[Music] if things start going wrong tonight I suspect it could get a bit tasty yeah I think you're right I think they've got one or two gripes about Shan D and that is he hasn't put the new signings in but then he played a young player at at right back at the weekend and also he likes to he's got a plan a and he likes to stick to that working hard second balls being direct getting the ball up the pitch playing in the right areas and if that doesn't work he makes him do it harder and I think they're probably the couple of gripes so this Everton fans they don't see effort and Endeavor and hard work really high work rate tonight then they will show that they're not happy with it cuz that is the the least that you expect from this side well tomorrow night the show Comes live from wolves against Burnley West Ham Bournemouth is live on talk sport Forest Newcastle is on talk sport 2 tonight Palace norch is live on talk sport 2 that kicks off a day best way to get talk sport 2 is to have the talk sport app on your phone you can swipe between the two talk sport stations easily uh and you can also listen to times radio and all of the Virgin music stations on The Talk sport app as well as some terrific podcasts on there as well in the Bristol Street Motors trophy Liverpool's under 21's have equalized a crew 1-1 10 minutes into the game uh best way by the way to get talk sport 2 is to have the talk sport app on your phone you can swipe between the two talk sport stations easily as I say mid90s is when Oasis made their Mark it's also the last time Everton won a trophy the Gallaghers are getting back together some might say It's Time Everton got their act together let's get to goodison here's your commentary team a former lead Striker Lucy Ward alongside Sam mat and when you walk into goodison park you feel that history Alan Ball Howard Kendall Dixie Dean Neville Southall Peter Reed those who done that royal blue shirt are standing on the shoulders of giants sha dice's team are far from comparable with those of the illustrious clast if this team live forever in the Everton psyche it's probably going to be for the wrong reasons let's be clear Everton earned the same points as fron last season but this season it started slowly and tensions because of all that has gone before are already high beaten twice no goals seven conceded scrapping around for a right back they bring back Shamus Coleman tonight injuries Galore and lacking a PR up top but whatever James Everton this proud football Club cannot see its team collapse as they did at the weekend and on opening day the club has been feuding with its fans as long as the Gallagher brothers have been arguing amongst themselves where did it all go wrong what is the master plan well despite more discontent Shawn D has urged the club to stand by me and let's be honest he's probably their best bet to ensure they don't Fade Away into the championship before a takeover can happen in the new St Stadium open but of immediate concern is avoiding embarrassment tonight against a Doncaster team who almost stopped the clocks when the two met last season six changes for Everton tonight pick fo in goal Coleman Kean o' Brien and niceno irdam and Gana are the two holders in Midfield lingstrom and ji and McNeil behind fetto in attack donc cter ja and laer in goal Tom Nixon Joseph Olu McGrath and Senor the back four Bailey and Patrick KY will look to build up from Deep molu Westbrook and Gibson behind Ironside up top if you want every angle of the car caraval cup covered then be here now nine ties featured on a terrific Tuesday of cup action talk sport 2's got Palace Norwich but on talk sport it's donc cter against the toughies whose plight is familiar to Millions Lucy Ward is With Me Lucy how important is it for these new players Fringe players of ever turn to settle in quickly yeah I would say more than anything you know they're coming into a team that's losing so the shirts up for grabs so lindstrm looks like he started on the right hand side and Jay just behind Betto which I think is probably his best position and I'm quite excited to see him because he's a good Ball Carrier he's good 1 V one you know we've seen little bits of him haven't we in England playing and I just think that if he can get himself in this Everton team then he will score goals James Bell is the referee and he's already having a word with uh sham Miss Coleman down in front of us there's no V tonight as a result of us being in the carabal cup there's a foul by irham on this near side a new signing that has been blooded into the first team right from the very off he was an Aston Villa last season he was acquired by Everton and he was thrown straight into the team after his 9 million pound move he's given away a free kick on the halfway line we haven't actually got the ball anywhere more than five yards over the halfway line yet it's a bit of needle so Jack left back for for Doncaster just had a little goal with Lindstrom so hunam just nailed him straight afterwards and that's the basically the opening for the the game right in front of us on the touch line ball sent long down the right hand side by Doncaster collected over on the far touchdown by James Garner who plays it against Luke molanu and it's out for a throw in midway between the edge of the penalty area in the halfway line far on the Everton left blood lights on gray skies overhead rain drizzling down as it has been a lot of the day in the northwest of England for the Everton support for a club like this the general manager the general man manner of the drubbing of at Tottenham was more concerning than the the actual result I think the idea Lucy that this could be yet another season of strife and toil was already starting to take Route yeah I think that the central Midfield has been a problem that absolutely run ragged nunam new signing bapt baptism of fire in terms of him at at Tottenham but you've just got to forget it and get on with it and the next game this one is the most important good combination in Midfield and Gian Betto involved as the ball is Switched by Garner to The Far Side collected by Ira budham who skips Past One Challenge and moves it out to the Everton right about 15 yards inside donc cast the territory a swished across by Coleman is cut out by olao and it's cleared Again by donc cast to the halfway line Kean starts it once again for Everton in those blue shirts white shorts and white socks attacking the park endway to our right hand side Lindstrom loses control and it goes out on this near touch line Jack senior the left back will take the throw on this near side Lindstrom who signed on a season long loan from Napoli he got the move to Napoli after winning the Europa League under Oliver glasner in TR Frankfurt it was particularly impressive in that run to the final yeah it was brilliant it was absolutely brilliant that team had a couple of good plays c as well has gone to Palace here is Coleman cracking into a challenge with Zane Westbrook and the ball deflects off Westbrook and goes out on this near touch line in a way for a throw into Everton so nil nil the score we've played just a little other three minutes a little bit of a mishap by Comm gives the ball away and it goes back infield picked up by Gibson the shot by Westbrook is from 30 yards out goes straight into O'Brien and Jake O'Brien making his full debut tonight for Everton Spoons the ball out for a throw in down the right side midway between the edge of the penalty are and the corner flag yeah been a bit loose in possession Everton players first Betto out for a throwing but also there Jimmy Garner made a mistake and just allow Doncaster in and just a few nerves ball thrown in taken down by Ironside is's being Marshal by O'Brien he gets turned by Iron side who sends the cross centrally it's blocked and helped Away by mikeno and out for another throw donc cter got back to winning ways at the weekend after suffering defeat at the hands of Newport the week before all in all they've bounced into the season with three wins in four in all competitions after finishing last season impeccably really Grant mccan side was struggling around about 20th position in March they went on an astonishing run 12 games unbeaten they made a late surge for the playoffs Everton have won it back in the left fullback position inji tries to nudge It Forward betto's going to pick it up here despite the intervention of a Doncaster player Westbrook cuts across his path nudged him to the floor free kick just left in the center circle Everton wants to get it moving quickly they do so Betto sends it back to iRun back out wide to Coleman a little step over by Lindstrom but he didn't read that at all well and it went through his legs and picked off by Senor who went Galloping up the other end and IR OPP have to come across and Slide the ball out of play rotheram has taken the lead against Fleetwood 1- n to Steve Evans side and here it's still goalless Here's Lucy Ward yeah they're just playing in the wrong areas a couple of times and J Too Many touches on the ball we received it and thing about Everton is they're a proper transitional team you know when they play it right that they get up the pitch as soon as they win the ball back but too many touches from inj he's trying to sort of feel his way into the game and not really allowed to do that cuz T will press them we will keep you in touch with all the other ties that are taking place tonight there's a huge number of games that are taking place and we'll have reporters at all the key matches and there's live commentary of the game that kicks off at 8:00 Crystal Palace norwi on talk sport 2 Good Touch by Betto into inji or trying to feed the ball through to mcneel not once but twice and both times it was blocked the second time Westbrook the first time good work by Tom Nixon to stop that from going through and I think maybe they will feel they should have worked that out to McNeil over on the far side cuz they the overload yeah and Ja had it there and it just need to take better care of it your pass just a little bit easy o just like I said trying to feel his way into the game but that pass just put it in the space Evert to need a KN of feel good fun in the caraval cup in the early rounds can sometimes bring that not necessarily guaranteed to get it tonight against the Doncaster who took the lead and ran them close at this stage last season a night where Everton had to be rescued by late goals from Betto and danjuma pford stands on the ball inside his own D Preston harassed from behind by Patrick Kelly who they picked up on load Betto tries to spin and turn past Jay McGrath across comes the uh fullback on the right hand side Tom Nixon to clear out to the near touch line but Coleman gets it back again centrally inside Doncaster territory here abam picks it up Garner to the left collected by mikeno further one it goes to mcneel being shadowed by molo on that Far Side comes into James Garner who's just left of the center circle then a turn by and Joe's a little bit too deep here and uh can't beat the uh doncar de press they are very energetic they are very fit they will get up and in your face tell you what though Sam here's McNeil trying to burst in by by W olao comes back past Betto into the center it goes for eni and it's missed Lindstrom can't get there and it's cleared Away by the doncastle defense there a few mishaps there as Everton tried to construct an attack no one really taking responsibility for taking the shot and putting the ball in the net BTO had a good chance and Ja should have just finished it off he SL it across the face of goal and it was missed by Lindstrom yeah that's much better from Everton as soon as Everton start to move the ball quicker and it be a little bit more direct get the ball wide ball into the box it causes problems for for donc cuz when Don just sat in that 442 shape or 451 Everton really struggle against him but as soon as you move it quick get the ball wide into the box that's where Everton the strongest ke plays a ball but it's loose into Lindstrom and then he wrestles Patrick Kelly to the floor and Patrick Kelly puts the uh hands on the floor and says free kick ref please and referee James Bell obliges Kelly started at the weekend he think 19 in Northern Ireland under 21 International he they think a lot about him in Northern Ireland Lee Mullen Luke Mullen you thought that he was fouled over on the far side referee shook his head said no chance the rain comes tumbling down here once again irdam leads the charge and drags Everton up the pitch into the center circle plays It Wide Coleman now flicks it Round the Corner into the right wing position for the tall and lanky Lindstrom very wiry on this near touch line trying to get the better of senia but Sena holds him up and actually you know he has been thrown in tonight Lindstrom and he I think he's already found that is in a battle with see yeah physically this is going to be a lot different in terms of he's just he's already found out that he can't take two three four touches on the ball which he's tried to do because he just gets he just just gets closed down physically so he needs to move the ball quicker elsewhere tonight Stoke lead away at Middlesboro that game kicks off 6 7:15 uh Rotherham lead Fleetwood by a goal to nil away from home let's go down to the MX stadium and get an early update from talk sports Alex crook we've only played nine minutes it's Brighton Neil Crawley Neil but already Brighton's 25 million pound debutant Matt O'Reilly is having to go off here he's been carried off the pitch by two physios I've got to say it was a really poor tackle from the Crawley Captain Jay Williams over the top of the ball and he looks in a lot of discomfort and he is visibly fuming Matt O'Reilly Brighton nil Crawley nil well you hope that's nothing more than an impact injury but that's the worst thing that can happen on your debut for your new club isn't it absolutely there's absolutely hope it's not too bad but there some fantastic signings haven't it I love kolu best one of the best left backs in the in the euros and they're going to play him at right back you know he's going to play at right back for Bri he can play Both Sides he's a right fo he was right footed actually and he did very well Euros you and I were both at the uh the turkey Portugal game we were at the uh I think you saw me you know what it was