UEFA Champions League quarter-finals draw LIVE! Man City

good morning and welcome to a very special UEFA Champions League draw show today is the day we find out our opponents in the quarterfinals of the competition my name is FG and I am joined by two men two absolute Legends with one European goal between them it's Na manua and Michael Brown welcome to the show scored the goal then don't remember a long time ago I think you might have remembered from the show in Copenhagen that it was definitely n Manu he mentioned it enough so we won't talk about that how you feel see you talking about it again this is a personal attack's not happy either is he you know what I'm feeling good I feel like we did we do the show last year as well yeah we did yeah and I remember the air kind of leaving the room when it was like Bayern Munich first game and then possibly Real Madrid in the semi-finals and I thought okay well that's a tough draw but now they're Champions like you feel more comfortable don't it was tough when it was all coming in as well who City going to draw but you know did you enjoy the show oh I loved it absolutely were you not on it I think I was on the wall actually last time um yeah I've just had confirmation in my ear I was I remember feeling really really bad about it and I remember Big Steve as well will'll be joining us a little bit later on he was the only one who I thought we might have kept it the same you know because it was a good sort of good end no I wasn't saying that I just thought you know it would have been a really you know like you're right though Big Steve did nail it he seemed wild at the time said no I'm going to do it if they win that this will feel good and this that and the other big Steve nailed it mate he did nail it and we're feeling a lot more confident as holders now brownie out we I think so I think we were sat here watching the draw and you wondering who's going to come your way and then the outcome of quarterfinals and semi-finals you did start to think well with City going to go on and win it then fully deserved um over the two legs you feel like um it suits us that we can actually get our game plan there's time to recover in certain games where things go slightly wrong the final is the one isn't it where actually that one game you can struggle things can change all the planning can go out the window with a mistake or a key moment of Brilliance from somebody um but now looking at it because you've done it you're more relaxed but understand now when you see the draw and you see the teams in it some powerhouses of Europe and the world and and you start to feel like it's the business time now of the draw um but I don't really fear anybody I would I'd like to AV avoid a few but not necessarily make to that in a little bit n quick one before we uh go into the last round against Copenhagen we had time to enjoy being the treble winners because it feels like for me we're already straight into the running and everything has gone so so quick um I think that's that's a good question you know I think realistically like there was like three weeks in the Summer where we could discuss it but then before you know it the season had started and then as they go around now the Champions League you keep forgetting to say well these are the reigning champions of Europe same way with the Premier League kind of same way with the FA Cup and it's bizarre because they're still in the same position to potentially win all three at this moment in time but it doesn't feel like that for some reason I see you not had time to enjoy it listen he's been made 65 parties because of it you're Ling life I've absolutely love every moment of it just like it doesn't go away it's going to continue he can still celebrate it for a long time oh yeah we've got a world champions badge on the shirt which I'll obviously never ever been look we're going to head to uh the last round against cop we haven't got your goal for the one against Copenhagen unfortunately which goal is that but um well you can search that if you're watching the show all right let's have a look at the last round at Copenhagen and the goals so first things first this finish n Manu yeah it's uh it's not too bad I think they actually can sort of hold someone off and then send in a finish like that it's an awesome feeling and you know he's been such a good player for City since he's first signed and he's CHS him some big goals as well to be fair to him it was a great finish was it yeah you know I think City now with the set pieces are being excellent we've seen getting better and better finding little angles and now they spend so much time on on the detail on those spaces and and try to create angles but you can see the delight and it's getting better and better it's growing with confidence when you get into these positions so great to see and also as we just seen that at KI goal I know there's thousands of you watching across YouTube so welcome to the show we'll have the draw coming up very very shortly I'm joined by Michael Brown and na Manu so you you spoke about um there there's players that there's teams that you want to avoid name them who do you know who do you not want to play against brownie do you know what there's something um something inside me about Bayern Munich I know they're having um the problems they're not at a level that you would expect but the dangerous players in this competition they used to be in and around it somebody's telling me Harry Kane I don't know so I'd rather avoid them do I feel them like we said no I don't but um they'd be one if there's others we can go right through it that's that's the discussion we're going to have Real Madrid um I really thought last season that was going to be a concern it was the best night we've seen at the yetti had I'm sure of that but um I don't know Arsenal will be the other one I think I think we're all probably on this on the same page of of of who we fear yeah and to be fair it's not necessarily even fear it's just just you can you can see the difficulty that exists within it and say the more negative who's the hardest do you think the hardest I think it depends whether the second leg is at home or away I think there are certain places to go to like say go into we've seen historically City supporters go into say the bnab as a second leg isn't necessarily like a great place to go is it you know um and then you'd be sort of