LATEST UPDATE: NICK CHUBB TO MISS START OF SEASON ON PUP LIST; JA'MARR CHASE YET TO SIGN NEW DEAL!

meanwhile we have a developing story in the NFL literally as we are sitting here Adam shefer with news Well green no huge surprise here but the Browns are expected to leave Nick chub on the pup list which would make him ineligible to play the first four games of the season and it would make him eligible to return in week five if that's what the Browns want to do now they have said they're going to bring this along slowly make sure they're very careful with Nick chub and the expectation still is that he will play at some point this season but at not going to be the first four games of the Season he's going to be left on the pup list give him more time to rehab that knee injury that he suffered last season on Monday night that's the running back situation there are also some questions about the quarterback yeah listen didn't play in the preseason finale but all signs point to him being ready for opening day now let me take you back to two weeks ago Kevin stansky also said he expected that Deshawn Watson would play in the preseason finale had some shoulder sorness they decided not to play him in the preseason finale but I think the regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys is a little bit different than the preseason finale against the Seattle seu all signs point to deshan Watson being out there he is expected to play on opening day so we should see Watson we won't see chub let's stay in the division we've talked about the Steelers we've talked about the Browns let's go to Cincinnati and talk about the Bengals the big questions continue to be at Jamar Chase's C and whether or not that situation could derail the Bengals Super Bowl hopes now a big deal was made of the fact that he's been in Camp and not practicing with his team until yesterday when he did seem to be going through some of the workouts with the team for the first time shefy what should we make of that well he's done some of their light walkthrough work but my understanding is that this was a sign of good faith as they continue to try to work towards a long-term deal it doesn't mean because he was back yesterday going through a walk through that they're on the verge of getting a deal done they could get a deal done but they're not at that point just yet both sides I think are working and would like to get a deal done but he was going through the walkthrough practice with the idea that that regular season opener against the New England Patriots is now under two weeks away two weeks from yesterday and so he's starting to ramp back up still with the hope that this deal could and will get done and maybe maybe if Dallas and CD lamb can figure it out M that would be one more Benchmark for the Bengals and Jamar Chase to work off of I don't know that they would need it but it's certainly not going to hurt the situation any if that deal also gets done was a part of the walk through I don't know that a deal is a whole lot closer but that was an encouraging sign that at least he was going through walk through yesterday a reminder he is in the class after CD lamb lamb and Jefferson were both drafted the year before Jamar Chase so he has one more year left on his contract very quickly let me get my my guys on this one as well Dan Orlowski the question is could the Jamar Chase situation derail the Bengals chances of being the biggest Contender maybe the biggest threat to Kansas City in the AFC how do you see it no no I'm just joking of course it does of course it does I mean he's one of the best serers in football all these holdouts do I I do think that Cincinnati's a little bit different than Dallas Cincinnati can weather maybe a week or two because T Higgins really plays like a I'm a huge believer in Germaine Burton they drafted SOA who's in their second year at wide receiver so I think this is the best offensive line Joey bur has ever had so to win a Super Bowl absolutely need Jamar if it goes to week one or week two I think they have a chance to survive a week or two of of no Jamar chase you see it the same way yeah listen personally I think Baltimore is the is the you know the the biggest Team U for the Kansas City Chiefs um but they they man it is different than than the whole CD lamb situation I will say that yeah I mean Jamar Chase may be just as good as CD lamb but his team around him may not need him quite to the same level let me leave that there for the moment we have so much more NFL to go but I want to go back to Saturday what a thrilling opening to the college football season did you watch all of the drama in Ireland Georgia Tech the huge upset to open the year knocking down Florida State 24-21 in Dublin on that last second field goal goal Georgia Tech's first win over a top 10 opponent since they beat Florida State in October of 2015 and so the seals have now already equal their entire loss total from a year ago but this is why this is so important why I thought it was worth getting into their odds to win the conference are now 6 to1 that's fourth best behind Clemson Miami and NC State they were 35 to1 to win the national championship before that game coming back now ESPN bet has them at 75 to one which is very different than being a million to one which in a different universe or for every year up until this one is what they would have been let me bring Dan orlovski back and Paul Fine bam into the conversation on that and Sir Paul I think it's an