I think this is now giving Philadelphia the best wide receiver wide receiver Trio in football this was a really good offense to begin with if doson just replicates what he did which is 50 or so catches and 500 yards at that number three wide receiver spot I don't know of anybody in the NFC that can line up and play man-to-man coverage against those four pass catchers and the fourth that rosi was talking about Dallas Gard the tight end uh we'll get we'll get your thought on that in a minute cuz you're not big on that but I I do want to get hawk in here first just to immediately react what is he right are the Eagles the best receiving core in football absolutely I I think he is right I mean obviously you can make a case for the Houston Texans as well as the Chicago Bears but when you look at again to a dance Point what you see from Jan Dodson where yeah is he a number two is he a number one probably not but when you look at him and say well can this guy be in the slot exclusively and take a little bit of attention away from AJ Brown and devont Adam or devont Smith on third down he can absolutely do that when you look at what Jan doson brings to the table as a wide receiver it's speed its quickness its ability to win in one-on-one and that is different from the outside to the inside as someone who played almost exclusively in the slot like his skill set is built for that and what the Eagles are asking him to do is far less than what the uh commanders were asking him to do as a first round pick so I think this actually could be one of those match madees in heaven you know if if Jaylen Herz has a SE that we expect all right so Hawk has me sold Graziano yeah you you you on the other hand or I'm skeptical because like they got him from a team in their own division right like like if he's if he's that much of a you know kind of a differen making kind of player is Washington going to trade him to a team they got to play twice a year right so look I I I think I I love orlovski and his passion but you got to put Houston's three wide receivers ahead of this group and and possibly the bearss as as Hawk mentioned doson hasn't proven it and like the eagles the third round pick for a number three receiver feels like a little bit of a high price maybe maybe Hawk is right he knows more about wide receiver than I'll ever know in my life but I I feel like the eagles kind of maybe stretched a little bit for this one I if they have the best receiving group in the league I don't think it's because of the move they made yesterday yeah and the in division thing was the one that was a little bit suspect why would you trade a guy that you feel can be productive against a team you're going to play twice a year that to me was a little bit of a red flag but Bart Scott will play along I mean what do you think well one man's trash is another man treasure I'm just asking what in the giant Wick is going on here what type of marker does um Harry Roseman have that he's you know that why would you trade a talented player like that within a division and what this allows them to do is to play basically out of 11 personnel right we call it three wise and you you talk about the difference and the pieces together sometimes the whole the the the sum of the parts is better than the whole um when you think about the ability with saquin Barkley there as well and saquin Barkley you know him both than a lot you know average five yards a pop out of that Personnel grouping and you talk about what what's is allowing is being able to create more space right and just create more space because now everybody has to deal with it Chang gayy used to do this a lot Chang gayy used to run out of that same Personnel grouping but he ran power runs because now you have to figure out how you're going to match up are you going to go sub on first down are you going to go big sub on first down then they're going to run power runs you know out of out of that Personnel Group and if you go with the nickel then they run the power runs if you go out and you put the linebacker out there or the big safety then now they spread you out and they just you know deaf by a thousand paper cuts because he had so many options so but what Hawk said something maybe that that dots be played better from the slot maybe that's more comfortable what then why didn't the commanders figure that there yeah look I I I think look it's a different regime right coaching staff in front office than the one that drafted him in the first round two years ago so maybe he just wasn't their cup of tea but again the the red flag is you traded him to a division rival like if you thought was going to make a difference for them you probably don't make that move there are other teams out there looking for wide receiver but maybe you don't know how to use them because you all right Matt dog you're up first are you more confident or concerned about the Eagles I think Stevie hit it right on the head I mean I would take Philadelphia too made a lot of good moves Dallas we know is a little spotty Bart's going to talk about that momentarily little hangover San Francisco Lions and Green Bay people in love with be careful on trendy picks Philadelphia