thinking well going to the aliens Arena and so on but then also there's that feeling because Arsenal still have that hunger because they've not done what city have done because they've not won a Champions League so their level of sort of like fight and Desperation to get it done will be like potentially as high as anyone else is left in the knockout knockout rounds so it would be 10 to Arsenal would it yeah I don't does anyone want to watch C versus Arsenal three times in the next two three months it it would be good I'd enjoy the situation but the outcome you'd have to take that that win on board but um I'm sure he'll have a different view point been thinking of his trips he we're joined by Big Steve Big Steve please will you relax everybody in the studio like you did this time last year yeah I'm I'm looking forward to it uh but like brownie said um I'm thinking more of the Sun than who than who we're playing his head needs a bit of T where's the best temperature then where we going thought I kind of like Madrid um I've got a feeling we're going to get Atletico Madrid but um Barcelona would be nice nice city in that but listen with the Champions and um I'm quite relaxed with it I just think bring it on you know what I mean Bring It On we've dreamt of days like this we're at the top and let everybody else come to us what about um what everyone was saying in the studio about playing Arsenal potentially three times over a close period of time naam said they've got the hunger which is completely correct they haven't achieved what we've achieved yet could that be a sticky fix to based on our history against English sides and Knockouts yeah because I think when you play the English sides you used to playing each other don't think there's that level of fear there you know what I mean uh and playing them three times it won't be enjoyable uh and like what nedam said they have got the hunger they're on a different level at the minute because they've never won it um yeah I don't I don't want Arsenal I don't want arsenal we need we need the trips we need the we need to go somewhere nice he just wants to go on holiday he point now imagine you play Arsenal in the Knockouts and then what the final at Wembley as well you could be spending like three of the possible last five games just it was the semi-final it would feel very lots of trips it exact so eight of the eight of the finals have been at Wembley and our manager pep has won one as a player and won one as a manager so I don't think he'll mind returned to Wembley that's his hattick is he he's he's absolutely on a hattick completely so it was it was 1992 he wanted to play I know Big Steve knows that already and he remembers do you remember the final who it was that they beat in the final of the Champions League at Wembley yeah it was I don't like talking about that you know who it was we do indeed know who it was um right okay so let's let's let's have a look at the the format of the draw real quick shall we um of course I'm not going to explain the format of the draw we've uh let someone in the studio explain it so let's head to a very special graphic um led by a very special man there are no seedings and no country protection so clubs can face off position from the same National Association and teams they previously came up against in the group stage the quarterfinals will be drawn first with the team selected first to play the first leg at home for the semi-final draw four balls containing slips of paper marked winners of quarterfinal one to winners of quarterfinal two are placed in a large Central bow and shuffled the first and second balls drawn determined the first semi-final pairing the first bow draw representing the home team for the first leg a third draw will determine the home and way teams for the final oh oh well sorry about that wake up guys we're back hello Steve brownie yeah well you could have put a bit more excitement into it I've absolutely nailed that look did you put your heart and soul into that listen I've been I've practiced that script for such a long time no you got it first time no but I said I practiced it for a long time you know what I mean I thought I think that's if it wasn't Oscar's week like last week then yeah I think it could have been up for it first time were good at they transl leave it let's um let's let's carry on looking at Copenhagen shall we and um the form that we're in in this competition so I mean it was resounding wasn't it Brian let's take a look at a man who goes under the radar sometimes but he's won it all in football recently had a documentary come out um Julian Alvarez as we see his goal made him yeah do you know it's starts with his cross in uh cross in as well with good chance for um for rodri but I must say that gives me all the feels I remember once like having a really bad shot towards the goalkeeper and the goalkeeper throwing it in you know what I mean but yeah like I think that's a really good ball into the box you can see that's a nice set play by city I think AI pinned someone around the back he hit it a little bit harder than you did that's the point that's why the goalkeepers having difficulty lightens it up is it a cross is it one of those where you just go to the far corner and hopefully that's a there's a little touch along the way but like you say do you know for me somebody who sets an example on the pitch who the first day he came in the work ethic the way he went around the way he presses the way he just gets his you know his his head in the game and he was slightly disappointed you know just missing the odd game where it's been so good for him with earing Harland not being available but he just feel like he's ready he wants to come on the pitch set the right tone and he hasn't sulked when you when you're left out and that's the hardest thing to do and I don't know what you know this this is it's a new era now that you have to do that at this football club or any football club right at the top but it's hard to take when you've gone so well to you know to actually then sit back out yeah um but I think look at the trophies he won already it's it's just it's just remarkable yeah it's incredible um let's talk to our movie star shall we then the man who was in the Julian Alvarez documentary Big Steve have you got any words on on zulian yeah I think look what he's achieved in such a short space of time I mean we just watching that