reporter Aaron Andrews College Football on ESPN is presented by Nissan proud partner of the Heisman Trophy we've got a great one today between the Baylor Bears and the UTS of Utah [Applause] and here come the [Applause] Utes for Baylor they've got their work cut out for him here today the difference is between these two football teams isn't so wide that the outcome is a foregone conclusion I could definitely see a surprise here today for Utah the quarterback has got to keep tabs on this outstanding linebacker the running back in the opposing backfield is a stud so his support in the run defense today is going to be vital it's time to head down to the field for the coin toss now presented by Nissan proud partner of the Heisman Trophy the kickers got the ball set up and we're ready to get this thing started sends it sailing downfield no chance for a return will come out to the 20 for Utah what are you looking for from their offense don't expect a lot of home runs from this offense at least not at first this is a pretty controlled consistent attack and while they do put the ball in the air quite a bit they use a lot of underneath and quick outs look for the deeper stuff later on once they've worn the defense [Applause] down we've got a first and 10 ball on the 38 yd line he looks to throw on first down here's a throw and I don't think he got anything on that personal foul face mask on the [Applause] defense first down from the 45 yd line it's first down on the delay they'll bring him down for a loss on the play the defense was all over that draw play they got very good containment on the halfback he had nowhere to go with the foot football and they've got all their DBS in there to match up against the five wide set back pass and it's knock [Applause] down third down and they need to get it down to the 35 again he'll get the call sa run up the gut you admire their faith in the running game but a pass might have been the better way it's away and it's a booming punt little too much into that punt they'll bring it out [Applause] 20 they'll set up shot at the 20 first and 10 [Applause] first down looking to throw qub and he's got room to work and he is drilled at the 35 hey sometimes the defense does everything right and they still lose that time they had which left no options other than for the quarterback to take off give tail back they'll get him for a loss I think it's safe to say the defense had his it can be very frustrating for a running back back stop before he even gets going from their own 32 yd line it's second down throws to the tail back I like the scheme the defensive coordinator came up with all over the place on that left quarterback nowhere to throw it it's Absol absolutely deing down there drops back pass he gets hit Out of Bounds at the 47 man that was such a good job of reading the coverage and knowing where his receivers are in coach in the country would be thrilled to see that kind of composure especially on third down here's to the wide out they'll bring him down at the 49 they pick up at the most four y the screen play [Applause] looks to his receiver first down there's a flag down and it looks like this one coming back that one's going to put him way back you just can't block a player from behind like that or it's going to cost you from the 48 yd line Second down throws complete I'm not so sure he made the best decision that time time that was a pretty tight trying to throw that one in and this crowd is going crazy they keep it on the ground with a tail back good solid defense there to force him into a fourth down situation fourth down the field looking to kick this one away and this one is a beauty this one's going out of the end zone for [Applause] the start at the 20 first down 10 yds to go it's the tail back and there's a penalty on the [Applause] play that penalty drives him back and they're shoot in the foot here well if they could just keep their concentation they'll avoid situation like that so first down once again a long to go after the penalty it's [Applause] complete the flag good [Applause] feeling first and long now after the penalty and it's knocked [Applause] away second and long on the seven yd [Applause] line they'll knock him for a loss I like the combination of speed strength that this cornerback play he's a real valuable part of the defense looks to pass it's broken up well def it's all there what the defense did had to do three and out and now get the offense back on the field he really got a hold of that [Applause] one this one might be coming back let's check the [Applause] penalty that's frustrating for a coach when you preach fundamentals every week and then have someone called for clipping penalty really is going to set them back R complete he's got space to work and he tackles him hard at the man did he ever sell the run the defense took the bait and hesitated enough to give the receiver room to make the [Applause] catch with the run and he makes it out to about 44 yd line a couple maybe three [Applause] y drops back to [Applause] pass third down now they need to get it down seven empty backfield quarterback in the gun five wide receivers he drops back throws it out and it falls in he's unable to hit his he over yeah and that's a throw he should make every single [Applause] time and it goes out of Bounds at the 5 yd line and he got to be happy with that punt yeah