interesting way of reminding I was watching in the postgame it was a good job I thought um Trevor matage and Sam AO did explaining that this is just a new world a year ago you and I on this day would have been talking about well say goodbye to Florida State Paul that's no longer the case no I mean they're not in great shape but the hyperbole Dame later that plays for the at large bid they also have Miami a number of other uh key games so including Clemson so they're they're in trouble uh and you know their fans will not be able to sue their way into the playoffs this year like they tried last year D that was that was the that was a that was well played that was the big question that I had was a Florida State team that had every reason in the world and I know that like half the roster turned over but that at every reason of the world they want to come out week one or in this case week zero and show everybody see you were dead wrong about us I thought they were going to come out and win this game by 50 points what did you make of the fact that they got beat the way they did yeah a lot of credit goes to Jord Tech and their head coach Brent key I mean they just outplayed Florida State really in the most important part of the game which was line of scrimmage in downfield and I think a big part of this greeny is if we're being honest one quarterback has really developed into a quarterback hannes King started at A&M now at Georgia and DJ just hasn't taken that next step in developing as a quarterback still a really talented thrower that we saw at Clemson and there was moments at Oregon State last year where you you you started to see it but that was the real difference in the game for me at the quarterback position one kid has really just gone on this trajectory and journey of developing at a as a quarterback and DJ still a really talented thrower of the football hasn't really consistent instantly developed as a quarterback and to Paul's point the schedule's a concern but also the performance at that position is got to be in that conversation as well that a very entertaining start to the season one way or the other I wanted to also get a perspective from you guys on this huge story out of Colorado and I saw so much written about it while I was away a Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler has been banned by Colorado football from asking questions of Deion Sanders a university me a media ation Stafford told the newspaper it took issue with keeler's references to Sanders as quote deposition Dion the Bruce Lee of BS and a false prophet and his use of phrases such as Planet Prime the Dion Kool-Aid and the circus so the uh the reporter in this case the columnist has taken a lot of shots at Deion Sanders in the program this is the statement from the University after a series of sustained personal attacks on the football program and specifically on Coach Prime athletic department in conjunction with the football program have decided not to take questions from columnist Sean Keeler at football related events meanwhile Dion then had this exchange with another member of the media on Saturday if I ask a negative question will you not answer them anymore that's being negative right now like you take an approach that I'm going to be negative I'm I'm not negative to anybody in here I would challenge you and ask you why or where is this coming from so I'm not I'm not built like that I'm not built to hate I'm not a hateful guy I'm not a I I come with love I think any if anybody in here has had encounters with me I don't come with the bull junk I come with the peace and the joy now when you show me where you stand I might have to change that a little bit so I'm not going to match your ignorance so that exchange on Saturday it is worth pointing out that Dion has unique language in his contract that says he is required to speak only with quote mutually agreed upon media I have been waiting anxiously to see if they could land the allpro wide receiver or if he would resign with the San Francisco 49ers however a new Contender has just entered the mix shaking up the entire situation well it's not really a new team it's an old competitor reappearing at the start of this roller coaster the Steelers were one of several teams buying for Aya over time teams like the Cleveland Browns Washington commanders and New England Patriots seem to bow out but now just before the pre-season finale the Washington commanders have jumped back into the race NFL Insider Michael silver recently discussed on San Francisco radio station K&B that Washington is once again a strong possibility for Ayu the Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels played college football with with auk which could be a significant factor in aak decision silver mentioned I wouldn't rule out Washington and I know there have been reports that the commanders are out but they just traded a receiver today Adam Peters and John Lynch obviously can communicate very easily on this that's the other team besides the Steelers that auk has honed in on as where he wants to go silver also added that the commanders and iok are not dead suggesting that Washington could still pull off a deal the Steelers 's offer for iok remains unclear but rumors indicate it could be worth up to a second round pick however with Washington re-entering the picture it looks like Pittsburgh might have a tougher time than expected if the Steelers can't secure iuk they are expected to continue their search for a wide