documentary the other night and seeing him with them medals around his neck uh I mean how how how The Hunger for football keeps burning after after you're walking around with them round your neck uh it's a credit to him but yeah he like what brownie said it is tough you know when you're playing so well and you have to sit out a bit but he's always come on even at weekend anfield he had to play in a position that's not too familiar to him but I think he put a shift in he did well and um we're lucky to have him he's he's he's uh always ready when called upon and uh he's a fantastic player and of course on Saturday's show you'll have a chance to win a sign shirt from Julian Alvarez as well so everyone watching make sure you tune in to the Match Day Live show um let's talk about the other teams that we play then and potentially we'll go back into it we'll start with Arsenal um they got through the next round by by winning on penalties um they got through to the next round it wasn't the most convincing performance but it's it's big for them to be in the conversation isn't it it's massive it's been a a big week There's a bit of controversy last week I watched their game that just nicked through got three points and then you go into the Champions League which was different because they've had to follow the other clubs pressure is on because everybody's talking about them delivering a premier league title what can they do in the Champions League and you've seen those celebrations and now they're saying it's took so long to get back to that level this is where we want to be that's the the platform that the club expects and it's been some turnaround I think from M arteta I think tactically very very aware for sure I think another window or two they're going to get even better you see still say there's a couple of players that and there certain areas that they could improve on slightly but um you know big week for Arsenal U I think they'll be absolutely delighted the position real on a High um to go top of the the Premier League as well I think that tells you everything where the club at and they're dangerous at the moment it's their first W Champions League quarterfinal since 2010 um will that play in the minds of the players when they when they face the opposition because you look at the European pedigree of of the teams that are left in this I mean they've been to a final in 2006 but they've not massive amounts of experience no they haven't but then essentially it's a different group of players it's not like one group of players that have played year in year out and face loads of failures I think for these guys you can see they're young they're hungry and they're enjoying that journey I think even arteta himself not like he's been in man management for 10 15 years as well I think he's very much enjoying having that group of young players around him he's seeing them get better year in year out he was week in week out as well and there's a good feeling there I think we could say that they're unconvincing against Port out but they still won you know what what's the dangers there though for for City what what do you like about that Arsenal team because I look I watched him last week closeand doing the comment so you're in it a little bit more for a neutral not necessarily working when you're watching City and you want them to win I sat there with a different Viewpoint and there was a couple of AAS wondered which which which you so I I like the fact that they sort of attack in a very structured way but they've got real individual Talent as well the way old the guard can roam around the field then you've got the sackers that was the one that was the one player I was waiting for you to to think feeding people impress me really really aggressive and I think as well from my side of things is like if they give the ball away High they're really aggressive trying to win it back and have him played as you have like there's nothing worse than when you've been pending for a while and you get a you get the ball back you want some rest bik well they don't give you that you know they don't allow you to get into a rhythm and I think there are times where you can almost feel like say City f for a little bit at anfield the other day where like oh wow their energy levels are high all AR they because of the tempo that they play at so absolutely so anyway they're doing well but you know that this is what we're talking about this is the Champions League it's the quarterfinals and you want good teams to can play against you and and the players also want to test themselves that's exactly you know that that's the competition that is indeed we can see some things going on at the Champions League draw we'll have the results for you as soon as we get them it's not quite started yet Steve I'll come to you um speaking about another opponent that are in the Hat it's Atletico Madrid um obviously obviously there's a lot of City fans that won't forget the time where we played Atletico Madrid and the physicality especially in the away leg and there'll be a tough opponent to face weren't they yeah listen Diego Simone's teams we know what they're about but uh I was over there in that second leg and uh I feel like City sort of come of come of age that day for me I thought you know a lot of the underhanded tactics in football we used by them to to try and take us off our game and I think City performed well under under a lot of pressure and and I remember coming out of that ground and thinking you know what that was a great performance I know I know it was a goess but just the way we you know we we we rid the stor we didn't get too involved and and then there was a little bit of Afters in the tunnel and that which you know happens in football these days but nobody in in in that draw wants to go and play Atletico Madrid because uh I can tell you now the stadium the fans and uh and the team it's it's just not a nice place to go would you be happy Nan playing Atletico away first and then come into the atan against them I think I would do yeah I think as um as M Steve was saying there like something about going to the metropolitano is like a real serious thing I think even in I think Atletico are unbeaten at home this season domestically like that's but that's the team that's also not top of the league they're not even close to being top so clearly there's something there there's some energy there the