Top 20 Quarterback Rankings For 2024 Fantasy Football

the NFL preseason is officially over which means we're not only that much closer to seeing real NFL action but we've also seen a lot from these quarterbacks to get some really firm top 20 quarterback rankings heading into 2024 so that's what we're going through today and of course I'm still giving away free FN hats make sure to go down there drop a like on the video subscribe to the channel and Allen is my clear number one over Jaylen Herz now with Josh Allen and Jaylen Herz really is just a belief of who the better player is internally I get it Jaylen Herz actually has more weapons than Josh Allen this year he really has for the past several years but even without Stefon Diggs he's got Dalton concade who I think is going to take a major leap this year and I think most people do expect that and obviously with Josh Allen and Jaylen herds they're both getting tons of rushing touchdowns on a yearly basis because they are both big enough and their teams do not worry about them getting injured at the goal line that's why you see a major touchdown difference on a per-year basis running the ball versus Josh Allen and Jaylen herdz and another running quarterback like Lamar Jackson who is a lot thinner framed and just a smaller quarterback so Josh Allen and Jaylen Herz you can organize them however you want to I just prefer Josh Allen because I think he has the chance to throw more passing yards than Jaylen herdz does and with momes I'll be honest with you guys internally I've had this battle like should I rank Mahomes over Jaylen Herz that's me personally like I said based on rushing upside obviously these two guys if they have good Seasons or better options than Patrick Mahomes but the only thing with Patrick Mahomes that makes me want to put him over Jaylen Herz is because I do truly believe something bad is brewing in Philadelphia I mean there's reports that Nick serani and Jaylen Herz are not on good terms that's not a good co that's not a good situation when your head coach and your quarterback are not on good terms and Mahomes or Andy Reid obviously you're an elite pairing and Mahomes is the only guy that really can realistically throw like 45 plus touchdowns that's in the cards this year with his first deep threat since Tyreek Hill with Xavier worthy he's not Tyreek Hill I'm not saying he's Tyreek Hill but he is the biggest deep threat that Matt Pat Mahomes has had since Tyreek Hill so I do think it's a real possibility that's why I love him in tier one cuz I think he has the upside to be a the quarterback one in fantasy now dropping down to our next tier right here here I've gotten Flack for this one this offseason I'm okay with it I stand up for this one I got CJ shroud at four one spot over Lamar Jackson now it's very similar to the argument that I just made with Patrick Mahomes versus Jaylen herdz which is that I think CJ Stroud has just a better chance of reaching 4,000 plus passing yards and maybe 30 to 35 touchdowns on the through the air than Lamar Jackson has not only are we have a history of Lamar Jackson just not being a very pass heavy thrower he's consistently towards the bottom of the league in passing yards and pass attempts thrown on a per season basis but we also are in a situation here when we look at Vegas Insider CJ strout is the projected number two leading passer behind Patrick Mahomes and that's it obviously he's got a ridiculous slew of weapons you've got Nico Collins who just got signed big he's going to be good tank Dell obviously coming in year two major connection there between the two guys and Stefon Diggs the veteran who's proven he's a good player I I have more of a belief that CJ Shrout has a stable floor and also a higher ceiling just based on passing yards that he could get with Lamar Jackson in particular I believe there's a lot that's being relied upon his legs because like I said his passing upside is just not very high so what if he's just kind of getting closer to the age where his rushing is not going to be as good I'm not predicting that I'm not saying he's going to be bad on the ground that's why he's at number five but I just worry about it cuz it's like he's getting closer to Third he's been injured up he's been injured the past several seasons so it's like how realistic is it that he's going to continue this ridiculous rushing Pace that he's on so that's why I have CJ strout over Lamar Jackson and I've got six Kyler Murray he jumped one spot ahead of Anthony bridon at seven and really the reason is because I had to reassess this one honestly with myself and when I finally sat down and looked at it I said to myself look Kyler Murray is not the most popular quarterback in the NFL obviously he's had like his love of video games maybe interfere with his NFL career I don't know you know what the deal is but I do know this Kyler Murray we have seen tried and true is a very good quarterback in the NFL we know that he is a good thrower we know he has a great arm we know he's very very accurate and we also know that his rushing upside when fully healthy is ridiculous even when he came in last year at the back half of the Year Arizona he turned them into a good offense top 10 in most most statistics towards the back half of the year with Anthony Richardson I get the upside I totally get the upside but I've taken very little of him on Underdog drafts on ESPN drafts you name it anywhere you're drafting I've taken very very little of him because not only do we have like a three or four game sample size from last year we also are in a situation with Anthony Richardson where I watched this guy during the preseason and he was really hot cold I mean he would laser throws that were incredible he's got an arm to throw through through a brick wall but at the same time he's missing wide openen short throws so there's going to be some growing paints and it's giving me Justin Fields vibes from 2023 I think he'll be better I think he's got a better situation better quarterback but we know with Kyler Murray we know what to expect with him and speaking of Anthony richon when I look at what his week one line is on Underdog he's at 29.5 passing yards now that doesn't sound like a lot right but when you look back to last year he only crossed that metric basically one week out of the year last year so can he do it this year I'm sure he will at some point