Champagne Football! Arsenal Dominate Everton 4-0 & Preview Bournemouth Clash | Review & Preview Show

Intro / Countdown timer foreign bite size podcast Pod starts um of course FPL Nema and I'm joined by my co-host Clayton at Clayton's AFC on Twitter we're here to talk about the champagne football especially in the second half in the big four-nual victory Arsenal at home versus Everton and we will also do a quick preview of the Bournemouth match tomorrow at 3 P.M so how was it being in the grounds and uh seeing the champagne football ah it was it was ridiculous weren't it like that second half that just took me right back to you know that like 0708 renga years so just at home like you just knew a team were getting a battering and it was just so easy like I just couldn't believe what I was I wanted to go into that game and just have a comfortable evening anyway I didn't want any stress and obviously the first half I'd say like the first 30 40 minutes I I think I thought we were pretty crab to be honest I know people have been like oh yeah Everton said well this I just thought the basics we were awful like okay awful's a stretch but we were just really slow with our passing a bit sloppy just it didn't really seem like there was any intensity or urgency in our temper and movement and then there was just like a clinical five minutes right it was a bang bang done finished and then second off they just came out and they so it's a stroll in the park and like we could have scored more than four as well like it was such a joy to watch and we we were toying with them it was absolute walk in the park and everyone it wasn't going out as well right like yeah everyone maybe onto the pitch I think I tweeted the other day like after the game that felt like the perfect night in the to sense that it was four nil didn't really get out of second third gear in the second half either rotated the squad really well so key play has got minutes Smith Rowe came back party came back party man like we all know how good he is but like I actually thought Georgina was [ __ ] like really really bad like apparently he was playing with a cold yeah oh yeah I heard that I think it was more than a cold with how he was playing like honestly it's some of the basics I was worrying when some of those balls were being given away in the first half and it was still doing and it's just like the first touch like mistiming interceptions like yeah obviously he's been great so gotta cut and slack but I was like oh my God and this for me is why I didn't like as good as he's been I didn't get the whole oh let's just play him against Everton like we knew it was going to be a physical Midfield and Titan areas which to be honest stylistically does suit Georgina in terms of it being tight um but anyway party came on second half and it was just it was Boise men like he he is a joke he's an absolute joke he he's so complete and now even some of his defensive stuff he does I think goes so under the radar because it doesn't necessarily always it's not always preventing like a clear goal scoring opportunity nor is it always immediately setting up an attack but some of his interceptions and the way he just kind of kills opposition attacks is an absolute joke and then yeah obviously say he was reintegrated Smith Rowe was reintegrated which was great the area came on contributed teeny came on that lot lost in Sheffield like it was just the perfect night it was so funny man like I left the stadium and I think I may have said to you before I'd me personally I don't like chanting about Tottenham that much I I prefer it like to put all your energy into supporting Arsenal like I know I'm probably in the minority with that I couldn't tell you why it is but I yeah if I'm at Arsenal I want to cheer on Arsenal rather than singing about them if that makes sense obviously when we're playing them I do it but it was so funny leaving the ground and hearing that that was the result and then everyone going what'd you figure Tottenham and they get batted everywhere they go and I had to [ __ ] get involved with that yeah no I wouldn't have been able to resist them I I am a bit like you I would say that I do find it a bit cringe when they start singing the Tottenham song and we're not playing Tottenham um we're bigger and better than them that's exactly what it is for me yeah so I was gonna say I don't see them as a rival like yeah yeah but like I just don't see how there's a football rivalry as such maybe it's geographical every but football-wise like come on man like one League Cup in 15 years an FA Cup 23 years before that no Prince of the 60s I don't know where this narrative came from about Dave like caught up the Gap they need to get about 50 other trophies before they catch up any kind of Gap in my opinion but I'm not here just to [ __ ] on them let's talk about the Great Performances yeah what did you think um obviously trust also through the middle again as well and I I just love it dynamism was so great right yeah obviously they were like we're in a group chat together aren't we and there was like mixed uh opinions on whether that was the right choice whether it should have been in encettia and like even pre-game I we both put trossard in our predicted 11s anyway but I'd say we both wanted it right like yeah I think stylistically we knew Everton we knew the blueprint of what they tried to do and for me the solution to that is absolute gives us I know he's not the same as Jesus but stylistically he's the most similar that we've got and I think you see it in all of the goal contributions the last two games the spaces that become available for Martinelli to attack as a result of the that like you said the dynamism it's absolutely brilliant what he's giving us and um yeah I was happy with the selection I think he's he's doing brilliant and it's giving and ketter a breather which you called um a couple weeks ago which I didn't agree with at the time but obviously I was wrong like it's good to give him a breather and like it's come off the bench he he could have should have scored one that brilliant ball from party over the top when Ketty has spun in behind uh he contributed to Martinelli's second goal with a good assist so um yeah it was it was brilliant it does sound like Eddie is carrying something so I know in the match of post-match presser or titica mentioned he has been playing with something so maybe it's not just a rest maybe he has also been playing without any other depth playing Center forward and finally with trussard signing he's given us an opportunity to give him a bit of a breather to be honest um a couple of quick shout outs as well before we go so Mike helping always good to see Uncle Mike here I will always remember when he gave me tickets to the Arsenal Liverpool game so I appreciate that and a few other matches along the way good to see you bongo all the way from Tokyo good to see you I'll put the show on because I was chatting to bungle last night we were looking at like different shirt Collections and stuff and he's uh yeah he's got some unreal ones and then yeah yeah he's loving your shirt hashtag clubber you've got Blue Danube Joe good to see you mate Mr Tom Smith or Mr Clayton here Toby Wyatt good to see you there are they're mates from uni so well I say mates they're Tottenham fans I give them [ __ ] no no I appreciate two top Nana you're not very I appreciate two Tottenham fans taking time out of their day to listen to Arsenal so is is Tom the one who we should be thanking for the graphics or is that a different topic okay I was gonna say that must have been painful for Jack uh creating red branding like this um as a Spurs fan um all my FPL show are much more reasonable about us Spurs like you know if you've got Harry Kane and my team for FPL and all that but when it comes to the Arsenal point maybe I am a little bit um maybe a bit too much anti those two know their [ __ ] themselves like I've known them for years like they've been punching