players have belief the fans have belief and as a consequence like you'd rather get that out the way first I think City at home what record they've got you know it is literally record-breaking as such it feels like so do fan them against anyone but when you're going out there knowing that the noise is going to be up and it's not going to necessarily affect the city players maybe a referee thinks there something a bit different now maybe there's a little bit of doubt that creeps into the mind of one or two and then the game just gets out of hand like the other day atleto versus Inter Milan for me Inter Milan were the better team so why is it they're not part of this draw and I think it's because the second leg was at that Stadium yeah I think it has a big effect I think Simo and his teams as well that we've known and will sit in they'll wait they'll straight they'll foul the delay I think they've actually played more Progressive they've tried to come out more they've tried to play in better areas on the front foot uh more Progressive but for me that would suit City more now if they go and do that so they go back to to what they used to if you get Man City at home or do you actually say well we'll continue this is where we are um but yeah I'll be fine with with taking them let's stay in Spain Barcelona um first quarter final getting him excited staying in that's all he want Steve's absolutely it's warming up nicely for ail for you Steve he really really does want a holiday doesn't he um Barcelona would be a draw I mean some City fans especially based on social media said they they' love to to play Barcelona I mean out of the teams that have in the groups the first quarterfinal since 2020 they've got European pedigree and they've of course got a legend that we want to welcome back ilai gundan as well they've got pedigree I think that's a a bit of an understatement is it when we're talking about um Barcelona I just think the the pure Factor go playing in that Stadium it' be brilliant for G don't play play don't play at New Camp anymore do they uh no it's at a different Stadium yeah it's a different Stadium now still Sun there though Steve so don't worry the uh the draw is getting underway actually now they're you know what interestingly enough you'll never guess what they're doing on the on the show brownie they're doing an explainer they must have heard Adams and got a bit threatened by it and they're doing their own doing the walk through now it be I mean it does take a while don't it the draws yeah the draws do take a while um they're going through of course the teams again I'll run through it as well with you Arsenal a ATO Madrid Barcelona Bayern Munich Dortmund man city of course PSG and Real Madrid I think the Barcelona one is an interesting one because it's like very similar Styles and I could really understand that being a really good footballing game you know what I mean do you think they've got enough to hurt as well I think across two legs no I think AC cross two legs now I think like you see some of the best talents like Le yal and stuff but he's like 16 like that's someone who's got an incredible future and they're good for now doesn't necessarily mean that they are like you know right there in this moment and the draw is starting and we're also joined by Ali man what a legend hello Ally how are you mate I'm really good thank you yeah absolutely right let's have a look at the first team that are getting drawn then um as we have a lovely packed Studio here and it is Arenal out first we go Arsenal out first so here we go that is they're playing at home first leg then okay yeah so in the explainer I mean well as the explainer talk to us but if they get through it means that they'll be at home second leg in the semi-final okay that's massive that could be huge yeah yeah that could be huge let's John Obi do the right thing my friend we are I mean how we feeling jent on the uh on the screen no problem how can you be I remember last season when Andy Morrison saw we drawn Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and he said Bring It On well here we go here comes the second ball out of the Hat here we go job be do the right thing oh Harry Kane back to nor that's brilliant that that is a when you look at it a game yeah it's a game is a fantastic game and also there's two two teams for me playing against each other that you know I I think the only issue with that is like T leaving at the end of the season you know they're probably not going to win Bundesliga there's like a funny sort of like er in there but we've seen two win Champions League before haven't we we've got the next next ball coming out um Steve is obviously glowing still because there's still a chance of getting some sun um he struggling a little bit to open the ball there he he'll want second leg away in Spain as well because the weather's getting better yeah he does okay next out is Atletico Madrid Atletico Madrid This Is Us fellas I'm telling you this is us big St just so that would be on the same side of the draw as Arsenal for yes a semi-final if they both get through so if we if we're draw we are on the same side and then we'd have to play at the Emirates in the second leg to get to a potential at Wembley or at the aliance yeah is that right is that right think you're on the right side yeah no right here we go the the draw is getting made oh my God right okay big Steve if you predicted this mate we're going to have words he's he's watching on a delay it was like last time at Copenhagen we knew it was going to be that didn't we it is Bru of Dortmund which means we are on a side of with a Barcelona Real Maddis I'm not toally sure that that that's right I don't think that quarterfinal one does meet quarterfinal two don't they have a separate draw with the balls thank you Al okay I didn't listen to my all right that's good well one thing for certain is we haven't been drawn out yet and this is Barcelona it's going to be Barcelona Barca well that's how that I said Barca before Real Madrid Real Madrid PSG that's the one mbapp versus Barcelona would be all right no no Real Madrid PS Real Madrid PSG is this the one we don't want I mean to be honest we'd be playing them away first um and then coming back to the EAD and and based on the atmosphere at thead last season SG PSG is perfect I don't want to play Real Madrid see feeling don't worry it's PSG it's fine it's definitely