it was your hat that you were wearing I just just was compelled by them your bucket hat that you kept walking around cuz the sun was too too much for you apparently yeah Dortmund was very low anyway it's raining here it is very much so ball sent down the left hand side Everton could do a bit of sunshine uh the ball is played into the Left Channel it's retrieved by Doncaster and picked up by Westbrook who eventually conspires on this near touch line with uh Bailey goes back infield iride chasing Bailey goes to try and pursue pford who has the ball at his feet and eventually colan will get it clear up towards the halfway line Betto tries to dive after the ball goes out on this near side by the way you big Oasis fan um yeah sort of I don't think I'll be I don't think I'll be queueing for tickets don't don't do it don't do it leave it for someone who really really wants them you clearly [Laughter] don't let's go down and get a goal uh at doas Road Ole clink 11 minutes gone it's QPR 1 Lon nil hton Santos has put Rangers in front it was a shot from the edge of the box from Elijah Dixon boner it was parried out by Kaminsky and there was heon Santos to nail it into the back of the net and QPR lead QPR one Luton nil they drawn the last two games in the championship Queen SP Rangers and haven't kept a clean sheet so far this season so that will be encouragement for Luton but Luton yet to win this campaign and confidence has taken her real hit since dropping to the championship 12 minutes gone here Everton looking for a bit of a confidence booster have the ball deep with Jimmy Garner who moves up towards the halfway line plays it out wide to Coleman Coleman a little bit ring Rusty gets his pocket pinched by uh Westbrook who plays it infield Bailey then gets d by irham and they come away with the ball n fetto is released through the middle but ol has got there first he's tapped it back to his goalkeeper and Ian laa has to Scurry back to prevent an own goal he always looked confident enough to be able to do that but they almost wrong-footed each other yeah although was certainly first in the ball try to pass it back to his goalkeeper L had already come out but he got back in time but Everton just needs to simplify what they're doing cut the touches down play in the right areas and I'm sure that's everything that Shawn D said to them before this game you know they're taking too many touches in the wrong areas of the pitch and being closed down by Donnie here is Jimmy Garner again under pressure and again you know Grant mcan's done a very good job with them they are in confident mood they like to play a progressive style essentially attacking possession style of football but they go after you you know they win the ball back quickly they want to turn it over they want to get it forward in a good way they can mix it up as well if they want to go over the Press what you'll see is they play with huge energy and they've got really enthusiastic young players they've got nothing to lose donc cter they come here to goodon they know that Everton are not in a good place so if they can work out close down keep a good defensive shape and then just look for the opportunity to get themselves forward well you get the feeling with Everton they'll always give you a opportunity that's for sure Bailey wrestling with Keane Keane was struggling with him he got a free kick in the end but wasn't the easy thing to deal with Everton won't be expecting to be ripped to shreds the way they were at the weekend by Tottenham but they can't rest on their lals here and I think they've shown that there is an air of fragility around this Stadium yeah absolutely I think in the players as well I think sometimes you know you've just got to be brave as a player and what I mean by that is just show for the ball if you make a mistake doesn't matter just get on with it and ask for it again because that's the only way to get out of bad piece of form iram's been quite Lively since the start of the game and he's LED Everton through the Midfield once again bumped into mcgr but it's back with Garner enji trying to his way forward lays it off to iRun who wants a bit of movement in front of him but again donc Casto plugged the gaps and got back into shape well they're on the halfway line here moving the ball to the left mikeno back to O'Brien Jake O'Brien who signed in the summer from Leon for 17 million it's first appearance for him for Everton he made 32 appearances and scored five goals for Leon last season he's the first first Irishman to play in league and since talk sports Tony cascarino would you believe right let's go down to the de Ian Abrahams mil nil late or one Dan AG he's got the goal it was a lovely work goal actually once they pick the ball out of Fe e pocket and from the edge of the pedal J Fire past Liam Roberts mil nil Lon orent one second bottom in League one Lon Orient lead milw by goal to nil after making seven changes here's Lindstrom down the right channel for Everton nil nil here trying to get to the by line tries to get the cross it it's blocked by mcgar and goes out for the first corner of the game yeah the thing that Everton lacked quite a lot last season they're quite a functional team they don't really have that much game Craft only probably mcneel but now that nji is coming Jimmy Garner's got that in his locker as well they just need those sort of creative players to get the ball in the right areas yeah s b themselves into the game really here is eni taking a touch back towards McNeil but McNeil's in an offside position when he receives the returns they took the corner so sort of just in front of the edge of the penalty area and J made a darting run towards him then played it back to mcil but mcil just not looked along the line yeah I mean from here from the angle there's about 50 uh posts in my way and about four TV screens but I think what I saw was it didn't look offside but he obviously hadn't got himself further out it's a lovely old stadium but I don't think too many people will shed a tear next summer when we move into the slightly brighter area of uh area of uh stadium and uh facilities let's go back off to lus roers but another goal for O King hold on a second because McNeil's got the edge of the penalty here trying to SNP in Betto he was caught in two mins he was going to shoot then he was going to feed Betto and then in the end he did neither and donc cter looked to break in behind Coleman but Coleman steps across just sit down and clears off so let's go off to Ole clink at L's Road it's The Equalizer QPR W Luton one and it's an absolute Beauty from Zack Nelson the ball was drifted in from a corner it was headed away it dropped to Nelson on the half volley and he's fired it back in to the top left hand corner brilliant goal and Lon a level QPR won Luton won it's only the second goal this season that Luton have scored and uh that goal coming from Zack Nelson means that it's 1-1 there and QPR continue their trend of not being able to keep a clean sheet so far this campaign nil nil here ball on the right side with Luke molanu who has a great way of unlocking defenses and he's turned the ball around the corner towards the right hand side and then Nixon on the overlap on the Right Touch line brings the cross into the box looking for the Run of ir ins side it's headed Away by Kean and picked up by Patrick Kelly who goes past Lindstrom tries to push it centrally it's cut out by aab budham and now a chance for Everton to try and clear upfield they go at PACE over on this right hand side Lindstrom looks up floats the ball into the penalty are is a poor delivery and it's cleared away right let's head off to vicarage Road Alfie Reynolds Watford W Plymouth nil with 17 minutes gone rovic with a beautiful flicked finish which has nutmeg Grimshaw in the Plymouth goal the fans at vickerage Road seeing a replay of it enjoying it and it was an absolutely brilliant finish from the striker second goal of the Season we've played seven minutes Watford W Plymouth nil what great start the campaign Tom cleverly's had doing really well at the top of the championship table and seeing goals like that Wayne Rooney in contrast hasn't really enjoyed his first few weeks in charge of Plymouth I don't think 18 gone Everton nil donc cast Rovers nil you're listening to talk sport over on talk sport 2 the game just started between Crystal Palace and Norwich and remember tomorrow we've got two commentaries for you West Ham bourma for noning and Forest against Newcastle United where we could see Sandro tanali for the first time since his ban Friday night luden QPR we'll see that game play again but this time at kennworth Road in the championship on talk sport 2 and Saturday 2 1230s Arsenal against Brighton in the Premier League is on talk Sport and Burnley against Blackburn oh always a grudge match between those two he's live on talk sport 2 tell you what donc CER are growing in confidence that haven't really looked that troubled apart from the couple of times that Everton have gotten the ball in behind but Everton looked like a team that haven't scored this season and have' conceded a lot of goals they don't particularly look that confident but I think a goal would just boost them but it's where that comes from on this pitch where is all this come from really because I know there's uncertainty behind the scenes and obviously there's been a collapse of takeover deal another takeover deal then didn't go through it they thought that was going to happen and then they've got John texter waiting in the wings to sell his Stak and Crystal Palace But ultimately last season if they hadn't have points deduction they would have finished 12 absolutely they had good runs in the Premier League as well but always Under Pressure because they were near the bottom here is enji Edge of the AA sets it back for McNeil who tries to bend it towards the goal it's blocked on the way through and goes out for a corner yeah that's better Everton looks so much better when they take limit touches and passes to get the ball up the pitch because they're quite willing Runners they will get up there and support Betto and that's certainly where they've got the corners from and and chances on goal so far tonight harag Neil Preston one is the latest score line we've got another goal in the game at hyb where Fleet would have equalized against rotheram here it's still goal us as we prepare for this corner which James Bell the referee just going to delay because of pressure on Ian laa the Doncaster goalkeeper in his yellow jerseys I mean i''s say it's yellow it's sort of a dirty yellow isn't it mustard yellow and not one of those fluorescent numbers but he is being pursued by Lindstrom and watching him is Luke molanu and they're getting in the goalkeeper's way and he just about got up there and flapped it away as the ball was bent in by mcneel it comes out the other side and now they can try to come forward Kelly Clips it in towards the halfway line it runs over the head of same Westbrook and Everton have got it back again I tell you what Jake o'ban was asking the question of the referee that he thought he was fouled in the area we don't have V but referee was in a good position didn't think it was but arms all over the place and it happens all the time doesn't it in those sort of set pieces when you're trying to defend against taller players and we mentioned Dai kamada a little bit earlier on he's got the first goal of the evening at cell Hurst Park it's Crystal Palace W Norwich nil there's been a goal at Grimsby for talk sports Dave rad Grimsby won Sheffield Wednesday nil could be a shock on the C here Cameron MC Janet the center back up on the back with a header from a corner sent in by Vernon from the right hand side lovely deck Header by MC Janet and the league two side here are in front grimby one Sheffield Wednesday nil heavily beaten this week against Nots County as well Grimsby but they're in front tonight David AR's men here is irham back to Kean Keane out towards the near side then checks himself and comes back infield to irham 21 gone this is talk sport under the lights at good Par Ball picked up by andai who's offside over on the far side again yeah andai is just trying to move around the pitch trying to find himself a bit of space and it's about building up those connections it's good chance for these new players to play in this Everton team but you know they don't play together normally so andjay is just not quite got on it and I've seen him play well I've SE he's such a good player I think when he gets used to and he gets settled at Everton he'll be good and let's go off to Blackwood eward Park Mickey Gray is where we have a penalty s for Blackburn r as aror sigon was fou by Oliver Casey in the 18 yd box Stonewall penalty and M gay is just about to step up scored in the last round against stockall County he waiting on the referee below a whistle now steps up and he fires it in low into the bottom corner the championship Take the Lead Blackburn one Blackpool nil started the season so well Blackburn seven points from three games free kick here what a little pirouette from Gibson on this near side he picked the ball up Jordan Gibson then just sort of wandered into a Central Area then tried to turn away was found and he's w a free kick in a really dangerous area Lucy W tell what you got Jordan Gibson on the left hand side and Luke mullu and as soon as they get the ball they haven't had it that often but they look confident they face up the defender and they're try and take out whether it's from out to in or whether it's down the side that they certainly tried that and they look confident they look like they all of a sudden D they think hang on a minute Everton are not really offering us anything here we've got a chance fiveman wall just about a yard inside the 18 yd box Gibson standing over it he F his chances here pford trying to line up that wall he's going to strike this one he has got two players to his right hand side if he wants to try and create a little bit of a diversion and Gibson here lining up this free kick it's around about 27 yds from goal it's a shade left of center the open side of the goal is where he's going to aim at in front of the gladi street steps up right footed tries to knuckle it hits the top of the wall and goes over the top and out for a corner kick to Doncaster their first of the evening nil nil