IT'S BEEN AN IT'S GOING TO BE AN EXTENDED WEEK OF FREE RIDES ACROSS NEW JERSEY TRANSIT SYSTEM, KIND OF A THANK YOU FOR YOUR RIDERSHIP. AND WE ARE SO SORRY FOR ALL OF THE INCONVENIENCES AND PROBLEMS THAT YOU SAW ON THE LINES. THIS SUMMER. >> FREE OF CHARGE, A FAIR HOLIDAY. YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY ONE PENNY FROM THE EARLIEST TRAIN OR BUS. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 26TH TILL THE LAST TRAIN OR BUS DEEP INTO THE EVENING ON LABOR DAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND. >> YEAH, YOU JOKING FOR REAL? WELL THAT'S BEAUTIFUL, BUT SOMETIMES THEY GIVE US SOMETHING FOR FREE. >> IT HAS BEEN A HECTIC SUMMER ON NEW JERSEY TRANSIT TRAINS. DELAYS AND CANCELLATIONS COSTING RIDERS TIME AND MONEY. IT'S BEEN ROUGH. IT REALLY HAS. LIKE THE WHOLE COMMUTING THE ALL THE WAY FROM LIKE IN THE STATIONS AND THINGS YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH. AMTRAK OWNS THE SYSTEM THAT NEW JERSEY TRANSIT TRAINS USE, ESPECIALLY THE NORTHEAST CORRIDOR LINE. IT'S AN OUTDATED SYSTEM THAT OFTEN FAILS UNDER SUMMER HEAT AND WINTER STORMS. AMTRAK RECEIVED $66 BILLION FROM THE INFRASTRUCTURE BILL TO UPGRADE THE SYSTEM, SO THAT THE TROUBLES THAT PLAGUED COMMUTERS NOW WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST AT SOME POINT. A FREE WEEK OF RIDES, TRAINS AND BUSSES ALL NEW JERSEY TRANSIT, A WELCOME GIFT. >> THAT'S VERY GOOD THOUGH. IT SAVED A LOT OF MONEY. I WISH THEY'RE GOING TO CONTINUE.