PSG struggling to open the balls AR confidence it's definitely PSG right here we go oh Manchester City and there is cheeky on the screen well he's not happy we will be facing Real Madrid in the quarterfinal of the Champions League look at these two on the screen just nodding smil it's a mega draw brilliant draw it's a great opportunity for the champ rather beat them over two legs than one yeah yeah and we're at home at the EAD for the second leg Steve let's talk about that game against Real Madrid that matters a lot that matters a lot that second leg at the EAD let's go out there to to Spain like we did last time nothing stupid and then let's Crank It Up at home again I'm telling you now we of course already know what quarterfinal four is it's PSG who are at home um let's talk about our draw then a little bit so the atmosphere at the yetti had in that last last leg was probably well it was by far one of the best atmospheres I've seen it wasn't just that it was the performance the way the team just went at it with the confidence that they were meant to be at that level and I think that's the difference now with this team that that they'll be all watching the draw now ready to go out to training just on the back here and literally they'll think right here we go that's who we've got how excited um we've got to go and beat everybody and we're ready for it I don't think now there's we talked about it before now that the team will be phased I think they'll say oh what a fantastic game look forward to that second leg's important like Steve said I think that's the key point for me I will be worried the other way around um but I it's not it's different now City with Real Madrid I say okay no problem two heavy weights there be a lot of talk on Bellingham won't they do you know what he can do and and the talent that he's got but he looking at this will be thinking the one club we don't want is City that's what that's what we understand now and of course I think it's a big factor as well n that we're playing at the burn first leg again yeah I think it I think it can be I think it can be but you still need to understand like these are tough games regardless you know you could be playing on just a field down the road or whatever nobody there like you're still playing against one of the best sides in Europe so I think this stuffff that would that could matter I think given as you said and Steve everyone remembers that's one of the best nights the at has ever seen against Real Madrid last year in the second legue okay so the semi-final dra is actually happening right now and that is winners of quarterfinal two that have just come out um so let's see I I'll take this let's see who we could potentially be playing of course we have to get through everyone's itching M it for this how are you feeling Ally everyone's itching for this you know what the occasions being knocked out by Real Madrid it was the away leg in bernabo second knocked him out last season the home leg was second and uh I I think that's a big factor to know what we got to do at the etti had massive Factor right so we really really not concerned so there's the first semi-final Atletico Madrid or Dortmund against PSG or Barcelona which means we arsenal or Bayern potentially um I think it matters as well who comes out first here based on based on the home one so let's have a look at the draw as he as he brings it out that is winners of quarterfinal one right which means we will be second leg and once again I think home second leg I think it's actually just just played into our favor again correct because of the EAD Factor you got be pleased with that Al you if that's if that's the case second leg yeah absolutely I I I would prefer Bayern to knock out Arsenal um I I just think they know each other so well and have' played in that crucial game already I mean let's not get too far ahead of ourselves we got Real Madrid first but I do would prefer definitely Bayern to to Arsenal um I think by that stage Bayern will be totally out of their own Bundesliga race they're not out of their cup they'll be absolutely desperate and I think that plays a big part when you when you're desperate to win something um and all those stories will be bouncing around about um you know Harry Kane still not won a major Trophy and all that nonsense I just think I just think it's better for City's progress um not to face Arsenal in in this competition and and there I prefer it like last season to be Real Madrid followed by Bayern but both home legs a second which I think is a massive Factor you know they haven't lost at home since that leyon game um when was at 2018 so you get yourself a reasonable per I mean more often than not City have secured draws haven't they that's what they've got in a lot of the away legs is draws so if you say to yourself back yourself for a draw win at the etti had I think it's a fantastic draw and the EAD will be absolutely bouncing Steve I know you're going to be really happy with playing the second legs at the EAD it was a massive factor for us last year wasn't it yeah I think it's key I think you look at the record at the EAD um and I think City uh last year in the Champions League we were going to games like leig we were getting a draw we were bringing them back to the etad you know what I mean we were calm with it going to Real Madrid we got a draw we come back to the atad so I think it plays into our hands but Real Madrid is so so tough um but I'm excited Madrid the square you know what I mean they know me there now I just walk up and they get the Steve I've just checked the flights they've already gone mate he'll find a way trust me he'll find a way when they all gone already cuz you're on the show everyone's booked them um what let's let's look at the draw as a whole then let's get your predictions then for the whole draw um we'll start with Atletico Madrid Dortmund nen do you know what that that's an interesting one because for both of those sides like they've obviously earn the right to be it but like they're both delighted now yeah and I think even bigger than that it's the PSG Barca on the other side as well like of those four teams one of them will be in the final this feels a little bit like last season when there was one side of the draw that had every like big team in it and then the other side kind of had the some of the teams which weren't fancied as much so I think you they'll be