the United States Men's National Team has two massive tournaments this summer the first one being the 2024 cup America to be hosted in the United States of America and the other one to be the 2024 Olympics that will be hosted in France Mexico only has one tournament because they didn't qualify for the Olympics and the same goes for the rude Canadians well it just sucks the suck and boy do they suck Now understand that the Olympic Rock is extremely complex to predict but don't worry we got this here today I'll do my best to try to predict the US Men's National Team 2024 Olympic roster and it will be based on all the information that we have out there and my sources yes I have sources I swear I really do hi if you're new here on filipo and welcome to Tactical manager TV and welcome to the US Men's National Team 2024 Olympic roster prediction video oh my God that's a very long title and you may be wondering why did I say that this is such a complex roster to predict so before we start let me explain the Olympic roster is allowed to have just 18 players so it's not a lot for context the 2022 World Cup allowed 26 men rosters and in the 2018 World Cup they allowed 23 men roster so an 18-man roster is actually brutal for the players and coaching staff which also increases the the importance of having versatile players in the 2020 Olympics played in Tokyo they actually expanded and allowed 22-man rosters for the Olympics but it seems like they have moved it back down to 18 why you may be asking it beats me I I don't know I think it's stupid it's moronic 22 men rosters are already kind of short like the Copa medic is going to be 26 but they went from 22 back to 18 18 is is horrible but I don't make the rules and out of those 18 players at least 15 of them must be U23 which means born on or after January 1st of 2001 you can also bring up to three players over the age limit and keep in mind that clubs are not forced by FIFA to release players to this tournament specifically which makes it kind of tricky to predict who will be there or not Europe will be in preseason while MLS will be playing their Mickey Mouse tournament the leagues cup you know an 18-man start with the goalkeepers since it'll be just an 18-man roster the teams will only bring two goalkeepers for the United States it's likely between Patrick Schult from the Columbus Crew Gabrielle sonina from Chelsea and Chris Brady from the Chicago Fire and it's probably going to end up being Gabrielle sonina and Schult for this one specifically Schult should be the starter MLS Cup winner recently made it to the conera Champions Cup Final that will be played in early June he's more experienced more mature and he seems to be far more developed than Gabrielle slonina which makes sense after all he is 3 years older maybe slonina has a higher ceiling maybe but one thing is for sure right now Patrick Schult should be the starter from the Columbus Crew and again he plays for the Columbus Crew and Gabrielle sonina belongs to Chelsea but he played this entire season in Europe for oen in Belgium next up are the center backs and I believe that we will only bring three center backs and I know it's low but again remember they put this stupid rule that you can only bring 18 players and center backs that's probably the main issue we have with Olympic aged players which makes sense right center backs take a bit longer to develop to mature and it's our main weakness however Greg berhalter did say that Austin trusty and Walker Zimmerman were being considered for the Olympics on top of that both of them were not in the cop Amer roster as of now so I think two of the overage players that we're going to bring will be center backs and they'll probably be Walker zimman and Austin trusty with that said who will be the third Center back who could it be and I think it's between Max Millian diet from F that plays in the second division of Germany or Jaylen Neil that has been back and healthy playing for the LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer Neil even played the Gold Cup for the US Men's National Team Senior Team back in 2023 diet was dealing with a muscle injury late in the season in Germany so I don't know he should be fine for the Olympics but I do wonder if that can affect his status as for jayen Neil he has been back and is starting for the Galaxy I'm going to say that the 22-year-old center back from fth diet will make the roster as long as he's fully healthy he was with the Olympic team the past three camps and he's a pretty good Center back so just to recap the three center backs will be Walker Zimmerman from Nashville Austin trusty from Sheffield and Max Million diets from F and now before we continue a quick word from the sponsor of this video have the fullbacks and I believe we're going to bring three three fullbacks for the 2024 Olympics and one of them is Brian Reynolds and he should probably be the starting right back he had a good season in Belgium for westerlo and he turns 23 this summer John token is another name that is expected to be there he will likely be the starting left back token turns 22 this summer and he's currently a left back for the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer now I do rate Caleb Wy from Atlanta United higher than Nathan harriel from the Philadelphia Union or at least I see Wy as a higher ceiling player however Hario might be the choice here he can play right back he can play left back which as I said before versatility is extremely important for this 18-man roster he would essentially be the backup for both fullbacks also keep in mind that Hario is 23 Wy is 19 he has been around much longer so I believe he will be called in for the Olympics unfortunately C Caleb Wy will miss out also one of the Wingers that I'm going to list later in this video can play left back if needed so I firmly believe that Caleb Wy has a very low shot on making it to the Olympic roster so just to recap I believe the three fullbacks will be Brian Reynolds from westerlo in Belgium John tolken from the New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer and Nathan Hario from the Philadelphia Union the midfielders right and the total amount of midfielders that I think that the United States will bring to the Olympics will be five the first one being tenor testman the 22-year-old central defensive midfielder from Veneta and the other one being Jan kusio the 21-year-old Central midfielder or Central defensive midfielder also from venet at the time of this recording venet is still battling for a promotion spot in the cad the first division of Italy if they don't win it well then they're going to still be in the second division of Italy next season Aiden Morris is the other player I want to talk about about here because I do think he will make the roster he is from the Columbus Crew he currently plays for the Columbus Crew he's 22 years of age he can play the six he can play the E whichever one you need he did also win MLS Cup last season with the Columbus Crew and at the time of this recording he is set to play in the conaf Champions Cup Final against pachuka June 1st the other player that I want to talk about here because I think he will make the roster is Jack mcglinn a 20-year-old midfielder from the Philadelphia Union he's very technical has a