[Applause] welcome to Statesboro Georgia and what many refer to as the prettiest little stadium in America and home to the Georgia Southern Eagles but trust me it can get a little ugly if you come in here and you're not an eagle what an exciting matchup we have in store for you this afternoon built around the pageantry tradition and everything that makes college football great as we'll see a squad from the Mountain West the boisey State Broncos taking on a team from the Sunbelt the Georgia Southern Eagles for EA Sports college football I'm Reese Davis joined here in the booth by David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys let's get this thing started Georgia Southern will kick it off to get things [Applause] started from inside his own 10 let's see what he gets finds just enough space to cross the 25 let's mark it at the 27 yd line so boisey State's offense will start this game off and there he is a man who makes an entire Stadium hold its breath every time he touches the ball Jesse this defense better have a lot of breath in this game too because he gets better as the game goes on he's the kind of guy David who can wear a defense down and he is the primary focus that's what this defense is focused and keyed in on we got to stop him if we're going to have success today coaches always harp about staying ahead of the chains and when you can run with that type of efficiency on first down man you are doing just that the big pickup on first down leaves him with second and one to the air it's Nelson snags it over the middle to the 43 yd line and a first down for this offense I know we're a long way up here in the booth but guys y'all remember that ball you could throw that whistled that thing was whistling it had so many RPMs on it offense lines up for a first and 10 from the 43 keeping it on the ground with the single back a strong tackle and wrap up from the Junior and the running back didn't get much there nice job by the defense you can tell they're focused in on this running back on this run game being physical getting knockbacks and limiting his carries picked up two yards on that last one they need eight on second down out of the gun the running back has it at the 40 there he goes really putting together a threat now they get the first hits at the 37 I think it's really important for this offense they get this guy going early in the game and they're doing a nice job of that right now remember he's the kind of running back who gets better as the game goes on that's a really good omen for this offense considering his success now early [Applause] off the RPO complete and the defense settled in to stop that one for a short gain I love offenses and quarterbacks that are willing to take the easy stuff take those easy throws that are guaranteed to get positive yards yeah I'm going to take big shots down the field too but don't forget it's easier to pick up second and five third and five than it is when we start getting those long yard situations they'll leave it with him relying on that running game and it works for about three yards to the 31 here on third down looking downfield it's Nelson and he just throw it away that is not what you're looking for on third down fourth down coming up yeah and third and short that choose not to run throw the football and I think a lot of that has to do with they know they're in field goal range they can take the three points on the board they'll send out the kicker here he'll need to strike this one cleanly from 48 yds out knocked it right through showing that big range from 48 yd out I know one thing this head coach does does every week he challenges his guys to start fast and it's so important today playing on the road in this kind of environment you saw a nice drive they didn't get the touchdown they would have loved but still kicking that field goal and taking this early lead that's a statement for the visiting team so after the made field goal they'll kick it away and rely on their defense and he'll bring it out of the end zone he's brought down at the 16 would have been much better off to take the touch back so the Georgia Southern Eagles offense will go to work for the first time and what a great match up we have of two highly productive Runners David and I like the competition aspect of this like I'm watching what you're doing on the other side and I'm and the quarterback caught up two and sacked at the 12 and you can tell this offense wanted to create a little bit of space being backed up but how about the Deep coming out firing an all cylinders getting the sack on the very first play a first down sack can wreck a drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 they'll run the off tackle play here picks his way ahead he'll get five out to the 17 yd line it's going to be important this offensive line is able to get a little bit of push just got to give this guy an inch a little crease and he can make yards for it Georgia Southern in a hurry Williams will pass he finds his man and he's brought down after a nice game that's where we got to make this offensive coordinator feel call plays you get a completion on third down early in the game and he should be having a lot of confidence now moving forward this game the Eagles will have it first and 10 takes this hand off and headed to the right I know it's sexy to throw the football but if you can pound it away and get these kind of gains they will just add up wear the defense down get first downs and ultimately get some points 8yd pickup on first down leaves them with second and short touch pass on the Jet Sweep and the Eagles get the first down I love the idea and I love just finding ways to get your best players out in the open field this pre- snap motion and using it to their advantage on that last play I think that was