I'm interested in becoming an art history instructor so I interviewed my former art history teacher from high school Ross Trenton he provided me with a lot of valuable information regarding the job field and what to expect when pursuing a career of this nature I learned that my skills and values would mesh perfectly with this career field my communication skills are especially important as the job would require me to speak with students and faculty members on a daily basis and communicate effectively in addition to this I found that a very flexible person and I'm capable to adapt thing with a variety of different situations which is extremely important in a classroom setting because you don't know what can happen he gave me insight to what I should expect from the job such as lesson planning helping students understand and grasp information meeting deadlines and other basic information like assigning work and grading papers um he told me how he managed to get his current job but told me that his methods were a little unorthodox and gave me an advice on how to tweak that so that I didn't have the same experience as him but a more positive straightforward experience into doing what I want he told me that a master's degree is necessary for a position like his and told me about his experience obtaining a master's degree and what I can expect when I do the same um he also told me about some career alternatives in museum settings and historical context and stuff so overall I learned a lot about my field of interest and how to get a job in that field and what to expect for the future of working in that field