above their weight for years as a football club and they've achieved [ __ ] nothing like they've hit their ceiling they're done like they had done that whatever level they thought they're at it's gonna be I hope you've not got them to uh unsubscribe and Report us with that comment but um apart from that um I guess let's put the lineup up as we give our summaries of how we felt the match when um obviously Ben White did start again um you know there was a bit of a worry Lineup vs Everton and individual performances about here multi tomiasi was selected for the 1v1 defending against City but that didn't quite go to plan either interestingly just something I want to say about tomiosu is um they asked arteta he said you know I've spoken to all the players in the coaching staff and if we were told that we had to have a Defender and a 1v1 against an attacker and it was to win the Premier League and that one tackle was the last man and if you save this shot you win the Prem we all picked tomiyasu so he was basically like we don't care that he made those mistakes in the city games I've not seen that yeah yeah so he literally said like across the club we all agree that he is the one we would pick if we had to have just one man as the last man to do this so I thought that was quite interesting because I would have thought he'd say celiba or Gabrielle but that was quite an interesting take um zinchenko again um so what I really loved is you know when the first goal came I felt like you're right we looked pretty bad for the first 30 40 minutes and I was starting to get some nerves getting into me but the way that kind of Saka got that goal on his weak foot on the inside of the roof um I think you know the goalkeepers don't expect that so he's obviously like looking to protect his far post his positioning is all wrong his footing's wrong with the power and accuracy has taken that shot on his weak foot it just doesn't give time for the goalkeeper to respond and you know it's something that's just phenomenal to see but what I really liked was our play so if you look at our positional playing that goal specifically will unlock them we were in a scenario where trassard who started through the middle was holding up the whip on the left wing yeah Jack are playing as like a striker and you had zinchenko is the right attacking mid you had Ben White as like a right wing back you had a odor God in there with them and then you've got Sakura as an inside right forward and as to that you had sacker where he was Martinelli was the other side of michelenko as well so that's it so yeah even on the right wing yeah yeah so if you watch it again like as zinchenko's about to play the pass and sackers on the other side of michelenko he doesn't know who to go to and like yeah you're spot on about the positional play because they they didn't know who to pick up and I think once those gaps started to appear that pass was just like so precise options right like I can see like certain players are all pointing to receive the ball all and I would argue that the delivery to Saka that was the hardest of the four to make the decision to pass attacking mid break through the lines Saka just did that turn in school so that was phenomenal you can tell sackers working on that finish right because he did it again I think it was Leeds he scored that goal West Ham at home yeah it was leads away yeah he scored it against West Ham at home obviously that was disallowed I think it may have been offside or something but yeah that's another thing that he's adding to his toolbox right I think if you look at it as well I would I would argue he's been doing this for a long time but just on his stronger foot so if you kind of look at him when he played as a left back for us there was times when he would get into the box and score that kind of goal and I think someone mentioned that even at Academy level and youth team when he played on the left wing he was scoring those kind of goals all the time so I think he's always kind of had it in his locker but to then do it on his weaker foot on the other week yeah yeah that's crazy so honestly I'm just so happy with him um as We Know all 10 of his Premier League goals so far this season have come in either a kind of game state where we're losing or drawing so he's either taken us ahead does that drop us into a draw yeah so all of his Premier League goals have either taken us ahead in a match or brought us back for a draw when we're losing so that's mad the Reliance we have on his Brilliance is insane I just want to see that contract that's a cool step I'd not heard that yeah because I think I didn't look into it as a step obviously I've been saying for months that I always feel like he's our Difference Maker where we're not winning a game and it was just a gut feeling I had I never like actually looked in through the numbers and then it looks like the mainstream media have now picked up on it and then I will tweeting out like oh yeah all 10 of soccer's Premier League goals to win the game or to draw the game like he's it's just crazy for a 21 year old right no that that is genuinely insane though like I don't know if people will process that like to be that young and step up because like you said about those game states that is genuinely when your team needs someone to step up and if he's the one doing that what was it 10 times that's a joke that is crazy I just don't I can't cooperate like my mind can't process it like he's 21 like he's he's not supposed to have this maturity on his uh young head but somehow he does and I I love him so much I don't know if I could love one of our players more he he is definitely my favorite player I think um but zinchenko has every week he keeps building up his uh credits with me and he's very quickly just working his way up that leaderboard I would say because just it's not even just on the pitch it's his leadership and the way he unites the dressing room he loves being here don't he you can just tell when yeah even after the game now yeah even after the games it's all like you always feel like there's the typical three or four that always do the lap like without fail and um it's always Rams though it's always oh to God Jack is typically there but zinchenko's always there as well and going to the crowd and stuff and yeah little soft factors like that for me mean quite a lot as well so yeah I love him he's a joke like when you look at the Zone he's picking up that part uh picking up the ball and playing the pass with the goatee like you said he's in the right like eight slot how is he doing that yeah he's meant to be left back but he's actually right eight like he's definitely wild so I I just love him and his passion and oh my God so I definitely think he was one of the standout performers on the day to unlock it because once the first goal came then the floodgates opened and we obviously thought that the Martinelli gold might be offside um so I think pre-var like without the lines and stuff I I would have looked at just you know the still graphic and I would have said that's offside just from looking at it wasn't it like I do think we're a tad fortunate but [ __ ] it we've had so much go against us we'll take it while we can um it's one of the few times this season I can say thank you to Bar the other time being the red card and penalty they tried to give in the last minute against Leeds for Cabrio I forgot about that bloody hell so there's been two good incidents for us for the countless negative ones that have gone away so Martinelli I definitely think um it's just insane right like everyone was saying he's in a bad run of form you know he'd not scored much since the World Cup break and he had his little breather which I still think he was like I think that criticism was fair personally oh no no of course I do think it was but I just find it so mad that that quickly he kind of took the Breather came on scored the goal Off the Bench started two games scoring those as well yeah