a nice call Georgia Southern really offici on offense wide receiver shows motion the give out of the gun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a cover listen I know there are a lot of DBS out there that all they want to do is get interceptions and dance in the end zone this dude likes to put his face in the fan get close to the line of scrimmage and tackle and on the opening drive that he's out there he gets a huge tackle for loss early that is a statement play they'll give it to the back a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 just a simple power play power football be strong be big be physical make it a fourth quarter game make them feel you keep him off balance a chance to sort of put the defense on its heels if you convert a third and long this one from the 44 Williams looking for a man working the middle it's complete that'll be enough for the first down as they stop him at the 43 yd line third down understanding exactly where the sticks are you got to stop certain routes so they don't get to certain depths quarterback completes and gets another first down got to be a little bit more mindful of where those sticks are now on first down from the [Music] 43 he's looking to throw it makes the catch it's Burgin he's brought down solid pick up but a little bit short of the first down well we knew coming into this game this offense was going to try and get this receiver involved and get him involved early so here they are just finding an easy completion it's not a touchdown but they just want to get this guy lathered up and get him into a rim Georgia Southern in a hurry the run from the shotgun he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple and it wasn't lack of effort by the running back he was trying you could tell he fought one guy off but another guy in his face right away but just trying to do something the offensive line needs to do a better job keeping some guys off his guy come on man take care of your running back line is set on third down he's looking to pass they'll run the screen and they knock him down but he got past The Line Game and had they not picked up that first down it would have been decision time for the head coach right you're kind of in no man's land on the fridge are you trying along field goal are you going forward on fourth down but because of the execution there and the nice throw let's keep this drive going let's see if we can get six offense threatening first and 10 from the 31 [Applause] grab behind the line it's B didn't pick up a lot there moved it Forward just a few great play by the quarterback he was just way too physical at the point of attack he beat his man trying to block him and he tackled that receiver on the screen and here comes the offense on second down [Applause] Williams will pass finds his big tight end and he uses the stiff arm to push his way past the sticks and pick up the first down I like this tight end he doesn't a really nice job on his route run he's been beating man coverage he can find the soft spots in the zones got to get him involved Georgia Southern about to snap it on another first and 10 he'll keep it himself it's a fumble and the defense snatches it and theyve revers the field and I absolutely love the option but this is part of it right the quarterback has to make a lot of reads really quickly and then carry the football and take care of that thing so I think you know the fumble was caused there we don't know why but this is part of the option risk you run by running the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin they kicked a field goal on the last Drive Jesse they've got the lead don't make a dumb mistake but maintain your aggressive play calling yeah no doubt I think it's the play caller right now just taking a look at that script he's got in front of him and finding out where are my Playmakers who can we take advantage of on this defense to get a touchdown here bab yeah and just keep moving the ball down the field just execute a little bit better in the Red Zone there's no need to panic we're moving the football and we got the lead now the play fake trying to get to it one step W twep squeeze this junior knows how to get him on the ground that's the end of the quarter and boisey state has the lead guys let's have a look at the stats as we played one period now to see if these guys can get back in the game in the second quarter so third and short from inside the 20 you convert here and this drive takes on a different complexion throws for the tight end and they fail to hook up on third down and I like the aggressiveness on Third and short trying to throw the football take advantage of a that they got they weren't successful and now it's Fourth and short territory who knows what they're going to do and the Broncos will line up to punt it away getting our first look of the afternoon at the punter he's got great speed coverage team was down there to Coral him they made the Stop and they'll park it at the 39 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again using his legs it's white you want to talk about making it easy for an offensive coordinator you pick up a bunch of yards on first down make that second down really really manageable that's a great job by the offense Georgia Southern in a hurry Williams looking for a man got the Quick Pass he steps out of bounds but he's got a first down on the play I'll tell you QBs and receivers they practice these out routes all week long You' got to anticipate you got to be comfortable throwing it before he gets out of his break and they executed it perfectly right there to pick up that first they'll snap it from the 47 on first down he's going to pass all kinds of room to throw that one in there and they are finding some space in this defense he's got it down to