Brad that was nice and now they're a long way to go even score every Drive is important in a tie game I look for both sides to come out with some urgency play action catches it and he's looking for more and he's taken down at the 33 what a pretty pass play this is just play pass the defense here bit on the fake just the quarterback to find an open Target the result is a big Gainer first and 10 ball on their own thir three and his receiver dropped it incomplete from their own 33 second down looking to throws down and he's knocked out of bounds the 41 first down drops back on first down passes the back incomplete so it's second 10 ball 41 taken down in the back field so they end up with a l after calling the draw he started out rushing the passer and then just got lucky and ran right into running back on the draw complete across the middle great concentration [Applause] complete breakdown judgment discipline the types of mental errors that drive coaches crazy setting up the playaction and he's tackled right away about a 5yd pick up on playaction pass and it was a simple throw right back to the halfback who did a good job of getting some positive yards on the nice the middle gain of about four yards on the it's third down and two to go this is ninth play of this drive look to receiver touchdown and did that play ever done nicely all about the receiver on this he beat his man off the line and then ran a perfect throut all he had to do after that make the catch and the extra point is noan a set play 78 yd drive and put six on the board after missing the extra point so our score six nothing Utah is ready to kick it away and he got all of this one great kick one to come back to the 20 the offense will take over at the 20 Y Line and they push him out at the 23 only three yds there on the throw there was really just nowhere for the wide receiver after he made the catch great coverage play they're calling an audible throws to the tail back [Applause] incomplete from their own 23 yd line third down makes it and he's tackled short [Music] that's just too bad they made the stop but it keep the chains [Applause] moving he'll get the B again he fight about the four so they get on the [Applause] draw he tackles him for really nice play by the defensive lineman I like this guy an [Applause] instinct third down again he's looking to pass but way to look it in that is money in the bank sometime can't stop a good [Music] combination takes it right brought down right away and the backs got nowhere to go [Applause] he may have changed things up here drops back to pass there's a flag like this one's coming back that one will put the offense in a hole and they'll try to get some of that back on this coming from their yd line Second down and that was incomplete a good here by the quarterback and trying to squeeze that ball into a yeah I know it was incomplete but he didn't have too many other options feeling the pressure of football when a guy as big as this lineman gets his HS on a loose ball you can pretty much forget about it you're not getting the ball back [Music] from and they'll look to capitalize on the good field position here Che immediately it's nice to see the speed on the defensive side of the ball here that were able to catch the running back behind the line that's impressive from the 39 y it's second down and now the ball is loose Yep this is why you need to know where the ball is HS third down now and they need to get it to the 26 back to pass that's a great tackle at the 44 unfortunately I've taken a few of those in my day and they're not pleasant for the punter comes on the getting ready to send one off oh excellent H this one's going to be down in the end zone but touch from their own 20 yd line first down passes left it out to the halfback he's tackled at the 27 yd line a seven yd pickup on the screen play he execute screen play well here by getting the ball to the halfback they pick up some [Applause] yards they it off and they get nice yardage on that run some guys are dangerous no matter where they are whether they have speed elusiveness great vision whatever the case may be you have to ways to get the ball in their [Applause] hands there the play fake decides to tuck it in and he's got space sides down it's a great decision here by the quarterback not the force it there's nothing there the Run turned out to be equally as effective as a pass play anyway they're calling in audible drops back to pass tipped away did you see how quickly he cloned the ball and broke up pass you look for in a safety 42 Y Line it's second [Applause] down tackled after decent pickup fou first first and 10 ball on the Y Line option right there's a flag on the you probably heard it said there's holding on it's just not called I don't think it's that prevalent but you can get away with it some sometimes and other times you can't bring him down [Applause] behind first down we've got first and 10 ball on the 18 yd line now they run that a nice tackle right there he gains a couple of yards on the [Applause] carry and it looks like they're going to bring some heat takes it left on the option and got to him before he can get back to the line first defense first down first down threatening inside the 10 they'll run the option and they hit him in the back field I always think that the option can be tough in so that was a great effort by the defense [Applause] we've got second and goal ball on the 13 yd line well as they take a look at that injury on the sideline let's see this backup can do a quarterback looks like an option here and he's stopped behind the line the entire defense collapsed on that run and got penetration into the back field nice job safety to clean up the mess he's change things up looking to throw he goes out of bound at the Y [Music] [Music] Line so the referee initially calls it a cat we'll get a second look at it here and to if he was in bounds when he hauled in and that play happened so fast that it was very tough to tell if he was able to get get a foot down or not well I know the receiver isn't too happy they got it right after no catch and it's wide left no good every time have a chance finish a drive with points to capitalize that time they couldn't come through and our score six Baylor nothing they'll take over 20 first and 10 St ahead on the G there's nowhere to run did you see how quickly he was able to get into the back field make that tackle not many that big move that fast again with the he makes his way to about 38 this guy just made those 10 yds look [Applause] easy third ball in the 28 looks like someone [Applause] will holding on the you know the offensive play calling wasn't on that last drive and their execution was lacking it's away and it's a booming [Applause] punt flag down and I'm not sure when it will find out the he did a good to give his team decent field position first and 10 ball in their own 38 they go with the option they bring him down in the back field once he saw it was a run made a great break on the ball and used his speed to make big tackle [Applause] down and 14 ball yard [Applause] line drops back to [Applause] pass third down 14 yard to go ball at 34 looking to pass find his receiver who's all alone heading down at the 38 this quarterback doesn't seem to be having any trouble with his Zone does he he recognized the receiver was behind the coverage and he found him with a perfect strike that's nice passing for a first down hand off to the right runs right for a nice game [Applause] swatted [Applause] away third down and they need to get it to the [Applause] 28 halfback screen incom so they're going to go for it here drops back to P pass is tipped away and the defense comes [Applause] through the offense will over 34 yd line first down 10 to go they'll throw on first down looks to the back and can't connect second down 10 to go ball in 34 he fights for the [Applause] first down from the 49 line it's first down he'll get it again he makes his way to about 38 so with run they another first this nice job again front by the offensive line they're doing a good job of neutralizing the defensive front and it's allowed them move the ball down the field from the 38 yd line first down and it back gains his way to the 20 yd line [Applause] from the 20yd line it's first down nice yard on that [Applause] run Utah is trying to make this a two-score game drops back to pass gave him little time to make a decision so he made a bad one that's when you just throw out of bounds or takes [Applause] sa a little too wide incomplete he made the kick but it was outside white line this quarterback has to just settle down and get feet underneath he took theer clearly out of bounds that kid had no shot to make the catch referee is going to take a look at several angles now remember he's seeing the same thing we are and he needs indisputable video to overturn the call so they'll over and rule this a complete bad call made on the field but they were able to fix it because of the replay this is exactly why the booth review is a great thing for college football a play 53 yd drive and it results in six and it was really those long runs that really helped Propel that drive so the score now 12 Utah lines up for the kickoff he hits a booming kick and they can forget about returning this one they'll start at first down 10 to go drops back to pass steps in the pocket now he shows his running ability down at the 33 yd line they'll get the first he made the correct decision to it and go trying to change the play [Applause] they'll throw on first down caugh nope it popped out incomplete it not a lot of fun but when you're a receiver You' got to be able to take some hit and hang on to the football it's just part of the game on the ground up the middle and he carries the ball for a nice G so the draw to the halfback picks up four [Applause] on the ground he is [Applause] Hammer oh man they've got to be frustrated I'm sure they were ready to get off the field now they've just the off a whole new set of downs here's the option and makes it to about the 41y [Applause] lense first down and we've come to the end of the first quarter with score 12 Baylor [Music] [Music] so it's first and 10 once again and they can down the field gives it right side tackle a loss the offensive line needs to do a better job of not only handling the defensive line but get up to the line Packers that way the ball carriers have a little bit more room to get to that second level he's looking to pass this one is batted away this guy is mostly used to run but here he showed that he's not too bad against the pass [Applause] either to pass we it out to the right here he goes flag on the play Let's see what it is it'll be third down again that penalty yeah now they