MLB Power Rankings 7/8: Phillies Or Orioles At 1? Yankees & Mariners Falling Backwards

who's number one Phillies have held on to that spot over the last couple of weeks but the Baltimore Orioles are charging and maybe they should grab it after Philly kind of stumbled against the Braves games we had the allstar selections if you have any gripes with that hey look we have to have representatives from some teams and that means other guys get pushed out but don't you worry we got injuries coming we got rests that is needed and players withdrawing coming your guy might still get there Mets fans Lindor might still get there soon as somebody pulls out or somebody's got a tight quad or a strained lat or something we don't want injuries we're not rooting for injuries but if you want your guy in there that may be the ticket at this point so here we go we are going to place our teams and do our power rankings and we're going to go 30 through 25 right out of the gate let's Place some white socks going nowhere hanging at that number 30 spot after a poor week of baseball we've got the Marlins next at 31 and 58 after their settings Noe that's not right they are 31 and 50 why is that not updated well that'll be fun we'll have to just kind of go with that 32 and 58 after taking the series from the white sock we got the Marlins we got the Rockies we got the angels and Marlin flipping spots here we had Oakland at 27 they move up one the Ang slide back after a poor week the Angels won one game this week congrats uh let's move to the number 25 team and that is my sad so sad Toronto Blue Jay season took two out of three from Seattle yes look let's let's be honest here uh this is not a this is not a go big season for the Toronto Blue Jays I I I want my team to win games but you know what at this point I I also kind of want them to lose games now because if this team can craw back to 500 by the trade deadline I I don't know maybe maybe I'll feel differently but but at this moment I don't know man I just want them to sell uh the Toronto Blue Jays are in a bad spot they are 41 and 49 after a three and four week again finish strong against Seattle but dropped three out of four to the Houston Astros to start the week it's not going well for the blue blue jays they in at 25 the next group 24 through 19 let's get them on the board here there is no reason to delay and stay back here for long number 24 the Chicago Cubs they're going to hold at 24 three and three week I don't know what do we have to say about the Chicago Cubs it's certainly been a disappointment this team should be in a spot where they're competing for the division and at this point it looks like they're going to be sellers we got the Cubs in at 24 the Reds swept the Yankees and then were swept by the Tigers okay that makes sense that's baseball the Cincinnati Reds stay at the number 23 spot again desite despite sweeping the Yankees it was all wiped out with being uh swept by the Detroit Tigers the gats will go from 21 to 22 the Tigers move up a spot from 22 to 21 so they flip-flop the Pittsburgh Pirates drop from 18 to 20 and the Texas Rangers go from 20 to9 Pittsburgh I I wanted to keep some Pittsburgh Mojo going because they had been sort of just hanging around we had not had a losing week from the Pittsburgh Pirates in a in over a month they had at least been three and three every week over the last three weeks prior to last week and last week they dropped two out of three to St Louis they dropped two out of three to the New York Mets so the Pittsburgh Pirates fall back to 42 and 47 it was sort of fun to think about maybe Pittsburgh can hang around and they could do a soft buy at the deadline but let's just call it what it is the Pittsburgh Pirates need to sell deadline a ress Chapman needs to be traded any of those one-year guys players that were probably brought in with the thought that we will trade them at the deadline hold with that plan move those players next year will be a a I mean this has been fun anytime Paul SK takes the mound it's fun it'll be really fun next year because these you skin and Jones will be a year progress you'll have Keller locked in so you'll have your rotation set you maybe make a a little splash flash little splash uh at in the off seon for to to bolster that rotation go get a big bat and Pittsburgh can be a threat next year this year sell at the deadline 42 and 47 for Pittsburgh and the Texas Rangers this is may be another team that needs to sell at the deadline this is the Texas Rangers week this is the week for the Texas Rangers to get it together we will know if these Rangers are buyers or sellers at the deadline by the end of the week because they're 42 and 48 they sort of dug themsel back out of the hole by sweeping the Tampa Rays but I don't know man look they swept Kansas City two weeks ago three weeks ago and then got swept by Milwaukee and got their ass kicked by Baltimore and got it handed to him by the Padres so I I I don't I don't trust that the Rangers are have any momentum here I don't trust it they could go and get their their their their butt kick this week they do move up a spot there are some good things happening this team this week I mean what may be happening and maybe this is more about a Tampa thing but look from a hitting perspective the bats are showed up this week leot tares Jonah Heim Wyatt lford Wyatt lford finally Cory Seager uh Nathaniel low they were all hitting the team was hitting this week and they were pitching