the 25 we see another catch by this guy this defense is going to need to do a better job of tackling the catch in coverage I know they want to slap the ball away but if you can't do it and force the incompletion you've got to at least make sure you're able to drag him down to the ground as soon as he catches the ball it'll be a draw and he'll pick up the first down after a tough run there first down physicality with his football games being able to run the football and create balance and right here just chews up another first down gives you another chance to maybe continue to run the football and I feel like this guy too is just an explosive play waiting to happen his vision his quickness and he's got to burst if you give this guy just a crease he's going to hit it and right now he's doing some damage on and he'll take it in and house it touchdown Eagles and what did I start for this offer the throw game getting working getting the touchdown pass this quarterback getting a little bit of confidence this passing game getting in a rhythm nice start for this offense [Music] they'll try to add another to their lead and the extra point makes it seven to three a very efficient five-way scoring drive and the score comes on a 12yd touchdown pass the kickoff team out there getting set from inside his own 10 he'll try to help out their field position he was hoping for something a little more Dynamic but they get him on the ground at the [Music] 20 he leaves it with his back got to be smart patient great vision uses all of that to get to the 29 and a nice job by the running back finding space getting downhill making a good run great job finishing with his pads that kind of pick up on first down and you can take a shot here on second and [Applause] short from the shotgun they'll run it the Broncos pick up the first down and I don't care if I get it by two by 20 by 30 by 40 I I just I just want to get the first down understanding the situation understanding where the sticks are doesn't have to be sexy but I got to make sure I get to that stick get to the first down Mark and they'll line up from the 31 on first down on the run it's Genty shakes off a tackle great pick up as they'll keep this drive moving and they've got it at the 45 first down you know you always want to establish the running game how about this offense nothing fancy run the football be physical get a big game finally this offense starting to shake the cobwebs and get things moving it's first and [Applause] 10 they'll switch it up here and look to throw they're working that left side and the big fella couldn't elude the quarterback who makes a sure tackle that's why they got to keep running the football man because play action is going to be a big part of this game plan you've got to get this tight end over the middle of the field vertically and give him an opportunity because you just saw how dangerous he is after the catch trying to get a rhythm in the passing game now on second [Applause] down from the shotgun the inside g a strong tackle and wrap up from the junior oh man there's some big hitting going on in the trenches right now this defense they take a lot of pride in stopping the Run let's keep our eye on them throughout the course of the game and see if they can contain this running attack will they keep it on the ground again here on third down to the air it's Nelson he's got his man they'll move the chains good execution on third down they've got it at the 41 well that down in distance the quarterback's got to get rid of it so quickly right he knows the defense is going to be bearing down on him so a nice job catching the gun snap and then turning and pivoting getting it out of his hands quickly and accurately to pick up the first and the Broncos will snap it on First and 10 from the gun they'll give it on the inside crosses the 40 gets it down to the 35 before he stopped a gain of six yeah this coaching staff they're getting this offensive line lathered up and into a rhythm now they're letting them drive off the ball on first down on these running plays and they're getting chunks of yardage six- yd pickup on first down leaves him with second him four from the shotgun now here's an inside GI just couldn't get away from the tackle you love to see that from the defense right it's like Ben don't break they've given up a bunch of plays on this drive but now that they're getting downam close to field goal range you're seeing them start to sniff it up yeah and plays don't matter anymore yards don't matter all that matters with these defenses nowadays as points and limiting them trying to make that Rush think on the draw play here working their way closer and closer a third down conversion and they've got it at the 26 well the offense is in a really nice Rhythm right now it seems like no matter what they're dialing up they're getting positive yards and it just feel so good as a play caller when you know on first down you can get yards like that turning around and handing off yeah and on the other side you scratching your head going what the heck can I do here you got to find something the defense has got to find a way to create some momentum whatever they're doing right now it's not working so you got to keep going through that play sheet and maybe find something a little bit different that can give this offense something to think [Applause] about after picking up a couple at second and eight trying play action looking to the big tight end on target to the left and he'll run it into the end zone touchdown BSU that touchdown was a clinic in keeping your offense on the field and wearing the other defense out sometimes your best defense is your own offense being able to stay on the field you're absolutely right re that was a clinic running the ball playing at Great Rhythm and