the world she's gosh she's done just about everything but it's so important to make sure that you you end yourself on a really good session on the tea from the USA Nelly Coda Alister Scott with the introductions and here is the world number one Nelly Corda started the year in style historic five straight wins to tie an alltime LPGA record won six before for June 1st then a dip but she's back at the top of the leaderboard as her third round begins and this will be a comfortable pairing for the two of them They Know Each Other Well play practice rounds together play the first two days here together good start for both and bright Sunshine after just a really chilly condition it's not warm out there but it's not as cold as it's been at times the first couple of days Nelly 6868 turned into game often running and a swing that you never get tired of watching yeah she definitely watching her swing over the first two days it looks like the Nelly that we saw starting this season looks very much in control so it's quite Pleasant out here little bit of Breeze but nothing like we've seen on the first couple of days Ellie's got a 7 iron here this is going to be one of her little finesse shots from 137 so don't expect this one to be a big swing just trying to control the directory a little bit here I've been really impressed with her balance so far the first two days in the wind in the Blustery conditions exhale her probably hold her breath a little bit there as that was in the air but it's okay lost it a little bit right that's the direction of the wind but you could tell she definitely took more Club it's something that she was working on coming into this week taking more Club can burn at the first green Nelly Corda and's definitely you know holding her breath on that second shot in here but it's left her in a good spot I mean she's is below the hole putting up at it it will be still fairly slow these greens haven't really sped up any what do you got from the back okay I'm I'm totally on board with that and the wind is pretty much at this angle going to be into left or right yeah and in yeah got you you can hear Jason talking about the wind and that's something that we're going to see a lot of over the course of the day C's players trying to factor in that wind as well with their PS is it that strong today Karen at this point where you do need to factor it into the Ping um it's not as bad as I've seen it I mean it's definitely a factor but it's it's nowhere near where it has been but having listened to Tom just say it's going to pick up I think we'll see more of it as we go on new putter has worked for Nelly has a new putter that she put in the bag on Wednesday Falls this week it's been amazingly steady for nelli and she's you know in some really brutal conditions to only have one bogey that's mightily impressive that one bogey was a three putt on the eighth hole in round one it's a little rattling way to start your your rounds she'll have to shake that one off forget that one about as quickly as possible possible worth noting that even in Nelly's historic run of five straight winds and six before June 1st they weren't cakewalks you know maybe the most comfortable win would have been Karen I don't know Chevron perhaps even then she hit it in the water at 15 on Sunday but she has fought through all kinds of conditions and adversity and let's see how she bounces back after the three part well I think that's something that we've all really come to known from Nelly is how she does bounce back and this is a mendous Drive she relies a lot on Jason her caddy I make a wonderful team out there says he's annoyingly positive is what Nelly has said and you know he's going to be in her ear walking off that first screen and now Nelly Nelly's got 143 a little bit more into the wind of for direction here so it doesn't have to worry too much about this one being too far taking it too far to the right it's going to hit a little six on so I just expect that three cor to swing again I mean what an advantage Karen 50 y closer oh yeah wow this one's going through the wind oh yeah absolutely cut through the winds like a 16th hole and she's going to have a tricky shot around that bunker it I'm going get further she's going to be shocked where that ends up when she gets up there but she'll probably be happy it was is in that bunker and we're back to the 216th for the third of Nelly Corda well then she can use the Contours of the green to get around the bunker and use the slope to try and get it down to the hole yeah good shot there took that bunker entirely out of play and that's what Nelly has really embraced this week is that creativity looking sometimes you have to look in a completely different direction something that you know a lot of players who are used to or only have the ability to hit one type of shot might not look in those different directions and see all of the opportunities available she'll have that for par one more look this is a big putt upcoming for Nelly after the first hole wants to see this one go in to build some momentum and some confidence heading into the rest of the day number one in the world by Morgan thinks it's big Karen what do you think for Nelly Here well I think this would be the perfect way to to rebound after the first as well and and I think in early on in in any round of golf doesn't matter whether you're the world number one or not you want to see a put go in early you you want to try and set the tone the first hole was an unfortunate Miss but the