Demidov KHL Debut, Caufield Honors Gaudreau, Prayer for Gaudreau Family

what's happening you guys it has been a minute or two since we've done something here in the deak studio I'm going with one less light so let me know how it looks on camera because I'm trying to change a couple things up here in the setup in the studio it's been a little while we had to do a full cleaner of the studio I'll explain why at another time basically we had a fly problem okay that's all I'm going to say we had a fly problem in this place it was gross it's done and we're back to business here the NHL season is almost upon us and here's what we're going to talk about in this video I have in Demi NH NHL KHL not yet not yet not yet KHL debut and he was impressive he was impressive we're going to talk about it we're also going to talk about the fact that I will be at the prospect showdown in Montreal next weekend at the Bell Center for both games against the Toronto mate beliefs I will be there be sure to come out and say hello section 113 just going to give you the hint there and my buddy Shane gal will be joining me for one game and then my buddy John from absolutely podcast will be joining me for both games along with some family and friends joining in as well so I want to mention that to you guys Cole Coffield wearing number 13 in honor of Johnny goodro what can you say we're gonna talk about that too Patrick l already looking comfortable on a Montreal Canadians uniform come on and then I want to end this video because I haven't had a chance to talk about it since it happened other than a short little post on the channel here about Johnny and Matthew GD so we're going to end on that actually it's going to be a little prayer for them something different something you haven't experienced maybe like that before and a YouTube channel that's fine with me I'm honored and privileged to do that all right so gonna be a one taker today I havan demov I mean let's just go to The Habit ton we saw him even in grabs grab's video and there's a lot of debate about how to pronounce Ivan it's not Ivon it's apparently Ivan so forgive grab okay just forgive the guy calm down for two seconds all right but it's Ivan deid is what I'm hearing that's what I'm hearing iol I'm even hearing ivol deav anyways you guys will post it in the comments I know you always do so from The habitant Habit ton himself on Twitter here one primary assist seven minutes into the game on the power play Dei I'm gonna have to get used to this deid gets his first KHL point it was a nice little pass to the pointman on the power play he shifted over to the left side kind of like a decoy in a sense to just change position and then his defenseman came down and sniped you guys saw it right so one primary assist for demidov demidov one point three shots on goal one hit one takeaway 14 minutes and two seconds time on Ice 14th on the team we know he was playing on the third line with ska the highest average skating speed among all skaters highest Puck control distance 0 40 among all players despite limited ice time so a pretty impressive debut just in terms of the body language from deav right so how he looked out there gaining the zone you know passing the puck to himself creating creating a chance for himself to score and uh you want Point projections might as well throw it out there I think he's going to put up in total points wise I I say he's gonna put 40 40 to 50 points at least that's what I'm going to say for him just a total initial prediction right off the top of my head here and by the way I just want to throw this plug out here absolutely podcast is going to be posted tonight with John and Paul I couldn't make it yesterday for the episode so stay tuned for that I will be back in studio for absolutely podcast next week okay so want to throw that there for the boys so in his KHL debut I didn't even get a chance to come on and talk about how first of all this is the most ideal situation for demidov's development going forward is he made the KHL team he made the top tier team that he could have possibly made he's going to be playing against and he is playing against professional hockey players playing with professional hockey players men if you will not in the ml anymore it's not Junior anymore right so this is a good and best case scenario frankly that we were hoping for is that he would make this team and he has so it's encouraging to see his first game here it's out of the way and it's it's looking good I'm not going to say it looked great I don't think it was an amazing game from him he's the third line guy right now he's a future Top Line player for the Montreal Canadians that's what we project him to be so he will get there and I do believe that he will earn his way up the lineup this season that's what I expect I absolutely expect him to climb up the lineup just like slavkovsky did in the second half of the last season with the Canadians I expect idov to do the same with the KHL I understand there's a lot of respect for the veterans there Talent wins out that's how I see it and skill too and discipline I think he just looked good out there overall physically there was a lot of good assets to his game that we liked if you watch the little highlights that you saw of course I did not see the full game I'm not going to lie to you did not see the full game but what I did see I liked all right Cole Coffield wearing number 13 starting this season in honor of Johnny Gad we've kind of all said everything you you could possibly say about this beautiful gesture from Cole Coffield Johnny Gad was this hero and learning about that was pretty cool you know I heard Coffield talk a lot about Alex De Brat before entering the NHL because they're the exact same height and it's