Pace QB making good smart decisions and not shooting yourselves in the foot no penalties no turnovers it doesn't get any better than that last last Drive lining up to tack one more onto that lead and the extra point puts them up by a field goal they put together an 81 yd drive and they finish things up with a dart from 24 yds out almost ready to kick it away after scoring the touchdown [Applause] kick and he's going toy return this one didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense from the gun leaves it on the inside with the back crosses the 30 got away he's right out of bounds with a big play on that one and it'll be a first down not much can impose your will on a defense like popping a big run especially when they know you're going to run it right this offense right now is just more physical they're more physical up front with trenches and this running back and his ability to break tackles that is just so demoralizing for this defense they'll ride the hot hand and you want to talk about gang tackling everybody on the defense run to the ball know I think a big part of this isn't necessarily scoring a touchdown on that plate but you're just trying to get your offensive line in the rhythm of the game let those Big Fellas get lathered up defense trying to keep this offense from getting a line on who to block Georgia Southern in a [Applause] hurry gets it out fast and just a short safe pass play they pick up a few well if you're going to get first downs against this defense you're going to have to earn it you're going to have to make people miss this is an excellent tackling unit you saw it on that last play they have it at the 43 third and short trying to avoid making a decision on fourth down Williams will pass throws to the tight end got him down field oh what a big play for this offense if they get it to the 33 yd line now on first down after that completion [Music] looking to move it through the air using the quick game after the pick up of nine it's second and one really good concept there to get things going and use the tight end early yeah I mean just such a great job on first down setting up an easier second down understanding I don't always have to push the ball down the field but see the tight end make the throw no it's not a big game it makes life really easy on me on second down look for the end zone and the throw and catch was good but you got to do it in the field of play and he couldn't quite keep that foot in bounds well the quarterback knew where he wanted to go with the ball his intended target just wasn't open so the quarterback made sure he put that football in the stands this third down play more than manageable from the 24 can the defense Stand Tall they keep attacking through the air grab near the sticks it's Burgess the offense quickly calls timeout to stop the clock man down on the play as the officials take a break to let him be checked out the Eagles have it with a first and 10 they're threatening to score and they'll throw it might be looking to run and he has a solid gain on the play before sliding hey let's it's important at that position to be able to be good off schedule everything's easy when it's on time you can get the ball out but when things break down and they get off schedule you've got to have a guy back there that can make the right decisions he did exactly that operating in the Red Zone here on second down Williams looking for a man fires into the end zone just threw that one way too far and the quarterback receiver just not on the same page on that last play timing has got to be so critical especially when you're throwing to the perimeter of the field they just didn't have it there they'd love to pick up this third down and get a fresh set with first and goal he's looking to throw on Third and short a little screen to the running back and the completion gives him a fresh set of downs that keeps this drive moving a timeout is called as this offense tries to find a way to get more points on the board before the half and a chance to really carry momentum with them into the locker room if they can take the lead here first and goal he'll set up to throw and the pressure was too much they get him at the 15 there's a Timeout on the field tight game here late in the first half defense roll up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming he's looking to throw got it in the middle fight and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up I want to get my running backs the ball in space as much as possible and sometimes it doesn't work in the running game but I can throw it to him I can try to create some space out wide dump him the football let him make some catches and see if I can't get some big plays out of we've got a timeout in the waning seconds of the half maybe a chance to get off a couple more plays now with just a few seconds left not enough time to run another play but there is time to kick a field goal and take the lead absolutely perfect and that'll tie things up as we head toward halftime that late and a half field goal always gives you a little boost going to the locker room and they'll need to finish off these final few seconds and not allow them to answer from inside the 10 here he comes they finally make the stop that's going to make those halftime stats look a little bit nicer as we head to the break that's going to wrap up the first half here and now we join Kevin with the halftime update gentlemen you had yourselves a superb broadcast so far today in Statesboro it's been very evenly played through two quarters both teams have been physical both teams have battled there in the trenches neither has been perfect but they're both right there in this game and it's kind of the Calm before the storm each side sort of licking their wounds right now