and then he got the brace obviously because it's the whole dynamic quality for me is just yeah I think we all know about his mentality but for me it's a purely football stylistic thing I think it's the trust what trussard does for the front line and this is not hate on nkt I think I would put I think I love and Rey and kettia more than the average Arsenal fan does like I think so highly of him and I just think it's dependent on opposition and what trussard has given us I said at the start is stylistically more similar to Jesus and as a result I think that's where Martinelli thrives and I don't know so many Arsenal fans get so wedded to this idea of Martinelli needs to be a striker needs to be a center forward I'm just like this was working perfectly let him start on the outside and attack centrally he's one of the best around at attacking space I don't know why people want to nullify that aspect of his game like it's working just let him have it so although I do agree like his mentality and stuff is obviously uh like up there I do think this was for me quite simply it was just a football tactical change and I think it's what trussod has given the front line that's uh worked to Martinelli strengths personally no you're you are right I think the reason I bring the mentality into it is just from kind of when I said stack is my favorite player I think what's nearly is my second so he's just someone one day I need to put you on the spot and just say name your top three I feel like I don't know who you changed it all the time yeah they change your room number Martinelli's been my favorite for like three years so him and Sakura are like those two have always been the top two for a while now and I want to show it with both their names but the reason I mentioned his mentality is purely because when we hear about what these guys are like in training obviously you only played a match for 90 minutes but you're training every day with your teammates and I just remember over the seasons there's always been references to the fact that he trains at a world-class level yeah he's like he he the same effort he puts into match day he's doing that in all his preparation so I'm just so happy to see him in a situation now where he can float back into the middle where he's most lethal and that there is gonna you know there is a center forward that does drift wide and free up that space for him to pop into I think he was very isolated as you say for a few of these games post restart just kind of holding whip on the left wing on his own and we've been playing really tough matches right like people are underestimated but you know we played Brentford we played City we played tonight we played Tottenham but we've been playing some really intense games and we've come out the other side exactly where we were pre-World cup break I think that's my kind of if there was one takeaway from this match is that we were 16 games in at the World Cup we were five points ahead when our 25 games in nine games later without us best player you could say hey Zeus yeah and we're still five points ahead so we've kind of weathered that storm right and hopefully we see Jesus get some cameos and I doubt he's gonna be ready it's looking like you see that the depth on Wednesday and then you add Jesus into that I'm thinking who's gonna be the one that drops off the bench like the squad is looking like a joke and yeah you've summarized it perfectly in terms of the context of where we are in the season but the squad's only getting stronger as well so yeah I think what like I said right call me out if I ever start looking ahead but like do one game at a time but it's hard not to get excited it really is did you see what they said to Ben White about like yeah it's not all were you worried a lot was it gonna be difficult like nah and then ramsdell's recent interviews fantastic they were like how do you guys feel like the pressure and stuff he was like we're just going into each game like we're a team that's placed 10 for 12 in the league like we just playing each game here's how we don't really care he was like yeah we're just playing each game he's like we really don't care no one seems to be thinking about May or that pressure like they're doing the opposite of us fans we're looking at five game blocks saying how many points will we get in the next five yeah they're like no like our only focus and priorities to came ahead and I love that a quick shout out as well to Marsh thank you for tuning in mate um he was also at the game on Wednesday and mentions that ramsdale spent more time closer to the halfway line than the Everton forward so that's that's a bit of fun and also commenting on Martinelli and how they think it's going to be better for him to not have his back to goal and playing as like a traditional Central Striker but rather what you said which is obviously cutting in behind from the left into the central zone we touched on no to God obviously we said what we uh sorry on Georgina and party we touched on Martinelli Saka zinchenko why got the start is there anyone else um that you want to kind of pick on I think ramsdale save at the end to keep a clean sheet that was pretty important as well I think yeah it was good like obviously I think the next slide is like don't go into it yet but I think the next slide is the match sets one like Everton did have chances like we we were not like our defensive selves that we know we're capable of and I do think we we've shown signs of vulnerability defensively recently I think I think we've shown that if teams get it right against us they can create chances I think yeah but I don't think defensively we're quite clicking personally um I'd be interesting to see what the stats are but in terms of individual performances now I thought ramsdale was uh very good both in his distribution and I think in the first half one of the things I mentioned was I was a bit pissed off with like the lack of intensity in in our passing but he was someone that every time he got the ball he was looking to aggressively start an attack and stuff and like you said he made a couple good saves um I guess one thing before we do go on we touched on the first two goals um should we go through the third and fourth before we go on yeah we should because obviously we we went up two goals I think had Everton gone in at half time with one goal they would have probably thought there was something still there for them to take I think that second goal was like a dagger to their heart um that would have destroyed any yeah talk that I should prepared um yeah so I think that that was on that side of things um obviously we come out the other side and we went and managed to fully complete the steamroll from a gold difference point of view this was vital I think yeah yeah we really needed this I think there's now only a gap of six in Gold difference it was double digits previously so that was also a very big takeaway from yesterday we've got some good fixtures coming up hopefully from a gold difference point of view we can get some goals in those how did you feel about um Martinelli's second goal was that the third or fourth goal that his second goal so I think his second was the fourth one because that was when Katya came on but so the third one was odegard's one then like that was just such a beautiful passage of play wasn't it that that's everything in terms of patterns of play what we do we move it from side to side really quickly disrupt the opposition shape trust hard front like this is the thing like I think people get so fixated on positions like they're they're rotating zones all the time it's just it's all about having a person in the zone it doesn't matter who it necessarily is um and trossard was running down the left cuts it back brilliantly and then oh to God um yeah you can say slightly fortunate with the deflection in but he's still he's arriving in the right area um that's all you can do I thought that was a lovely goal and uh was happy