have more yards to pick up for the first [Applause] down he drops back Rose intercept no he dropped it that bring up fourth and good sing kicker here good stand by the defense to keep them out of the End Zone on this and this one a beauty and this one goes out of the end zone so they'll bring it out to the 20 they'll take over at the 20 Jersey on that not too much argument about well if you want to ruin a drive grab a hold of a defender's Jersey long now after the penalty [Applause] fires right side go back and they make the stop at the 15 yd line a pick up of about three trying to get the ball into the hands of the halfback here and he did a pretty good job of getting a few yards but the defense was just swarming to the ball right there [Applause] nothing going on there pick up hard for the tailb with the defensive line neutralizing the blocks the linebackers are able to come up and make plays in the [Applause] holes run and he'll lose y that's going to bring up now just a great job by the defense these guys are disguising their defense so they're confusing the quarterback offensive line oh excellent [Applause] punt he makes it out to Midfield [Applause] [Music] from the 35 yd line it's first [Applause] down takes a hand off inside and immediately th there on the delayed [Applause] handoff they're changing the play it's batted down [Applause] incomplete third down now and they need to get to the [Applause] 25 it's not complete quick thinking there you know line put the ball on the air on thir so it's a smart play to keep your hands ready [Applause] booming kick and that play a dance is out of the ends for a Touchback they'll start this drive at [Applause] the hand off to the left nice run from the foul from the defense first down first and 10 ball on the 39 yd line short pass middle of the field and down he goes at the 44 y line but as you just saw right there the screen pass can be a very effective weapon for an off especially when they're disciplined and when the [Applause] receivers SP [Applause] away the 44 yd line Second down [Applause] he's hit and taken [Applause] down first down first and 10 and a real nice drive so far caught and he's hit him immediately a three- yd gain on the old screen P from the 17 yd line it's second [Applause] down run left side good outside run there [Applause] first it's first down they'll try to get it in from the fivey [Applause] line catches and he hits hard at the five a yard on the that time down the ball is on the four [Applause] here's the hand he's taken down for a loss the are sh that they're not afraid to come up and make a hit they aren't playing pass they know how to the play all the big boys are on the field now as both teams sets out [Applause] there the fullback and there and the fullback plows maybe a yard fourth down they'll line this up and it'll be about a 21 y he gets it up and it is good well that one looked it would be wide but he put it inside the upright yeah he fre that one in and he didn't have more than a couple of inches to Utah is lining this one off and it sails out of the end zone Touchback they'll take over it's first and [Applause] 10 pass gets it out to the half back they got yards on that one he took what gave him that time which is okay it keeps the yards to go a little bit more manageable they're call the half back with a carry and he carries a for a nice game the quarterback in the gun empty backfield five wide receivers in the formation the senior makes the catch at 40 flag down and I'm not sure when it was thrown let's find out clipping is the call and now they'll have to find a way to those yards right here from their own 40 line it's first down he drops back they'll bring him down at the 34 five wide [Applause] first down looking to throw he gets hit about 30 yd [Applause] line he may change things up here here's a give up the middle tackled right away [Music] [Applause] first down first down 10 y to go ball on the 15 yd line this defense is looking to make a three straight trips to Red Zone without a single point they'll make it inside but the defense is [Applause] ready first here they go Virg down by a couple of possessions he's looking to pass [Music] the halfback with Harry and he's tackled at yardage around five yard on the hand they put everyone up on the line blose football he picks it up and Dives and he's down that's a pretty big M will lose possession of the football sloppy job by the ball car first and foremost you always be concerned about and they'll take over inside the [Music] [Applause] five they'll take over at the [Applause] three gains his way to the 13 yd line this guy those yards look easy they line up at the 13 second [Applause] down option left they'll bring it loss on the play He Is time to snap count there and really made a nice play so it's third down now and they're going to need about four [Applause] they'll go option he tackles him for a lossing for this offense to go backwards but they've just got with it know that big plays will eventually happen it's Fourth Down looks like going to put it away [Applause] here and it's a booming punt he's taken down at the 44 nice yardage on the run back they'll take over at the 44 yd line we've got a first and [Applause] 10 he's tled 43 yd line he was lucky to get back to the line of scrimage on that scramble here the receiver needs to do a better job of holding his block