"In plain sight" | CUP DRAW SHAME | Carabao Cup designed to favour the 'bigger' clubs is shameful

[Music] yeah I think we let [Music] know west ammer of course through to the um third round of the caribel cup after beating Bournemouth at home in a thrilling encounter it wasn't very good was it it was a little bit drab that one it wasn't um the most exciting performances but I to be to give West Ham to defend West Ham in this I felt it was although we were struggling and we certainly did especially first half my word but we had a couple little spells but yeah it was very hard to watch at times but it was one of those games as well you mean I'm not just putting it down purely to West Ham it felt like that kind of game it was like both sides were a little bit like that it just it lacked that pace it lacked that that um zip about it it was a very sluggish Affair and quite tough and tight and it a bit bit of a gritty encounter I didn't it wasn't pleasant to watch I I didn't you know it and it was a bit disappointing because you know looking forward to these games don't you especially with new team new players you know you we want to get a bit excited and I am I you know I I've said it um earlier on before you know before we kicked a ball this season this is going to be a season of patience we're going to have to be patient Bes side and um that that was very evident in that game there's a lot of patience going to be needed with some of these players and our system and how we're going to work here it was a little bit tough at times I mean SBO you could clearly see is way off the place at the moment in terms of Fitness Etc he looks like he's struggling a little bit but it's understandable he hasn't much of a preseason so he's just joined the club he's moved country and he's he's still getting used to surrounding so you know you've got to give these people time and and you know they're not robots they're going to take a little bit of time to settle so I at the end of the day look West Ham are through beat bourou one nil I mean it was a bit of a dodgy old goal of course um off the old um arm of bone by looks of it I mean blood yeah they not made a me out of it though the media Christ Lord Mighty of that's as if like was you know I can't believe it was given but you know I thought it was a little bit bit over the top but anyway look it was it was a goal it's gone in it counts and we've we we certainly had the bloody um we felt the opposite didn't we when buou did this to us last a few years ago Ken Wilson I remember flicking in yeah I can't as if by Magic I think that BRS well there you go you get you come up at sometimes don't you so um swings and roundabouts um no we're through I'm always happy with getting through but I'm not here to talk about that really I mean I I don't think there was much to talk about in the game to be excited about really I'm more here to talk about the draw afterwards which was just so deflating um and for the wrong reasons and I'm not saying that because we've been draw against Liverpool um I mean that is crap I'm not I'm not happy about it because that's um you know couldn't be a worse fixure for us really is it anfield is just not a place we play well at we don't well play well at we don't we tend to struggle anfield we really do it's a tough place to go for any team but for some reason West Ham is in our DNA that we really struggle there so very deflating um not what we needed at all that's not to say I think we're out you know I'd like to think we're going to go there and give them a game and and hopefully we can advance but it's the fact that the way that this has been set up by the efl by the fa whatever the party the powers that be in football that have decided to make the League Cup a complete fix um a complete fixed um competition once again like football is becoming just a favor the big sides I I I am just exhausted with it I'm frustrated and I'm worried for football actually like I actually start to feel like where is this going this game now like because it's it's match fixing in plain sight it's not even it's not even subtle you know mean not like you can go well we tried to sort of maneuver it a little bit and to favor the big size but we don't want to make it too obvious this is literally completely obious by the way if you don't understand what I'm talking about because I know I'm waffling on there a little bit it's regard ing the um the the next you know the third round draw right and what they've done is the way they they they set it out was was the the home sides are the ones that have won that competing in the Europa Europa League or the the Champions League this season I.E Man City man united man united Arsenal Liverpool yeah they play at home and they won't play each other they're only going to play teams that have won through the second round so basically giving them a ticket effectively to the next round i' love to say you know it's a walk in the park Liverpool won't be thinking this is a walk going play West hand but that's not the point why can't it just be a draw a cup draw like a normal draw I'm sick of the fact that these clubs keep getting advantages when they've got the advantage they've got the advantage anyway they've got the advantage over everybody because the fact they're bloody Rich they're miles richer than everybody else they've got deeper pockets and can buy Superstars like willy-nilly you know I'm just so it it's almost like they've created this financial fair play thing right to try and [ __ ] the whole kind of like yeah well we're trying to make it a Level Playing