yeah and as usual Everton in terms of their defensive set pieces are usually quite strong whether it's against a a free kick wall did its job but now they've just got to defend a corner I would say that the taller team Everton so it's just about how Don has to work the ball into the box a couple of big ons come up from the back yeah mcgraff is up from the back so is olao Ironside is tall he's being watched by aab bunam at the front post and the corner about to be taken over on that Far Side m is just lurking on the edge of the 18 yd box with intent Senor has put the ball down and he's going to whip this in left footed he's a crowded penalty era he's gone short actually in the end and then it's given to molu eventually on the edge of the penalty are he sends it back out wide Westbrook gets it out of his feet and there's space here for a Senor who shoots towards the far corner and pford is CAU into the first real save of the night it was a brilliant move actually and it did out Fox the Everton defense came to senior on the edge of the box he just took a touch to set it and then left footed ared the ball towards the far corner and pford had to make the save yeah I talked about how dun has to work the ball into the box they actually did it really well from the the right hand side and then it ended up with a shot and Jordan pford he saved it he saved it well but that was well worked by donc cter senia and Westbrook combining again on the edge of the penalty here Gibson's got it this time he'll float the ball into the box a little flick up into the air by Iron side it hits keen and it's cleared and then garana tries to break but very very quickly Nixon was across the ground and he stopped him from doing so made him stop in his Jacks and Everton are halted and Doncaster have got it back inside opposition territory nil nil the score you're listening to talk sport penalty at St Andrews for talk sports Ian dant penalty for Fulham after handball in the box from a shot by KY it was handled by claraa referee Keith strad pointed to the spot at the Tilton Road end and it's Ral himne up against Ryan olop to give Fulham the lead we played 9 Minutes booze around the stadium they feel it was a harsh decision given by the referee but upstep simz now right footed against alsop and sent it into the bottom corner sends alsop the wrong way and the Premier League side Take the Lead Birmingham nil Fulham one Fulham have shown really intent in the transfer market last season's semifinalist one up against Birmingham who have actually you know Tak a little bit of time to settle into their stride they are the league one title favorites they're taking seven points from nine so far but they're behind tonight to what they believe is a controversial decision 26 minutes it's Everton nil donc cter Rovers nil here and donc cter of League 2 taking on the team bottom of the Premier League at this moment in time and the way the confidence is they feel as if they're right for the picking but Betto has skipped past hu and fed the ball down the right side to Lindstrom lindstrom's in the penalty area on the right side of the Box Clips it to the far post again his delivery isn't perfect and it's scooted behind and gone out for a goal kick away to our right hand side yeah you're just looking for moments of positivity from an Everton point of view and that was a good turn from Betto and he just released lindstrm in that right inside Channel but he just didn't get the cross right but that's better you know you look at positives from an everon point of view he re him in in central Midfield I think he's doing really well I think he really struggled at the weekend against Spurs but he's certainly got his right head on tonight he's winning he's winning tackles and he's certainly passing well you were talking earlier in the day about the uh PR ECT of that Everton Midfield and the problems that they'd had in the opening few weeks of the season and the the chance that maybe they needed to try and strengthen that if they could oral mangala who uh was at nonam Forest last season looks like he's going to join on loan he'd be a good signing from uh Leon Leon owned by John tter there's no such thing as coincidences s McNeil out to the left T side hoisted forward by gner Betto well he got the better of olao but felt he was being tucked back actually the referees pulled that back for a free just left at the edge of the center circle they quickly want to get it moving they rushed it Gana tried to feed the ball into betto's feet and then he wasted the free kick tell you what that when Donnie are not set in a defensive shape when they lose possession and they're out of shape they they really do take risks at the back they basically leave the the two center backs quite open and betto's got got the better of him a couple of times but just not done enough just not had that confidence or the the end product here's Coleman bursting from right back into the central area and then McNeil gets it shoots cannons off the defender almost comes through to Betto another wild lunge from Betto and as the ball was taken away by Bailey and referee James Bell pulls it back for a free kick on the edge of the penalty area it was a little bit rash that yeah you know what that's frustration because Betto has done couple of things in the last 5 minutes where he's you know he's got a turn on he he's passed the ball well but it just hasn't quite happened for him and he knows that this is this is an opportunity for him to score goals and and take the shirt because they've not really got that many options Pascal lein undefeated Fleetwood have turned it around at hyb it's Fleetwood two rotheram one elsewhere halim middlesbor Stoke Stoke leading by goal to nil Blackburn a one nil up against black Paul it's Grimsby one sheffeld Wednesday nil harut nil Preston one milw nil Lon noran one QPR one Luton one hsfi one nil up away at Walla Watford a one- nil up against Plymouth Fulham one nil up against Birmingham and Crystal Palace lead on T sport 2 against Norwich if you haven't heard your team it's nil nil it's nil nil here as Everton come forward with Coleman on the by line using across from the right hand side headed across the face of goal by McNeil but it doesn't drop for betterto and it's cleared Away by Doncaster yeah there's just a bit of tension as soon as the ball enters the box from an Everton point of view there's tension about who's going to take the risk who's going to have a shot that was sort of Illustrated in the first few minutes when they put together a reasonably good move actually which ended up coming down the right hand side and ji found himself on the edge of the six-yard Box instead of putting the trigger he tried to square it yeah and that's about said about being brave take that shot doesn't matter whether they boo you you just just keep trying here is enji again nudging the ball into the Left Channel McNeil with the effort tries to fly one at 4 5° angle towards the far Corner laa moves to his left and finger tips the ball around the post yeah we haven't really seen that much Dwight mcneel in that sort of position had a couple of shots that have been Wayward but that was a great effort laa did really well and just gone out for a corner and opportunity again for Everton to get o'briant and Keen up from the back and try to work you know how good they are at set pieces plays most weeks plays most games SW McNeil in fact he featured in each of the last 44 games in all competitions he's coming around the back now trying to influence the play as he swings the ball from the corner towards the far post by the goalkeeper chance that Sam it was O'Brien again he got he got brought down the last time and was appealing for a penalty goes really wide and comes in at that far post and it actually drops on the floor for him and he s stooping to head it and didn't get it right but it's sort of just tipping in Everton's favor those set pieces need to get one right yeah it was drifted right towards the back edge of the sixy box he was coming right round the back and he was so far wide of goal even when he tried to scoop to get on the end of it the angle was so very very tight ball picked up by inji back into Midfield and Lindstrom wanders centrally from his right sided position up towards the edge of the Dee but Neil can't thread the ball through to Betto it's cleared away so we'll go off for another goal at St Andrew talks ball here and Dante Birmingham city nil Fulham 2 and Jay Stanfield scores against the club re scored 13 times on loan last season quick free kick for Fulham inside their own half caught birmingham's back four completely Square standfield on side scored and did not celebrate Birmingham city nil fham too Brighton and Crawley have only ever met once before that was January 1992 Brighton thrashed them 5 nil how are they getting on tonight Alex crook well they've got the first one Brighton one Crawley Neil Carlos bber with the through ball picking out the Run of Simon ad dingra his finish in off the goalkeeper wott and it's Brighton one Crawley nil yeah and I think that was highlighted earlier in the program as a possibility ad dingra was a decent pric to score the first goal tonight and he has done for Brighton and Fabian herzler is off to a brilliant start at Brighton nil nil here in contrast of the starts that Shawn D has made here and Everton have made over the course of the season with that at Brighton completely different model of how to run a football club I know which one many of the fans wish they' followed that's for sure and again Everton if they just cut the touches down in that middle third of the pitch cuz Doncaster there's just red shirts red and white strip shirts everywhere so if you take two or three touches they're straight on you they've got no nothing to lose they're working really hard off the ball but as soon as they reduce the touches move the ball and play in the right areas everon then they get their opportunities that's confidence though Lucy isn't it when you're when you're nervous when you're worried when you're concerned as maybe Lola might be here because he's come out and he's made a hash of a ball which was looped into the box by olao his clearance was really poor and then Lola CL with him and scrambled the ball away under pressure from Betto Everton couldn't make the most of it yeah you just know when things are not going your way when something like that when the opposition make a Calamity like that from the goalkeeper laa that it just doesn't land at someone's feet to side foot it into the back of the net and don't has to survive Everton in that situation where they need to get into their Vibe they need to find a little bit of Confidence from somewhere oh and vieno and pford are not going to help the situation when they Collide like that there's no communication and moleno ends up getting to the ball before Pigford and before they end up colliding with one another the ball Ricochet behind and goes away for a corner kick a real mix up at the back from those two relatively experienced players yeah you know pford came to come out and then he sort of stopped and I think that's when mikeno looked over his shoulders and thought well I've got to play it then but he then came out again pford it just needed a shout didn't it I think from the goalkeeper he can see everything yeah they've given away a corner over on the The Far Side Corners which have already caused a few problems for the Everton backline in the opening 34 minutes here at goodison Park on a rainy night in Liverpool Everton have occasionally found solace in the NFL cup they reached the quarterfinals three times in the past five seasons including the last campaign here is Luke molu from distance trying to shoot towards the far corner but he was never really going to trouble the England number one from that sort of range and he Pats the ball down into inside his box and Bows it out to the right fullback position it's actually quite quite clever how they're doing it first time Donnie they played it short they worked it round for for a shot and Everton just waited in the middle waiting for a ball to be swung in this time Everton they just dragged them out a little bit and then tried to to work it again just seeing what Everton did he's quite clever when you not really got the big hitters in there to throw it in knowing how good Everton are in the Box defending this is supposed to be the night where those new signning signings settle in show Shawn D that they can handle the riggers of English football this is a team from League 2 that they're playing with all due respect and as of yet Everton are yet to have a shot on Target in the game yeah that's the the disappointment that's like I said play in the right areas but just that confidence at the end is just something that the whole team haven't gotten it's like they don't want to shoot cuz they don't want to miss but you as a player you've got to go and do it having a shot it can Ricochet can go anywhere Coleman down the right for Everton on the attack now they play the ball infield to Lindstrom Lindstrom Under Pressure plays the ball back into arunam who was shut down by Bailey they get away with it and O'Brien brings the ball out and ask for another option as he came past the center circle and eventually they go wide to mikeno back into Garner Garner moves centrally gives it to mcneils coming to that Central position again where he can frustrate fans sometimes he's better out on the wide positions where he can produce crosses that are dangerous in the box that's what they need to do Everton at the moment he's sort of coming into a more Central position where the traffic is that's that's where yeah that's where Donnie our some Central areas are showing Everton we don't mind if you have it out wide but if you play into Central areas will be there and we've got a really strong narrow shape and this sort of defend inside Everton's shape so you're never going to unless your passes are absolutely perfect and you move it quick it'll be difficult to get there Central so need to be a little bit clever about the movement Everson but Donnie great defensive shape they they they're growing in confidence and choosing opportunities to either get forward in open play or or with set pieces Grant MCC who made the most of the early part of the summer getting lots of players in refreshing his