to see him get on the score sheet as well I think it's just nice how we share the goals around to be honest um I think when you look at certain teams you know you look at kind of rashford at United or Holland at city or even Kanis Spurs it is very much like one main person getting the Talisman all of them yeah yeah and I feel even when Jesus first arrived right he only had the five Premier League goals I think it would be yeah it's that he was contributing so it's all about just you know we've got Martinelli on like 11 goals saccharon 10 odegaard's just catching up with them so it is good that we can kind of score from all positions like we don't rely on a single style of football I think that's what catches opponents out as you say um we have difficulties in some of the games because Newcastle and Everton and you know even Brentford to an extent but I think that was more to do with the fact that we couldn't play the game we wanted to play like we couldn't normally when we're shut out on Modern flank and they're doubling up on the Winger we're so quick to move the ball back out to the other wing but I just felt like in those matches by the time he got to the other Wing that other Winger was then doubled up on so yeah we just couldn't get it working and the main difference I guess if you look at just the team sheets has to be trust hard because he's the one who's come in and now we don't look like we're struggling to break these deep blocks as much yeah so yeah I'm definitely happy to see him and I'm interested to see one sporting game comes in how we go with that in terms of managing the load and minutes for the players because I tend to agree with what you said in a previous episode which is that we probably go quite strong maybe two free changes and we try to kind of take the games in the Europa League in the first leg so we can on a game State depending basis that's when the rotation comes in rather than like go out and play kids from the first minute yeah I think so as well um we'll probably get a clear indication on like if things go well and to plan on Saturday against Bournemouth I think the subs may give us an idea on what he's thinking for Thursday against sporting um and like whether it's Vieira jacquer that sort of stuff I know we spoke about before um yeah I think that I'm so excited for the next Fortnight because I think it's the games that give us the opportunity to really Flex the squad and I'm quite excited to see the lineups and the subs and seeing everything how it pans out um so yeah one game at a time though yeah yeah definitely is right away don't I yeah let's go to the match starts and then we'll go on the final one was obviously is uh his final goal Martinelli's right oh of course yeah Martin in his fourth goal yeah yeah who played the pass into inkettia that was that's what I'm trying to figure out because obviously like heavy metal but it might it may have been zinchenko again yeah like really good coming off the bench yeah I thought he looked like he was really hungry and like he wasn't obviously happy about getting two cameos but maybe that knock is something to do with it yeah and I think I do think there's a big case for like I think until Jesus is back which is pretty much around the corner I do think against deep block like for me it's simple deep blocks Tross odd if you think it's going to be a transition s game in kettia like for me it's that simple ball up really well like I know they offer slightly different things and they can both do similar things to each other but there was a few moments like where he got the ball on the wing when we were like defending and then like it ran up the side of the pitch and he just holds on to it really well it he is very strong actually and I do think we're always like this we always like forget about the previous Shiny Toy but another shiny turtle and then they come on and you're like oh wait actually like maybe I was being a bit harsh on them for those bad games maybe there was fatigue and injuries and we were playing difficult bonus I think you play him against like um you know someone like a Bournemouth and he could have a Heyday but the question is will I tend to play him and will that thinking be dictated by who he wants to start on Thursday against um sporting so that's where you should see this line up this weekend and what implications that has for the following game yeah but um yeah even the goal like again it's encettia was the center forward at the time but he was the one making the run on the left and Martinelli was the one attacking the near pose in the central zone so I think I I stand so strongly by this like don't get wedded to these positions especially in this Arsenal team like the Tactical flexibility they they've got is so bloody good and it's so it opens up so much more in terms of possibilities than what having one fixed position would and I think that's why I don't get too wedded to any idea of like Martinelli as a center forward right now because I think with the right uh pieces of the jigsaw around him I think he his level was frightening in this system definitely all right let's look at the match stats and then we'll go to the preview Match Stats yep so we've got the Marco stats for anyone listening on um podcast um from Twitter he's obviously runs his reports after every match in Europe and it's quite nice Graphics as well so if you can't see the visuals and you're listening on pod it's worth coming to the 27 minute time stamp and having a quick look so from an extra point of view they have a style for cumulative XG across the match of 2.59 versus 0.94 for Everton the expected fret is 2.02 for us to 0.83 possessions pretty mental 73 for us to 27 field tilt this might be the best we've seen all season spent about 83 percent of the time in their final third compared to 17 of them in our final third and then defensive line height so 50 and 39 um you can see though that before half time before we got those two goals our cumulative XG was very shocking I don't think we had it had like a shot on target until about 35-40 minutes in but once we went ahead Everson didn't really show anything in the second half apart from that save I think from ramsdor right at the depth of it really we just kind of I actually just starts to climb skyrockets after 60 minutes so that was very interesting to see um yeah and that's what there was problems in the first half for sure we had to figure out how to play the basics again yeah big time and you know what like well it shows that they're on the stats right the threat and the uh the actual XG was Everton were doing better than us in in terms of like the timeline of the game up until we scored uh even up until we scored so half time Everton went in on top on those metrics and I could see it in the stadium I did not feel comfortable like I did once we got the two goals I knew that's it games done but before that every like I can't actually I'm having a mind blank on what their chances were but I remember they had a couple and I was worried and every time they got the ball in like the middle third they were progressing through us fairly easily they yeah their transitions were brilliant and I was thinking oh Jesus Christ what's going on here so I do think there were like it's easy to look at the second half and just be like oh bloody hell like it was a it was it was complete domination but I do think there were a lot of lessons that the coaching staff will be looking at in that first 30 40 minutes that they want to eradicate because I do firmly believe I think we've been quite leaky recently I know that output's not shown that because it's back to back clean sheets but okay Lester didn't lay a glove but I forgot the games before I do feel like we've been looking a little bit shaky in periods but parties back and that probably changes the whole dynamic of things and after that yeah the overall picture of the game in the second half is the the stats just paint the picture it was