wi wind was a bit tricky it was in a it was in a tough Direction on her shoulder but this one is not the wind is in a great spot for her to make this one back into the wind so she Burns The Edge on each of her first two par huts and some early adversity for Nelly Corda bogy bogy start and her lead is one I think Karen had the nail on the head there with sets the tone that's stuck between the groups because there's a group coming the other way so that's the only problem isn't it Karen when you're out there oh it's never happened to me not not would you because you're a pro you don't you know where to walk yeah it's happened more than a few times well the difficulty for us on coures if you walk down the right you're in amongst all the Galleries and you have lots of gallery noise which is no good for our sound quality but Nelly's got to try and keep this one a little bit more down the right there were a couple of bunkers down there that could cause trouble so it's walk in that fine line and she has been driving it beautifully it is one of the things that she struggled with during a little bit of a lull that she's had in her season getting the ball in position off the tea was so automatic in her incredible stretch and and when she is driving Nell's got an UPS slope Tom so that'll add a bit more Loft to the shot and anytime I was playing Links Golf if I had a UPS slope I was always feeling a little bit unlucky cuz I always wanted a down slope to try and keep the trajectory down as much as I could n's going to have a little wedge from here she did a good job keeping this one down tough start for Nelly backto back Bogies had a good chance to uh write the ship here with a birdie at the third take a look at the contact Morgan yeah it looked like she played the ball just a little bit further back in her stance than normal because of that UPS slope wanting to keep it down win the championship of KUSI the women's side of things they still have that tradition with the big qualifier on Monday of championship week now back over to the third and Nelly looking at the Birdie Park Karen and this screen is is where this ho is situated is pretty close to that front bunker and uh so there's a little slope that that comes off that that kind of gives you the impression that the part's going to move to the right I don't know if this does as much as you think the wind as well is going to give the impression that it's going to want to move to the right but this is one of those parts that you really do have to to commit to your chosen line otherwise it can be very easy to be tentative with it and you can't be because it's into the wind you've watched Nelly play a lot of golf Karen how is her demeanor looked she looks normal it looks as as bad as normal as youve as I've seen her oh that help there we go and that's important to not get down on yourself to keep that calm demeanor to know that it's going to be tough no route to Victory is ever easy and here what a what an opportunity to flip the switch just hung on the edge and finally fell in and it's important to not get too high or too down either way you know things when think Nelly with the birdie will make the short walk over to the fourth Karen how different will Nelly feel on this fourth tea than the third I'd say significantly I mean obviously you you're trying to keep calm and trying to trying to feel like you you know everything isn't going to to get out of control but it's always a little good to know wait a minute now I've got my first birdie of the day I can really start to settle down and I think that's what we'll start to see I mean you know just settling into the round it can take a few holes doesn't matter whether you're world number one this is an aggressive play a little bit maybe up the [Applause] left just going to settle before that bunker and not shoot a very low score here Nelly now Nelly has a completely open view of the flag I mean ended up in a great spot here 145 she's going with the small seven fall slightly above her feet unless she going on too much of a fade yeah we haven't seen anybody really be all of that aggressive to the left side there there's a bunker that guards the left side of this green and the wind pushing everything away a common place expect her to chip that with her ability and preference she she does love to chip from those types of shots and it's quite long I think a chip would be a good call there with as slow as that's going to be you've got two of the four Americans who've been number one in the world here in this group no one has been number one longer than Nelly on the American side layout Clive Clark design I believe exactly yeah brilliant all right here is Nelly with her third at the fourth well as Morgan was suggesting going with a with a chip and quite rightly so too it's going to be so slow with another little bit of a tester here it's just uphill into the winds beautiful technique it's so simple not a lot of wrist hinge looked like she took a little bit less lofted Club there so that it Nelly for par at four okay a couple of one putts for birdie and Par at three and four after Bogie's at one and two and Nelly remains up by one and probably I'm going to see that lead increase with Charlie off the green lying four at the fifth steadying the ship steadying the nerves she's been here before four shots both finding the bunkers back to the tea at the fifth and Nelly quarter and ideally I mean we've seen what happened to Charlie by going in the bunkers on the right you just got