killer left foot can shoot from long range great passing he just has two issues in my opinion one is that he ain't great in tight spaces he's really not good when under pressure and the other issue I have with this game is that he's just very slow like seriously very very slow and the fifth midfielder or last but not least we have Paxton arenson the 20-year-old attacking midfielder from in back Frankfurt he can play the 10 he can play the eight and he can play as a Winger if needed we even saw him play as a false nine with the US Men's National Team u20s but I don't think that'll happen in the Olympics he went on Al loan to the Dutch league in January and played quite well he's now expected to return to inak Frankfurt in the Bundesliga for the 2024 2025 season so just a recap here are the five midfielders I just listed tenner tesman from Vena Jan lusio from Vena Aiden Morris from the Columbus Crew Jack mlin from the Phil Adelphia Union and Paxton Aronson from inak Frankfurt now listen Danny Edelman the 21-year-old Central defensive midfielder from the New York Red Bulls is another option that could make it to this roster but I'm going to go with the five that I listed there are many other prospects like Ruckus pukas OED Vargas that I can keep listing but I'm pretty confident that the five that I mentioned will be the ones to go now if one of them is injured and they can't make it then I think Daniel Edelman that plays for the New York Red Bulls will be the one to replace him next up we have the Wingers and I believe we're going to bring three Wingers to the Olympics and just like the midfielders section I think I'm going to get all of these ones right the first Winger being Diego Luna that is currently 20 and plays for Ral Sal Lake and Major League Soccer he can play wide and he can also play as a 10 if needed just like Paxton arenson in previous rosters they listed him as a forward which means they listed him as a Winger and that's why I placed him here in this section for this specific video the thing with Diego Luna was that he really stood stood out for RSL late last season now this season he hasn't really performed well or at least not as well as I expected him to do so but it seems like he's slowly getting his mojo back for RSL the other Winger is Kevin Paredes he's currently 21 and became a starter for wolburg this season he played roughly 1,400 minutes in the Bundesliga and also scored three goals he didn't really become a starter till halfway through the season so I would expect his minutes to be higher during the 2024 2025 season pedes is among the best players in this roster and on top of that he can also play as a leback which he has in the past as well and when it comes to an 18-man roster that can come in handy and I know that I'm repeating this quite a bit but versatility will be very important when you have an 18-man roster the last Winger will likely be Griffin ya he had a really good season for West sterlo in Belgium scoring six goals and getting four assists in 20 games and if you play him on the right wing there should be some good chemistry between him and Brian Reynolds because they play for the same team and Griffin Yao will be there and he might actually start for us on the right wing I do want to mention a few players that could also make the roster in case one of these three players are injured so let me give a few shoutouts one of them is asmir bakovic he's super talented I really rate him but he's much younger he hasn't really had a breakout season in MLS but the the footwork the flare the technical ability to me he has a higher ceiling than all the Wingers I mentioned in this video but right now he's not as developed so he's not better than them at the moment the other Winger that has gotten called in quite a bit is Kate cow he's been called into a few Olympic camps but I don't know he had a pretty bad season for Chivas he also had a bad season in MLS last year so I just don't see Kate cow making this roster Luca kosho and Fidel Barajas also deserve a shout but as of now one seems to be leaning towards Italy and the other one seems to be torn between the United States and Mexico so just to recap the three Wingers that I think will go to the Olympics are Diego Luna that currently plays for RSL and MLS Kevin Paredes that currently plays for walsburg and he's a former DC United player and Griffin Yao that currently plays for westerlo and he's also a former DC United player last but not least before I give you the list of players that are age eligible but will not be there because of the cop America we have the center forwards and I believe we're going to bring two Center forwards to the Olympics the first one being Duncan Maguire that has been consistently called in and we know Orlando city will release him to the Olympics at the same time he is negotiating a move to Europe this summer if that happens I simply don't know if his new club would release him so I can't really predict that now the other player that I think will make this roster is actually the third overage player we had trusty we had Zimmerman and I think the other one will be Brandon Vasquez former FC Cincinnati and now Monteray player because Greg berhalter did say he was being considered as one of the three overage players alongside Walker Zimmerman and Austin trusty for this Olympics we also don't have many options so I can totally see Brendan Vasquez being called in and Monterey from league achis would most likely release him I was hopeful to see Ricardo Pepe in the Olympics and I would also love to see him make the roster over Duncan Maguire but Pepe has been included in the cop America roster and even though US soccer could contact Ernie Stewart at PSV to release him I doubt it'll happen so the safe bet here for this prediction is Duncan Maguire from Orlando city and Brendan Vasquez former FC Cincinnati and currently a player for Monteray in Mexico as an overage player now before we close the video you probably should hit the like button right now but there's still one thing I want to talk about if the United States Men's National Team was able to get all their age eligible players released for the Olympics they would likely be among the favorites to pull a medal I am serious I'm not joking because we would have some really good players and most national teams don't send their best the same way we won't be sending our best without our best u23s it's possible that we could fight for a medal but it's not likely it's essentially the roster I just gave you throughout the video and you can let me know in the comments section down below could that roster get a medal or not so hear me out here are a few names that are age eligible and could go to the Olympics but I am 99.9% certain that they will not gioa Unice Musa Joe scall ferin balagan Johnny cardoo Malik Tilman Ricardo Pepe all these players I just mentioned they are age eligible for the 2024 Olympics now add these players and three good overthe age limit players like pulik McKenna and Tim Ree and boy that would be one heck of an Olympic roster but that's not what we're going the 2024 Olympics and just so you know my opinion I still have to see the roster of the other teams see who they're bringing but I think with this roster that we're bringing at best we can fight for a