after that first 30 40 minutes complete and after domination and you know what like that's what these top teams do they ride out difficult moments boom boom clinical and fight like I reckon that the goals came I remember sackers was like the 40th minute or so the Martinelli's was just before half time right so it was just that bang within six seven minutes just kill off the game and that's what the top teams do so yeah we did it yeah it was honestly this is a game we'll look back on as um a big Revenge Roger match after what they did to us the Fortnight before and I think the players had said before themselves that they felt that we needed to get back to basics and that we were getting the basics wrong and the first leg where they beat us so it's good to see that they were able to turn that around so quickly and dash has come out after and he's been glowing Praise on Arsenal and saying obviously that they are but they are because of what they do and how you know they will essentially execute you if you're not at 110 because they're just that good so it's good to see opposition managers who we play regardless of results are glowing the Praises on us and many of the managers in the Premier League do believe we can go the distance um the people who don't believe we can go to distance are generally the pundits and x-pros who are sitting there that's not commenting yeah yeah that's not even them thinking that's them hoping like that a lot of it is like um like you know Gary Neville gave a big account of how maybe City will win and you could argue yeah maybe that's a fair opinion to have but then he said United will finish in second and he's saying this just two days ago so I don't know it's a hopeful thing rather than what he genuinely believes he's lost all credibility like the last 18 months I've never seen uh like resp I say respected what it used to be a respected pundit goes so out of their way on a subject and get it so wrong and consistently double down on it like he just made a link down on it it's just made a fool of himself and like he's I mean Fair Play It's a hill that he's dying on but he he's dying he is um I saw James Gunner blog went on a show with Neville on Cara I've seen that I've not actually seen the content but I saw like the preview of it he really schooled Neville in a very humble way there about why he thinks he's basically wrong in the I think as James is very articulate in how he made like he's very well supposedly electric writer as well for Arsenal like I can imagine he like patronized him but in a very educational way it was like yeah Neville couldn't really say much um it kind of just shot down everything he's been saying these last 18 months so another one I noticed is obviously like the likes of Glenn Johnson coming out that would work as well and so they've got to say so obviously the media didn't have us getting top four in pre-season they were all like you know no chance Arsenal gets top four now they've moved the goal post for like the 50th time this season the new goal post and Glenn Johnson is an idiot is he basically goes so if Arsenal win the Premier League this year like they're basically like gonna be like Leicester and like they're not gonna be able to compete in the future years so you know look Leicester won the league wants and then they didn't win for four or five years so he's now gone from saying Arsenal won't get top 14. so I don't also haven't won yet but even if they do win they're not good enough to keep competing and I'm like this is like the laziest now it's like okay built for the future can't compete in the future that's what he's saying that's literally what he's saying like I'm like what kind of critical analysis or thinking has he done before coming up I know and it's just it's the same [ __ ] that everyone fed at the end of last season right it was like oh everyone was so outcome based in their analysis no one could apply the context of the injuries this that and everyone's like oh that that's why people like oh Arsenal have blown it they're not gonna have another chance to compete with top four Chelsea are improving Tottenham have Conte they're locked for third how how did that [ __ ] those stupid [ __ ] uh man united this stat like it's just oh it's such full of [ __ ] man and honestly it's the same with this like we are a team that are set up to consistently put 85 Plus points on the board and I'm being conservative there from like I'm talking from next season I don't know what will end up this year but from next season the base is 85 points like that's the app absolute flaw imagine if we get the Dynamics of like the left eight sorted imagine if we actually go in and get like a Declan rice or a caliber of player like that that we what we're doing is built for sustainability and like how people can't see this it's nothing like Leicester Leicester won't putting up the metrics we are like it's great that's what I'm going to say is it's like trying to say like Leicester had a 95 Point season and then they fell apart and that's not what happened he's like everyone else was bad that year so are you saying that if everyone else wasn't bad this year that you know United Chelsea and Spurs and Liverpool would be gain 95 Point Seasons I I don't think so and on its head if all of those teams were at their absolute Peak we would still be in and amongst the conversation because of how [ __ ] good we are it's not a case that they come in and replace us take away rather than credit us discredit their uh yeah yeah it seems like a very lazy analysis let's go to um the preview then quickly so I'll predict yeah just uh quickly one one thing we forgot to mention on individual performances odegaard's bloody slide tackle croystone I was going to say that I've rewatched that skill clip quite a few times so I'm not quite sure how he slid in and came out with the ball like that yeah I was like oh my God what the hell is that I just couldn't comprehend like what that move was um and I've recently been seeing some other interesting stuff obviously we know his vision and scanning on the pitch is insane but there was talks of there was like a VR scanning tool for football protein this year and when he was like I think 2012 so my God like he would have been 14 at the time he was like can you like make this like go 120 speed because like it was just too easy for him to scan in the VR so like this company had to like figure out what to do because like they gave it to a player who just like at normal speed right was obsolete that that one of the gnarly things I like doing when I'm in the stadium especially in the like season tickets I love watching when players scan and the the speed and frequency of which they do like if I did that I get Whiplash like it's it's crazy how they do it and it's such a like autopilot automatic thing for them but that's the details that separates them from like the the Tottenham players and stuff pretty much there's a lot more question marks for this week's lineup um it seems that white is well I put them in there and now that I'm Bournemouth Preview - Predicted line up thinking about it I'm like oh are they actually question marks or is it just gonna be the same thing yeah because I I know like artists are also gave an interview a different one not football one necessarily about how when he's winning he doesn't want to change anything he keeps like the same clothes on and [ __ ] he's very superstitious it sounds like so is it yeah if he keeps the same clothes on then I'm not surprised that we've been ready to say that when the team's doing well he doesn't try to change it too much um yeah I think after party's performance you would expect him to come back in especially if George Daniel will run well agreed um up top he's now talking about do you think there's any do you think there's any thought in party playing away to sporting next week and georginio playing against Bournemouth because Bournemouth are less physical he'll have so much