ALERT DAY Update: Tracking storms, extreme heat | WTOL 11 Weather

well good evening to you I'm w211 chief meteorologist Chris Vickers an update on this severe weather alert with strong storms that are now rolling into Northwest Ohio across the too Metro with Gusty winds that are well in advance of this line of storms making their way across Wood County we've got a severe thunderstorm warning that is in effect until 8:15 for winds that could reach up to 60 to 70 mph sanduski County Ottawa County over toward Erie County all also a severe thunderstorm warning as winds are gusting well in advance of this line of storms that are now headed into the area so severe thunderstorm warning that does also include Southern parts of Lucas County that is until 8:15 and that is for a considerable risk of wind damage in excess of 60 to 70 mph in addition to that look at the lightning that we have with the torrential downpours the skies are letting loose with heavy downpours across fton County we did get a report of a wind gust out of Toledo Express airport of 66 miles per hour that was the severe storm report that did prompt this additional severe thunderstorm warning that does include Lucas County now into Wood County where those Gusty winds have moved through has Haskins and Bowling Greens south of Route 6 and those Gusty winds are picking up now across Southern parts of Wood County and those winds gusting over 60 M hour that have been reported let's head just east of I75 as well where Gusty winds came through about 30 minutes ago Woodville down toward Bettsville into Fremont additional storms that may bring some Gusty winds are now headed just west of Oak Harbor that is a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 7:30 p.m. and that includes Erie Ottawa and sand duski County so again to recap we've got a handful of severe thunderstorm warnings uh Erie Ottawa sanduski County till 7:30 that is for Gusty winds up to about 60 MPH just west of that that threat of wind that is now working into Wood County with this particular storm severe thunderstorm warning for Lucas Ottawa Sandusky and Wood County uh does carry at least the threat of considerable wind damage of gusts of 60 to 70 mph along with a cluster of heavy lightning uh and downpours that are coming in that rain in the Toto Metro also coming with some Gusty winds you are clear of any severe weather across Southern Michigan Hillsdale lenaway and Monroe County and we'll continue to monitor that risk of any storms as they work across Northwest Ohio do have a severe thunderstorm watch in effect east of I 75 that is until midnight tonight we're going to continue to monitor the latest and we'll be back with updates coming up frequently through the evening both on air on w2.com and on the w2l 11 weather app stay safe
