VENEZUELA vs. JAPAN FULL HIGHLIGHTS TODAY | 2024 LL Baseball World Series

Pennsylvania and we begin our second week we started last Wednesday here we are on Thursday we are down to three international teams left after today we'll have two we are set for a big big day of baseball here at the World [Applause] Series and wherever you are welcome to ESPN's coverage of the little IG World Series it is presented by T-Mobile morning afternoon we appreciate you being with us here on the international Florida is our game at 7:00 eastern time tonight that's the United States side Texas awaits the winner for the US Championship that'll be Saturday at 3:30 we'll kick things off on Saturday with Taipei against either Japan or Venezuela welcome everybody alongside Xavier scrubs and soon to be joined by Sebastian Salazar I'm K ravit thanks so much for being with us here you think about Japan you think about a team that's got 11 International out here and really look like one of the best stars in all of the Little League World Series here but also they he has some protection with Willian MAA and jonen fretes who've done a great job of showing the ability to drive the baseball all over the field they stay back on off speed very well they understand how to hit with runners in scoring position and you see a lot of extra base hits right there Ravi a lot of big hits and we'll see if that continues against a good pitching team Japan before we continue let's quickly get it down to sebie who pocked Venezuela for Venezuela Diaz three for seven he's got an Ops of like 1171 he's got a double in there as well and here he hits one on the ground to short Ozawa and that is why you hit rockets at your kids to get him ready cuz that was hard hit and he made it look easy zawa has been one of the more cleaner Defenders we've seen here in Williamsport has done an amazing job ranging to his left today he goes to his right on the second hitter does a nice job of firing a good fast ball over the first base book two up two down and Johnson freus the left fielder we've heard His Name a lot on the international side gets a little fist bump from the catcher complete hitter plays The Outfield he pitches nickname laanta Negra the Black Panther and here we go with his it back set up inside looked like he caught a piece of the plate but it's a ball yeah looks like they're trying to set up high he has taking some swinging misses up in the zone that's one place Japan will look to try to beat him at the ton ofac there's definitely going to be some of those nerves they feel like they've made it to the to The Big Field right a lot of the players and and coaches have talked about their goal getting the play over here in front of this crowd here so I think it's pretty cool that they've got that opportunity now and hopefully get a chance to look out at that great Hill and all the people that are sitting on it on a 32 fou back it's an ideal day for baseball in an idic setting I mean it's 74° there is no wind big puffy white clouds blue sky and it's such an important game for these kids who've dedicated this entire summer to this team and this world series he chased good job that's a scouting report and one two three down sequence fastball strike one slider Sinker change for strike two Salvador Perez is the great catcher for the Kansas City Royals his favorite athlete and you have the nickname of De Moor that is the Demolisher first one high good catch there by Diaz he snared it it was almost at the back stop we'll notice early in this game Japan will probably take until they get a strike most hitters usually in that first inning that's Japan's approach one ball one strike this is the center field show Tanaka and he has been up six times at the Little League World Series he's been on base all [Applause] six that one is out of the glove and down to Second good throw and we get the tag on and a nice job by Diaz he picked it up quickly and all of the infielders are looking into the Dugout with their hands to their ears suggesting it's a good idea to take a look at M it's closer than I originally thought down there at second base would have been one of those that the major league baseball players would hold the glove because it almost looked like his foot popped off the bag right first blush it looked like his foot got in the glove was off when it popped right there like can have it on there but he didn't hold it on let's see x what you got still up in the air is there a contact right there yeah I think he's not enough to overturn I think he's going to be safe at least from these angles by the way got to love the aggressiveness from Kuma the sportsmanship is tremendous Kumi is out there shaking hands he just shook yz's hand and vieria the second baseman and now vieria and quum are having a a conversation they understand each other well that's the thing I love about internet are the same on a baseball field so you can relate to one another that's so close it's almost wonder if the laes hit the pant leg which would overturn the call the initial call here on the field safe at second base you guys have had some long games huh first Innings have been particularly lengthy you might be getting a little taste right now huh well this one's warranted that was a really close play in a game against this team every run counts every out counts well I can say this too the the young players have done a good job of trying to slow down the moment a little bit I think they understand you know not to get sped up in this game of baseball a lot of times we have anxiousness during those types of moments Carl stands they celebrate there and trumi celebrates at second base stolen base didn't get far away from Diaz and now we're reminded he's got a really good arm but show Tanaka back in the box on a 2-1 count he gets the call in the outside corner it's two balls two [Applause] strikes Jose Perez at third yis is your short stop pereria and willins MOA at first in the dirt