time on the ball he won't be required to make the transitional interceptions per se that he was against Everton do you think there's any weight to that argument or do you think it's dead straight part get partying take him off early if it's going well yeah I think it all comes down to like the presser today and like how ill-time was I imagine it would be any time now in the next couple hours um but yeah like I I honestly I I can only imagine georginio starting if he is fully recovered and I'm not sure if playing on Wednesday would have helped him recover I think he would have prolonged his illness if anything so yeah I'm not sure I like the idea of parties starting and subbing off earlier if we can take control so I'm gonna go with party for that slot but that's mainly because of the doubts on georginio's Health at the moment I think party as well and I don't actually I was just being Devil's Advocate I don't think it will even be a question in our theater's head personally what about the uh so Striker and left winner obviously question marks there's three players for two positions who do you think we're gonna see yeah so my god well not my gut my initial thing without really thinking was I think it would just be the same front free again because of how Bloody well it's working and um yeah but then something you said earlier made me think encettia against the Bournemouth he would have a field day and like I don't think Bournemouth will attempt a low block but I don't think they're well equipped to do it to the level that we know that evertons can do like under Dutch Newcastle uh who else did it at the University yeah but I think there's one thing having a low blog and then there's one thing having a low block and being able to successfully execute like blocking passing lanes and like but the details on that that's where I like I know people look at Sean Dodge has a bit of a lot of brexit manager but I do think he's very switched on tactically like from the defensive side of things and he doesn't really get as much credit as he should sometimes because yeah like I say there's one thing just parking a bus but then to park a bus and actually nullify the inside lanes and block the passing Lanes between zones it's quite difficult and he'd done it he did it well but I don't think Bournemouth will be able to do that so that's gone on a bit of a tangent but why I've gone on that tangent is is there a need to go for the false nine-esque thing um I do think encasia could slot in and do very well in this game but putting a prediction out there I do think it will be the same front-free I think it would be Martinelli cross odd sacker if it's not broke don't fix it I think you're right and especially as bungle says that you know after depressor as well now he's been flagged with a knot similar to the whole kind of Georgina thing if neither of them are very fit then I don't know if it's worth playing them in this kind of match um You could argue that you could see a start like if Martinelli was to get a breather it would be potentially encettia through the middle after Midway that's harsh though right it is yeah you you and it's what we were saying about our tetsu not wanted to change something that's working so so I imagine it's gonna be the same team except for partying for catching yeah and then forward projecting I'm so intrigued to see what the sporting lineup is yeah I can't wait that's that's going to be I'm gonna see how many I get out of 11 in that Fan Hub I'm a fan yeah I've got to get like five I reckon to those midweek games always screw my uh average accuracy percentage so there's obviously the Bournemouth lineup versus City for the podcast listeners we'll just read it out so Neto in goal back five with Smith Stevens Bournemouth lineup vs Man City methum sanessi Zamora Midfield of otara Loma biddling treyore and solanki up top did you see that game against C I didn't add like I was in the pub I didn't actually watch it to know that what they tried to like did they just park a bus did they try to play like I don't really know yeah no this one I didn't get to see properly normally I do try to watch most of the city games just I want to see how they're getting on and I think this was a game where City changed their entire backline again so like Rico Lewis came back in that Bernardus over at Wing back wasn't the thing like I think kanji came back in Aki came back in so it just feels like that's probably why they leak a goal here and there every week because the person all changed so much yeah they do change so much that's kind of my only take away from a city Side on the Bournemouth side there's not much I can say I know that they have been okay defensively at home this season yeah not not against us but away from home I'm not convinced that I don't even think Bournemouth Will Survive relegation so this is a game that we really should be just turning the screws and winning like on paper right and I don't think they have like just looking at the personnel I don't think they have what Everton Brentford Newcastle had to execute that kind of deep Block in the same way about the score prediction then actually really because I don't have much to add tactically about Bournemouth because I haven't seen them recently but yeah I've seen them this season I've not really been that impressed yeah no I agree and all I'd say on that is just think of the reverse fixture at their place right like I know teams change in style and form affects things a lot throughout the season and that was a long time ago in September but the DNA and philosophy and principles of play are the same and the way we just stretched them about was an absolute joke so I think tomorrow is a case uh tomorrow is the case we'll just play our game like don't overthink it but don't be complacent like I don't think Everton was complacency I don't know what that was with some of the basics because I think there's one thing when the opposition is doing their things that makes it difficult but it's another when you're just not doing your own Basics correctly so I think tomorrow it's start quick move the ball quick don't dwell on it like quick passing move their structure around get into pockets and just try just stretch the pitch and kill them off early get a goal in the first yeah just score early and then it should be routine to be honest I think in terms of their threads obviously they'll look to kind of get the ball and ping it precisely in that zone where zinchenko vacates and Del Trigo 1v1 with Gabrielle I imagine um but that's that's how most teams that don't expect to have the ball against us will try and attack us right they'll try and escape this Army of red that's attacking them and swarming them and then they'll try ping it into that hour or the vacant space we've left when the whole team has arrived in their box they need to be quick yeah solanki could like he is good enough to score I think um he could he needs the service right but that's not the exactly who's going to get him that ball um I'm not sure if they can get him that ball so Bongo just adds that they're on a minus eight goal difference um away from home this season with freak and that's total so yeah we definitely need to take this fixture and like just really kill it early and rest some place I think yeah that's the plan whether that get some goals on the board yeah absolutely get goals on the board reduce the goal difference to City uh rotate the squad uh to maximize freshness for sporting on Thursday and then Fulham uh next Sunday and yeah just I just don't want to see any complacency because I know it sounds like we are but it's this you're a you're a legislative fan right yeah like we just want we want them to win every game right like we've not predicted a loss in the scores yet so oh yeah got a bit more humbleness and humility than us yeah but yeah on that note should predict the score let's do it so um what is it 76 correct outcome 72 to you Score Predictions um you've