delighted with that draw I think they'll be really good games of football but I just I don't know I feel like the winners of the competition exist on the other side that's that's how I feel right now Ronnie how do you feel yeah I think you're looking at that and you say the outcome of it and it's the single leg they talked about that Ali said which is which is is is such a different game two legs there's room for error um mistakes you can look at the first leg and say how do we improve where do we go and attack what do we do differently um it's the stage now we're looking at all these games and it's hard not to be excited by every single tie because that's that's that's where we are we we feel like this is normal now with this football club but it's still such a a special special Draw Something to be involved in at this stage is is is amazing we're now now talking about Real Madrid the heavy weights of the world and and that's just bring it on for Manchester City and I think that tells you everything where the football clubs at um and and I feel I feel confident I think he's some exciting games it's interesting to see what uh PSG is going to be like at Barcelona Etc how they're going to perform should be a fascinating tie that these ties do take place the first legs of ninth and 10th of April and the second like is the 16th 17th of April so it's quite close to each other there's no real rest you find out straight away when when the semi-finals are you find out your opponents quite quickly um Ali let's talk about that side of the draw as you said do you do you agree with the statement in the studio as well like you think the winners are potentially from the other side from the city Side for sure absolutely um same as last season I was alongside Andy Morrison when the Champions League draw was made last season and he said um that's the draw I wanted Bayern Munich followed by Real Madrid um I know both teams had to overcome other teams to to make that the way it would be and he said the same thing he said you know take let's take these teams on over two legs and then in a one-off final when you've got past the best teams in Europe you're going to be massive favorites almost relaxed favorites to win the final and I know into are outstanding in the final and to be honest they gave city as many problems as I'd seen any European team give them but yeah you look at the draw and you say if Arsenal get ped by Munich they're going to be I mean they're outstanding Arsenal and and they they're doing so many good things and they're such a very very well- drilled side the reason I don't want it to be a City Arsenal semi-final is because I just think they know each other too well they they pretty much canceled each other out the Emirates game I think the one at the etti had in the league in a few weeks is going to be a very similar Affair um the little patterns are very similar obviously our Teta is a very similar kind of approach to pep I think the winner will come from the city Side I still don't think they're at the level of City though Ali do you know they they're getting better but I you know I don't I want the ones there's respect there but I don't say yeah you know over those two legs and you do that often then City you're going to win the game we'll find out at the end of today as well the exact dates we play If you're looking to book your flights like big Steve but I know you're probably going to book yours straight away anyway aren't you with a rough with a rough guest I've got a bit of a dilemma Lads I'll be honest um my uh my mom and dad are taking my kids away that week so my Missy said oh we can go away for a week just me and you and I yeah no problem and I've just realized that Real Madrid away so the holiday is off and I'm going to Madrid well it's a nice place to take her to Madrid there you go no no no she'll see what I'm up to then with the lads we C well you just absolutely outed yourself on all of City platform so um you better tell us soon before someone else does um Steve so let's let's look at our side of the draw then again let's look back at it how do you see the other quarterfinal going on that side brownie you know it's just so tough to call isn't it you know you're looking and you're saying well um at this at this stage I think it's hard to call any of the games if I'm honest really to say well who's going to go on and win the level of performances that we expect the players I think we've got you've got Superstar players Haven you and you can win any game I think that's that's the point for me so you can set up if these top players perform we we look at ourselves and say well if a if a de bruyne performs on the day he will be the difference and I think you look at the other side of the dra I think that's that's got the same for me Harry Kane back to um North London n see you know what that means yeah what does that mean my Munich got out I'm kiding do you think so the reason that obviously that was a joke but I think do you know what I think I think I think you know Arsenal at this stage is still going to have a little worry on and yeah I think I think Arsenal in my opinion we'll be more worried because of the name Bayern Munich not what Bayern Munich have put out this season because for the whole season Arsenal have been performing far better overall like there's a reason why buying a 10 points behind Leverkusen at this stage in the season there's a reason why the manager having to leave at the end of the season it's not a great spot for them to be in but I think it's weird because on like name wise buying with the pedigree they have they'll enter as favor us but in reality I think Arsenal I think Arsenal would be the favorites because they're playing better football it's interesting but Kane just I don't know he there's something listen he can 36 goals this season comps it's incredible it's an incredible record yeah it is but when you look at Bayern like defensively they've not been as good this year as say other years and when you go up against the Arsenal side and the ways that they attack you you have to be solid and I think the team that beats Arsenal is one that can limit the amount of goals that they'll score in a game I don't think that's Bayern currently but you know there's still a few weeks to go before these tires happen and I think that second leg being at the alians is huge for Bayern yeah massive for Bayern huge