[APPLAUSE] >> RKO, out of nowhere, Gunther just screwed up. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Orton versus Gunther for King of the Ring. >> Big fight feel, big fight atmosphere here tonight in Jeddah. >> Randy up to the apron. >> Gunther with a drop kick to the bad knee. >> And now look at Gunther just wearing Orton down. >> RKO. >> Ran into the cover, Gunther went to the bad knee. >> Here's the cover, Gunther, King of the Ring. >> Well, you can officially call him the King General. >> I'm joined by the chief content officer of WWE, Paul Triple H Levesque. Triple H, I know it's been a long night for you, so I do appreciate your time. I wanna address some controversy at the conclusion of the King of the Ring tournament final between Gunther and Randy Orton. Now, as we all know, Gunther defeated Orton to become King of the Ring. But, in reviewing the video footage, it appeared that Orton's shoulder might have been up. Do you have a comment on the situation? >> So live, I was out there. From my vantage point, it was very difficult to see. I was in the ring, handed the crown to Gunther, very happy for him. Incredible night, what a performance they both put on. Coming back here and seeing it back, look, I saw exactly what you saw. I saw what everybody is talking about. Didn't really even seem controversial to me, just seemed like Randy Orton's shoulder wasn't down. But, I'm gonna say this, the referee's decision is final. Gunther is your King of the Ring. That being said, especially after what I saw tonight, I certainly wanna see that again. I think Randy Orton deserves to have another shot at that. And I think if I know anything about Gunther, he will want to have another shot at that. To take the controversy out, to take the asterisk off of the page where it says King of the Ring for him. I think he will want to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is better than Randy Orton. So, I think having seen Randy back here, he's pretty banged up, both his knee and his back. I think it's going to be a moment or two before he is ready to step back into the ring with Gunther, but when he is, let's go. >> Thank you for your time, Triple H. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Damian priest says, >> Bring it. Here is your winner, a new world heavyweight champion Gunther. >> Gunther wins his first world heavyweight championship. >> Arguably the best pro wrestler on God's green earth in the year 2024. Gunther finally has the hardware to prove it again. >> But SummerSlam 2024 will be forever known as the implosion of the Judgment Day as we know it. >> So, if you think what I've done with the Intercontinental Championship is historic, just watch and see what I'm going to do as the world heavyweight champion. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Because in this ring, I am above everybody here. Gunner and Orton going at it. It's going to be a battle at Bash in Berlin for the world heavyweight championship. >> [APPLAUSE] >> Now, a year ago, the new world heavyweight championship was reborn, but I wasn't here. Ladies and gentlemen, I was at home on my couch recovering from spinal fusion surgery and I didn't know if I would ever make it back to this ring. And I knew, though, however, if God was gonna, by the grace of God, allow me to compete, to perform one day again for each and every one of you, that I was gonna do everything in my power to one day make sure that my name was engraved on the world heavyweight championship. And this Saturday in Berlin, I get my opportunity. New world heavyweight championship, new title, new legacy. >> [APPLAUSE] >> I will be facing a man whose head is shoved so far up his own ass that he has no idea, he doesn't even realize that he'll be facing the most dangerous, decorated, controversial, yet successful wrestler that this industry has seen in almost 20 years. >> [APPLAUSE] >> The difference between Gunther and I is, as I said before, I was humbled, I was humbled. Gunther has never been put in his place, but this Saturday, the Bash in Berlin, that's exactly what I intend to do. >> [APPLAUSE] >> All this match ever had to be about was the world heavyweight championship, that's all it ever had to be about. But Gunther wanted to make it personal. Gunther talked about my family. Gunther talked about all the demons that I've had to face. And Gunther, you're right, I've faced my share of demons in the past. And each one of those demons was tougher of an opponent than you were ever be.