got the is it three correct scores you said so far I've got three you've got four yeah okay so I think hopefully this might be def out of 25 games I've got three correct scores it was looking good because we got the three and four correct scores respectively within like the very early games yeah exactly our percentages look so great back then but we just pulled them off a cliff since then um we've both I've predicted one draw against United you've predicted a draw against City and United we've not projected any losses we've actually drawn free lost free I think I predicted a draw against Villa away the city was the win prediction um goals four we scored 56 I've predicted 57 you put it to 59 um goals against we've conceded 23. yeah I've predicted 11. you could predicted you've predicted like Prime Chelsea Jose Mourinho I have haven't I yeah I don't know what I was thinking and unless I start predicting some five fours and stuff yeah I'm gonna catch up so there's anything it's so interesting to see how these pan out right because every prediction we do it's a logical one right but there's so much variance and illogical things that happen in football like you can't account for in predictions yeah I do think um football is out of all the sports when you look at it and that's what they talk about like FPL and stuff as well like there's a lot more variance like there's just so much you can't control in football and fantasy football especially compared to like a lot of other fantasy sports where yeah scoring is done for lots of stuff that happens on the pitch not just goals assist clean sheets I think when that's the only thing that gets rewarded is very outcome biased right so someone could have like an incredible game but they'll just but they'll be mad at the match right like and they'll get nothing because like they didn't get gold in the game man so I think that's what it is so my prediction for this game I'm gonna go heavy off the back of the last win I'm gonna really go for it I'm gonna go for I think minimum three nil I'm wondering whether I go really big and say five mil but that might be pushing me King hell forest again yeah I'm going for a big one um let's go with free nil for now yeah I'll go for free now I'm comfortable with that so that's a hat trick of the of us going for the same then I'm going free now anyone else in the chat house mongol's gone for free one consecutive clean sheets and free consecutive three points is too much to ask who does AJ thinks gonna get the gold bungle for Bournemouth let us know yeah if it's not so lanky maybe it's treyori or love or one of the other guys in the mid um quiet let's um before we leave we are going to go but just before we do let's chat a little bit about if people are wildcarding your Fantasy Premier League this week who are like maybe the free Arsenal assets you would be looking at I know we're both on Wild Card yeah yeah so I originally had soccer white Arsenal FPL chat and inquettia and I have changed that now to Saka Odegaard and zinchenko but zincenzo could be Gabrielle I'm still I'm on the exact same dilemma um so I've got the same three um to be honest I'm not the biggest fan of Odegaard as an FPL asset like and this is just like a negative fan perception bias thing I've got although the output is there I still struggle to look at him as like an output guy even though I know he's evidently statistically doing it um and this is what a lot of people are debating the Martinelli thing again right and I think for me the debate is simple it's if you play the minutes I okay so this is my personal opinion I still think Martinelli will have a lot of 60 65 70 minute appearances and I think they'll be the odd game that he doesn't start and even more so when Jesus comes back I know he's in he's on fire right now but with Jay-Z's coming back that's going to be a lot of people that need to get minutes and he's not just going to flog him 90 minutes and stuff I think especially with Europa kicking in he is going to manage the load and Martinelli will get subbed early in games but the thing is his upside in those 60 minutes while atrocard is playing and stylistically what that enables for Martinelli in attacking space and playing to his strengths as a team it's the upside is so much more than a NoDa God so for me it comes down to your style as a manager and like are you someone boring like me that prefers someone that's going to play 85 90 minutes tickle along or are you like a late Riser that wants to chase that upside and go for the Halls so that's for me where I think it is yeah that's my two hands on the minutes so what's your kind of you know Martinelli really tempts me I think the other way to look at it is um I'm probably not going to have three Arsenal players once we get to gaming 29 I'm probably going to move on the defender and the second midfielder to get double game makers from United so it's likely that either let's say I had Sakura and odor guard it's likely one of those two would become Bruno Fernandez and Gabriella zinchenkovy become Luke Shaw um so with that in mind it's like it is only for three weeks I really want this player from 26 to 28. yeah so part of me is like do I want to go big in these three weeks and just put all my eggs in the Martinelli getting enough minutes in these free games or because the other thing I noticed is if I let's say I had Odegaard and Saka selling odegard to Bruno causes me issues in my game with 30 transfer because of the difference like obviously Soccer cost 1.4 million then Odegaard so I would have to sell Saka and if I did I'd basically keep Ode to God for the whole season sure and that feels more palatable from a minute's point of view than if I had Saka and Martinelli and then I sold Saka to get to Bruno but then Martinelli is the one I'm holding for the whole season so that makes me nervous it's basically like am I gonna keep sucker because if I'm not keeping Saka the second one I keep I think it has to be odegard not Martinelli for me but if I'm Gonna Keep saccharin the second one is the one I'm actually selling then I would rather go Mars on any for these three games and then sell him to get to Bruno so that's where I'm at and where I'm in my head great that's a great perspective which I hadn't thought of because in my plan I've also so right now I've got Odegaard Saka and I'm selling oh to God for same as you for Bruno I hadn't even thought of that like if I'm doing that and I've figured it out so I can afford to do it I may you've changed my mind I'm gonna go Martinelli as a result and just Bank on that like I know the minutes I know he's gonna get hauled off early but just Bank on the upside in that because they're feeling so high yeah that's a really interesting perspective and I'll tell you for me my team value is really bad as well so and I'm also going to sell Highland it's going to cost me 0.4 million to buy back more than I spent on him so I'm not going with him on my wild card at all Ireland okay I'm not that brave I'm going Canaan Harland but I'm not that brave my thinking is in 28 when Holland doesn't play he then plays Liverpool 29. I'm gonna do Harland to Watkins in 28 get free fixtures out of Watkins in 28 and 29 compared to Harlem's one fixture for my bench boost but then again with 30 that's when Tony goes back to Holland and to afford Tony back to Harland I don't think I can do odegard or martinator Bruno has to be sucker and so for my team structure and dead team value it makes me think that having older God is the second was better because I'm gonna have to keep over to God but if I was able to sell that second one and keep sucker and I might fine tune my team a bit more maybe if I downgrade my second goalkeeper to a cheaper one or maybe if I get rid of Reese James and go all the way down I can maybe squeeze the money out there instead and then go for your approach of Martinelli and sucker and sell Martinelli keepsaka so I'm gonna have to I guess that's my last decision