it all sort of came together but again they' beat up on the race let's see what they can do moving forward got a couple good starts from naldi hey look good again so did Lorenzen they're all trade bait at this point one more week if the Rangers go out there and put together a two and four if two and four week or or something to that degree I I think they got to I think they got to be sellers at the deadline I I I think you have to accept it so we have the Rangers in at 19 let's update the board here and get us to our spot cuz we're going to need to move some things around here uh actually no no that's wrong 18 17 and 16 are next I'm going to plop all three of them up here we're going to go Giants 18 Rays 17 and Mets 16 that Giants team will move up one spot 44 and 47 now after a 3 and three week it looked good good start taking two out of three from Atlanta but then there was a stumble against Cleveland but we won't ding the Giants for that we move them up one spot the Rays find themselves falling back two spots because the week did start out strong took two out of three from Kansas City in Kansas City but then went and got swept by the Texas Rangers the rays are now 44 and 46 falling back two spots and then we have the New York Mets the New York Mets are 44 and 44 all of that momentum seems to be paused right now they dropped the series against Houston the weekend before they split with Washington after taking the first two from Washington and then against Pittsburgh they do end up winning that series getting two out of three but that was I mean they snatched Victory from the jaws of defeat on Sunday a roll his chap look if bednar's in there I think that game is done it was Chapman in there and therefore the Mets were able to get some walks get some hits and get the comeback and get the series Victory but the Mets just feel to me like they're in a sort of sort of paus the worst thing similar to my blue jays being 500 at the deadline is not what you want there are Die Hard Mets fans that want this team to to buy at the trade deadline and they want him to win games I'm thinking about the future with the New York Mets I'm thinking about 2025 I'm thinking about 2026 because 2024 is not your year the Mets are a go big or go home team if you ever hear me talking about well it'd be fun if the Pirates buy it'll be fun if the gats buy because yes for them it is just it is a win if you make the postseason for the New York Mets let go big or go home in my opinion and maybe that's just me having a flawed opinion just get in there baby you never know what's going to happen well I feel pretty confident that I do know what's going to happen this time the New York Mets do not have a roster do not have a team that can go head-to-head with the Dodgers the Braves or the Phillies it it's not going to happen and and if you're a wild card team you're probably going to be matched up with the Brewers and I don't like that matchup either in Milwaukee so trade your pieces trade the guys that are walking out the door bring some prospects in be a really good team in 2025 that's what I would like to see the Mets do they are hanging around 500 at 44 and 44 they are right where I don't want my blue jays team to be I know what my Jay's team is I want to have a chance to win the World Series next year as a Toronto Blue Jays fan and the way to do that is to trade pieces right now New York Mets same thing let's move on and now we're going to move the board around because we are going to start placing teams individually we are halfway to the like goal everybody keep smashing that like we are going to get into individual team placement now and we're going to go to the number 15 spot let me scroll down and I would honestly say I feel like this team should move up a little bit more but this gets back to what I talk about in terms of ground that you're covering uh space that you have erased in between yourself and the team ahead of you because this team probably again it's Justified to say that this team should be maybe a spot or two higher after what they did this week because they were 17th last week they're only going to move up two spots they're going to move up to the number 15 spot this week that's the Arizona Diamondbacks Diamondbacks took two out of three from the Dodgers they took two out of three from the San Diego Padres they are 45 and 45 and right back back in there with a shot this Diamondbacks team is different because they are built this team has been more about underperformance they have been more about injuries than they have that they just don't belong 45 and 45 maybe showing some life here they also took two out of three from Oakland the weekend before so we're seeing some things here from Arizona that looks like life you get Zack Gallum back he's made two starts now since he returned from the I but you send Jordan Montgomery to the injured list so I mean look in the end gall's a better pitcher so we're hoping for some better things to come here he also got Gabby Moreno off the iil this week and he immediately became a hit machine 10 for 22 and Jack Peterson chipped in three home runs as well on top of all that the headliner from the week's Christian Walker Chris Walker's killing it 11 for 27 four home runs clutch home runs Big Time stuff he's now got 22 home 22 home runs of the year and 853 Ops and this is a walk year Christian Walker moves on after this year unless Arizona can lock him up but he is out here earning himself a major