gets the way and that's going to allow pume to get to Third Base remember the first game was a 2-1 game it Wasa who is not available dominated for Japan but they eventually scored the go-ahead and winning run on pass balls and hit batters and walks four and that is back to to back walks to start this game the runner on first and third look for Japan to first and third play they do a good job of being able to take advantage of their base running see them put on a lot of plays whether it be a steal and stop try to get the catcher to throw through and maybe steal a run [Applause] here tomaki wanabi you see he is another guy that is big boy 57 170 he's got just one hit here though and a big opportunity right up on the plate again some point Beretta is going to have to come inside still lives outside and it's strike one as a hitter you want to get your arms extended you want that pitch out there try to drive it Nevada on the United States side and these two teams Venezuela Japan and Chinese this is about Luis apparicio and Dave concepion and Omar and Chico Carell off speed really good it gets him to swing and miss and they will throw down and step on the bag for the second strike out [Applause] enrio enrio does a great job of understanding hey I got two strikes I can expand something below the Zone doing a good job of being able to make this looked like a strike from the jump but this thing Dives down late does a good job of getting the swing and [Applause] [Music] Miss next up is Jose Perez 54110 and nots on the corner he's the third baseman get to this part of the batting order Caris scale now one for nine and Perez one for ball four ball four and saw what a fast ball looked like they would step back and ask the Umpire like is that what it's like when I pitch how does anybody hit it they realize this is a hard thing to do and may have actually helped pitchers realizing that's not easy right and you know absolutely I I'd go back to thinking about facing a guy like Chris Sail who arm angle you never seen before in your life tough to hit all right so yuzuki ozal with a short stop squares that's a strike got the leadoff man on Japan did last 2014 to 2019 Yuki was between 2 and 7 years old first time ever on a ball field was actually with the L program out of Torrance he told me ever since he was 7 years old here in the US he's been thinking about Williamsport back in Japan he'd watch YouTube clips of the international game so this is a huge dream come true for him his next dream he told me to come back to the United States he wants to play college baseball well on his way I love that yeah and what did he once describe the difference that was there some app description he said between baseball in Japan and baseball in the US yeah he said it was fun in the US in Japan it's more like a BS they're looking to a way to get into more baseball that's a great pitch on the [Applause] corner get another look at strike three for Ozawa I believe right yeah he's gone strike three this a slider that kind of starts right at him and cuts right over the plate does a nice job of getting that vertical and horizontal movement right there if he could command that more often today have more of that [Applause] Su starting to see a little off speed now from bur he's ahead 0 and two to for who's 57 125 lbs does Jud has a pair of gloves from shohi Otani where every kid at his Elementary School got one and on those gloves it says let's play baseball we can see again just another example of the Otani effect on kids in Japan and baseball how special is that that's pretty cool but get another look at this slider down in the zone looks like he's found the release point of that pitch right there doing a good job of repeating that delivery it's good spot three strikeouts in the game beo who just struck out has gone in and he will take the place of Beretta so they exchange speed here [Applause] second baseman is very deep too and that one is to third smed over there suji so good has to apply the tag as he ridita good boy ball on the ground equals up right there b cover a lot of ground on both sides unique batting stance for okam who comes out of it to swing [Applause] hits it grabbed it looked up instead of just staying down there on the baseball make sure you get that first then try to be a little quick with a good backup out there in right field though second base both in a good position understanding that the ball might be overthrown last batter in the order Baker zar too high landera is at first base and it's the second base runner that they have had Venezuela you get into the dangerous part of this order after this can they get a double play and get out of it a bun that was behind the plate there's no call here [Applause] should be a foul ball at least from up here it looked that way X we get another look [Applause] here definitely looked like from our first it came off the plate and he picked it up on the dirt right kind of lose it right when he goes to pick it up there you have a little view of it right there they do call it a foul ball zaga tried it again we had a wild one last night by the way the last batter he swung at it late and he actually hit the baseball into the catcher's M like it it was not your basic foul tip he hit it into the mid that ball is driven to left field and it's deep it's way over the head of Fama zarag on his way to Second and coming in to score the first run for Venezuela landua one nothing on the last man in the batting orders triple Zara doing a nice job of sitting back on the offe speed pitch you see it saw the spin recognized it got the barrel out in front huge drive out there to left that Ball's touched one hop in the wall out there but I love the base running too from Zara he understood that this is going to be a relay from left Center as soon as this Ball's overthrown him as a trail Runner seeing that and making sure that he got the third base aggressive base running helps you less than