Squad did have uh 12 members of staff on the hump for last minute Bargains and Loans last week nothing has come of it and he says they're always on the lookout he's been well supported by his chairman Terry brl and the CEO Gavin ball win not just with the recruitment but they've strengthened in every department they they've invested in the training ground they've added a 1 million pound building to provide better facilities for the players so they've got no excuses really they have added coaches analysts medical staff relay the pitches at the training ground which look like Bowling Greens now they want to give them the best environment possible to thrive and get themselves out of League two this season they're competing with Everton here Betto gets the better of mgra and then Senor drags him to the floor that's going to be our first yellow card and Senor taking one for the team because Betto actually had Ragdoll J McGrath the ball had gone up to him he used his frame well Betto and he almost got Beyond The Defender and once he had Escape senia had to pull him back yeah I mean he's he's actually winning his 1 V one Jules bet is a is a problem so it's about getting the ball into him as much as possible either play off him or he's managed to turn I would say three or four times but again it's about that final ball once he has done that Brighton leading cly by goal to nil Fleet with two on up against rotheram 1 n B lead sheff Wednesday Preston have just gone 2-0 up away harria mil nil Lon Orient 1 111 Queens part Rangers Luton Hadfield One n up Watford 1 n up Fulham 2- n up and Palace 1 nil up you're up to date on talk sport Brighton have lost Matt Riley to injury just hours after signing him which is a real worry for faman Herz everything else seems to be going his way at this moment in time Everton have got a free kick it's 5 yds outside the box it's wide on the right hand side and they've got four to at the back post and that's where Lindstrom is delivering the ball it actually doesn't reach that far it flicks off a Doncaster Defender there was half-hearted complaints that Bailey had hand ball it he hadn't and it's easily cleared away that was a poor delivery yeah it looked a poor delivery but actually it found itself through the first two dast of players who were trying to defend it but Everton it just went behind and again it just there's a few shouts from on this goodon par crowd Garner picks up a loose ball after senior's poor header into the box towards Betto it's flicked behind by mcgar instead and out towards the far touch line rescued by Nixon and will be cleared up field but it was a good delivery that time from James Garner in towards the penalty spot looking for Betto tell you what J mcgr did really well defending that because that's a a whipped ball in and Betto was the favorite to try and get his head to it first but mcgr dealt with it really well the left Center back six minutes to go before halftime Everton desperate for the Breakthrough here it's nil nil between them and Doncaster of League 2 it's back with O'Brien to keen and then back to O'Brien again O'Brien making his first start in an Everton Jersey he's big and tall and strong He's Got The Look of Jared branway about him really branway is still injured at this moment in time and Everton are suffering from a injury crisis but when you've got such a small Squad every time you pick up a couple of injuries it's an injury crisis let's go off to uh the king power Stadium there's been a goal for talk sports Jeff Peters it's Leicester city one trir Rovers nil Jordan IOU on his full debut for the club just outside the penalty area on the left hand side cut onto his right foot he curled it Murphy the keeper got a hand to it but it's in the back of the net Lester one Tran nil the first goal that trir have conceded all season I think it might be they're unbeaten at this moment in time under Nigel Atkins trir but they're behind tonight against Leicester and that goal coming from Jordan I that's how you want new signings to settle in isn't it on your full debut got a goal like that Everton would love a Deon to score a goal tonight they'd L us to score a goal actually 5 minutes to go before halftime yeah like have said it they just look like smell like a team that have just not scored a goal this season that lacking in confidence it's amazing what a goal scorer does for a team we just need that kickart doesn't really matter how they win this game it's about winning it D is right though isn't it you know they don't grow on trees you can't find them everywhere everyone's looking for one no and and they don't come for 10 million quid 75 grand a week in wages they're a lot more expensive than that absolutely a bit like you samly eh that could buy more of your bucket hats Preston have gone 3-0 off a Haro nil nil here you're listening to talk Sport and it'll be interesting to see the reaction at halim from the Everton crowd because I think you're right when things are going well for Everton they're a major asset but when things aren't going well it can be a very difficult Place yeah it can but lot of times last season they just raised these set of players up you know greeted them outside and knew that they needed to get behind them and you know the players worked for them they had a bit of hassle didn't they at the weekend at the train station where a few fans had a go at them I don't think that helps but you can understand the frustration it's like you know is a chronic lack of investment it's like the sublime to the ridiculous they had loads of investment and wasted loads and loads of money and then they're replacing players with players of lesser quality at times last season and then sha d looks around for a goal scorer and he's got calvat luin who doesn't always stay fit and Betto who Huffs and puffs and doesn't really score the goals that are needed so it's it's a bit disappointing for these Everton fans did have a reasonable record in Italy 22 goals and 65 F A he got 10 in the season before he joined Everton here is Lindstrom bursting into the box but again just can't get away from the defender it's overrun and it's cleared away and put out on this near side there was a bit of wrestling on the edge of the area before it was fed towards the edge of the Box didn't quite work out again for Everton although Lindstrom ran through a gap he couldn't get hold of the ball and it just was gobbled up by the donc Casta defense that's out on this near side I think Lyn's had a difficult evening so far looks like he's lacking in a little bit of confidence and I think that can happen to you when you're flying at a club like IR track Frankfurt everything's going well you're under a manager that believes in you then you go off to napi it doesn't quite work out as well as you were anticipating that a difficult season last year in comparison to the season before and now you find trying to find yourself again at a club where again it's cloaked in a lack of confidence here on the right side donc cast the break forward Nixon plays it out to molu jinx pass the defender produces across towards the back post it's chested down by Patrick Kelly picked up by senior Senor tries to go past lingstrom he well Nicks the ball and then gives it straight back again luckily Betto chased after it and he went careering out this near side slid off the pitch and into the advertising holding and it goes out for a throwing but again Doncaster looking confident getting to the edge of the penalty here when they gave it away Lindstrom well he just couldn't find the weight of task that was required yeah I mean Don has to look like a team that are used to winning that look confident that don't look like the frightened of losing whereas Everton looked completely the opposite and had a little bit of a run on neverton defense we just didn't have the quality at the end of it but Betto works so hard I was give that to him if he can just get some sort of goal that'll improve his confidence as well but he worked so hard to try secure that ball in that number nine position Everton last went out this stage of the competition in 2001 the year of David Beckham's last minute free kick against Greece the year of the coughing kernel on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Oasis played their baral lands gig and it was the year that the film Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was released you need to get out Mar here is eni trying to burst past the defender gets into the edge of the Box gives it to Garner right footed shot it's deflected over the top and it's only a slice of mid for Misfortune that stops James Garner from opening his account for the season it was a really good move down the right the ball went it was pulled back through the penalty area Garner went to finish and it was deflected over the top yeah that's much better J on that right hand side more positive getting in behind and they do look dangerous Everton but it's just that final ball that final I think it was U who closed the ball down Jimmy Garner's left footed shot yeah I think Nixon was there as well I think it hit both of them and went over the top and goes out for a corner which will be taken Far Side Garner drifts it in oh it's missed by Lawler and goes straight behind and away for another Corner tell you what Lawler's come out for it absolutely missed it and everybody expected him every single player expected him to get a punch on that so nobody was there to just put it in the back of the net by the way was also the year that Billy Gilmore BR Johnson Lauren James Cameron and Anthony Gordon would B just to make us feel old there's a bit of pushing and shoving going on in the center of the uh 6-y box and lindstrm has just uh ended up trusted up in the net behind laa so the referee James Bell just called a Hal to proceedings corner is going to be taken by mcneel from this near side in front of the park stand there is a little bit of tension in the air at this Stadium as we going to stoppage time of which there'll be one minute donc cter aren't the easiest team to break down they've kept 10 clean sheets in their past 20 matches and it's nil nil at Premier League Everton left footed Corner an in swinger deep towards the far post it's missed by the goalkeeper hit back across the face of go and it's rattled the post by Garner he hit it on the volley as it came back from ke's Intervention it looked like it was going far too deep but Kean rescued it sent it back to gner who smack the ball gos and when you locks in you locks in and it hit the post that rattled it's still rattling and Lucy is still n n yeah do you know what the Everton have worked that corner and they've got closer and closer each Time Jake O'Brien going really far post knocking it across and how on Earth they kept that out hit the post and it was a terrific strike but really well work they getting there with the set pieces and that's probably if Everton are going to score how are they going to score well Everton haven't gone out at this stage for 23 years but for the second sucess excessive season they are struggling to shrug off lead to Doncaster at the break it is Everton nil Doncaster nil there's a little flurry at the end there where Garner has an effort deflected over and uh then he hits the post as well if that hadn't happened there may well have been a chorus of loud booing at the end of that first half but Everton have at least shown the fans that there's something to hope for in the second half yeah you know what id I think that they worked hard there Everton players it's just that lack of quality in front of goal there were various points where right at the start in the first sort of five minutes where they looked a little bit nervous but they are working hard they are running about they are getting the ball in the right areas I think njay is settling in a little bit better as it went along but just that lack of quality in front of go and a little bit of luck I think the set pieces they were unlucky in that last set piece that they didn't end up with a goalto good enough um it's difficult you know I think that he works really hard I think that he you know playing the ball into him it sticks he's working those Jewels he's turned well but you know when you're a number nine you've got to score end of story that is the end of the story and the end of the first half story is that nobody has scored Everton came closest though Everton nil donc cter nil the League 2 sides holding the Premier League side on their own ground second half to come on talk sports uh on talk sport 2 right now it's Crystal Palace 1 nor nil here at St Andrews Birmingham city a two down at home to Fulham this was an 8:00 kickoff so still in the first half here and still a way to go until halftime but whistle has gone at Loftus road with talk sports Ole clink it's QPR one Lon one at halftime a lively first half here QPR took the lead 11 minutes in hton Santos fired home a rebound to score his first goal for the club but Lon were level just 5 minutes later a wonderful half volley from Zack Nelson from the edge of the Box Luton have been the better side Elijah adabo and Carlton Morris have looked really sharp both have worked the goalkeeper QPR have had very few clearcut chances but at the moment it's all square halim at lus Road it's QPR one luten one well first half injury time Preston North Ender through basically the Paul heckin bottom side 4-0 up already away to leak to Harriet Town mut noich has got a couple to add to Sam Greenwood's brace earlier Harriet nil Preston four Huddersfield a one up a walaw and Matty Pearson now for Huddersfield the center half has been sent off just before halftime W nil Huddersfield one but Huddersfield down to 10 men halime at vicer roads on toport is Alfie Reynolds yeah halim Watford one Plymouth nil mleta rovic with the goal which continues watford's brilliant start to the season and what a finish it was as well portius firing the ball along the floor from the by line and rovic flicked it from a tight angle Inside the 6-y Box nutmegging the Plymouth keeper Dan Grimshaw who should have done better he somewhat made amends with a good diving save later on in the half but the best Plymouth opportunity was Callum right shooting straight at Jonathan Bond when he was through on goal oneon-one so it's Watford who've won all their matches so far this season that deservedly lead