coming off a awful finish to the season last year you know they're going to be you know they got a bitter taste in their mouth they made good moves Barkley will be motivated doson will help the receiving core and I believe in a quarterback so I think Stevie hit a r in the head I think Herz is going to have a big year it's not a difficult conference so I'm with Steve I think Philadelphia has got a heck of a chance to return to a Super Bowl I wouldn't make him the favorite out of the NFC only because of their defense from last year but they are in the mix I got to make Detroit and San Francisco the two favorites but they're in the mix to get back to a super bow I don't think there's any question about it I mean you you have to tip your cap off to to Harry Rosen I don't know what type of John Wick marker he has on these um other general managers why would you let Dean joh Dean John uh doson go within the division which only added to the um the refry that Jaylen Herz had but madg you hit it on the head when you talk about the defense I confirmed this defense it wasn't the offense the offense was bad at the end but the defense was horrible historically horrible when you think about their inability they traded for uh Shaq um Leonard last year to try and shre up at the second level you know I think last year they really missed CJ U Gardner Johnson they brought him back let's see if he can be the player that he was for them before you know Devon White's going to have to step up and you know be that quarterback on on that side of the ball they lost a lot of leadership when you think about losing Kelce who I believe was the leader on both sides of the ball but also Fletcher Cox they're going to have to figure out how to stop guys get off the field and I I worry about you know Kell Moore you know coming over there because sometimes he falls in love too much with throwing the ball you remember know a couple years ago when Dak Prescott had that great year he also threw 15 interceptions I think you know we have to figure out who is the real Jaylen Herz is it the one that we saw struggle against Tom Brady being sophisticated and going back and reading defenses or it's the one under um under uh siken who was who was able to really give him that read option type of look quick reads you know easy um developing plays who is he and when they ask him to do more is HE capable of doing more he definitely has the Weaponry around him the roster to do it but I'm a little concerned that maybe just maybe that window is you know is closed a little bit because of the Ascension of the lions in San Francisco window is still open well you can talk about the Ascension of the Lions and and you talk about San Francisco you want to we can look at it that way we can look at it in a different way with the coming to Lions you just arrived there so you should still be had because you're still young pups to some degree you know you haven't been uh conditioned for PR erity you're just learning about that that's number one and on the case of the San Francisco 49ers you've been knocking at the door knocking at the door knocking at the door at some point in time you're either gonna kick it in or you're gonna fall off the wagon because you've had too many opportunities too many bites at the apples so you can look at it that way which is one of the ways that I'll look at it when I think about the Philadelphia Eagles I think about from a motivational standpoint you went one and five you went one and five over the last six weeks of the season and then you lost in the playoffs to Tampa Bay so you finished the last seven weeks of Theon season losing six of those weeks certainly you've got some making up to do so what do they do they off their offensive line even though they they lost Kelsey is still considered one of the best in the business you kept AJ Brown you reup him you still got Devonte Smith and GED and got her you pick up saquan Barkley and then herdz who only had eight turnovers the year they went to the Super Bowl Nos dived and had 20 last season so he's got a lot of making up to do as well he obviously improved his a thrower we know his athleticism he can run with the football and you're looking at the offensive weapons that he has available to him to throw to use saquan B is a security blanket and on top that all are having offensive line buffering mbbs and then here's the deal here's the thing that we have to take into consideration much to the Chagrin of Molly if Daniel Jones can use saquan Barkley as a security blanket yeah what do you think Jaylen Herz could do with sequan Barkley as a security blanket someone to dip and dunk the ball too when all else fails because sequan Barkley is that kind of an athlete he's that kind of a player and by the way he didn't have guys like AJ Brown and Goddard and and Devonte Smith you know as weapons to rely upon okay so I'm looking at from that standpoint and then you bring up Kell Moore B Scott I got to tell you something right now I understand what Kell Moore falls in love with and how that could be to your detriment come playoff time but during the regular season from 2019 to 2022 in terms of yards and scoring over the Four