to keep this one more down the left especially with this wind direction just picking up this looks pretty good to me yeah is going to be just fine and she will be able to go that even on the potting green a shaky start for Nelly Corda couple of Bogies one and two but a birdie at three nice solid par at four she leads by a couple but definitely a completely different result now Nelly Nelly got a really good lie here just a hint of an UPS slope not much though but just enough to make you feel really confident with this club which is a three-wood I think nly is probably the best in the business with this club oh this is going to be really good if it just keeps chasing that wind's trying to force it right yeah it's going to be an eagle but for Nelly had tough conditions where she played well last year at Pebble Beach Nelly well rapper the eagle and even though nellia is a lot closer than Lilia she's still going to have to work hard get this ball to the hole it is very much into the wind oh it's a good put it's a good effort that's a good twoot twoot birdie move on and Nelly cter Two Shots ahead back to where she started the day so that's important you know she had those two Bogies to begin the round little unsettled but uh no trouble at all back to level par of the day and we'll go to number six and back as Tom said to where she began this third round at eight underpar Nelly Corda and it's a blind te shot but the middle of the Fairway is kind of signified by the the green flag that's fluttering which tells the player that the Fairway in front is clear oh wow it looks like she's skirted those bunkers that's going to be okay but well left of where she was looking it's the difference between in play from the 13th hole than they are from the sixth hole and Nelly getting through has this for her second and I actually quite like this position that n's found us in he's got a little up slope but I do actually like the angle there's a big front slope to this this green that that can make get into this whole location a little tougher the more right you are on The Fairway so left you have much more green to use to get it to chase down to that flag it's it's it's 27 I think 21 is our Landing number yep is it going to be any more downwind because of her angle Karen there is a little bit of down but not much I mean it's almost directly across from left to right so he's going to hit a very small nine on [Applause] here oh is it going to stay there just barely on the top of that large ridge that Karen mentioned protect player in the world G Nelly at six this part was awkward really cuz the wind was on Nelly's back well she threaded the t-shot through the coffins bunkers just crested that Ridge in front of the green and it appears she'll walk away with the par so the early stumbles but even through six yeah I mean Karen mentioned it earlier she didn't look too perturbed by that shaky start and has continued to back to the te and Karen this has been interesting because we've seen players be quite aggressive off this te so far and what's Nelly going to do well it looks like she's got the driver out on oh it's too much Karen it's too much well I think it's a calculated uh risk to be honest with you cuz even if you end up in Shell banka the whole location is in a spot that that is pretty open and I think players think well if I go in Shell bunker I'll be able to hit the green you like it or not I kind of I mean I don't know in Nelly's shoes I might lay up a little but uh this is Nelly and uh she's been hitting the driver incredibly well today I think everything that she's done has been quite calculated with this club I've liked the angles that she's created even though she skirted those coffin bunkers on the last I like the angle that it gave her a good one will'll get on the green yeah this one's low it's a a bit of a draw okay I just don't know that there's any point well she's managed to take a bit off it and is it enough just a cross right now so yeah oh yeah she's got it and tougher as the day has gone on but GA now within one here's the second shop for Nelly at the seventh just a short little chip from from where she is Lilia already played hers she's about 20 ft right to the hole just couldn't get it to stop there no the Ruff was a little thick around the ball I have to imagine they let out Jason especially let out a little sigh of relief when they got up there but good spot to be just wasn't quite able to control the release as well as she would have liked if she'd been about a foot further back to join that group at four under first we go back to seven when Nelly has the birdie putt dealing with the wind as well slight different angle and uh should be maybe just a little bit more left in this part too just gets eaten up by the wind it's so exposed this area the 11th green is even more exposed or the 11th but it's the Eden estri there in the background leading into the river Eden and now quter for par I'm getting just back into the wind look solid turn back for uh the first time here at the eighth and Nelly up by one and the T be move forward here on the eth and the reason for that is this whole location it's tuck behind the bunker at the front even though there's a lot of room between that front bunker and the flag it slopes downhill all the way to the hole you've really got to be a little bit right at this flag I mean it's hard to say I mean you've only got 137 as a yardage and n's got nine on little nine on out I was brilliant shots in here Karen's quite soft oh