here the halftime score Watford one Plymouth nil and we've hit the break at the AMX on talksport here's Alex Crook and it's Brighton one Crawley Neil the only goal of the half came just after the half hour mark Carlos BBA picked up the ball inside the center circle ran powerfully towards the cwy penalty area he laid it on a plate uh really for those ahead of him and it was Simon ad dingra who found himself oneon-one with JoJo willott in the Crawley goal wasn't the cleanest of strikes willot got something on it but couldn't stop the ball nestling in the bottom corner I have to say though Crawley have had their moments going forward Josh Flyn probably should have scored in the 25th minute he was played in by Jeremy Kelly one-on-one with Bart veran and he shot straight at the Brighton goalkeeper Flint also headed wide from a free kick and then right on halftime ban had to come out and save bravely at the feet of Flint who's been faring away the league one outfit's brightest spark it's been a pretty rough introduction though to Cup football for the New Brighton man manager Fabian Herz some crude tackles from Crawley not least their Captain Jay Williams one of which after only 8 minutes resulted in 25 million new boy Matt o having to hobble off with what looked like a pretty serious ankle injury I've got to say I've seen a replay it was a horrible tackle from Williams who wasn't even booked it's bright and one Crawley nil Alex I've seen it as well it's a disgraceful challenge I don't really know what the Crawley player is thinking of going in like that how on Earth is it not a red card it's not even a yellow it should be a red card it's probably two red cards yeah absolutely incredible and to make it worse for Brighton there was another challenge from Williams not long after this time it was on Julio Ando almost as bad he did get a yellow card for that one and he was screaming in the face of niso as he was down injured so Jay Williams it just feels like one of those nights where maybe he's trying to make a name for himself ridiculous Alex thank you very much WoW Stoke are absolutely hammering Middlesboro away in the cup 4-0 now LS kumas and milliam manhoff have scored a couple of goals inside five minutes adding to Ryan me second which was uh added on to emay Tes gal's opener on 14 minutes so that was a 715 kickoff so well into the second half there Middlesboro nil stok City 4 let's head to the king power halim there in the cup Jeff Peters it's Leicester one trir nil the league two side have been really well organized actually me behind the ball frustrating Leicester but the foxes improved steadily as the half wor on they finally broke the deadlock seven before the break Jordan IU making his full debut shifted the ball onto his right F 20 yards out smacked a terrific effort but beyond Joe he may have got his fingertips to it the 43y old Keeper at early earlier kept out a Long Ranger from IOU and made a a really smart stop to deny Oliver skip as for TR counterattacks might be their best bet for a goal they showed a few early moments of promise but of largely been on the back foot halim Leicester one trir nil halim at eward Parkers well talk sports Mickey Gray Blackburn Rover has won Blackpool nil they got the goal on 20 minutes from the penalty spot it was a foul by of Casey inside of the Blackpool 18 Yard Box on sigon just about to get his shot away in Casey just wrapped his leg around him sigon went to ground Stonewall penalty Max aray stepped up slaughtered the ball cooly into the bottom corner with his right foot Blackburn been absolutely in cruise control in the first half I think the only thing that will frustrate John eustus that they haven't got the second goal Jack Vil in Midfield has been absolutely outstanding he's had two or three very good opportunities Blackpool on the other hand they're still in it Richie K will be saying that to his players halime Rob upter has been fantastic for them he's cutting in from that right hand side with his left foot two or three really good opportunities for him but I just think they've got to get Jake Beasley and Kyle Joseph involved in the game if they're going to get something out of this game Blackburn Rovers W Blackpool nil half time of blundo Parker as well talk sports dve R Grimsby won Sheffield Wednesday nil that score line is completely deserved in fact it could be more Grimsby have been bright inventive and they forc repeated mistakes and giveaways from a very flat Wednesday side there were early warnings when both and vernam saw efforts go wide the goal came on 17 when vernam sent a corner in from the right and Cameron mcjannet was there to head home and it may well have been worse for Wednesday a deep cross was met by Kieran green who header came back off the crossbar the rebound was teed up for curri to force a decent save out of Pierce Charles very little from Wednesday going forward despite their Superior possession an early shot by kabaty was defective wide Patterson voied over but they need to improve and may call on reinforcements from the bench at the break Grimsby won Sheffield Wednesday n and halim at the Den talk sport Abrams mil nil late nor at1 a league one lead Championship thanks to Dan A's goal on 14 minutes really well taken after three Lake noran players involved in the move when Fez lost the ball on the far touch line Aggie firing home from just inside the penalty here already good for their lead as well they haven't won yet this season but they're on cause for it here because milw having managed a shot on Target in the first half up against the goalkeeper who I've already seen for myself this season in the late goal can be a little bit dodgy as suspects he's had nothing to do so far and mil rightly would booed off at halim mil nil late or one live on talk sport 2 right now they're coming to the end of the first half Crystal Palace one norwi nil and coming towards the end of the first half here at St Andrews as well and danta Birmingham city nil Fulham two was a Bright Start From The League one outfit but having bossed the opening exchanges they conceded twice in four minutes to their Premier League opponents a penalty on 10 minutes after claraa handled KY shot from very clever Fulham Corner routine their first of the game Ry Jimenez dispatched the spot kick very comfortably indeed and then four minutes later the man who was on loan at Birmingham city from Fulham last season Jay Stanfield he got the second a quick free kick caught Birmingham completely flat-footed at the back stands field in behind and curled a shot neatly past aot very nearly a goal back for Birmingham just before the half hour keshi Anderson who scored of the weekend thought he'd headed Birmingham back into the contest a ball whipped in from this near side the right but superb defending from Timothy castano on the line covering from fullback to head it off the line with Bender the goalkeeper Beaton approaching halftime what 5 minutes to The Break Birmingham city nil fulam two it was a terrific header from Anderson and a great goal line clearance quick one on the penalty a lot of controversy about it was it a pen or not do you think well I'm more interested in whether it was inside the 18 yard box as to whether it was deliberate hand ball from Kristoff claraa was a beautifully worked Corner routine from Fulham and it certainly pulled birmingham's defense out of shape and then KY had the shot from about 25 yds out and I think claraa had his back to the ball but was his arm away from his body in an unnatural position that was what's Keith str's decision was of course we are in a V free zone here at St Andrews uh and that was the decision Birmingham have just won a free kick at the edge of the area with one of the foram davut T quena bringing out Anderson but it's 2N to Fulham let me quickly mat face halim headlines big shock on the cards at bar 5 nil Stoke in front there Matt O'Reilly stretch it off or helped off the pitch after a terrible challenge down at Brighton grimby leading sheff Wednesday milw in danger of crashing out Plymouth losing again and Lucy Ward Everton still haven't scored a goal they haven't scored a goal since the 19th of May the final day of last season in the first half of the Emirates yeah it's certainly a worry and what happens is the longer you go on and you're not putting your chances away not that they've had really high quality Chan apart from that end one is that it puts pressure on the defense and it encourages the opposition to kti so now don't cast think h on we've done all right here defensively so let's take a few more risks going forward and put pressure on Everton all of a sudden then their defense is under pressure so it's about getting that goal how they get it it doesn't really matter as far as ever concerned but Grant mccan will be really really pleased with how his Donny s has gone about this first half change at halim KL Hurst is on to replace Jordan Gibson at the break which a bit of a shame because I really enjoyed Jordan Gibson's performance but Carl Hurst I think coming back from a cal injury and they want to get him minutes under his belt it is nil nil here I'll go through the 211s for you in just a second Everton have the ball just short of the the halfway line couple of steps left of the center circle with jakeob bran the new tall center half under pressure from Bailey he sends it long out to Coleman a first touch into the path of Lindstrom they can SP well on that occasion and then irham gets it back to Garner out wide to mikeno it goes Everton on the attack down the left it's Betto chasing into the left corner of the field he's beaten to it by olao who manages to get it up field but it'll only go to the halfway line pford is the Everton goalkeeper the right back Coleman Keen O'Brien mikeno they made six changes from the weekend AA Burnham and Garner in Midfield with Lindstrom on the right mcne on the left and J playing is the 10 behind Betto he in lais the dcast the goalkeeper he's not the regular goalkeeper that's Teddy Shaman Low's on the bench tonight tomn Nixon is the right back Joseph Olo J McGrath and Jake senior who has been booked on the back four Owen Bailey and Patrick Kelly holding him in field Z Westbrook pushing on a little bit further up the pitch Luke molu on the right now Carl Hurst on the left and iron side through the center halim at St Andrews he and Dante Birmingham city nil Fulham 2 11 changes for Fulham but they have breathing space at the break thanks to two goals in four minutes a penalty scored by himz on 10 minutes after hand ball and then Jay Stansfield scoring against the club he was on loan with last year just before the quarter our Mark right on halftime vson crashed a free kick off the bar for Birmingham as they tried to get back into the tie Birmingham nil FM two 3 minutes played second half here Everton nil donc cter robers nil sun has gone down now black sky above our heads bright flood lights piercing the evening Ian W standing on the touch line and there I think uh it's fair to say that sha Das has tried to change things out he has switched yeah he has he switched sorry some he switched mcne into the middle and J on that left hand side it was moving into wide areas but just probably trying to get him on the ball in there way he probably has a little bit more space yeah well he uh interesting because McNeil a lot of the Everton fans were talking about him at the weekend saying you know that when he comes infield that is a problem for him because he is very one-footed is is Dwight mcneel I wonder if he can create something that can unlock the door and J passes the ball back to O'Brien he was shut down by Iron side I do like the look of um Jake O'Brien I don't think that all the new signings are perfectly match fit which probably suggest why Sean d That's why you should trust your manager when he says that why he hasn't played certain players but I do think that Jacob Brian just looks like he's the right size he looks a little bit like branway but he looks quite comfortable when he's got the ball and that's quite pleasing for Everton fans yes it's against a league two side but still did play a uh full season for a decent side in French football he's an Ireland International as well I expect to come up against England in 10 days time I can see him actually playing on the right and branway on the on the left depending on how fit tarkovski is but you know that's options for Everton but that isn't where they've got the problem on the pitch the problem is at the other end y goals as always seemingly with Everton it's a broken record there's not enough of them in the building ball back with Ian Lawler away to our left hand side Everton have not lost a Doncaster since 1953 they've never won here Donnie ball sent long by laa up towards the right hand side headed Away by O'Brien it's out of play and it's going to be a throw in Midway inside opposition territory goal at the AMX Alex Crook and it's Brighton 2 Crawley Neil 3 minutes into the second half all started with a wonderful piece of skill on the halfway line from Julio and ciso he made his way to the edge of the area picked out the Run of Jeremy samento and he lashed home left footed Brighton two crawly now only oniso was really good on Saturday actually when we were down at the MX stadium watching Brighton beat Manchester United different opposition tonight but it looks like it's going to be the same result for a Brighton team that has started the season well and they are the subjects of our game day offering early on Saturday we'll be live at the Emirates Stadium Arsenal against Brighton is live and only on talk Sport kicks off at 12:30 rman and ey and the returning Stuart Pierce on air from 11:00 he brang me uh the other day Stuart Pierce to tell me all about his holiday I did say to him I am in the middle of an advert break can I get back to you later and he went yeah okay no problem and then kept chatting for another 3 minutes I went I've really got a ghost you been a goal at grimby Deo here equiz a grimy won Sheffield Wednesday won EK oo has got it Sheffield Wednesday have really raised their game since the halftime interval made a couple of changes one of them Valentine got fre on the right hand side pulled into the area and oako there with the finish grimby one Sheffield Wednesday one truth is he was asking me about the gig I went to on Sunday that's what he was