BUT WE BEGIN WITH BRITTANY EDNEY, WHO IS OUTSIDE THE SCHOOL WITH THE LATEST ON THE INVESTIGATION. BRITTANY COURTNEY. RUSS. THESE STUDENTS HAVE BEEN THROUGH A LOT FROM SEEING FELLOW CLASSMATES AND FACULTY SHOT TO THEN HAVING TO PASS BODIES, LAYING ON THE FLOOR, COVERED IN PILES OF BLOOD. IT HAS BEEN AN EXTREMELY VIOLENT AND TRAUMATIC DAY FOR THEM. JUST IN THE PAST HOUR, WE RECEIVED AN UPDATE FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT. GOVERNOR BRIAN KEMP WAS ALSO THERE, AND HE SAYS THAT THIS COMMUNITY IS GOING TO GET ANY AND ALL RESOURCES NEEDED DURING THIS TIME. WHEN >>>>: SOMEONE PREYS ON KIDS, IT'S TRAGIC. LIKE I SAID EARLIE, HATE IS NOT GOING TO PREVAIL IN OUR COUNTY AND IT'S NOT GOING TO PREVAIL IN OUR STATE. AND PURE EVIL DID. WHAT HAPPENED TODAY. THAT'S ALL I CAN TELL YOU. I WANT TO CONTINUE TO SAY THAT THIS HITS HOME FOR US BEING FROM ATHENS JUST DOWN THE ROAD, MARTY AND I HAVING A DAUGHTER THAT TAUGHT FIRST GRADE JUST A FEW YEARS AGO, THIS IS EVERYBODY'S WORST NIGHTMARE. NEW DETAILS FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT ALSO INCLUDE CONFIRMATION THAT THEY HAVE NO EVIDENCE AT ALL THAT THERE WERE AN ADDITIONAL SHOOTER. THEY ALSO SAY THAT THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT THERE WAS ANY TYPE OF LIST OF SCHOOLS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN TARGETED. TODAY THE SUSPECT, 14 YEAR OLD COLT GRAY, IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD IN THE BARROW COUNTY JAIL. WE ALSO SPOKE THIS EVENING WITH A FRIEND OF ONE OF THE VICTIMS, CHRISTIAN, WHOM HE SAYS HE HAS KNOWN SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND ABOUT, AND HE SHARES WITH US TONIGHT WHAT HIS FRIEND MEANT TO HIM. >>>>: I WAS JUST LIKE, WHAT'S GOING ON? AND THEN I, I CHECKED THE FAMILY GROUP CHAT AND THEN THERE'S MY SISTER SAYING THAT THERE'S A SHOOTING AT APALACHEE, AND THAT'S HOW I JUST WAS LIKE, THIS ISN'T REAL. THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING. AND SO I STARTED LIKE, I STARTED ASKING OTHER PEOPLE IF IT WAS TRUE THAT HE HAD PASSED AWAY BECAUSE I JUST WANTED TO KNOW. I WAS IN DENIAL. YOU KNOW, BECAUSE YOU WOULD NEVER BELIEVE THAT SOMEBODY THAT YOU KNEW WOULD PASS AWAY JUST LIKE THAT. WE DO HAVE AN UPDATE ON THE VICTIMS THAT WERE TRANSPORTED TO AREA HOSPITALS FOR THEIR INJURIES THAT THEY SUSTAINED AT THE SHOOTING. TODAY, WE'RE TOLD THAT THE PATIENTS WHO WERE TAKEN TO NMC', BARROW AND BRAZELTON LOCATIONS, WE'RE TOLD THAT THEY HAVE ALL BEEN RELEASED. AND THERE'S ALSO A PATIENT AT THE GAINESVILLE LOCATION. THEY ARE STILL ACTUALLY THERE, BUT IN STABLE CONDITION. WE'RE ALSO WAITING RIGHT NOW ON AN UPDATE