payday in a few months this Diamondbacks team was great scored the most runs in baseball over the last week with 50 hit the most home runs with 15 had the second highest team batting average all clicking offensively for Arizona so we're looking to see if they're back and they have the juice they have the pieces so this is a team that should maybe try to add a bat at the deadline do something don't stay complacent this Diamondbacks team is better than what their record is this is what we have to try to figure out right now people are you better than what your this is a key a key Time of the Season are you better than what your record says you are or are you ex are you what your record says you are are you over performing are you underperforming the Diamondbacks are better than what their record is the Mets are not better than what their record is the Blue Jays are right around what their record is these are teams that have to make these very crucial decisions they're going to have to consider that element as well let's go to let's put Arizona on the board they are in at number 15 in at number 14 next and we are 41 likes away from the goal everybody 41 away from unlocking that pole number 14 we're going to hold this team is going to hold you can see it faint on the screen it is going to stay right at the number 14 spot the Houston Astros week started out strong took three out of four from the Toronto Blue Jays but then over the week dropped two out of three to the Minnesota Twins that's tough that's that's one you got to get Minnesota Twins you're talking about some good competition here when we think about what the Houston Astros have been doing over the last couple of weeks as they are sort of climbing out of that hole that they dug they've been able to beat up on some teams that are bad or underperforming they took the series against the Blue Jays they took the series against the Mets and the Rockies and the white socks and the Tigers and the angels okay they took all those match UPS the biggest one was the Orioles sweep that was the sort of putting the stamp on wear back for the Houston Astros but outside of that they have been beating teams that were kind of underperformers or just not good this Twin series was a chance similar to that orial series to be like no look we're back guys take you don't have to sweep Minnesota but get two of those games in the end it is a 4 and three week it is a week where they are moving in the right direction as far as their record goes as far as the Wild Card the AL West again that that dig out the big dig that they're going through right now when it comes to scoring runs they did it well last week 41 of them that was third most in baseball literally everyone except Jake Meyers is hitting right now yordon Alvarez hit three bombs we still don't have Kyle Tucker right now so they're doing some really good things without Kyle Tucker you got to feel excited when he's back Astros fans how the team's going to be performing but they needed to hit because the pitching was not that great this week they gave up a lot of runs they gave up a lot of runs now they played seven games they played one more game than everybody else so 36 runs second most maybe that's not fair because they played seven most teams played six well in terms of erra the team erra was also poor 540 team erra which was 25th in baseball so the bats got the job done pitching let you down a little bit but the Astros still with a four and three week are moving in the right direction so we have the Astros at 14 we move on to number 13 and gosh we're holding another team I'd like to give this team an opportunity to move back into that conversation for the top 10 but it just is not going to happen the San Diego Padres are going to stay at the number 133 spot for the fourth straight week three and three this week they took two out of three from Texas they dropped two out of three to the Arizona Diamondbacks can we just give the recognition and the credit I mean we're doing it we're sending them to the allstar game but man the jerks and profar season if if jerks and profar is not on the Padres this is this is this is a sentence I'm about to utter if jerks and profar is not on the Padres where are the Padres right now seven for 21 this week three more home runs his Ops is over 900 he's got 14 home runs 59 runs driven in 59 that is sixth most in the National League where would this team be without jerks and profar I think we can take a couple of wins off the board which might put them below 500 49 and 45 uh Dylan CE sort of matching the Padres in what they do uh Jackel and Hyde situation for the Padres this year jackn Hyde weak from Dylan CE roughed up by Texas look good against Arizona he's got a 421 ER on the season Musgrove is is is hurt uh darish has not been there for a while and he's dealing with some family things this is when you need Dylan CE every single damn time to go out there and shove and be an Ace and give you six and give you a chance to win and he just can't do it he needs to do it every time right now lock it in Dylan CE isn't that guy I've been trying to tell you guys I've been during the whole trade conversation in the offseason he's not a number one ace he's a really good three which is still good that's nothing to scoff at but he had been elevated on a pedestal that was not fair let's just from this moment forward Dylan CE is a really good three that's all we're going to say so for the San Diego Padres team