interested Yeah well yeah it was um blossoms in Hal oh yeah okay shed seven bit of IND oh I like shed seven they're from York uh here is Mcneil over on the right hand side tucking the ball back to the halfway line irham takes it on now a couple of yards in front of the center circle McNeil tries to turn under pressure from Westbrook but manages to feed Lindstrom Lindstrom gets into the penalty area dips his shoulders go one way then sets it back but irell he drives the ball low and hard I think it took a flick maybe off McNeil on the way through either way Everton have scored but it started with Lindstrom on the right decided to release the ball early to the edge of the penalty area smashed it from the edge of the area he's been credited with the goal but Neil tried to Nick it with a celebration I think but the clarity that's required for Everton is this they have their first goal of the season they are one nil up against Doncaster it's everon won Doncaster Neil yeah well McNeil picks it up yeah he's chased position he's gone Central Put It Wide to Lindstrom who then just crossed the ball to the edge of the area arunam just struck the ball it basically passed it into the back of the net and he's probably been Everton's best player in terms of his work rate and his passing and his stuff off the ball in central Midfield but he certainly knows how to finish and it was always curling away and it's a great great effort from him and they just needed a goal Everton and that was a good one to start them off in the season it's it's McNeil's goal he's nicked it no way they've given it to him because it's it's going the other it's not going the other corner it's going centrally from irham and then I've just seen it rep I had to Crick my neck and and basically jump hole over the the reporter sitting to my right hand side uh he now thinks I'm a very weird character she's right it he's right yeah um but it did take a tiny little flick off mcneel and it's McNeil's goal goal at Leicester Jeff Peters leester lead tra here by two goals to nil Stephie madidi with a penalty after Ricardo had gone down in the box under a challenge from Jennings looked soft on the first view Leicester two trir nil and a gol for Dave Row at Blundell Park dreby W Sheffield Wednesday two what a turnaround two goals in two minutes Jamal L put Sheffield Wednesday in front sweeping move Johnson down the left hand side playing it centrally to ugbo he turn provider and Jamal low Off the Bench to score lifting it over the keeper it may have got a touch it's still bounced in Grimley one Sheffield Wednesday two El andji Jinx down the left hand side he's offside again I tell you what the the vibe just it's amazing what goals can do and it just could changes the momentum of games but this place has just come alive with Relief really and all of a sudden the players are moving it with ease and they look a little bit more confidence it's it's Madness how that works with teams Barnsley lead against Sheffield United by Goen Hill Barnsley ninth in League one looking for their first home League win of the Season Sheffield United unbeaten up until this point they're one- n down away from home at oakwell and we've got a pausing play here because of an injury away to our right hand side Sena is just getting a little bit of treatment on the edge of the six-yard Box Stoke still leading middleb by five goals to n with three minutes to go at the Rivers side and Blackburn Le black p by a goal to Neil Brighton turn up against Crawley Fleetwood 2-1 up against rotheram rotheram took the lead in that game Grimsby now 2-1 behind against shefford Wednesday at home Harry got 40 down to Preston Leicester two up milw one n down against Leon Oran QPR one Luton one shury behind against Bolton Huddersfield down to 10 players they had maty Pearson sent off in the first half they are 2 nil up away from home at the best Scot Stadium Watford lead Plymouth by goal to nil Birmingham nil Fulham 2 and Crystal Palace one nor now at half time so the Everton fans are singing we've scored a goal we've scored a goal that's a little bit of irony there you know this place has seen Top Flight titles in the last 40 years it's a club that seemingly though ever since entering the '90s really has been perennial strugglers apart from the odd flash under Martinez when they went into Europe and did well and probably should have done even better apart from uh a brief rally under uh David Moyes where they got into the Champions League places and didn't actually get into the Champions League itself it's been a really difficult few decades for this football club but the last one has been in particularly harsh for the supporters and there is that sort of sense now of sort of rather dark humor that yeah surrounds the place yeah I I think that the fans are looking forward to getting into the new stadium that looks absolutely incredible by the way but just want to enjoy this last season at goodison and not fret about relegation and look at what they're watching on the pitch and and enjoy that Jamie stere is on for Don Carter to replace Tom Nixon who uh has picked up an injury so a second substitution for the aways side who TR Now by a goal to nil they do score a lot of goals donc cter and that will be a warning to uh Everton more prolific than them now here is Betto charging forward after a mistake at the back almost got the better of Jay McGrath it goes into the arms of Ian laa Don car will be able to clear I tell you what the the Press is better in central areas now Everson what they're doing and what they didn't do in the first half was have Runners Beyond Betto he seemed to be up there by himself without not much support but as soon as enjay run forward that's what created the goals for iRun I'm not saying that McNeil is not having that goal honestly you're rolling it out you are you're taking it upon yourself to be the dubious girl talk B is the home of football correct aam's just gone diving in in Midfield he's going to get a yellow card here for what was a rather rash in John Patrick Kelly actually he's bit lucky uh Tim arunam because he could have been booked only in the first half for a rash challenge yeah you know if plays on the edge quite like that and he's and he didn't really have a particularly a good game against Spurs but he's come out tonight thinking right well I can't dwell on that and he's actually been really and he probably deserves that goal doesn't get it but need to be careful with his challenges that does show character there doesn't Heely he could have been uh he could have found himself in a spot of father I mean unai Emory really liked him at at at Villa wanted him to be in the team and you know recognize those sort of qualities that Shawn D will really get the most out of in terms of the way that he wants his Central Midfield to work stus has tug back mikena rather needlessly giving away a free kick on the edge of the penalty era after the first dcast a free kick which was taken from halfway was wasted really sent long by pford headed Away by Olu on the edge of his own penalty era era bham wins it again moleno out to the near side taken by in then back to obrien and then it's all the way back to Michael Keane away to right hand side we nearly hit the hour mark on talk sport tomorrow night West Ham take on Bournemouth in the caravel cup second round 8:00 on talksport 2 N Forest against Newcastle United ball forward to Betto from moleno in Midfield he plays the ball out towards the right ran into traffic rather than finding a gap and now iride is being wrestled to the floor by Michael Keane and it's the Doncaster fans that are on their feet they quickly take the free kingck Luke molu scampers down the right side cuts on his left foot gets away from irab bunam it's picked up and sent wide by Patrick Kelly but he couldn't quite find the pass that was required out towards senior on the left hand side and now Everton taking advantage Betto goes forward McGrath with a good challenge he sends it long Mullen you chaseing into the other corner it's a little bit chaotic and frantic all of a sudden end to end and a little bit stretched out there but Everton have just about survived that and it'll go out for a goal kick away to our right hand side one n both teams are just being direct get the ball and just send it long it just means there's been absolutely no rest by for either defense fetto has had the ball a couple of times and just chose the wrong option and I sort of agree with what he's trying to do he just thinks he's worked so hard that he wants a chance by himself sometimes you just got to lay the ball out wi when especially when you've got the support this second half and couple of times now docter have got up the pitch and you know they're not out of it not yet that is for sure and things can change very quickly on caraval cup second round night anyone who's kept a breast of these games over the last few seasons since it went to a 90minut match followed by penalties knows that things change very quickly you could be dominating a match for the whole of it all of a sudden because you haven't capitalized and got further ahead than the one nil last minute goal changes everything go out and penalties it happens absolutely Everton just need to beit thorough donc cast have absolutely nothing to lose and made a a couple of changes and see whether that's positive or not here they come down the left hand side KL Hurst trying to get into the penalty area Coleman trying to hold him off uses his body to do so Hurst him here in a tussle which eventually goes the Everton Captain's way and a free kick is given inside the penalty area away to our right hand side in the champions league tonight by the way team's looking to try and join the likes of Manchester City Arsenal Liverpool Villa and Celtic in the new look Champions League group stages Galatasaray two uh 3-2 down against young boys from the first leg nil nil in that game Saltsburg w D Kiev won but salsburg a 2-0 up from the first leg pep linders has made a great start to Life as a solo manager six wins in seven in uh Austrian football and they are Level pegging at this moment in time with d Mo KV nil nil Sparta Prague against Malmo Sparta Prague 2N up from the first leg they reached the last 16 of the Europa League last season they'll hope to get into the Champions League this campaign Champions League upcoming on talk sport in the next couple of we got the draw I think later in the week as well Thursday I think that is this game's become a little bit wild a little bit basketball light but without the Finesse and skill here is mcneel on halfway takes it out the sky Well turns and drifts into a Central Area back it goes to Coleman far side and then Garner has made a good run from Midfield and he goes down the right there's a bit of space for him right footed ball towards the far corner and it's just narrowly wide claims it might have got a touch on the way through waved away should have been a corner I think two changes about to take place George Broadbent about to come on Joe spara as well coming on he was Sil on a free transfer from Sol Hall Moos scored four goals in the National League last season including a belter in the playoffs he got two goals in the playoffs actually and he's about to come on replace Zan Westbrook and the other change subti coming Patrick Kelly Patrick Kelly comes number eight George broad so a couple of changes in Midfield and the Donny fans singing for Billy sharp quite interesting whether that happens or not Billy sharp goal yes he's very much still on the payroll is Billy sharp he started the game the weekend against morham played 63 minutes in that match and donc cter better with the flick on as pford clears up field no one to get on the end of that and it's cleared Away by Doncaster Spar first touch by him to what mcgr left Center back for doncaster's looked through it yeah really well Holo as well next to Center back Partners year quite a lot of the time they've been left quite exposed and having to look after Runners and Betto and they've dealt very well you know i'llbe a lot of Everton's play at times has been in front of the Doncaster defense which makes it a little bit more predictable to defend against got a bit of a problem with center backs because Michael Wood is injured but looks like they've sold them pretty easily here is eni fed by arunam again who's done well Andi jinking in towards the right side he plays the ball against the defender olw it's def flex and out for a corner on this dear side good run by NJ didn't have the Finish but it's started with irham again who's full of yeah I mean he's settling in now in J which is Everton fans want to see just in that inside channel on the left hand side took it found a little bit of space with his right foot and tried to curl it in but he well defended in the end here is the corner on this near side Lindstrom takes it short and ji gets it gives it back to Lindstrom over hits it a little bit but the cross is dug out brilliantly through the six-yard eror it goes and claim from in laa that it went out and came back in again but the linesman on the far side didn't flag for that that's a great little ball he had to stretch for as well LR it's actually been the best ball he's put in the Box all night which he's not saying much I think it was with his wrong foot and he wasn't anticipated which meant he didn't really have a chance to think think about it I think he's had a lot of time to think about a lot of things Lindstrom tonight including the fact that he's probably not 100% match fit and um this is going to be tough to sort of find your feet at Everton so to find your feet when they're not on Solid Ground in the first place so Brian looks a little bit more used to the place of the game already he looks like he will be able to settle in here is eni who's got the better of senior send across in the Box BTO he's there and he's narrowly wide with his header should have scored a he should have scor I tell you what and Jay all of a sudden looks like he's enjoying this and the crowd are responding and he's the type of player little bit of game craft One V one very very good and he responds to that sort of the crowd noise he wants to excite the crowd but VTO needs to put that name my word Jack Harrison L is off now going to be replaced by Jack Harrison andisa Garner Gaz coming on too so is Ashley Young