for Bayern I don't the go to the emats and be able to perform like that if it was a second leg we saw what they did in the um second leg against Lao as well so like I mean let's talk about that first leg then ali um they have to get it right by him don't they because they can't let that tie that tie can run away from them quite quickly especially with the atmosphere at that stage absolutely I mean it can do um I I watched the Arsenal Porto game and um I thought Porto looked very neat and tidy and they gave him some problems but the Emirates Factor was huge and the fact that it's away in the second leg definitely gives Bayern Munich an advantage the thing the other thing to mention about Bayern Munich is um I'm not suggesting that 10 points is an unsalable lead but I don't see them catching a by Leverkusen team that haven't lost a football match so uh they've almost got fre hits whereas arsenal of course have got this intense sort of period where they're going to try and get their first premier league title in years they'll have Brighton away and then ason Villa at home either side of those Bayern Munich games and Mikel artetta now got to do the balancing act that is an unusual thing for him to have to do because they haven't been involved in these kind of situations uh while he's been in charge and those become factors whereas tuckle of course has done it he's got the t-shirts and he'll know he that they'll get top four so they'll qualify for next season's Champions League deep down he'll know they're not going to win the Bundesliga so they they're in a great position to have a real go at the champions league is is genuinely a free hit and if you remember a few years ago Real Madrid found themselves in that position where they knew they couldn't win the league and they they ended up winning the Champions League because they could focus their efforts on that and and they teams that are dangerous that's why I think Bayern is an awkward tie for Arsenal uh bearing in mind they still want to try and obviously uh get as many points as they can for the premier league title and that becomes a factor uh which you have to bear in mind Brighton away in ason Villa at home either side of Bayern Munich um is not an easy combo do you think with a squad depth as well Ali the way Arsenal players you know I don't know if they've got that four or five changes you know to be able to do that that might be something absolutely it's a factor it's a genuine Factor uh I mean obviously it was a fantastic uh achievement to get to the quarterfinal for the first time in many many years for Arsenal but then it becomes uh you know not a distraction that's that's not the right word but it becomes an extra additional uh stretch to their squad limit and and you look at their squad and you think they've got a fantastic first 11 but what are they are they the same depth as City for example are the same depth even as Bayern when you look at Bayern um they become factors when you get to this stage of the competition um and I also strongly believe that Harry Kane will have an outstanding two games against them I don't think that's even in question and he's been outstanding all campaign um quickly Big Steve we have got a cheeky interview to come to in a second which we will do for you guys watching quickly Bayern Munich of been eliminated um the last three seasons at the quarterfinal stage um Steve do you think that'll be on their mind going to against a tie against another English side all bit after what happened last year yeah of course I think and like you say this season's not been the best season for him um they've got issues with a manager and not leaving um but like what Ali said it could be a free hit for them they could fully focus into this now and Harry Kane on a personal level he's going back to North London he ex Tottenham you know he'd be a hero again again for the Tottenham fans if he could go there and knock Arsenal out we're hoping there's a few fairy tales that could be written in this from different different clubs you know Gund one and that could get far in there and things like that and but Harry Kane going to North London and knocking out Arsenal um I hope that one comes true so positive I absolutely love it Steve right okay we have we we've got an interview from cheeki who is on site where the Champions League draw up play so let's head there now I do feel this uh this draw it's an amazing match yeah I feel okay because any any any club will be very very difficult no to get I think the last eight is amazing the group of teams that that we are today here and okay now it's Real Madrid of course we we have to remember that that we beat them last season in semi-final so it's going to be a we want to try to remember that no but we know that of course how strong they are and they are also on top of the league and and they they enjoy in this competition what the most uh dangerous in the in this team it's always the history of Real Madrid I mean the fact that anytime that they face up this competition they think that they want to win and because they've been winning so the only thing is that we also we are confident we are doing well we have been in the last years fighting for this competition at the end we we won it so so also the competition that we are doing this year is is also very good we are winning all game so we hope that we can keep this Rhythm against Madrid everything is in the is in the end on the pitch on the pitch good players against good players good football we are want to watch a top top top game of course a couple of good games because they are one of the best players in the world they want to be on on those pitches thank you thank you very much so chei there he said we are confident um which is always nice to see let's have a word on the job that man's done for this football club browny he's not done too bad has he you look at the trophies the deliveries I think the way um around the football club uh the the the infrastructure we don't just talk about the recruitment of the players at at the first team level we look at all around the different football clubs that have been added as well um so right throughout now there platforms all around the world getting stronger and stronger that he's had to deal with I thought the partnership with him and the manager has really worked exceptionally well a couple of years ago we looked at thought pep might have