but in this week one game versus Houston that Houston defense is going to be really good this year I'm going to take the lower on this one and starting at 11:00 and Joe burrow as my two clear favorites really in this tier Jordan love I really do believe is a little undervalued across platforms like I I would take him over Dak Prescot I would take him over Joe burrow because Jordan love just really has all the weapons and the situation is perfect for him so obviously he's got weapons that are really deep in the wide receiver room Jaden Reed Christian Watson Romeo dos and davan Wick what's funny about it is nobody can really come to a consensus on who the number one is there because there's not really an alpha but what we all come to consensus with is he's got really deep weapons and they're all good options so he's got all the wide receivers that he needs they're all really deep in depth he's also got a running back this year with Josh Jacobs that is going to take pressure off him similar to what Aaron Jones did last year just at a more consistent basis a great offensive line and a great offensive head coach so I just really don't see a world where Jordan love regresses and if he doesn't f finish at least like the quarterback eight that will be a regression for sure and then with Joe burrow right here what has made a lot of Joe burrow is that people are definitely lower on him this year and I understand why I feel I feel sort of like that not because he lacks weapons like losing Tyler Boyd does not lower him down in my rankings he's obviously still got T Higgins and Jamar Chase but Jamar Chase needs to sign that contract that's not the reason I have an issue with it when I looked into Joe Burrow's injury this offseason if you do not remember Joe burrow had a really weird wrist injury in like the back half of 20 23 season when I looked into it it was a very unique injury and surgery that he had to undergo and most of the time like if you tear your ACL as a player your recovery after the surgery is like a 90 to 95% success rate very high success rate with this particular injury what I found is it's around like a 70 to 75 to maybe 80% success rate after surgery so still a decent High number but that makes me worri for sure because what I also saw in that research was that the orthopedist was saying the real test is when he starts to get hit when he starts to get hit and he you know falls on the wrist that's going to cause some issues for sure and this is going to be a chronic pain thing that he's going to have to deal with that's the part that worries me here with Joe burrow but obviously we've seen him be elite we know he can give you 40 point games that's why I like Joe burrow still inside the top 10 and then to round out this year Dak Prescott and Jane Daniels I caught some Flack for not ranking Dak inside my top 12 last time and the reasons I provided were listen I think he's going to be more interception prone this year and I also believe that when you actually look at this Dallas Cowboys team what he is is basically a twisted ankle to CD lamb away from irrelevant weapons and that's not good for Dak Prescott he needs cidd lamb there I'm not predicting cidd gets injured but a lot relies on cidd lamb because if CD's gone even Jake Ferguson is not going to be able to shoulder the load for Dak Prescott to get what he needs to be a top 10 quarterback he needs to have a lot of passing yards he needs to have a lot of passing touchdowns and if he doesn't have CD lamb this is a problem that's why I've got him ranked at 10 because I do worry that he has to rely on one guy in particular and Jane Daniels here this is my big rookie prediction of the NFL season I love Caleb Williams we've obviously seen him we'll get to him here in a little bit but Jaden Daniels the unique thing about it is that when you look at the history of quarterbacks in fantasy football typically not a very friendly thing like CJ shroud is kind of one of the last good ones that we've had in recent memory in fantasy it usually doesn't go down like that what separates Jaden obviously from the rest is that his rushing upside is ridiculously high when I C when he came out of college I always thought his rushing upside was similar to Lamar Jackson not saying he is Lamar but what I do like about Jaden a lot as well watching him in the preseason watching him throw darts deep he's got a great deep ball and Just Darts that are really short and fitting it in The Tight Windows that gives me a lot of confidence in his arm so I don't think he's going to come out and have 4,000 yards passing but what if he comes out and he has 3,200 3,300 passing yards and maybe 20 passing touchdowns and like 600 plus rushing yards that will make the difference here and make him a top 12 quarterback and that's my big prediction for a rookie this year now dropping down to our next year here we've got our boring guys that are just really steady and have all the weapons that they need Jared G to a tu of vioa and Brock pery now with Jared Goff and Tua I think you can rank these two how you want to I prefer Jared Goff because I believe in Detroit's ability to get it done closer to the end of the season so the reason this is a big deal to me is because when you think about what your team is going to be doing in the playoffs if you're going late quarterback you want to make sure your quarterback is going to be producing at a high level towards the end of the season when you're actually fighting for a fantasy football playoff spot and when you're fighting to win a championship and just based on the weapons that are there in Detroit with the Monro St Browns Sam L pora the two running backs the offensive line and the coordinator I have more faith in the stability of that section for him to get the job done consistently with Tua I think his production is mostly front-loaded on the at the beginning of the season so I think Tua is going to start out the season much better than Jared G but I think as the season goes on the weather gets colder what we've seen from this Miami Dolphins team is they typically don't respond well towards the back half of the season the colder the weather gets the worse the Miami plays just historically what we've seen with Tua so I think a lot of his production will be front-loaded and he probably won't be as good as goth towards that end of the season that's why I prefer goth and