to be relying on him this Padres team needs to add some pitching at the deadline uh altogether it ended up being a three and three week for the Padres and they will hold at number 13 and we will get our pull together for the 12 11 and 10 spot and the teams that you're going to be voting on are the St Louis Cardinals the Seattle Mariners don't do it wrong you got I I trust you guys you'll do the right thing here and the Kansas City Royals this an interesting part this is an interesting stretch isn't it you the the Padres really like you got Seattle you got KC they're both scuffling right now but a three and three week we just kind of going to hold you there uh Houston Astros we're just going to kind of hold you there after that weekend against the twins uh let's put it together here again uh let's put this together we are only 14 likes away you guys keep hitting that like button we get over the 100 like goal and you guys will have an impact inside the top 10 to decide the location the Fate for two teams so let me get the poll going starting the [Music] poll three teams which team gets the 10 spot that's between the Cardinals Mariners Royals starting the poll let's talk about him the St Louis Cardinals should win this 47 and 42 a 4-2 week against the Pirates and the gats two of those middle tier teams that uh they've they've they've been fun to watch they've got some exciting pieces some exciting components James Wood up with the gats Paul SK with the Pirates so some good things are happening the the the St Louis Cardinals came through took two from both of them the bats carried the team which needed to happen because the pitching wasn't great when arado Gorman burlson conteras Donovan all hitting over the last week we've got the Seattle Mariners last week the mar the Seattle Mariners were 11 a two and4 week against the Orioles and the Blue Jays 18 runs over the last week was the second fewest in baseball 73 strikeouts was the second most in baseball what have I been saying about this Seattle Team all year it is just ringing true and it has been this way for many weeks now they have not won a series since that Texas series a month ago Garver and Raleigh were the only two bats up and down the lineup with more than four hits over the last week and they each had five which isn't that impressive either so it was a bad week for the Seattle Mariners who are sitting here 49 and 43 all also at 49 and 43 are the Kansas City Royals after a 2 and 4 we dropping two out of three to Tampa dropping two out of three to the Colorado Rockies last week we had KC at 10 the bullpen let him down I mean this was a this was a bad Bullpen week good starts from singer and Lugo and Ragin and Waka not Marsh but the other four all gave you a chance to win all gave you solid outings but the bullpen gave up a ton of runs Bobby wit Jr had himself a strong week 12 for 24 three home runs he's now got a 936 Ops on the season 15 homers 22 stolen bases if he's going to grab that mvp that's got to we look Bobby 4040 isn't going to be enough we got to get that 4050 number so I'm I'm going to need I'm going to need Bobby Wood Jr to get those video game numbers up he'll be in the conversation he will be in the conversation got to juice these numbers if I'm going to win money on my on my Al MVP bet so those are the three teams that we are voting on here for our top 10 spot Cardinals are leading the charge here and I with 53% of the vote I don't see that changing so let's go Cardinals in at 10 then it's the Royals at 30 5% the Royals will drop from 10 to 11 the Mariners will drop from 11 to 12 and that feels right got to watch the Mariners here because if this continues all you need is a strong week from the Padres a strong week from the Astros and they can eclipse the Seattle Mariners and what's going on there Mariners got to get get it together they're in a tough spot right now so we go Mariners 12 Royals 11 and Cardinals 10 we are seven likes away from the like goal everybody again we have let me see what is next what do I have teed up next I have this team this team oo oo now that's interesting guys six more likes I want to let you vote on the next three I want to let you vote on 987 but I got to get four more likes we got to get over a 100 four to go and we're over and we are we're going to do the poll three to go I want to give you guys the I want to let you vote on the next three because it's it's good it's it's it's it's a tough call I have my 98 and seven but I want to give you the chance to place it as it is and there's a gap 987 then there's a gap and then we get to six so we're really not talking about moving anybody much higher but this is this is interesting this is tough uh we are there so you guys are going to get the poll so the three teams that we're voting on right now are the Boston Red Sox the Minnesota Twins and the Atlanta Braves are the three teams that we're voting voting on here I'm going to set the poll up and then we'll talk about these three teams which team gets the better rank between the Red Sox Braves and twins we're going to start the poll last week we had the twins at nine the Braves at eight and the Red Sox at seven should that hold or should we move some things around here of the three teams twins have the most wins twins 51 and 39 took two out of three from Detroit took two out of three from Houston scored the second most runs in baseball last week had the highest team batting average last week and had Jose Miranda literally