Season Seasons there was nobody better in the National Football League of the Dallas Cowboys outside of Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs so we know during the regular season in terms of accumulating yardage accumulating points which also spells for the defense and puts them in a position where they're not behind the eightball Kell Moore is considered one of the best in the business and now he's a member of the Philadelphia Eagles familiar with NFC East competition because he used to work for the Cowboys and the Eagles commanders and Giants are still in that same division today I mean listen I agree with you when you talk about Kell Moore and how great of a football mind he is but also you it's a reason why this is his third destination in three years right because sometimes when you have coordinators that's trying to get head coaching jobs sometimes they do what's good for them and not good for the team you know I mean what's good for for Jaylen Hurst to protect him and to run the football right to to be able to let that defense be able to rest because that's the biggest concern the biggest concern is the defense I agree with you on everything point that you made on the offensive side of football but but hold on B here's what you can't do to Kell Moore and listen he's a former Dallas capit he's a Dallas I'm no fan okay I'm not gonna root for him but I'm just I'm just calling it like I see it Kell Moore when he was in Dallas why is he gone from Dallas because Mike McCarthy wanted to Big up himself move him out of there because he's the one that wanted to call Place swearing that he was going to do something totally different and then when Kell Moore departed and he was handed to Reigns he did the same damn thing Kell MO Mo was doing in terms of throwing the football instead of running it more that's number one so that's why Kell Moore was out from there he goes to the Chargers and remember he was working under Brandon Staley it's not like he's searching for a head coaching job not to say that he's not because I'm sure he wants one but the point is he's gone from the Chargers because Brandon Staley was there and we know he had to go he's gone from the Cowboys because McCarthy wanted to empower himself to save his career so we can't blame him for that we can't look at him and being in three different locations and think oh it's because he's going all over the place he's trying to be a head coach can't do that to him y okay I'll I'll um retract the statement then okay I won't I won't say that's the reason right but when you when you look at it my big concern is can Vic vanio can Vic vanio get this defense to play at the level that which the talent on that side of the ball um you know suggest right Devin white they couldn't they couldn't stop the run they got beat up and when you think about teams in the NFC you think about how well the Lions can run the ball how well Green Bay can run the ball there been no issues with as a defensive coordinator well last year the no issues with him as a defensive coordinator only as a head coach last year the Miami Dolphins Wen necessarily knocking the door down we weren't we weren't tting how great the Miami Dolphins defense was last year right we have to figure it out we thought and then you talk about Nico Dean as great as how Roseman is and all all the players that he brought in NOCO Dean hasn't been the player that they expected at the second level so they find their themselves searching if you don't have a middle linebacker it's tough to be effective in his in his league and you talk about guys that can ground and pound and keep that explosive offense off the field that's my biggest concern defensively can they get off the football field defensively can they not be a liability I I yeah uh go ahead St yeah that they're not gonna be listen b and I'm I'm G hand it to Doggy here the eagles with 26th in Total Defense 30th in scoring defense 31st against the pass they can't get worse they can't get worse there's nowhere to go but up 100% Stevie uh I think you guys hit I think we're on the same page with the Eagles I mean you know San Francisco and Detroit based on last year in the championship game Lions everybody loves San Francisco still has plenty of talent so you still have to put those two teams as their favorites Dallas has come down a notch because they've had an inactive off season I mean I don't know where else you're not taking a team out the NFC South you're not taking the Giants or Washington so that eliminates them I mean I don't know you're not taking Arizona or Seattle the Rams pretty good you know and the Green Bay is pretty good but I mean listen the Eagles are right in the mix they got great receivers they got a very good running back they got a pretty good offensive line Moore is a pretty good offensive coordinator the quarterback has won everywhere he's been you're right about the defense and the schedule's tricky they play the AFC North but the Eagles are in the mix I think that's the safest way to say it are they the favorite no are they the best team would I would I put money on them to get to a Super Bowl I'd have to think about it if the odds were good