James Garner being preserved I think so garneray comes on for him he was the man who got the last ever goal before that strike number 37 James Garner and his replacement number 27A g g look as if we're going to see Sheamus Coleman coming off to be replaced by Ashley Young Ashley Young was uh very good SP European Championship number 23 team captain Sheamus Goldman is replacing number 18 Ashley Young that's a standing evation Sheamus Coleman not necessarily sh Young's a popular replacement among some of the everon supporters yeah not have to getting sent off well it's still only one n but that chance they just had was an example of what Everton fans would be hoping for going forward makes yeah it makes a differ it changes the state of the game for Everton you score then 2-0 and you can ease yourself through the rest of the game and moment it's still on the knife edge Ghana wins it back brilliantly Ghana K finds enji and then adris gar into the center the head over across by Harrison is a little bit difficult yeah they've got to get straight into the game the substitutes that have come on for Everton because they you know they're working at a high intensity and Don Castro g go for it you know it's one nil still in the game 20 of minutes to go why not well they uh already knocked sford out away from home in the first round Doncaster that's been uh threee state in League two now for donc cter won their King to end hence the investment behind the scenes this game's not going to contribute to that their focus will be fully focused on uh promotion got big game at the weekend away at Port B but they've got to deal with an Everton corner here over on the far side McNeil's about to swing this one in no changes in any of our caraval Cup games in the last few minutes uh as it stands and the commentary have taken the lead against Oxford ball sent in towards the center of the sixy box laa with a PO punch taken down by moleno who Thunders It Go from the left edge of the area straight into the body of Jamie ster back into M molenko once again now Michael keing trying to his way forward that's not his skill set and he looked rather cumbersome as he did so molu though has got the better of Ashley Young and then Young's going to get booked yeah he had do you know what he actually had to do that then young he just he just took him out because dast Everton had this both center backs so young was at the back back when the set piece was being taken and then donc cast just throwing players forward really quickly and it just means that Everton can get back and that's exactly why and how you take a yellow card well there's still 20 minutes to go so he's got to make sure now doesn't get another one because absolutely he doesn't want to be that Everton player that gets two red cards in two games ball sent long down the right hand side flicked into the air for Doncaster by Iron side toward the edge of the area back by Keen into the arms of his goalkeeper Pigford and Everton really just need to make sure they get over this hurdle now they've got uh big games coming up although they haven't got the most trickiest of starts it's not the easiest of starts either you know they've played Brighton they played Tottenham they played Bournemouth here at the weekend and Bournemouth are a very good well organized high energy side then they've got trips to Villa and then to Leicester before they welcome Palace at the interception setember they've given the ball away cheaply here and there on the edge of the area it's come back and it's shot go brilliantly should have scored and it should have been finished off as well by Joe spara who got the ball back on the edge of the penalty area right footed opened his body sent it down low and it was saved by Jordan pford tell you what the game's just become open which is helping donca but it's certainly not helping Everton because D are getting themselves up the pitch Mistake by Ashley Young which is not welcomed it goes out of play on the fast side was there an offside flag I think by the way uh it might have been uh yeah it's going to be an offside decision against Hurst over on the far touch line they got a little bit fortunate there because young had given the ball Away really cheap cheap did really well connected well with and then really easy the Jordan Pi in terms the same that is some Testament to the Everton support by the way isn't it 37,2 145 here tonight for a caraval cup tie against Doncaster Midwood and he's throwing it down throwing it down on a Tuesday night goal at Blondell Park Dave Row Grimsley W Sheffield Wednesday three this should be Wednesday through now to round three Callum Patterson has got the goal brilliant buildup play down the left hand side the back hill by kabaty which sent Marvin Johnson free his ball across the penalty area and turned in by Patterson Grims be W Sheffield Wednesday three w got an equalized here against T man H they've come from two down it's 22 now at the bcot stadium here at 72 minutes gone and it's 1-0 to Everton and young who is not making himself popular he's not made good decisions I understand why he went for that challenge ended up with a yellow card but he's just given the ball it he just knocked the ball long down the pitch but there was nobody there Harrison wasn't there and then they've given the ball away to Doncaster in the last s a few minutes and it's just giving them that impetus to get themselves forward ball cleared up field comes through to adris gay he tries to nudge it down the touchline it's cut out by stere but there was a foul by uh Bailey on adisan so the free kick is going to be given to Everton just short the halfway line sha D is trying to encourage the rest of the substitutes to up their output down in front of let's just put it like that yeah you got to work out even off the pitch don't team as he wants to see who's willing to come on and help this team get over the line here tonight goal at Leicester Jeff Peters leester lead trir by three goals to nil Wilfred and Dei brilliant footwork in the penalty area steered it past the keeper he scored in this fixture last season as well leester lead trir 3-0 sign a new contract at the beginning of the Season Chang his number as well Wilfred indeed and he is on the score sheet again lovely turn by inj for Everton who MERS to the edge of the penalty goes on the outside gets it to the finishes it brilliantly down at the near Corner in off the post inj scores and steers Everton into the third round of the carabal cup the first goal in Everton blue for Elman and ji and he made it all himself Everton 2 don't cast a n tell you what he is enjoying life so far good some Park and J you know the first half he took a while to get himself into it but he just looks like a player that just wants to entertain and you know what I like about him as well he's he makes he made mistakes in the first half but he kep wanted to get on the ball kep wanted to make stuff happen he made the first goal for Everton and he did brilliant he picked the ball up into the center and he just turned and went straight up the pitch straight into the penalty area and finished at that near post brilliant and that is what Everton fans want to see what could have taken and scored another goal down at vicarage Road Alie Reynolds with 72 minutes played it's now Watford to Plymouth nil and that should be that rovic scoring his and Watford second of the game using all of his strength to hold off the defender and then then he just worked the ball into the corner it's a goal that you felt was coming and Watford finally have a two goal cushion Watford two Plymouth nil Billy sharp is H coming onto the pitch which means a slight change of uh makeup for uh don Castle taking Jack senior off so I wonder if that means they're going to go to a back three with wing backs and molu will be one of those two up front in Ironside and Billy sharp yeah that might work better for donc cter Billy sharp obviously as a finisher but just works well IR size it's been difficult for him he hasn't really had that good service into his feet or in behind but got somebody with him now yeah Billy sharu they tell me has been working really hard in training his distances is covered are still incredibly High his high speeded running is very good he's on the pitch now ball picked up by Harrison and now McNeil on the counter attack Jinx pass the defender brushes mcgar aside left fo he drive towards the middle of the goal it's tipped over the top so we'll go off to a goal add he would par for T Sports Mickey Gray well we might be in for a late night here s it's now Blackburn rers won Blackpool won really good play from Rob upter down this right hand side whips the ball into the six-yard area with his right foot and Jake Beasley with his first goal the season simple little tap into the back of the net for The Equalizer Blackburn won Blackpool won Blackpool been a really tough start to life in League one this season sack Neil critchley already threw away a 4-1 lead at the weekend against Cambridge but they'll be boosted by the fact they've got an equalizer late on at eward Park well 2-0 to Everton here how goodison park with nil to take the corner to give it to Ashley Young Young sends it centrally feeds mikeno bends the ball into the box Away by olao comes back out to Ashley Young Who Lost His footing once again and then he turns the ball back to his goalkeeper you just feel a little bit sorry for Ashley Young because he is not getting let's just say he's not getting the encouragement maybe that he needs at this moment in time yeah but he's a big boy he's experienced enough to to take it he knows he shouldn't have done what he did in that was it the first game or the second it was M wasn't it he dragged back in the game so he's got a little bit of making up to do but you know he just he just gets on with it but wonder they haven't put Dixon on anyway ball sent down the right hand side and once again for uh H the chase doesn't work out who do you think is going to stay in this starting 11 for Everton I would say if he doesn't they've got a problem he's got to stay in the side he'll stay on the side and I'll tell you who else I think will stay on the side O'Brien yeah I agree with that and and and that's why tonight had to be positive for Everton had to have new signings playing well the majority of them they had to score goals and they had to I think keep a clean sheet but you know Don castra like I say still threatening at times but you know they I think Don Donnie have done really really well but Everton just had a little bit too much absolutely and I think donc cter in a great place to attack leag too one of the analysts went up to guant maccan the other day and sat him down talk through the last 30 Games dating back to the the Sutton game which was the Turning Point spark their brilliant run they've won 21 of those if you include the preseason games but they suffered just four defeats including the playoff defeat on pens they've been on a terrific run yeah I mean we were here we were at Donnie when they played in this at this stage last season in the in the cup and Don C were really struggling gra mam was struggling to turn it around and he's a really experienced manager who gets success but and he has good processes but sometimes you don't get enough time to show that and he has done and he's turned this this group around and you know they'll they'll enjoy the trip to good Park they wanted a a result from it but the most important thing he's getting out League to yeah change and Ashley Young will be taken out of his right back position and move further up the park because it's uh an introduction to life at goodison part for Roman Dixon he made his senior de debut on Saturday he's replaced Ilan andji was tough circumstances he certainly didn't disgrace himself got some defending to do here though as the ball breaks towards the left hand side an iron side breaks it to Michael King tries to steer across into the center King gets across him deflects it behind in the way for a corner to Doncaster with 11 minutes to go remember there is still live football on talk sport 2 when we finish here because they're only in the 58th minute at curst Park and Oliver glaser's team have got a second goal against Norwich they leave by two goals to that's over on talk sport 2 which you can access via our app here's the corner taken Far Side by Joe spara in towards the far post head it down by Olu comes back to him again on the edge of the penalty area and it's whack gos by Luke molu just really hitting Hope from the edge of the D and it went over the top of the crossbar tell you what big chance for hu there he got a quite a clean header on it but just at the last second it was blocked but it looked like he was just going to be able to head that into the back of the net but Everton defended it and that's just just a warning to Everton we're coming up to 80 minutes and I don't know how much time will be added but they just need to be thorough you know donc cter have come here and they've done well in various bits but I think for the home team the Premier League team they needed to show that their season has started and that includes I think keeping a clean sheet goal at Grimsby Dave Row Grimsby won Sheffield Wednesday four certainly game over now Callum Pon with his second goal of this second half a goal lad in second half of Sheffield Wednesday Bannon combining with KATU send a cross in and Patterson with a powering header six yds out Grimsby one Sheffield Wednesday four ball out to the right side for everon who charged forward with Dixon Dixon doesn't reach it this time and across comes mcgar and clears in the left for back position for donc cter Rovers big shock of the night already has seen Stoke go through at the expense of last year's semi-finalist middles 5- n 715 kickoff that was tonight St with the header into the air irham wins it manages to clear comes back to iram's path he keeps working so hard to Rob McGrath he works and out to the right side Dixon backs him up forward to Ashley Young Ashley Young right angle of penalty decent cross into the near post Olo Stoops to head the ball away iab's want it back adris G encourage to shoot he sends it down the right side instead young into the center will come back here for Harrison It's Over the Bar just leaning back as he tried to connect with that and he just lost