impossible to get out 12 straight hits in a row 14 for 20 all together on the week he's now hitting 331 with a 906 Ops and oh by the way they called Brooks Lee up and Brooks Lee has done nothing but hits since getting called up he's 9 for 19 with a home run six RBI that's how we would like all of our prospects to get called up right Brooks Le's been crushing it buckton with a good week Kepler with a good week Minnesota with a solid week they should move up should right the Braves 49 and 39 a three and three week dropped two out of three to San Francisco that's not a good look but they took two out of three from the Philadelphia Phillies that's pretty good that may be Signs of Life pitching was really good this week for Atlanta Lopez s schwellenbach for the most part the bullpen all good effort Max freed didn't have a good start but it's going to happen got good stuff from the pitching and when it comes to the bats Aussie's hitting finally Duval with a good week Austin Riley is hitting Austin Riley's up to 11 home runs now speaking of digging out of holes Austin Riley's digging out of the hole we're seeing better stuff out of him lately so we have the Braves at 49 and 39 are they going to stay at8 are they going to move move up are we buying that they're back are they going to hold are they going to slide back and then Boston Boston after a disappointing week the week before got it back together this week a 5 in one week that's pretty good 49 and 40 and now with that situation the Boston Red Sox really are maybe one more quality week they don't have to go crazy but if they put together a three and three or a four two week they are going to be nipping on the heels of the top five you guys way right now the way the Voting is going has the boss of Red Sox winning this the boss the Red Sox are one more of these away from getting I mean they will be right up on the Brewers after this week and next week they could surpass the Milwaukee Brewers they could be again right in there in the conversation for the top five we got to see what Happ happens with some of these other teams but man the boss of Red Sox over the last week it was really everybody except Duran Wong and a Bru everybody else is hitting des and rafhaela both had big weeks rafy Des now this year 971 Ops 21 home runs this is the best rafy de of all time he's been fantastic if he continues along this track we are looking had a career year for rafie Des pitching was good this week as well Crawford pavetta beo Crawford twice were good this week socks are rolling the Red Sox are rolling if only the front office and ownership have believed in this team like the team believed in the team the Boston Red Sox could be even better this year so good things happening for Boston and good things happening in the poll for the Boston Red Sox the socks will hold on to number seven and are again right on the heels of the number six team they have taken any space cuz there was there was significant uh there was significant a significant gap between six and seven that has been eliminated now that's done that's over that's gone it had really been the top six a lot of real estate then the Seven 8 n 10 then some real estate again that's all gone Boston Red Sox have eliminated that and are now nipping on the heels of the number six spot and could be nipping on the heels of the number five spot with another good week so we'll go Boston is seven we have a very tough vote going on the rest of the way and again the way this is going to work the team that gets the fewest votes is the team that is viewed as the team that is least deserving of the better ranking and right now it is narrow but it's the twins the way this is looking it's going to end up being a hold for the week the twins are going to hold at nine the Braves are going to hold at8 but what I can tell you is happening even though you are seeing 98 and 7even all the same pay attention now there's more Happening Here than you just see on the screen screen the Gap the distance has been narrowed making it easier for the twins the Braves or the Red Sox to make the jump up to the number six spot all of them with good stuff this week and they're all moving in a direction that lends them to a jump next week this is a week toe thing so make sure you stay close because 987 is going to be interesting to see on a positive note 11 and 12 is going to be interesting to see on a negative note going the wrong direction so we've got twins Braves and Red Sox the number six team we've been talking about it this is the team that's got a bullseye right now on their back and that's going to be the Milwaukee brewers brewers this week with a three and four split with Colorado they got one of the three from the Dodgers 53 and 38 that nice comfortable Gap that they had from the sixth to seventh spot is gone the Milwaukee Brewers as far as the central goes still looking good Cardinals are creeping up still with a semi comfortable lead there but as far as our power rankings go it's gone the Christian Yelich Resurgence we saw more of it this week 11 for 28 from him three home runs he's now batting 329 with an Ops of nine 40 on the season we're not seeing a ton of power even though we did this past week we got the three home runs on the year it's 11 home runs for Christian yellow so we're not seeing that guy that's gonna Club 30 35 maybe 40 home runs that's not who he is but if he's going to hit like this it works it's been the problem with mil with Milwaukee's