on a corner there's no place for the ball carrier to go things up he's looking to pass quarterback's going to run it and he's got room to work it was the Umpire that threw the flag and generally that's a holding penalty these are the calls that drive a coach crazy senseless penalties can sometimes be the difference between winning in losing the [Applause] game throws to the tck away he really got a hold of that and this one goes out of the end zone so they'll get the ball here at the 20 out a five wide set looking to complete it's first down from their own 41 yd line it's first down to pass here's a throw and I don't think got anything on that a pick up of about three this gets sophomore he'll learn how to break the short catches into big games from their own 44 yd line Second down he's air long you don't want ever give your opponent a second chance that's exactly what they did by not making that [Applause] interception no catch he's out of bounds and the wide out couldn't drag a foot yeah but he showed really nice hands on that play it's away and it's a boom putt this bounces into the end zone this will be a touch back we've got first 10 20 back to pass little on the field and it these are the calls that drive a coach crazy senseless penalties can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing the [Applause] game here's a halfback he makes his way to about the 22 looking to throw he's out to the 30 and he's t at the 44 line and he has a huge gain yeah I like the decision making ability of this quarterback he looks and looks he sees nothing he didn't get rattled he sees some green in front of him and he takes off ends up with a great run on the ground with the tail back brought down after a nice the the right inside and Tackle quickly did you see how that big defensive line got such a good push play that's exactly why they're able to stop him the loss they're calling in audible but hold on we get a penalty on the play look it [Applause] up they've got a little conservative and predictable with their play calling credit defense with being up up to the task of stopping the run and this was a beauty and it goes out of the end zone for the [Applause] Touchback they'll get the ball here at the 20 run inside stop quickly a couple maybe three yards on that run we guy play and over the course of his college career he's made some spectacles nice [Applause] play drop back to pass trying to get it to the tight end but it falls to the ground over threw his man but boy did he have some heat on it he just needs to put a little bit more that pass the quarterback G empty backfield five wide receivers in the formation Rose and that one's going to hit the ground in complete they looked a little sluggish on that series I'm curious to see if they pick things up when they get the ball back it's away and it's a booming this flag came the Umpire that means this is probably holding that penalty drives them back and theirselves in the foot here well if they could just keep their concentration they'll avoid situation like that and they to him before he can get back to the line the D line did a good job of nullifying out the blocks up front and that allow the back for to roam fre and make the tackle in the back [Applause] field they'll line up at the 11 second [Applause] down here's a running play and he's level at the 20 yd line the delay G room to run and he was able to pick up about nine yards they're changing the play on the ground the T back flags are down and this one might be on the [Applause] offense that's not going to move the dicks defense played some sound football out there and did a good job of not letting them get into any kind of [Music] Rhythm he gets it away this is a really nice punt out to the 30 oh he got hail on that one and he was able to pick up nice yard the return they'll start at the 41 yd line for [Applause] 10 on the ground up the middle he gets out to the 47 yd line and the tail back broke that one very nice game give the offens Kudos there they blocked very well front to create the holes for this back from the 47 yd line first down the quarterback in the gun empty backfield five wide receivers in the looks to [Applause] pass he almost had it but it's [Applause] incomplete so it's second and 10 ball on the 47 that's a live ball the defense Scoops [Applause] [Music] [Music] it we got a first 10 ball on the 38 give to the running back and he's going to lose this guy's out of the stance so quickly that he's really a nightmare to try to block found out right here in this [Music] play from one yardline second down Baylor will call a timeout and they'll have two remaining it was umpire that threw the flag and generally it's a whole [Applause] penalty these are the calls that drive a coach crazy senseless penalties can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing the game B it away third down and they need to get it to the 28 he drops back and he can't get away from prer he was a Sitting Duck on that and believe me these defensive players love Sitting Duck they get this one off and it's a beauty the punt bounces first down 10 to go ball on the 31 [Applause] line here's the screen to the wide out tackle at the 35 the screen is good for four simple bubble screen here the did a pretty good job of picking up some yards before went down back to pass he's wrapped up for the sack from their own four