before 11 A.M tomorrow 24 hours to think it through you've given me a headache there that's a really really good uh yeah perspective which I hadn't considered at all so yeah like I said I think to summarize if you want the nailed guy that's gonna play more minutes it's odegard if you want to chase the upside but you're conscious of uh potential early subs and the odd game where he doesn't actually start um which I think percentage-wise is quite low now but the early Subs are definitely going to be a thing in my opinion for Martinelli um yeah very interesting perspective what's your thoughts on Gabrielle's enchenko then yeah so to be honest the enemies is in Checkers in my team now is because there was a chance he might rise last night and because I didn't know what decision I wanted to make I thought let me have zenchenko in now while I'm thinking about this did he rose no he didn't but uh but he's probably the closest to Rising altitude so again he might rise tonight and then if tomorrow I decide I want Gabrielle I'll just go to Gabriel but what I didn't want is to go with Gabriella 5.2 and then decide I actually wanted zinchenko and now he costs 0.1 more because my team losing that 0.4 million selling Harlow I need every penny like right now I've got March instead of McAllister I want McAllister but I need to say one more point three there so it's like you know I wanted Ryan but I've got Sanchez because he's not point two there so it's like I've had to squeeze the most fractional amounts of money like the old Arsenal bargain hunting yeah I am I feel like that 30 more watching for Andre Santos yeah I honestly feel like that so yeah I've got this so my thinking again there is because I am going to sell this player for definite in 29 for my bench boost I just I feel like zinchenko at the moment is like one of the first names on our team Sheet when fit so it has been for a while yeah yeah and and I think fantasy football Twitter kind of put Gabrielle's an illness above zinchenko like I think they're equally as important to the team and yeah I think they're both like as male is what you want to get right because I feel like goals from Defenders is so much variance you don't know what fixture is going to come in it can come in the toughest ones and it did for uh Gabriel people bench them against Chelsea he got a clean cheating goal right so they had him but they didn't play him in the week he's called for instance so I do think Gabrielle does have another couple goals in him this season and if you think that they could come in the next three and if you think those teams are bad against set pieces maybe he's the shout but for me I just feel zinchenko's flexibility against deep blocks to go to so many different zones and positions yeah sometimes you might assist the assistant but he might also be the one getting the assist so I just feel this is BPS from oh yeah EPS actually you're right yeah operating in those zones that you mentioned and if you look at the types of fixtures coming up and you try to proactively predict the game State we're going to have the ball a lot we've got Bournemouth at home Fulham away Palace at home I believe is the one after that like their games where we're gonna have the ball a lot and the field tilt we're going to be in the oppositions half a lot zinchenko is going to have the ball a lot he's going to be completing a lot of passes and I'm not saying this as in like he's going to go get assists and stuff because you're right he does sometimes have the pre-assist and stuff and I just think his Baseline BPS is ridiculous and the other thing I've noticed I want to check this out check this out statistically to see if it's just something I've convinced myself of in my head I feel like we're taking a lot more short Corners since the restart and Gabrielle's main selling point was from pieces yeah but I feel like the ball's not actually going directly into the box from Corners as much as they were personally good point I noticed that we played I don't know do you feel the same like you know I've seen that I think on the bonus point I think that's a really valid argument because when you look at their bonus this season I think zinchenko only has something like free bonus less than Gabriella's played eight games less yeah because like in the time he has played he is hoovering in that Baseline I was chatting to um I think it was anger smack fell this morning and then he was saying like zinchenko almost got top bonus midweek and that was a four-nil win like yeah yeah so it's not just that like I play Skye and um like tomorrow A lot of people are asking who are you captaining are you captain in Harland all right the format it's very different yeah and they kept it in on Wednesday too ahead of Salah so like there are people out there literally captaining zinchenko week in week out in sky right now because he gets passing to your taco tier he gets every [ __ ] tier like he's just constantly hoovering in points like we fall without a clean cheat he gets points I know an FPL he does need the output to get the points but if we get a clean sheet what he does in play on the ball that builds him up to a very good Baseline bonus yeah yeah I don't know where to start looking for this statistically but I do feel quite strongly that I've perceived that we're taking uh we're taking more short Corners um and that really puts Gabrielle's um appeal down for me like I think I've been 50 50 on it for a while but I'm I'm 70 30 on zinchenko no yeah mozinchenko as it stands them I doubt that will change because every 0.1 million counts for me right now I'm that Bloody desperate um I'm sorry I wonder if Jay Z's will make his way back into teams once he's back I think he could do um there's a big blank in 32 for teams like potentially obviously if the FA Cup quarter finals go right you know if United don't lose for example to Fulham and stuff like that and City don't lose as well um there's a chance where City Brighton United Chelsea all of these teams could blank in 32 and in the same week you've got teams like Arsenal home Southampton Liverpool home against somebody Dreadful team like so based on the way I do my wild card I might just fully pop commit and free hitting 32 because the teams like Brighton and United who will blank in 32 and even city they're gonna have the doubles in 34 and 37. support means like coming out of the double in 29 in 3031 City have good fixtures so do I want to be getting like a second City player in do I want to keep all three of my United players keep all three of my Brighton players because if I free hitting 32 I can come out the other side and have 10 double game weakers in 34. so now I'm basically just fine tuning do I sell my United players in 32 to get players who play or just free here so either I sell them and don't free hit but they're free hitting the double where they play in 34 because I sold them and don't have them anymore or I just keep building to 34 or 37 and avoid the headache of 32. so that's where I'm at right now and that's gonna well Jay-Z's on a free here against Southampton yeah yes I don't know if I buy him on a transfer but I definitely love to free hit him and a lot of free hits have already been used so yeah that's my thinking that so we're saying the three then is zinchenko Saka and then Martinelli or Odegaard on your living reference yeah I think I'd still go odegard if you want to keep long-term Martinelli short-term I'd say between those two yeah of course all right let's get out of here and lovely to see everyone live quick one Mike Halpin predicted two nil and bungle saw billing scoring in the free one so thank you everyone it's been a pleasure to see you and we will be back for the next review and previews for the matches ahead we will tweet that out soon otherwise enjoy the rest of your Friday if you're playing FPL if you're on wild card or not may your arrows be green we will see you all again soon up the Arsenal right on up the Arsenal peace