but expect another fight in a phone booth in this second half and with that let's send it back to the guys inside the prettiest little Stadium in America the Broncos will boot it away to start the second half he'll start the return inside his SP nice job by the kickoff team everybody stayed in their lanes and they'll stop him at the 16 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again first drive of the second half always fun to watch you see what type of tweaks were made at the half especially when you're locked up in a ball game like this one yeah and it's been been a good game I mean it's been a little bit of back and forth and a feeling out process and now once you get in the second half who's going to get aggressive Palmer who's going to take some shots try to make some plays and really go for it yeah it's interesting I think as play callers right now you learn a lot about these coaching staffs with respect to who does make the best adjustments there's a lot of coaches that believe we're just going to be who we are we're going to keep doing what we do we're just going to do it better but then there are others that tweak things a little bit on offense and on defense we're going to find out here he's out of bounds but not before picking up enough for the first down I really like the slot receiver and I understand he's not the biggest guy in the world but he just runs really good routes he's always under control he can run option routes he can run double moves he does a great job cutting and he's dangerous after the catch nice weapon to have working the middle of the field comes out throwing on first down got it behind the line it's white Wows through the defense and he'll run across the sidelines after the good game running backs just have to be a weapon in the passing game even for little dump offs and check Downs yeah find your matchups I mean you think about running back versus a linebacker we like that matchup in space and so find ways to get the football to your running back in space where you can break tackles and make things happen because they're just so Dynamic quick strike complete and they'll get it to the 39 yd line and they'll move the chains and first [Music] the Georgia Southern in a hurry C in the back field it's bur and the defense had that one well covered just a short game there we're trying to throw the wide receiver screen to pick up that first down but the defense just too much speed getting to the ball carrier on that one womit a running game on first down now back at it from the gun running back on the move a confident tough efficient run gets it up to the 44 third coming third and short from the 44 and we might know if they plan to go for it on fourth down by what they call here Williams will pass fires to the wide out nice defensive play to get a hand in there and knock it away you sort of get the feeling here in the second half with the game tied very easily could come down to which of these two quarterbacks has the football last bit of a blown opportunity there on third down with that incompletion this guy's going to have to lock in for the remainder of the game Georgia Southern brings on the punt team finally sending out a punter in this one got to make sure they earn their letter fair catch called for and made boisey state has it back ready to go to work on offense and then a lows scoring game like this one David every possession is magnified and I think more than anything it just gets frustrating and you got to put that behind you you got to see what this defense has been doing to be so successful caller now use it against him yeah David I think for a play caller this is tough right it's like you have to have the perfect play on just to get a first down in these types of games I think you're just trying to get guys out in space see if a dude can break a tackle maybe that generates an explosive play and it breaks this trend they bring him down and he's going to l yard on that one that linebacker saw the express lane right to the ball carry did a great job on the defensive line getting some push making them use their resources on him linebacker comes free making the back field for a tackle for third and 10 still backed up inside their own 20 this drive hasn't really gotten started throws to the wide out complete to the left and chunk plays are the name of the game and they get one here before the defense finally makes the stop there's a reason third down is called the money down what a great find by the quarterback great job finding his receiver at the end of the game you look at third down percentages it tells a huge story and it goes a long way in deciding who wins a football game the give to the back and they drag him down but not before he picks up the first down every offense wants to be able to run the ball and be physical especially on first down and you want to create second and short third and short or just get first downs like that run right there and the Broncos are flying down the field might as well give it to him again man that dagal is a freak athlete did you see him come out of his stance and beat the offensive lineman getting to the running back catlike quickness [Applause] didn't get much on first down it's second and nine give to the running back and excellent Vision to find Running Room there and make a really good pickup before the defense put a stop to it well the offense knew what they needed to get that first down so they dial up the running play and they get just enough to keep the drive alive the Broncos with the first and [Applause] 10 to the ground with the back they'll wrestle him down just short of the first down I don't even think they're going to bring out the change to measure this one man when I can run the football like that on first down and create second