been going what's the next Journey have always managed to keep that uh and obviously control a lot of players decisions as well to stay at the football club because he's heavily involved in those conversations between board level and pep which to manage that situation is very very tough so I think he always comes across really well um I think he's saying that we're we're really confident we're looking forward to the draw it's a bit of apprehensive with with with Real Madrid we get that but just said to n him there where we were listening to him I think the key last season dominating them so much I think that really helps the situation as well because they have BEC coming thinking remembering that night The Bu of people um so yeah good job all around as a player when you return to a place that potentially you've not got many great memories from the last time you played there does it play into your mind um it depends it depends how you've been battered to be honest and I think for Real Madrid after that game last season they've probably reviewed that on the Wednesday Thursday and sort of made a plan to sort of do things differently like there were times when I think it was like cros and modri were going manto man with City like attacking midfielders and he creates so much space for stones and Roder in that game like with the same manager in play now lot similar players they're going to approach it differently they can't play that same way again cuz they know they just what you say about the the teams of fear that you've been to before I only see that there's one slight doubt in these players minds of one Stadium at this moment in time and it's anfield it's got that little bit of something after that I don't feel like the players have got any other sort of um Viewpoint that they're going to struggle I think they'll say if it's real Madrid they'll say this is the stage this is what we want to play at almost it's it's bigger and better for them because of where it's at and the style and I think they'll be they'll be confident they'll be confident let's let's get a fans perspective than Steve because I remember when we used to go to the bernabo and I used to be like oh we've had some bad memories here but after last year I feel a little bit more confident how are you feeling yeah last year eases it a little bit the year before that was a was a living nightmare um but no I think City are confident I think us as fans have got to be confident with we can go there you know nothing stupid in the burn about I know that's easy to say but I think last year the performance was very composed and very um disciplined and I think we we we laid a few traps for him to come back to the etad and um we executed the plan well at the atad and I think pep will know what he's up against I think ancelotti and that will want some sort of Revenge because I think last year the level of performance by city at the EAD really embarrassed Madrid and I don't think they were expecting it so we've got to our wits about us but um listen look what we're doing look look at the Players we've got look at the journey we've been on we've been to the real madrids we've been to Bayern Munich you know what I mean we beat Inter Milan in the final so as a fan we've got the draw got the sun cream ready let's go the factor 50 we absolutely love it let's get um your final thoughts then for everyone before we we head off Ali we'll start with you how are you feeling about the draw I'm I'm pretty comfortable with it I mean I wanted City to draw someone like Barcelona and then maybe Atletico and you start thinking of those kind of things but to be honest you know you meet who you want to meet and uh you've got to knock out Real Madrid to win the champions league and and history tells you that uh since the competition started pretty much they're a Real Madrid team who um haven't been scoring goals from the central Striker position they've been getting them from Bellingham they've got three key players out in CTO Eder Millow is is not available alaba's not available they've got their second choice goalkeeper in um the the expectations levels on Real Madrid are absolutely enormous I mean whatever we think the expectations level are the etti had they paled into insignificance compared with the expectations around Real Madrid and the fact is Real Madrid have never beaten City at the etti had and and those are factors you have to bear in mind I remember pep was asked not this year but the year before about the quarterfinal draw ahead of it and he said all I want is the second leg to be at home and that's what he's got for this quarterfinal let's not get too far ahead of ourselves the potential semi-final so I'm confident uh I think the team will be confident and I think Michael's absolutely right I think the only time I've ever seen City look rattled in the last few years has been at anfield every other Stadium including the bernabo apart from stoppage time a couple of years ago the blues have looked really composed uh and and that nightmare two minutes was because the second leg was in Madrid uh if the second legs at the etti had which of course it is City have got a huge Advantage n how are you feeling I feel better than I did a year ago but that's because they've won it now you know there's the potential to play the same two teams in the quarters and semis again but I can say they did it you know they did it last year and it was incredible so now as I look at this I see it more of like a European Adventure knowing full well that they can do it because we've seen them do it before so you could have the niggling doubts but that's normal because you know that they've got the quality to be able to go and beat anyone one that's left in the competition and brownie will finish we yeah know I think for me is um the confidence now that you know even if the worst was to happen you're going to be in this stage of the draw again next season I think that's the point all around and um this is the platform that Manchester City work at now the later stages the champions league would I liked a different draw in this one probably I would have picked a different a different one at quarterfinal stages but you wouldn't want to see as Ali said in the final that's where you don't want to meet him on a oneoff so um you know I think it's a a good day something to look forward to I tell you it's also a good day for Tom Tom mcy