two outs with the runner on third so now big runner at third and how about zoga lulling everybody to sleep with the two bunt attempts and then he fires a triple all the way to the wall Venezuela up one ZIP I love that you know tonight we're going to talk about how Florida last night benefited from the last six hitters in the lineup and here it is the 12th man who delivers the biggest hit I thing too rabi a couple of mistakes we don't normally see from right get the error from the pitcher over throwing first base and you left fielder over throwing the cut off man just those teaching moments and we understand how important oh that's a rocket off the bat of YZ Venezuela's got a two nothing lead epis will head to third H about backto back triples for Venezuela and a two nothing lead over [Applause] Japan Luis YZ as far as what I've seen probably the most talented player here at the Little League World Series International side doing a great job of just going with the pitch you see it in slow motion his legs are Underneath Him the barrel is through the zone for a long period of time and that Ball's roped to right field but he does not stop running either and make sure he gets himself in the third [Applause] easily now for teams that don't generally hit the ball for extra bases backto back triples here in the top of the fourth and Venezuela now has a two nothing lead that's the fourth hit of this World Series for Luis yepes and boy did that look professional just not a whole bunch of lower leg movement and it was driven Asus Diaz with the infield in tries to add another swing and a miss and you mention infield in here trying to cut down the run at home PR fly one ball two [Applause] strikes second time through the order now you've seen a lot of the off speed early that first time through we saw Luis yepez make an adjustment do we see these other hitters Contin to make the adjustment here off of Onre yep is at third base after a triple and the onew to Jesus Diaz doesn't Chase doesn't get too far away terrific job by babay behind [Applause] [Music] home the game is turned on a couple of triples [Music] and this one is to center field back goes to Naka he's under it he makes the play tagging yep is a sack fly and Venezuela is ahead three to nothing great job by Jesus Diaz to [Applause] deliver and freus sends one deep to right at the one oh it is caught at the wall Ito may have taken a home one away from Json frees well we talked about web gems add another one Su Yoshi ETO getting himself back to the wall concentration glove up lock it in and look how pump my man is to make the catch maybe Sports Center top 10 r maybe maybe last hitter in the lineup 13th hitter and then Luis yepez rocketed one to right so back to back triples Frasier stood up flicked off his fingers they were burning for an inning and a half oh it was it was up here warm that one get him foul foul he says foul what you got X knob looks like no it looked like it might have got the hand there on top really for Venezuela this the last thing you want games have been these hit by pitches the Batters stand so close and uh yeah two two to Tanaka and this ball is lifted to right center field Caris scale going over no one gets to it to Second and to third the throw comes it's dropped there by pz and Japan is right back into it a nice piece of hitting here going to the opposite field drops in between both kesel and zaga nice job of zaga at least picking it up recognizing hey I can get this ball over the third very strong arm but that has just tried to apply the tag without really having the ball right there the three two and two wavi swings and fouls it straight back oh he just got out in front of it and laced it foul I can see where he after a [Applause] double and he walks in ball four last man he faces reaches and the bases are loaded and we will have a pitching chain game Bas is loaded isn't the one with no outs he did a good job that's what he was told and he did he leaves with a zero on the board and a little fist bump at high five for the next guy gave up some walks but found himself getting back into the Zone getting that release Point used the slider in the fast ball well mixed very other team's [Applause] pitcher to put him and he walks in a run and he looks to his bench and says I know I know calm it down but it's 3-1 still nobody out and the bases Stay Loaded strike zone is and wait a lot of we got shoes lot of shoelace issues another big pitch oh he gets the call strike three and now it's iida who can't believe it and they throw a first and Diving get another look hereid to started walking towards first base yeah which led the runner at first hreo to think I should just walk to Second cuz it's a walk right right there he thought it was a walk Not only was he walking he was bouncing he saw it he thought hrio was was just taking a bag going a second base that's a missed opportunity Mora had the ball in plenty of time definitely Strike Zone that that one looked off while the others that were thrown looked a little bit closer to the Zone look at by how much he had him out if he turned and just got the tag down you understand the rush because usually the guy is back there he was so far off right and it's one of those ones as a first baseman he attempted to swipe instead of kind of just putting the the glove in front of the bag it's kind of what we're taught as first baseman you know as you start to get higher up these levels with the back pick see if he just puts his glove down in front of the bag it's almost like the hand has to work around him yep and you see willam's more frustrated with isuki Ozawa and Ozawa sends it to center field and they run her at third left a little early Caris makes the play and fires it back in and there's no tag because the runner at third to knocka went halfway down the as soon as this Ball's hit you have to go back to the bag or stay on the bag you can't assume that this is a base [Applause] hit