well that's handy that rain that they've had these past couple of days have helped and this is exactly where I would have expected her to have played this she landed that nearly pin High earlier I mean even the first day Nelly hit a good shot in here it ended up releasing all the way to the back of the green and she's but then bouncing back with couple of birdies and here here's a chance at another and this part for nelli I mean the wind's on her back which I think is the most difficult direction to have the wind when you're putting CU it wants to push you forward uh which can lead to sometimes a heel hit and also you have to watch this ball has to move to the right because that wind it is really Gusty at the minute had the bit of a double whammy there the the ball breaking away from you and the wind trying to push you in that direction as well it just can really be unstable with your center of gravity more so than when it's at your chest you can feel like you can brace up against it differently than when I mean think about somebody trying to push you over from behind it's kind of that that same sort of feel you don't have the brace up against it the same way that you would somebody trying to do the same at your front even Lydia said it's weird to think how important it is just to hit a putt four of the lead trying to set that Target in the clubhouse back to the tea at 9 Nelly with the driver yeah I think if Nell's going to get on this green you got to hit a little bit of a slinging slinging draw just to make sure you get as much roll out of this as you possibly can club's riding the wind a little bit more there there's a bunker Mr bunker oh she screwed a couple as well on the links out here as we watch the golf swing of Nelly you can pitch the ball on a down slope and it shoots forward saw that yesterday on 18 with Charlie Hull who drive it right on the front of the green pitched on a down slope just after granny Clark's wind the road that runs golf on the Jubilee course I believe this week yep second now for quarter and this isn't also a shot that we call for maybe a little run in there going to get it to check we check way too much can almost see the wind just knock it straight down Le this week nine again and Nelly for birdie this one is I mean it's this green is is one of the flattest greens out here yeah she'll be glad that she made that up and down after not her best effort with the pitch shot but it doesn't matter because it's a three at the end of the day and Nelly is out in underpar despite the bogey bogey start I'm really impressed Tom with the way that she was able to shake off that start cuz a lot of players that could have rattled very quickly and you could have seen the entire round spiral in the wrong direction but not for Nelly able to mentally reset stay focused I me we've talked about some of the conditions that she has won in previously this season have not been they've not been good they've not been ones ship the team event well Karen I I asked you how Nelly would feel on the fourth T compared to the third after having gone bogey bogey but then making birdie sheel makes the turn here one underpar for the day and two up well again she's she's very much in her Zone and you know she knows how to get there I mean she's done it numerous times this season and we've talked about how she's come through some really difficult weather conditions to to claim trophies already this year too so this is something that she's used to being in and I think it actually really helps keep her very focused on her own game when it's when it's tougher conditions I think the wind might have this a little bit to the right should be okay yeah it's going to be fine with less than driver to make sure stay short of those car foron Y at the ninth Nelly Corda coming all the way back from that rough start her third birdie of the outward nine she leads by two 10th oh she's gone up a club she initially had the six AR out gone to the five now and that's because of what happened to lilia's I mean just getting a massive gust this is just a little chippy five trying to keep it low into that wind and she's done that and there you see with that extra Club going to the back edge of the green but that'll be okay with one win to her credit on the LPG tour which came in Texas as we go back to 10 and it's Nelly cter for birdie and this part A littleit down to start and then back up Hill towards the hole but the big thing is the wind off the right this has been some comeback for Nelly Corda today couple of shaky Bogies to start including a three putt three birdes sents and a very solid par at the 10 for the world number one trying to do it Lily of Vu did last year win the first and last major championship of the season it's a little chilly Charlie Hall missed her putt down the hill at the 11th we didn't see that but Charlie did make a bogey there she missed the downhill putt to the right here's quarter on the tea as a five AR out I think you have to start this well left of the 12 sign behind the green with that wind trying to take it to the ride it going to come back it should do yes it's going to it might get all the way down to whole High down close to where roning Yin was yeah very [Applause] good got to give great credit to the way Nelly has played these conditions have been but could have been a lot worse kind of clapping for herself she TR to stay warm I think yeah both she ought to guess almost you're guessing out here with the way the wind has been the first few days