and inches and stay way ahead of the sticks and and be in a position now where I can can throw the football or run I will have a lot of success on the offensive side of the football when they've got him looking run now to pass just a short pass to the tight end and he'll be taken down but he does have enough for the first down these routes have some reads and adaptability built in and the big fella found that cushion and made the play man it's so awesome how much offenses have evolved they know exactly what they're getting where to down quarterback tight end on the same page gets the first down coming out on first down with the Play Fake unloads it left and the physical play there forces the incompletion on first down hey man if you're going to force incompletions when the QB's thrown to the tight end you better be physical nice job with the hit forcing that incompletion got a good one going here all tied up in the third it's second and 10 looking for a crease it's Genty got some room headed to the goal line touchdown boyy safe they take the lead with the six number and this is why you consistently run the football a steady diet because you can break the long touchdown runs nice job breaking through the line of scrimmage out running the rest getting in for the long touchdown [Music] he'll try to tack on one more the extra and the extra point is true and there on top by seven Mak the score about to kick it off after punching it in for the touchdown he'll bring it out makes a move he's got an alley running through contact they eventually chase him down but what a SP ular return that almost went all the way he'll try to pop the draw he showed it all there a little elusiv a little power and he's got the first down beautiful play call offensively at the perfect time in that situation the defense obviously expecting pass so they sneak the draw in and gash the defense Georgia Southern in a hurry [Applause] he got it and he'll be tackled but there is a flag on the field pass interfer off will wonders never cease if you're a defensive guy they call Pi on the offense this time the give to the back sweet feat on the move they bring him down but a solid pick up to put them in position to pick up a first down listen you you got to be able to know what play to call and what hole to go through like the line blocks for a certain hole good job getting through the hole getting what was blocked getting a nice positive game making your situation really good on the next down going to work on second down in the red zone is still some ground to cover to pick up that first down from the gun the ground game [Music] he'll be brought down at the 5 yd line and this defense is on it heels five to six yards a pop I don't know if you guys are really good at math but that usually equals a first down every couple carries so don't forget about the Run game keep them honest Pound That Rock really need to pick up this conversion and avoid having to settle for the field goal Williams looking for a man pocket starts to collapse and the quarterback CAU up two and sack of 12 and listen the quarterback drops back and he's going through his progressions we see Zone but just couldn't do anything about it this defensive line this pressure getting to the quarterback getting him on the ground so they'll send out the field goal unit on the FI it is G that makes 17 GE [Music] after putting up a three spot the kickoff unit set to go on the move from inside is five didn't find any crease in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Bo he stay ready to send out that offense that running game was impressive taking them right down for a touchdown last time David yeah just Bing no secret play calls just simply we are more physical than you and we're pounding the football right at you so if you're on offense this next Drive take a look at their safeties and see if they're creeping up into the box because of your success running the football this might be time to take a shot down the field and play action picked up some yardage with that completion now second down running back searching for a hole and the Broncos will keep this drive going so far everything's just seemed to work for this offense when theyve wanted to run the football regardless of what down and distance it is they're able to get it done up front getting a lot of push and these backs are finding the holes now on first down from the 30 right back to the well and he's almost to that first down marker there saying he's a little bit short they might want to bring out the sticks and measure but it looks as if he'll be just to the first down on second down will they go back to the ground game takes the hand off it's Genty this is an offense that Prides himself on being physical so you need one yard just hand it off to your back and let him go to [Applause] work what a day it's been on on the ground for these two guys and they just seem to get stronger as the game goes along as we take a look at the numbers one more period to go to see who can make the winning plays and come home with the victory the Broncos are marching down the field one back in the back field and they'll give it to him and the defense finally makes the stop after the sweet run and good gain another good run man he has been picking up yards in bunches today Jesse showing off all the skills and he's showing no signs of slowing down David this guy just gets better as the game goes on he is a beast and the Broncos want to move quickly off the play fake on first down to throw a strike downfield that is exactly what you're looking for when you talk explosive plays the defense finally able to make the stop the Broncos come to the line with a new set of downs this time they'll go to the running game tough running this deep in the Red Zone he's got four