then with Brock P here Brock p is probably going to be one of the most steady players this year in fantasy I think I think he'll cut down on the interceptions that he had last year and he's obviously still got the weapons here I think what worries me a little bit more with Brock py is his weapons aren't as young as the Detroit weapons or the Miami weapons right so if Debo Samos starts to age a little bit maybe gets injured George KD does the same thing they're kind of relying on like maybe Brandon hayuk being there and maybe an older Christian mcaffrey so there's a lot of issues that I have maybe that could pop up with their potential weapons here that's why he's at the bottom of this tier but obviously they're all still good options now dropping down to this next tier right here I've got Trevor Lawrence then Caleb Williams then Justin Herbert 15 16 17 with Trevor Lawrence here I like him the best here because I I do believe that his weapons are the best of the bunch between him and Herbert but he's obviously not a rookie so I do give him the edge over the rookie quarterback in this scenario right here now obviously Trevor Lawrence Justin Herbert Cale Williams they're all kind of in like this similar athletic class I would say where they all can move and they all can provide you rush rushing upside but they're probably not going to do too much of it on a consistent basis so a lot of it is going to be reliant on their arms what I do like about Lawrence this year is he does have two legitimate deep threats to this offense that he really did not have last year like he had two target guys Kirk and Evan Ingram he really didn't have a deep threat guy because Z Jones was not playing very much so now with Gabe Davis and with Brian Thomas Jr I like the potential of that downfield threat being opened up giving him more touchdowns in fantasy this year now with Caleb Williams obviously you've been watching him in the preseason he's made highlight throw after highlight throw I love Caleb Williams I'm so in on him in a dynasty league but the reality is is that with with quarterbacks as rookies again they're not super fantasy friendly it's just not not the reality so I prefer Jaden over him because of the rushing upside he provides but that being said him being down here at 16 probably ridiculous value if he was to be drafted as a 16th quarterback in a fantasy draft he's obviously got ridiculous wide receivers the only thing I don't trust is the Bears history with offensive players so I'm a little Leary of it but this could be viewed as a ridicul ridiculous value here and I could easily be wrong and I'm willing to be wrong about this one Justin Herbert at 17 obviously lacks the weapons but what I like about it is the situation is so much better than he's ever seen obviously with Jim Harbaugh coming in a quarterback and bringing along Greg Roman I think this system is set up to succeed with Justin Herbert the problem is I think next year when we take a look back and maybe they add another wide receiver they'll probably be looking a lot better but right now I don't trust just Herbert to provide big upside games like even in his own tier I I trust Caleb to have better games than Justin I I trust Trevor to have better games I think justtin nber will be pretty consistent because he's going to be really steady this year but just with his lack of weapons I struggle to see the big down downfield threat which does of course limit his fantasy upside now dropping down to our last tier right here I've got Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rogers my two old guys right here now with Kirk Cousins I feel like I'm the only one who has significant concerns like I could easily see myself removing him over like the next two weeks just seeing what's going on in my head KT cousins worried me late 30s coming off an Achilles tear the weapons are you know he's got Drake W and Kyle pittz who I like both of them but both of them are relatively unproven I would say so I believe this offense is going to be run first I've been kind of on the record for saying that for a while so I don't think it's upside it's is what it was in Minnesota I don't think they're pass first I think they're run first and that's what worries me about kurk cousins with Aaron Rogers obviously 40 years old coming off in ailles Te as well what I also seen from Aaron Rogers is that he came out and said training Camp's been hard this year now you can read into that however you want to another Jets player did say that on the defensive side of the ball so it's like maybe the training camp was just more brutal this year to everybody but with Aaron Rogers a lot relies on Garrett will wlon in this offense and I trust Garren Wilson to get it done I actually don't know how good we'll see Rogers I think Rogers best case scenario we see like 80 to 85% of who he was I just don't think it's realistic to expect MVP level Aaron roders at this point and I don't think anybody really does which is why he's usually down around this range in fantasy drafts and then rounding out this whole thing will Levis is my other big prediction this year will Levis I think either finishes here or he's going to be like a top 10 quarterback similar to a Jordan love type of ceiling now here's my thing with Will Levis the reason I've drafted so much of him on Underdog is because when you look at what happened last year they had obviously Mike Vel still in the building no real weapons at the wide receiver position dehop was fine but a lot of times just didn't provide much upside so will Lis like walked into a bad situation midseason and just didn't do well they fired Mike Vel a very good coach to go offensive first they got a lot a lot of new weapons Calvin Ridley's there they've obviously got Tyler Boyd there he's viewed as like the safety blanket by the way and they've got new running backs they've got Tai Spears in his second year and Tony Pard over there now so there's a and the offensive line is improved as well at least it should be based on what they spent this off season so this offense should theoretically be better and I think they are trying to make will Lis work as much as they can so I believe he's either a bottom 20 quarterback or he's going to be a top 10 quar back in fantasy this year wide range of outcomes for Levis so let me know what you think of the rankings in the comments below and if you want