you can see it blowing here on the 12th Melly and Jason trying to figure out what's going on here so that's good and that number is basically 107 okay you think it's playing it somewhere in the I think 35 instead it's a little thicker I obviously cold in a little uphill Li I wouldn't say 9 would be my minimum 59 yeah like meaning like that's that's what it's going to play yeah all right the AIG Women's Open champ from 2004 Karen stles following this final game and n's got the six on out this is a beast of a lie I mean it's a little bit thicker than I've seen around this golf course so far this week and the grass is growing into her also the wind as well she's got a lot of golf ball on that but it's going out to the right it was a completely blind shot that's where she had to miss it though whole location all the way on the left today oh ah just crests over to the back that um that 12 there you've got Lilia short I agree with you 100% Nelly long still going to come yeah that left side's still going to be a little higher not drastically all your brakes right here feel it out downwind how hard is this to get it to the hole and on some reasonable line Karen well I I don't think it's going to be hard to get it to the hole I mean you you've actually got a little bit of helping wind in this one for however she does have a bit of a slope to hit the ball up to start with and uh from when you when you're pting from such long distances on these massive greens there are all manner of little slopes and undulations that the ball has to travel through and over and under along the way good look at that Potter Nelly putting that new Potter in the bag just in the proam had one day of practice with it started with it on flag stick which was on the bottom right of the screen there Nelly for par this has a little bit of awkwardness to it just because the wind is on her back and the green should be sloping a little bit to the right as well oh so one bogey through the first 36 holes for Nelly she opened bogy bogy today so this for the our fourth Bogey and and three of them being three putts right so the lead is back to two this is the T at the 13th hole and the leader of the AIG women's open Nelly cter looking a little concerned here three bunkers in the middle of the Fairway she's avoided them and now Nelly with her second this was Nelly earlier running to catch up she was running a little faster than that yeah she may have filled her water bottle up there on the tea catching up with Lil Vu so important to stay warm in these conditions some of the most some of the cold coolest holes temperature- wise would be out right on this point out here I mean I wouldn't play it any more than the pin number at 53 just with and I'm giving you that because of the air temperature yeah but it's a it's a small one yeah I mean it's straight across which off the right always helps your shot so with this air the max I would tell you to play this is 152 okay committed [Applause] line so the club here is a seven on the actual yardage is 142 so this is playing about 10 yards just for the coolness of the air you could hear Jason saying it really doesn't need to be a very big one at all so just expect this swing to be incredibly smooth and steady good view there can't see anything but that wall in front front of her of grass it's going to leave her a long partt it's going to be closer to the fifth flag than it is the 13th flag the famous double greens here they're only four holes which do not this is at the 13th hole for a birdie Nelly quar there's a long range one Tom and you've got wind off the left and the green will break to the right as well that is a very good touch long range putting at St Andrews is so key to going well here at some stage players are going to have shot is one thing two was was unnecessary now cter for her par oh no I think that might have been the breeze there blowing across the hole so that's going to be a bogey for cord meanwhile G shin has got that short birdie put to come at the 17th so we could see a tie at the top here Leo's double and Karen we've seen some greatness from Nelly Corda and a few slip UPS some of them caused by the conditions certainly no question about it I mean you think about how difficult it is hitting shots in the wind it's it's I think the hardest part of playing in the wind is the putting because you have to allow for that that wind gust that's going to take the ball away from the line and players are so used to what they feel and and it's tough ping into it sometimes but this is an opportunity here on this par five for nly she's played the par five well this week how about some of the targets you take here Morgan with the win you just really have to trust it I mean just even like Karen mentioned with the pting where you're kind of thinking that the wind might take a putt you got to trust that the wind's going to take the ball off the te got to pick a spot in the distance that's completely different than where you want it to finish aiming Out of Bounds at times even especially on these inward holes here 14 15 16 177 With the Wind hard off in Grand Rapids Michigan and now Nelly did you have both of her Fairway Woods out had the three-wood and the Seven wood out and she's gone with the three-wood she 247 to the hole there should be plenty of club I'm not sure that she needs all of it so I think we can expect just the you know another one of those controlled swings out of Nelly got a good lie looks like it's riding the wind to touch here in the SW