down to the 11 down on the at the 11 yd second down coming up [Applause] after the productive first down play it's second and six the give to the tail back and he rolls into the house touchdown Broncos Precision blocking up front created the open Lane in the running back followed it beautifully yeah I it's pretty easy to follow an offensive line that makes those holes just gives you a caravan all the way to the end zone what an unbelievable job blocking up [Music] front they'll try to attack one more on their score and the extra point is up and good and they have an 11-point fourth quarter lead so an 82 yd drive there and it was punctuated by an 11 yd Run for the score lining up to cover the kick after that touchdown drive and he takes this from inside the five really disciplined job by the coverage unit to get down there and make the stop at the 19 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense on the ground it's white keep pounding away at this defense and make them play the run if you can get this many a chunk they're going to have to commit more guys to the box and more guys to the run then you open it up for the passing game got eight on first down now looking at a second and two Williams will pass quick completion on the out route ripping off a pretty good chunk of yardage they got it out to the 41 with a first down this is the moment for this offense to put a drive together it doesn't matter what's happened up to the point of this game but you're trailing right now you got to put some points up on the board this is where all 11 guys need to be playing together as one and the Eagles come to the line in the hurry up the RPO it's complete and good coverage by the defense just a short game just got the feeling this defense is going to make it hard on them right they've got the lead it's late they're going to try to tackle everybody in bounds offense is going to have to really work for this and be smart you got to attack the sidelines you got to throw first downs you got to keep this thing moving vertically down the field [Applause] dialing up the second down pass play C near the sticks it's FL he's there to make the stop but the damage has been done as they pick up the first down on the throwing catch and on the heels of that last big play now you'd love to keep the momentum going and score quick how about staying aggressive try to throw this thing into the end zone you need to get the ball back and you need to save as much time as you can they have a first down at the 41 yd line they're going to throw it again finds his tight end and he goes out of bounds after a nice pick up on that one important in the passing game that it's not just receivers doing all the work you got to get running backs involved you got to get your Big Fellas you got to get the tight ends going too that completion leaves us with second immediate [Applause] [Music] leaves it with the back that's what you expect from a senior don't give them any extra yards great tackle there they're strong and they're scraw defensive tackles they're scraw there's such a big jokers in the Middle where they just lock out those offensive linemen and running backs listen they don't have much of a a chance when you got that 300 plus pound guy grabbing you around the shoulder pad you tend to go to the ground pretty quickly quickly complete moving deeper into enemy territory move the chains it's first down at the 27 trailing like they are right now in the fourth quarter their execution offensively is just going to have to be at a premium you can't afford a lot of incompletions at this point everybody is going to need to be on the same page moving forward trying to find his man on first down that's caught it's white and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one running backs are not just running backs anymore you're going to be a wide receiver in today's football and a great job sneaking out of Back Field getting the football letting them get some positive yards Georgia Southern in a hurry [Applause] Williams looking for a man gets it out quickly and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play this defense is going to have to be careful not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes too he is a versatile back George Southern about to snap it on another first and 10 wide out in motion with Jet Sweep pass not a whole lot of progress made there on the short front well and on these little push passes timing is so important you're trying to snap it Bri as is's getting a full head of steam when he gets the ball he's hitting the outside David it puts the defense in such a difficult spot you immediately have to be rotating when you see that motion so everybody's got to communicate and kind of bump over that's why offenses love to run it just it makes the defense communicate and see if you can just get him out of his spot he's all the way down to the three and Electric Run has him set up and now a big third down coming up down multiple possessions this is one Palmer I'm looking for six I'm not trying to kick a field goal I want to cut into this lead with a touchdown no you got to have it and also considering all that this is four down territory too so you need to identify who are your best players on offense and how can you give them a chance to score this touchdown grab in the back field it's white and the defense coming with bad intentions they knock him down for a loss and after getting knock back it's second and goal from the four he's looking to throw getting some heat and the pressure was too much they get him at the 15 yeah in this part of the field man those windows shrink and it's hard as a quarterback sometimes to really force yourself to throw the football you're sitting in a good spot in second and goal just throw that thing