yd line it's third down the quarterback in the gun empty backfield five wide receivers in the formation throw complete he's got space to work e to the 40 great effort here by the wi out to secure the ball and pick up some extra yardage drops back to pass off his hands an incomplete second down 10 y ball on the 47 yd [Applause] line Looks to pass completes it but he can't shake the defense they'll get six yards it's a decent pick up that time on a well-designed play looking to throw swatted away well that's one effective way to slow guys down getting between and the receiver it's Fourth Down the punter looking to boot this one away this is a really nice and that pun out of the end zone for a Touchback the offense will take over at the 20 first down 10 to [Applause] go they go to the ground game he gets out to about 22 yd line [Applause] brought down after a nice run up the middle [Applause] personl 10 all in 42 I guess he throw this one as far as he can and on first down in and out of his and we've reached halftime here the score at the 15 Baylor nothing Utah is lining up to get this second half and he got all of this one great kick and they can forget about returning this one for Baylor they've got catching up to do Aaron Andrews has more from the sideline thanks Brad it wasn't the that he's expecting from his team he blames himself for not preparing them better also said to look for them to the prises out there and for Utah they'll need to continue to add their turnovers from the first half Brad back to you they'll start at the [Applause] 20 back's going to run it he got room to work they'll bring him down at the 29 personal foul face mask on the [Music] defense first down first down 10 to go ball the [Applause] 44 Run play and HS well you think about receivers coming over the middle taking shots from this safety but a runner who's still in the back field this guy just flops all low field from their own 41 yd line Second down [Applause] they go the run and he's tackled in the back field loss never good for a back confidence to get tackled but guy knows that he's got to just keep at it and the holes will start to open up he's changing things [Applause] up he goes down down incomplete sailed over the receiver's head this can wing it that's for sure he just needs to improve on his accuracy oh excellent H it goes into the end zone down for a [Applause] Touchback go to work at the 20 yd line it's first and 10 [Applause] he drops back and they make the stop at the 27 he must not have seen anybody open on that play Nobody open on field but he's got to be careful I like his toughness but those kind of hits take a [Applause] to hands off left and he's brought out quickly a two- yd run by the halfback shortage situation here it's third and one they'll give it off here his 46 yd line the play was very well thed as they were able to get a gain first down [Applause] [Music] [Applause] here's hand off up the middle and no room to run maybe a yard on that draw play from their own 47 yd line it's second down pulls in and he's in the open field and he's taken down at the 39 shot the offensive line pick up the linebacker on the that gave the quarterback enough time to find his man for a nice [Applause] game looks for his running back incom so second and 10 ball 39 yd line [Applause] looks to pass caught and that's a first down first and 10 and this is the eighth [Applause] play Looks To the End Zone caught out of bounds incomplete he caught it but to get that one necessary foot in that's a catch and he just missed making a big time play and it's knocked away [Applause] defense Utah trying to go up by [Applause] three looks for the tight end but they can't hook up these receivers need to be ready because he's capable of really launching passes that one was just Out Of Reach [Applause] runs left and get back line of scrimmage those linebackers a great job of stopping the run but they need to be careful play action pass you can easily get fooled and give up some big through the [Applause] air looks to pass tipped away no for down coming up and give to the defense there they played very disciplined and were able to break up the [Applause] pass and he got it Utah is ready to kick it away kicks it off and he got all of that one and they can forget about turning this one they'll get the ball here at the the [Applause] 20 there are five wide receivers split out the in the gun to the right they'll wrestle him down in the back field I'm not even sure the ball carrier saw the corner for that happened so fast he never had a chance to make a move they're changing the play [Applause] he'll get it in they'll drop him for a loss I tell you for a defensive back this kid is a sure and he showed it right there back to pass and they for a sack on the play [Applause] after the sack it's now fourth and long they get this one off it's a beauty he'll take it from the e he makes it out to the 33 yd [Applause] line we've got a first and 10 ball 48s back on first down just throws this one away away he let that one go before the defense got and it fell incomplete well sometimes if you can say get rid of the ball it's your best option give to the tail back he fights forward to about the 49 and the halfback carries for a pick up of feet third down now they need to get it inside the 42 [Applause] catches it hit for No Gain excellent job here defense to