bats over the last couple years is Christian Yelich and his production has been absent he's been great this year so we like to see him back we also got good good stuff from William conteras another good week from William conteras Willie Adamas was hitting the ball Bryce terang was getting some hits Jackson Trio is getting hits we have Dallas kyel added to the rotation kyel is giving them some quality Innings I don't think that's going to last long that's the situation they're in Milwaukee needs to add a pitch at the deadline Milwaukee is in its six but it is a it is a hot six hot seat six that make sense with Braves Red Sox and twins all eager to take that from them we are going to see something happen now that has not happened all year all year we have not seen the New York Yankees outside of the top three well yes yes yes yes we started the year we had them at seven but maybe that was a little disrespectful that that really doesn't count since the games have started we have not seen the Yankees outside of the top three and we are about to see the New York Yankees outside of the top three they have been in a little bit little bit little bit is understating it they have been in a tough spot and it really goes back to that Boston series in Boston a few week weeks ago three four weeks ago they lost that series since then they have not won any of the series they have played Baltimore Atlanta the Mets the Blue Jays the Reds and the Red Sox again have not won any of those series they took care of Kansas City before they played Boston back uh again about a month ago but since then it's been disappointment for the New York Yankees dealing with some injuries dealing with some players maybe the scales are leveling a little bit for Carlos rhon and Luis heel was not going to pitch that well for the entire season they get Garrett Cole back and everything goes to hell Garrett go back and I don't know like pull your finger or something and and and say you you got a twisted pinky I don't know because the team was better without you I'm kidding OB 55 and 37 now for the New York Yankees after one win one win this week one one and five they were swept by the Cincinnati Reds it's so bad that they were swept by the Cincinnati Reds a Reds team that then was immediately swept by the Detroit Tigers what the hell is going on in the Bronx hitting's a problem that has become a major issue fifth worst team batting over the last week Ben rice was the star of the week and it was really from one game six hits from him but we know three of the big ones came over the weekend with the three Homer game verdugo's getting some hits but outside of that you're not you're not getting a whole lot from Aaron judge right now you're not getting a whole lot from Juan sto right now you've got some injuries going on vulp is not doing much with the bat and again from a pitching perspective Luis heel took a couple of L's Cole still trying to become the dominant Ace that he can be we didn't see anything great from Cole this week Cortez looked good but rodon didn't strowman didn't it's a mess right now this is when you want it to be a mess this is when you want it to be though they'll clear it up they'll be fine but they are going to be number five in our power rankings number four told you this team was going to move up I told you it was coming they were going to move up in the top five some may say that I still don't have them high enough I think that'll probably work itself out between now and next week but I'm going to give the Cleveland Guardians their highest spot their highest ranking of the Year going from five to four after a week where they took I mean let's let's let's call what it is they took two out of three from the white socks okay congratulations that should have been a sweep but okay you took the series they took two out of three from the San Francisco Giants the Guardians at at this point in the power rankings as Cutthroat as it is in the top five they went 4- two against the number 30 team and the number 18 team and they're still moving up that's why they're only moving up one spot they're not moving up two spots but this was a week where the argument for Cleveland to add a starting pitcher at the deadline really rang true and rang loudly we we're not seeing gav Gavin Williams is not himself yet how long is that going to take Ben Lively got the win but it wasn't great Tanner Bobby was not good Bob's been up and down this year Logan Allen Carlos Carrasco you need another one they need another one I don't know to what degree they go we've heard uh we we've heard them talk about how they are concerned about their not being enough good starting pitching available at the deadline therefore the demand will be high and the asking price will be high so will Cleveland be willing to part with significant prospects to grab a starting pitcher I don't know I don't know if that starting pitcher is out there I don't see them swinging a trade with the white sock so G crochet and Eric fety I'm going to say no on that so really what we need to have happen is the Guardians kind of need the Blue Jays the Mets the Rangers to open up for business that's what needs to happen Cleveland you need that to go down you need those teams that are still in that well maybe we should buy maybe we're better you need those teams to sell because Cleveland needs to go grab srino or Cleveland needs to go get I'm not going to spend the money on a guy like Basset but they could go