orama beats it into the hole it's short it's fielded there the run from third comes in well yepes was playing so hit slow enough they might have had an opportunity to score two if this ball gets past yepes but with the speed of him and his ability to be smooth Fielding he's able to get to that baseball and is's able to check the runner at third trying to get Two Face Runners the pitcher and the catcher look to get someone for wat the I think you can only do one at a time I think he's trying to do Quant Nai over at third and hreo at second they're going to allow both so Off Third [Music] Base this is brutal for Freight on the mount and I'm glad obviously fright this shouldn't be penalized definitely want to make sure you're staying warm there frus hasn't thrown a pitch in about seven minutes and the bases are loaded in a 3-2 game and how about that see a 12-year-old you come back in a 3-2 game strike three there it is he Rings him up he will leave him loaded frus woo third inning five runs 61 pitches 40 minutes see they don't know who they're going to play yet Japan or Venezuela but they hit gr Carl ravage here and now time to hold him the bust yeah he stayed back on that one and really got the backside through it you heard the sound right off the bat as that thing rocketed right over the head of Tanaka tanak nice job of getting that ball off the fence and firing it be a huge run for Venezuela and beo sends one to Center this time Tanaka has camped under it and he makes the play [Music] and he swings it one shallow right field coming in EO makes a nice play planted the knee in the turf left to divot go on to the International Championship Game loser will see their summer come to an end when it comes to baseball it'll start with Yuki suuji 12 13 and 14 up for Japan ball one to suji from Johnson freus see some good at bats from the lower part of the lineup today yes suji with the walk already fujara has himself a couple RBI so no chumps at the bottom one ball one strike he's can only have a certain amount of timeouts but ouch right off the helmet and that is not what Venezuela needed a hit batter to lead off the inning pump to get drilled right in the dome I think he knows what it [Applause] means I would have been crying had Fuji Cara that one is on the ground oh what a barehanded play and a little take out there unintentionally I think but that may have got the wrist pause though to pick that ball up so quickly what a defensive play I mean obviously it's a ball that you got to make sure cuz it has some spin on it did a good job of being able to pick it up bare hand still the wherewithal to make sure he got to the bag in [Music] time okay that's the type of play that Japan has been able to good pitch at the knees on the outside corner the Shino and we go one ball one strike fre one ball two strikes a lot of times you'll see the Japanese kind of show the bun pull it back kind of helps them stay short to the baseball reminds them of where they need to be as far as when they load a lot of them do that just to be able to put the ball in play shortens up the swing one two to Shino that's outside really good job Diaz to keep that tying run at first base she's been like a cat back there done a nice job of being able to move very athletic very mobile back there keeping balls in front he's been a wall two balls two strikes into that bun position Shino comes back off it and it is outside it is three balls and two strikes with the top of the [Applause] order hold it foul right in he go no swing and that is a walk Shino will go to [Applause] First that angle definitely looks like you held up this inning we've seen a hit batter and then a second and walk need to get an out double play we go home it's top of the order it's everything you want in a game like [Music] this the tying run is at second the winning run is at first the lead off H is up and there is one out in the bottom of the six summer if you lose International Championship game if you win strike one to [Applause] quazi the infields been terrific up the Middle with yepes and [Applause] vieria inside gets away and both base runners are going to move up that is a brutal wild pitch at that time of the game that's a tough one there cuz Jesus Diaz set up outside and it was a ball that was kind of pulled to the arm side there sry pulled to the inside just couldn't really get to it especially with the velocity as it bounced off got Corners even middle halfway 1-1 to quum swing and it is one and two good fast ball [Applause] UI car is the guy down there at third base Shino is it second one ball two strikes and that one's to short they'll come home with it the tag applied out what a play by yepes to cut down the tying run at home he's been a star here in the sixth what a throw from yepez it's short well rabi I thought yepez did a great job of staying under control right with him playing halfway back he's not all the way in so he's got a little bit more room to work did a nice job with the backand and he's got the best arm here in Williamsport already so he trusted it through a strike home and quite the tag there from Jesus Diaz as well Fuji Cara had his feet up when he was heading towards home plate which made it a little bit easier for Diaz but what an arm from Luis yepez the short stop now part of what's going on on the field here too and I think they'll get some clarification but appeared to hurt that left hand of his obviously okay and then an incredible arm and throw on the money to cut down what would have been the tying run you got to be smart here with wanabi obviously you still have a base open but you don't want to necessarily walk him try to maybe expand the Zone if you can [Applause] Shino is the key Runner there at third what would be the tying run two outs and a 1 this one is popped up it is playable who's going to get it Zara is there and Venezuela survives they will play in the championship game against Chinese taipe they win it 3-2 h