a player he looked up to but I had no idea that Johnny was his hockey hero Johnny hockey was his hockey hero and it's it's been a tough go it's not going to get easier for Theo family for a while you know and I hope it does don't get me wrong what I mean by that is you know you you lost two guys you simply can't replace and it's difficult to talk about because I don't feel qualified in a sense just because I have this tiny little YouTube channel here to talk about something that is so hard to understand and that's what it comes down to but Cole Coffield his gesture was absolutely beautiful it's touching it's inspiring 40 goals for Cole this year no question no question he'll get 40 before Patrick l but Cole's getting 40 this year I don't think it's a hot take I just think that he's going to be so revved up I don't know I don't know how else to put it but I think he's getting 40 and that's not even the most important thing it's not even the most important thing I just think it's going to be a natural byproduct of how inspired Cole and a lot of players frankly this season are going to be a lot of players are going to be playing for Johnny you know so just going to throw that out there and it's just I expect no less from a classy kid like Cole Coffield being a Montreal Canadian you make us proud man what can we say you make us proud Patrick l looking pretty good in a Canadian's uniform okay he's only had a couple practices maybe one that we've seen anyway and you know I just this was a fit for the Canadians that I saw coming because of the environment that they've created and the coach that they've hired in Marty St Louie and uh it's just fun to see Patty shooting Pucks in Habs uniform already you know other fan bases are taking notice that the Canadians are going to be better this year are they going to be a playoff team we'll let them decide that we don't expect them to make it still we don't we don't expect it next year I think we will but Patrick l looks pretty good in Habs uniform so far and it's going to be fun to see him just playing with other guys seeing what he looks like playing with with our boys right so I like it all right so Johnny G you know I walked into a store the other day just after I heard the news I was up up north up north of Moka where we take a vacation every single year the last three years especially and the first store I walk into maybe an hour after hearing the news about Johnny and Matthew GD I go into this card collector store sports memorabilia store and I see a signed Johnny gdo Jersey Calgary Flames jersey naturally not for sale but uh not a coincidence you know it was weird it was not weird but it was weird it was weird but you know death is a hard thing to comprehend for anybody when someone dies so young especially so I don't have anything scripted here I anything prepared but I've thought a lot about what I was going to say and I'm like you know what I don't really know what to say because it's an unspeakable tragedy frankly as we know so what I wanted to offer was from my heart to yours and whoever happens to see this is just a simple little prayer for the Johnny for Johnny and Matthew GD and the Gad family and those who knew him I'm not doing this for me please don't ever think that um not everybody believes in prayer not everybody is religious so to speak or spiritual you guys know me I'm a Christian and I take it very seriously there's nothing more important to me God family and everything else comes after that work everything else comes after hockey and I don't even necessarily always treat it that way because I put hockey before things sometimes but you know what there's things in life that just matter more than hockey and our our Hobbies right but I want to say a quick little prayer um for Johnny gdo for Matthew gdo for the whole family wife everybody um if you guys are sticking around for this I just want to thank you for that and I'm just going to roll here right into prayer so God I just thank you for this these beautiful guys Matthew and Johnny gdo that we were so blessed to get to enjoy and watch play this great game of hockey that we all love that we are all blessed with the game of hockey is a gift it's a pure gift that we all get to enjoy and God I just thank you for being faithful even in tragedy when we don't understand when we don't understand we can turn to a god that we or maybe we don't yet but we just pray that you would comfort the Gad family in this time the fans the friends the teammates anybody who's connected to this family father we just pray for comfort and peace that surpasses our natural human understanding that God you would wrap your arms around this family that you would show your unconditional love in this imperfect world where we don't understand why these things happen God I just pray that you would Reveal Your good goodness in the sight of pure tragedy here that you would reveal yourself to this family and to anyone that knows them and Lord let their hearts not be discouraged let them not turn away from you but to turn to you even if they don't understand God I thank you for your love your peace even when it doesn't make sense Lord I just pray for this family I thank you for the viewers tuning in to watch this right now I pray for all of them as well I pray that people would think before they get into a car after having consumed alcohol I pray that they would think and that your spirit would grip their hearts to make them think twice before they do anything that would jeopardize the lives of themselves or anybody else Lord I pray for safety and protection for those that get on the road and anybody else frankly this extends beyond the hockey world but thank you so much thank you Lord and these things we ask in your name