get native Aldi they could go get Max Sherer they could go get Luis srino that is what the Guardians need to do so they need some of those teams to open up and officially become sellers but Cleveland this was a week that it was evident again this was against Chicago this was against San Francisco these are not World beaters with the bats they give up a lot of runs so they need to add some pitching but Cleveland I'm not the Fanfare isn't really there in my voice and I apologize for that but this team has earned this number four spot not necessarily for what they did last week but for what they've been doing all year for what they've been doing all year 56 and 32 Cleveland is in a really good position right now add that picture at the deadline number three and we are right around the corner from our vote for the number one spot it is going to come down to the Orioles and the Phillies the number three team will be the LA Dodgers the Dodgers are now 55 and 36 they had been number four for 1 two three four five six straight weeks the Dodgers were number four they will finally move up to the that's how Cutthroat it's been it's been hard to move up in the top five Dodgers move up up to the number three spot they have not been there in a month and a half three and three week they dropped two out of three to Arizona but they bounced back and took two out of three from Milwaukee we like that that is enough to get them moving up pitching could have been better this week and this similar to the Cleveland story is the week that Rings true the Dodgers need another starting pitcher uh Walker beer is too much of a question mark he's not even there right now anyway glass now will be fine I know he had a bad start Landon Knack I don't think the last thing the Dodgers want to do is enter the postseason having to lean on young unproven untested pitching they want to head into the postseason with glass now and Miller and Kershaw and buer cranking they don't want to go into the postseason with glass now Knack Paxton and stone those stones been really good I'm not taking anything away from Stone and I know Miller is still working his way back back I think they want a little bit more certainty because this is a World Series or bust year there's no more messing around Dave Roberts is fired if this team does not win the World Series the Dodgers need to go grab some more starting pitching you got a clunker from neack you got a clunker from Stone Justin roleski was called up that didn't go particularly well they could do it with glass now and Miller and Paxton and stone but if they don't do it that'll be what they point to and we'll see what happens with Yamamoto you need Yamamoto back so many injuries this year for the Dodgers I got to think that they will be active cuz can't leave anything to chance they got to win the World Series this year they have to right uh tasa Hernandez was good he was hitting over the last week so was Freddy Freeman so was showy Otani so was Will Smith pitching that's got to be the focus Dodgers are in at number three here we go two and one and we are only at the 44 minute Mark that's insane uh who's number one that is the question who's number one between the Orioles and the Phillies before I place it though before I start the poll I want to talk about them Orioles 57 and 33 on the season a 4 and two week they took two out of three from Seattle they took two out of three from Oakland they're out west and they're handling their business gunar Henderson Anthony santand Jordan Westberg Austin Hayes all hitting all looking good this week from a pitching perspective Grayson Rodriguez looking good I made a comment yesterday about how I won another bullog in that rotation for the playoffs and Grayson Rodriguez is probably that guy but I want the guy I want somebody that has more postseason that's why I really like more postseason tested that's why I really like theide of Sherer to the Orioles but you have Rodriguez you have Burns both look good this week so did Dean Kramer Suarez is an up and down guy you got a good one from him Kade poic no more just no more please like it's it's one of those things where I just cover my eyes when Kade Povich takes the mound stop sending him out there to to get roughed up he needs to work on some things Kade poic got roughed up but we saw some good pitching we saw some good hitting the Orioles did their thing this week 4 and2 they're now 57 and 33 the Philadelphia Phillies are 58 and 32 so it's a one game difference in Philly's favor but Philly four and three took two out of three from the Tigers no that's not right that's two weeks ago they went four- two did I say four- two I'm getting on track trust me guys I'm I'm there swept the Chicago Cubs good we like that but stumbled against the Braves dropping two out of three in Atlanta it is what it is but you'd like for them to grab that and when we are talking about Power Rankings that could be enough when it's that tight between one and two to knock you out of the number one spot Turner looked good this week Turner looked great this week good as an understatement Turner looked great this week Nick casianos was hitting the ball pitching sort of let him down um Suarez was not great Sanchez was not good wheeler was fine Nola was fine but you didn't tear through the rotation uh the rot the rotation didn't tear through the opponents so Philly found themselves again took care of business against the Cubs but struggled against the Braves is it