that might have even gotten knocked down a little bit by the winds it's tough to tell sometimes whether it's just slightly quarter emotion and her energy as well she's a charismatic character third shot for Nelly at 14 she's one over today just one bogey through the first two days and Nelly who won five straight events earlier this year tying it's a special trip anytime you make it to St Andrews but this the third visit for the AIG Women's Open and so many of these players like Nelly Corda hadn't been here before at least not in an AIG Women's Open three- shot lead got tied early in this third round regained the three- shot lead but now tied again and a birdie pot and if you're a player and Morgan you can attest to this too it all right with G in finished here's Nelly Corda to take the lead at 14 needs a good putt here needs to see something of decent speed struggled on the last two holes a couple of bunkers you got to drive over but uh shouldn't be any issue for these players southernland is the Deep bunker in the middle of the Fairway but that's 220 to carry roughly now Nelly expect much of the same from Nelly off this t- shot this was a little lower drawing ball flight from Nelly going run into the wispy grass but shouldn't be an issue may just get into the flatter area yeah that's just fine on at Walton Heath down near London now Nelly she's only got 107 but she's in this first cut and there's a little bit of grass around the ball but on this angle she's more into the wind there still a little right to left but there's more hurt than there is right to left and a chance to bounce back local time and if you've got a ticket to come into the championship you get into the concert Tom grenan is the act who's very popular over here tomorrow as well anything can happen but want to put yourself in a good position here now Nelly for the birdie it's laboring that's going to be a four and just to make the forecast even worse it's going to be about five de colder tomorrow so grab the hot water bottle you might need a hot water bottle tomorrow that's an invention that they've had here for years where you fill up this sort of bottle with water that's today well it's been a bit bit uh up and down I mean she's obviously made a few Bogies but she's been hanging around third round of majes when you have a decent lead is not easy and um she's been putting herself in a in a decent position and it's not about what happens today it's about keeping yourself in that fight for for tomorrow for Nelly oh and this one's down the right I'm not sure this is coming back this might stay out of bounds oh oh my goodness it's gone oh or is it still in they were that's that's that's out of bounds the there's an internal fence that internal fence this is the boundary she's over the internal fence inside that secondary fence you saw there I saw those two fences when we walked in the practice round and asked the RNA which one it was and it definitely is that interior wow fence line and Karen we talked about this I I've done that on this ho it's just it's an uncomfortable t-shot but what a moment there to miss it right the only place you can't hit it it is I think she knew that that she wanted to keep it down that right side but her her aim was more inside the line and I think she just went for the little bit of a push at the last minute to to keep it out there and the wind didn't actually hit it at all the wind died as it was in the air she was dangerously close yesterday as well watching this one too it's just because it's moving left h well barring a hole out here Nelly Corda is going to trail for the first time today three shot lead when the round began she got caught a couple of occasions but now Out of Bounds at the 16th she'll be hitting a four Finelli oh and this one's down the right I'm not sure this is coming back this might stay out of Bounce oh oh my goodness it's gone oh or is it still in what would a bogey mean for Nelly Here Karen oh that would be huge exactly what she needs to do just fight fight for it I mean it's easy to to really kick yourself and think why didn't I do that the first time when you know there's so much room left but bad swings happened every once in a [Applause] while she's got lots of height on this it's going to be hit by the wind she's got to get some SP well once you begin to turn toward Town you've got out of bounds right and that's where Nelly just hit it you mentioned she flirted with it yesterday yeah it's just dangerous I mean you can you can play all the way you can play 80 yards left not that you not that you necessarily want to but there is all day left and just missed a little bit didn't quite have the same type of draw that we're so used to seeing and Karen said the wind didn't move it Nelly where I think uh we might be a little bit slow playing on this screen because the group in front of him is about to tea off on 17 so there's going to be a lot of time taken here for for this group you could see Nelly there Karen almost like closing her eyes a little bit try trying to shake off that frustration yeah Ronin goes by Ronnie and now the bogey putt for Nelly she put a good strike on it holding that follow through and a double bogey for Nelly CA she had one bogey through the first 36 holes four Bogies and now a double today the world number one who after winning those six times before June 1st Morgan really struggled shot 80 in the first round the US Women's Open and another round of the 80s in sahali and I'm surprised because her driver has