sniff that one out before it turned into a first down it's Fourth Down the is on field looking to kick this one away he really got a hold of that [Applause] one out of the end zone so they'll bring it out to 20 they'll get here at the 20 empty backfield results in six Brad I thought the offense did a really nice job of mixing up the play calling on defense on its heels most versatility of the offense so our score 51 26 and this one's going to come defense but they have to be aware of this quarterback's tendency to scramble around and pick up some yards he's tackled at the 45 that'll push him to the 100 yard Mark and rece he poses a lot of problems for defenses with his size and skill and it's really come through with his receiving today he's at the 4 and it's knocked [Applause] away from the 45 Y Line second down [Applause] tackle made at the 43 yd line he gains a c the carry third down need to get it down to the [Applause] [Applause] 35 and this one's broken up nice by the de to bring up fourth down yeah instead of going for the interception they did the same thing and that was just top it away he gets it away and this is a really nice punt that punt didn't have a chance out of the end zone for a Touchback it's seeing this guy having another nice game well any coach loves to have a defensive leader who just knows the scheme inside out he's really extension of the coaching staff and like having coordinator out in the Huddle he can just relax play the game and be the leader this guy is just flat out a tackling machine you can always find him hovering around the football if you want to point to certain end of his reason why they're winning he'd be a good start I don't expect any once in a lifetime rallies here but that being said we could still see some exciting plays he's looking to pass it's bed down [Applause] incomplete for own Y Line second down there's a play incomplete out of bounds that'll go down as an incompletion because he made a really great play on the ball to make the catch [Applause] no he dropped it boy a golden opportunity missed defense that was a sure interception only to be dropped he tles for a loss if this off running at this guy they're going to have to reink some call complete hold on we got a penalty on the play let's check it [Applause] out these are calls that drive a easy senseless penalties can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing the game throws to the receiver incomplete and he Miser there yeah you're right this an area that he's worked so hard to improve since day one the accuracy of his throws he's improved but as you can see he's he really got a hold of that one and he's tackled yard line off they've been getting in Back Field quite a bit overall I just see a great teame effort they have been Relentless as a group and putting pressure opposing quarterback and anytime you can create that kind of pressure you're going to force an off into mistakes and we've already seen that few times and for Utah they also have the defensive touchdown to their the offense will over at the 32 first and 10 screen pass incomplete this running back runs out right to the back field but that pass was a little too out throws out to the running back [Applause] good from their own 32 yd it's third down pass almost intercepted man this is tough the quarterback next time out to just relax think back to all those practices and not worry dropped it the defense really missed a golden opportunity there that's what separates a good player from a great player when you have a chance like that you need to take advantage of it looks to pass Baylor 26 Utah is lining up to kick this one off no chance for a return it'll come out to the 20 the offense will start at the 20 first down 10 yds to go they'll give it off here brought down at the 28 nice blocking on the counter and he was able to pick up around eight yards less than three minutes in the game he fights forward to about the 30 and they keep it on the ground for the first down nothing too fancy here the key is that the running back was able to convert the first down he may have changed things up here and this one's broken [Applause] up from their own 30 yd line Second down a little more than two minutes to go in the fourth quarter he's looking to pass excellent open field tackle y makes it first and 10 drops back on first down runs with it and he's got room he's taken down at the 45 yd line they're eating up a lot of field on this drive I'm really impressed with their ball control nice run there as they work the [Applause] outside just under two minutes in the game he throws it a little too wide incomplete that pass led him just a little bit too far but still a great effort it's the ninth play of the drive it's third down just under two to go in the game he delivers they knock it down incomplete and that makes it fourth down boy great defense on that play they were expecting the pass and they defended it very well by getting a hand in there to break up the play fourth down the punter comes on the field getting ready to send one off he was able to deaden that kick perfectly and he gives them a long field to work with they'll go to work at the8 yd line first and 10 feeds it to the back flag on the play Let's see what it is so they'll move back after that costly penalty and they'll have to try to get that yardage back here a little over a minute