his footing a little bit I think two of them McNeil was going towards it as well wanted to strike it left footed but Harrison was favorite he did didn't quite catch it right Luc yeah they actually one or two touch play around the Box Everton they're just starting to play a little bit Freer but Harrison should have done better uh worth pointing out by the way that in that Stoke game LS kumas who is on loan from Liverpool at Stoke City this season scored one of the goals for Stoke City tonight he played really well in the West Brom game at the weekend if any of you saw that and he's on the score sheet again tonight as well and uh Stoke City are through and the draw by the way for the third round of the competition will take place tomorrow night after after the game between nning and Forest and Newcastle has finished and we'll be on talk sport 2 with that game tomorrow it kicks off at 8:00 West Ham Bournemouth is live on talk sport here is molu right side trying to progress forward goes back to halfway stere infield spara doesn't get hold of it comes out on this near side now Mickey Gray used to love a really late night and he was saying earlier that he was worried that he was going to have one tonight such is the the way of things when you're getting a little bit older Mickey don't worry it doesn't look like you're going to have one now I don't mind late nighttime yeah what a turnaround and it's league on side Blackpool who've taken the lead they lead 2-1 in Ewood Park the goal come from Hayden Coulson it was John Booky in Midfield tried to play the ball back to his goalkeeper rley pier and there there was Coulson just to win the ball off him he got into the 18 yard area and slaughtered it in with his left foot what a turnaround Blackburn one black pool two McNeil feeds the ball into mikeno across the face it go for Betto smashes it home edge of the sixy Box combines with nickolenko and he could have missed right footed Lola got a hand to it but it was too too powerful to keep it out and everon victory is complete 3-0 I tell you what I'm really pleased for BTO because he works so hard that it just doesn't seem that confident in front of gal more so that as soon as the ball came into the middle when normally you would see a number nine just hit it first time he took a touch but he managed to get his second touch and splash into the back of the net good work by mikeno but good for Betto that he manages to get his goal it's so important that these number nine score goals three for Everton one for better one for inji one for mcneel and when you look at Everton's goal threats that's probably where they're going to come from over the course of this season was good work again mcil involved feeding the ball down the left channel into moleno went centrally to Betto he sort of tried to control it didn't he with his just making sure Sam he's making sure cuz he's not entirely confident cuz he's missed a few and he's not quite score but I tell you what Dwight mcneel being moved into the center makes a difference because he's receiving when you play in that 10 position you've got to arrive in the space rather than standard it and that's what he does he arrives in the space and then he's he's just got a bit of gamecraft to pick out individuals and he's done it again that will certainly please uh Everton's manager Shawn Das and it does just lift the place a little bit gives a bit more confidence to those players out on the pitch they were certainly lacking that in the first half and they' got a little bit more of it now they're going to bring on another young player who came off the bench at the weekend Harrison Armstrong the 17-year-old who made his senior debut at Tottenham B he's off the bench again to uh come on for the final few minutes of this game and it was spoke about in that game in the press conference after the game on Saturday and Shawn D was saying I just wanted to have him around the place and experience what it was like and travel with the team and be a part of the first team action The Man He's replacing is certainly put a shift in tonight played very well timam it was his shot deflected in off of FL McNeil which changed the nature of the game yeah I think he's been Everton's best player I think he struggled at the weekend but I think he's responded tonight and he he's just got that sort of physicality so he can get around the pitch and he can close down but when he wins possession and when he's in possession he passes the ball very well and he he gets himself right on the edge of the area so it's a great performance from him good mfi player he'll be an asset to Everton and you know maybe well end up being a bit of a snip at £9 million absolutely V fans know certainly know all about him and just just sort of pushed out of the squad and just not quite there at that stage for for Villa but I certainly see him being quality for Everton Everton three donc cter Rovers nil and after a really good first half from donc cter Rovers the quality eventually has told as you would expect it to do with Everton who have had their issues their injury problems would have robbed them of key figures and they've had to almost test out the witness of James Garner and Sheamus Coleman tonight they've done that they've got an hour into their legs which will be good ahead of the weekend they welcome Bournemouth here Palace at the end of September in between trips to Villa and Leicester they need to get a few points from that run after what has been a difficult start in the Premier League but they have goals here tonight which will give them a boost there certainly been goals at the AMX Stadium here's Alex crook it has indeed Brighton 3 crawly Neil Fabian herzer's 100% start to life in English football will continue here the latest go came from a corner on the right hand side and there was the captain for the night Adam Webster to nod home from six yards Brighton three Crawley nil ball over on the far side where it's collected by Ashley Young and then it's fed by Adisa Garay into mikeno and then back to Harrison Harrison trying to steer it centrally I tell you what the s sorry to interrupt a word on on donc I think the first half I think they were really well organized and it's just probably this year sort of physicality the way that Everton move the ball better in the second half that's just overpowered Donnie but they certainly got some good young players yeah they certainly have and he's done well with the squad he was telling me actually that he he sometimes you know it's going to be difficult for him to uh make a selection because he's got enough good players now that he has to make a call especially on a like tonight where you've got nine substitutes you can name nine on on the bench he's going to feel that bench every single week without a shadow of a doubt it's less in the efl obviously but he's going to have to leave players behind because there's such competitions for places yeah I mean he's built a a really really good squad donc this you could see in in every position it this sort of spark I mean yeah the Premier League team is a little bit too much but they certainly showing a lot of confidence and a team that looks like they used to winning one by Armstrong in Midfield trying to feed mcneel and it works its way out towards the near side Donas trying to power their way through o Bri just holds off Bailey gives us an opportunity to go back to the AMX was another goal for Alex crook well they won 5- nil when these two last met competi competitively back in 1992 it's now Brighton four Crawley nil and it's the substitute Marco Mani who won the ball on the edge of the penalty area and he's sidef footed home right footed bright four crawly nil is that Brighton Hospitality repeating on you there K com probably best fell here is stering from the free kick bending the ball to the far post head a loop towards goal by uh I think it was Bailey who came in at the far post and it went over the top of the cross bar only just and goes out for a goal kick away to our right hand side I tell you what the doger fans have enjoyed themselves on the far side of the stadium they certainly enjoyed the first half where they thought their team had done really really well but now they know they've lost the game that just enjoying and just baiting the Everton fans at that end a bit I think they they think they're probably going to be in for a good season and wish them all the best uh Barnsley about to beat sheffeld United unless there's a late goal at oakwell Barrow Darby could be going to penalties Blackburn could be going out to Blackport at this moment in time Brighton knocking out Crawley uh here Everton going through mcneel trying to shoot from distance is way over the top of the crossbar commentary about to beat Oxford Fleetwood have come from behind they're going to knock out rotheram sheff Wednesday have come from behind as well they're going to win against Grimsby Preston thrashed har away from home Leicester have beaten trir well mwall are going to go out to the bottom side or second from bottom side in League one Leon noran who lead by Golden Hill going to the last minute at the Den Queens partk Rangers luden is going to penalties at this moment in time trosy being beaten by Bolton by two goals to nil war from two n down to beat 10 man HFI by three goals to two Watford 2 up against Wayne Rooney's Plymouth and Crystal Palace 3-0 up now against Norwich City at sellur Park another goal for Oliver glasner team kamada Mata and mateta again on the scoret at sellur Park over on talk sport 2 if you want to listen to the conclusion of that game just download a app flick between the two stations salsburg going through in the uh playoffs for the Champions League young boys look like they're joining them in Sparta Prague to we'll round it all up with Adrien darham after the conclusion of the game here we're into stoppage time at goodison Park and there are 3 minutes added and only two left to play McNeil's given the ball away cheaply and it's been picked up by Billy sharp who charges towards goal brushes past Kean sends it wide to Ironside Ironside senses the ball doesn't reach the target of Billy sharp is kicked Away by jakeob Brien whose positioning was very good and it's cleared Away by Everton they may well keep a clean sheet yeah I mean the CH to the few and far between for for donc and not really had the quality to finish them I think Everton as usual certainly mostly the end of last season defend quite well haven't started off that way this season but I think they've been quite comfortable O'Brien is certainly impressed his left Center back molu tussling with mikeno Harrison Wings it back moves down the left touch line goal at Grimsby for Dave Row he's seen a few tonight Dave yeah Grimsley won Sheffield Wednesday five all five for Wednesday in the second half what a turnaround Paul Valentin has been superb since he came on low combining with banam spread it out towards the right hand side and a low finish by Valentin in the back of the net Grimsby W Sheffield Wednesday five and a confidence boosting night for Steve Cooper Jeff Peters yeah ler four TR M nil Harry Winks 20 25 yds out right footed low hit it really well keeper diving to his right couldn't get there ler four TR M nil been a busy old night in the caraval cup we'll do it all again tomorrow two commentaries Bournemouth West Ham talk sport ning Forest against Newcastle live on talk sport 2 we're into the final few seconds of this game here how would you sum it up Lucy W yeah I I think that it was a it was a tough first half for Everton they didn't really get going they didn't look particularly confident donc cast everything was in front of of them and then second half I would suspect this goodon park crowd have actually enjoyed the second half it's probably the only half they've enjoyed this season so far so good result they scored goals uh and and the and the new signings have show what they're all about as well yeah certainly didn't have it all their own way especially in that first half but they have got the job done they've come to the party in the second half sha Das probably needs a little bit of credit for that tactical tweak where he moved M into the center it just released enji a little bit to sort of give him a little bit more freedom cuz he he he he s moved wide into space anyway and he ended up just in in other people's space actually starting him out wide it just meant that he could come from out to in and it worked he scored his goal from it and he created from it well Everton May sit right bottom of the Premier League table but could this be the spark that ignites their season they get their first win of the campaign thanks to goals from mcneel and giant Betto their first goals of this campaign and it means that for the second successive season Everton who had a little bit of trouble with donter not only last season but in the first half per tonight have overcome the team from League 2 and they qualify for the third round of the carabal cup it's finished Everton 3 Don cast nil and Lucy Ward it's just what Everton needed positivity needed goals as well they've got that they need to transfer that to the Premier League against admittedly tougher opposition yeah absolutely but you can only beat what's in front of you and he actually kick started the season last season when they beat do cter away in the carabal cup and dog weren't easy in the first half they made it difficult you know they they they were under no pressure whatsoever Donnie coming here but I think Everton I think Dwight McNeil moving into the middle just releasing J to sort of float in the right areas and I think that he he looks a player Jake O'Brien looks a player so lots and lots of positives which the Everton fans wanted to see tonight had to be positive for them half time it POS so positive fulltime was positive what about donc cter a word on them oh yeah I you know what I I thought that did really well I think they've got some good young players you know the wide players Gibson and molu in the first half caused problems I think defensively they look good and then they've got Billy sharp to bring on absolute no disgrace whatsoever I think they just were a little bit overpowered by a Premier League team in the end uh Lucy for the time being thanks very much Crawley already four down at Brighton the down to 10 men jack rolls has been