seemed really solid here this week Bri future ahead with the win Nelly cter would take the Rolex anakah major award sure she's not thinking about that right now she's thinking about the fact there's OB down the right of 17 but it will be given away at the end of the week men's open there is the 2023 champion of the Rama as it's known on tour Rolex anaka major award on the left don't think Nelly thought much of her snack there she thrown some of it away and she's struggling got to take something on board late in the day a couple more really big t- shots well corders birded this hole both days good luck with making bird with this pin can't be many birdies I know you can scrabbling around your computers it can't be many it's two GI Shin just made the second one two that surprised me I didn't think there' be any with this pin first things first the drive well that takes some nve doesn't it you just hit it out of bounds and then uh perfect part one of the equation down the road hold done for Nelly quarter but it tests you all the way through there good indication of the [Applause] yardage and then's got the seven AR out seven wood out it's going to be a little one though it's going to have to be I mean a controlled shot this is quite an aggressive play I can say caring a little one with all the trouble long she's going left left of the bunker left of the green it's left of 18t is it Karen mhm it is she's going to have to play over the 18th T I mean look at there's the CP ahead Charlie Hall getting ready to tea off on 18 that's that's actually gone a long way there I mean you're on a straight line that would be sort of 20 yd long of the flag taking a little bit more Club there was that was never going to be right and it's quite soggy over there down in that area that actually flooded um yeah here for Nelly just going to land this short and get it to run on from here Tom it is very flat because of the 18th T that was well played yeah chance to save power in this very difficult hole for elction needs to make that let's just let a lot of shots slip away on this back nine two bogeys and a double a chance always at 18 for a birdie maybe even an eagle we saw that from lty W pitching in shortly more straight down so opportunity for both of them to get it very close to the front now the PO part for nelli oh no another shot Slips Away well it's just been a horrible back nine for the world number one what a change from what we saw as she closed out the front nine earlier today she really bounce back Tom from the opening struggles bogeying her first two holes got it back to one under par on the day but going in the wrong direction has to hit hit a good shot I think uh I mean there'd be a little bit of anger in this if I if I was standing on that tea with in Nelly shoes right now judging by that reaction to the follow through didn't hit it quite as solidly as she would have liked but that'll chase down there she be fairly close [Applause] final game playing its way into town here next rankings but a struggle for Nelly Here on this inward nine and one more swing well and it's a bit of a tough number I mean 59 yards you're going to have to really choose your shot selection if you want to land in the bottom of the valley is say let it hop up to the top and onto the GR if you're going to pitch it by the hole she's going to pitch it by the hole oh how well judge with that such a steep slope it is really hard to take the low route from that distance you think about what these two players have endured this year Ellie Corda got off to that incredible start but then on the third hole of the US Women's Open made a 12 and shot 80 in that opening round struggled missed the cut by a dog that weekened as well and she said all of the great things I've done those first few months I feel like I've thrown them away now she's on the entire week until she made the turn today now five over on this back nine but as we've said she's won in so many different ways this season from ahead coming from behind having big leads losing big leads coming back and she knows how to get it done from each and every way tomorrow is going to be from behind in tough tough conditions and she's got this for birdie to shoot 75 after a pair of 68s to open the week and from this point of the green it's going to be downhill and I think you know Nelly will regroup from this no question about it and sure she'd be a little disappointed Morgan but if anybody can round back rebound she can and she started that rebound right now I think about what she said I believe it was after the third round at the Olympics when she had a poor finish she said I'm glad this isn't after the fourth round I may be having a different feeling standing here right now that's how she's going to be right now she's going to refocus I have 18 holes left to go well when this win streak really began to kick in it was at Palos veres in Southern California and she was two shots behind G Shin going into the final round will history repeat itself here at the home of golf three- shot lead when the round began and she will play with G Shin tomorrow couple of AIG Women's Open Champions that that bounce back from that double bogey on 13 was huge huge for Lilia what a way to regroup in the middle of the round Nelly Corda five under is going to play vers is Lilia Vu bouncing back from injury not able to defend her Victory her first major championship victory at the Chevron Championship because of her back injury and coming back winning her very first event