Field it's all really good and you know this it's competitive it's all fair now what can we do now then to make it less fair oh I know that let's let's rig the draws of Cups so basically the likes of man united Man City Arsenal Liverpool that crap will now advance to the later stage of the cup as long as one of them wins it and they're in Europe then we're good I just it really really winds me up I'm I just ah I just hate it I really do I'm sorry I'm ranting about it but you know you can't help but be agree when you you see like I hate the word corruption but it feels like that do I mean it just feels wrong on every level it's just wrong it's just completely wrong like and H I'm I'm I'm really upset about it I I I wasn't um aware actually of that draw process I didn't realize it until last night so it really took me by surprise and it really upset me me and um yeah I I I just think it's something that as a football fan now you you worry you know what I mean you look at football and you think well where's this going then so what's what's going to happen in 10 years time what's what's the Premier League going to be looking like I wish they just bloody done the Super League do you know what I mean I really wish that they would just bugger off all these super clubs and just bugger off and play each other every week and get bored of it and have their billions of pounds and run around and and just do that and we'll just do what we're going to do because it is getting to that point now where it's becoming boring um where they're just so desperate for the bigger clubs to be successful they're going to be successful anyway do you know what I mean they don't need this they don't you don't need to keep making things more bent to help these clubs they don't need more help it's honestly it's wound me up so much um as you can probably tell um as I say you kind of think then where's it where is this all going where's the Premier League going to be in 10 years you know oh you won the Champions oh you're in the Champions League next year okay well that means every game next season you start one nil up because that's your reward you know what I mean it's almost like it's it's going that way we want you to win every match you know or you can play with 12 players now rather than 11 because you know you won the Champions League it's almost like what where's this going to end because that is literally where it was going right I'm I'm not saying that what I've just said gonna happen but you get my point it's almost like it's constant now like it's so every single year there's a there's a change to help them and I I I am really really fed up with it and it upsets me because the whole I thought the whole point when this whole financial fair play came around I really felt like oh at last you know what I mean at last we're going to start seeing some fairness in football I felt that about V when V come about obvious could we had the goal line technology didn't we and that was just such an immediate success we're like oh my God no more of this it would was it wasn't it you know it was down to a referee decision you what it's taken away now it's been done by technology um so when V came out I was of the opinion like a lot of people maybe yourself thinking like it was going to make it a Level Playing Field all right there's no more of that kind of is you know is the referee being pushed to give decisions a certain way if it what has been taken away now because we're all going to see this this special technology if anything all V is highlighted how Bloody ridiculous is because there's no consistency with it it's almost like now we're it's just obvious how you know use that word but you know what I mean how wrong the system is and that last night that draw was just another example of it it's like V we're getting it's like just look look how corrupt we can be look how wrong this is really disappointed really annoyed and I know I'm ranting and moaning about it but I you know it just deflates you didn't it you know what I mean just being bourou if you think right next round who are we GNA get who we gonna who we gonna have in this round and then oh you you can't play the likes of any Championship clubs or whatever you can't play um whoever you know you you're GNA have to play uh Liverpool or Man City away as well they have to be at home obviously I mean how wrong is that how wrong is that it's Tak it's it's the opposite of what sport is it's just yeah really annoyed so yeah sorry about this BR but I had to get off my chest and um you know I still you know really hope we're gonna go and do well but it's still really deflated me it really has because I said on the video before I wanted to take the cup seriously great opportunity for us a club that hasn't got Europe now we could go all out for a cup and it just feels like it's been taken away from you already it's like yeah no no no get back in your box West Ham you know let's just let's just make sure one of these big clubs win it you know let's do whatever we bloody can you know so it wouldn't be surprising now if we're out the next round because Liverpool way we always had a terrible record there and then it's on to the FA Cup and then let me guess what what are they going to do with that competition eventually because that's got to go down the same path in it you know I mean I wouldn't be surprised you know I mean that that follows suit so really disappointed really angry about it as you can tell um yeah sorry about that but uh you know who knows you might might surprise everyone beat Liverpool [Music]