away don't take the sack and put you in a bad situation and they'll come to the line trying to take a slice out of this lead on Third and goal Williams will pass and a missed opportunity on third down as the defense knocks it free and fourth down is coming up I tell you what I don't know if the offense was expecting man coverage that time third and long in field goal range you're expecting it to be Zone instead they lock them up manto man everybody on an island everybody one they get the incompletion Now setting up for it it's good and that was dead solid perfect [Music] [Music] score so after putting three on the board the kickoff team is out they're ready to put it away looking for an alley from inside his own 10 nice job executing all of the assignments as they put a stop to that return at the 22 the Bronco offense back out there ready to give it another spin he wants to throw looking down the middle got his Man Down field and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yard just picked up love to see the fearlessness of a quarterback to work the middle of the field and he's got so much confidence in his own arm talent to be able to get that football there before the defense can break it up and the Broncos racing to the line in the hurry up [Applause] they'll keep it on the ground they want this clock to move at the 35 he's loose really nice run there good solid pickup and they'll move the sticks with a first down this offense is like running a Perfection drill and practice against air chunk play after chunk play and here they come again might as well run him until they stop him he's got it again he's knocked down in the back field he'll lose a couple defense uses a timeout quickly trying to get that ball back and preserve time for their offense after losing a couple on that last play here's second and 12 the G to the running back from the shotgun time out called there by the defense desperate to get the ball back and save as much time as possible and not a surprise by this offense right this is a game management type situation I want to run the football I want to run the clock the clock is my friend with the lead late in the fourth quarter inside of a minute I'm going to keep this ground game going and make you have to look at that clock continue to tip quick timeout called by the defense stopping the clock to save as much time as possible for their offense and now on fourth down they will put it on the shoulders of the kicker to save them with his foot he's got it showing off that big leg from 47 yards out you know it's funny in an age where there's so many college football analytics and everybody wants to go for it on fourth down at the end of the day it's still comes down to managing good decision by the head coach here in the fourth quarter by kicking that field goal you've now made it a two possession game your chances of winning this thing have now gone way up after putting up the field goal they're set to kick it away set to kick off on the run from inside his zone five didn't find any creas in that kickoff coverage and he'll be stopped at the 17 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the off again got out of trouble and throws got a in it's virgin they make the stop right there good pick up and still short of the first down he throw a little hitch route nice job getting the ball out of his hands quickly wide receiver quarterback nice job being on the same page nice completion nice catch clock's running and they'll try to get to the line warped speed for second down Williams looking for a man he's right on target dragged down at the 30 after a 5yd gain you know the defense doesn't have an answer for this slot guy right now they may want to think about bracketing him having a Defender play to the outside and to the inside probably some sort of Zone coverage where you're trying to get two bodies forcing the quarterback to have to go somewhere else with the [Applause] ball going up top on first down tight end finds a soft spot they stop him just a link or two short of the first and man what they can do on second down here I don't know who on defense is going to cover this guy honestly he could be a problem for this defense over the middle of the field in the passing they'll hurry to the line with the clock still running everybody lined up quickly snapped and spiked to stop the clock down lining up trying to convert this third and short from the 40 they'll try to get the first through the air quick completion on the out and they reacted well to the completion but it was too late to keep him from getting the first down love the way he didn't just run to a spot he found the cushion in the zone and got himself open for the first down yeah and you're taught to find that space don't run right into a Zone Defender who's sitting there looking at the quarterback and looking at you so much creativity with routes now of being able to just have subtle moves One Way come back the other way nice job by the tight end finding that hole in the zone and now on second down for this offense Williams will pass just had to get rid of that one good job to avoid the loss they've got the ball at Midfield but they're facing a third and long from the gun wants to pass and he just throws it away on third down I don't think you can give up on a play like that and offensively we know it's hard throwing the ball in third and long situations because the defense can play Big Zone coverages they got a lot of guys with their eyes on you so the QB had no shot there nobody open nice job not forcing it not risking a turnover just throwing it [Applause] away on fourth down they'll try to throw it he's going to let one fly down the middle and the pass is dropped and incomplete and that's going to do it clock has struck zero and the ball
