Mitch Jeter and that's blocked at the slot of scrimmage and the Huskies are celebrating the biggest upset in their school's history it's disappointing um you know you go from the highest of highs to the lowest of Lowe's in a tail of two weeks but you know we got to own this thing as coaches and players we got to own it and we got to fix it Notre Dame players and their fans are riding an emotional wave this week the Euphoria of a big win in Texas and the top five ranking that followed it have disappeared following Notre name shocking and disappointing loss to Northern Illinois in the home opener the reasons why the Irish went unable to rise to the challenge against the Huskies are plentiful and inability to sustain any momentum on offense and a minus two in the turnover battle Chief among them but regardless of the reasons why the Irish run able to handle the challenge on this Saturday Marcus Freeman and his players say they are resolved to bounce back I also told him I've been here I've been here um this is as low as it gets you know and and there's only one option for me and that's to get back to work and get it fixed and that's who I am and that's who this team will be and that's the way I'm going to lead is that I'm not going into hiding I'm going in to to get it fixed and um and man I'm I'll be just as confident in uh what we're going to be able to do as a football program um moving forward as I was going into this game but there's some serious some some schematical things that we have to attack and get and get them corrected they just outplayed us I don't know we just you know miss hackles you know some Miss assignments uh you know they popped a couple explosive plays on us that hurt us uh so you know that kind of just how played us in that aspect we're one and one this isn't the end of our season and we know that yeah this sucks right we know that everybody knows that all our fans that we know that like we all of our coaches and everybody top down knows that but I told I'm going to tell yall what I told everybody use that use what everybody's telling you everybody's going to like you're going to be hearing it all week like we suck all right use that because all due respect seven days we're on the field again so are we going to be like all right N I guess it's over game two or we just going to keep rolling and I think that's what we're going to do just keep moving we've been here before um now it's time to get it fixed we got to get it fixed and uh get back to uh playing football the way we know how to play we've played before and um we can and we will Notre Dame was not ready to play in the season opener and the Irish PID dearly for it falling to one and one on this young season in this new 12 team playoff era it's not a fatal mistake but it is costly as the Irish are now left with little to no margin for error and 10 games still to go in the regular season reporting from Notre Dame Stadium I'm Pete burn wsbt22 Sports I'm Pete burn from wsbt22 news for more Notre D stories like And subscribe to the wsbt22 YouTube page thanks for watching
