JuJu is Released - Jets Depth?

what is going on New Year Jeff fans a somewhat surprising move the New England Patriots have released veteran wide receiver Juju Smith Schuster even though he was guaranteed $7 million so they're eating the money they're releasing him and now he hits the market and with that guaranteed money from New England carrying over um similar to the Russell Wilson situation in Pittsburgh where you can essentially get this dude for free now Juju is one of those guys where everyone just seems to kind of hate right everyone's gonna go no we don't need this bum but look man I I made a video saying I don't think the Jets really need to sign the ghost of Jarvis Landry who's been at basically out of the league for a year a lot of the comments were like hey man I'll take Jarvis Landry well if you would take Jarvis Landry you would take Juju Smith Shuster um yeah I think it's unlikely and didn't he kind of Leverage the Jets in his free agency Ploy in 2021 I remember that a little bit um but hey he is a year removed from being the top leading wide receiver on a team that won the Super Bowl 78 catches for 933 yards in 2022 and between Brandon Marshall and Garrett Wilson the Jets haven't had a receiver do that a year or move from that uh still has yet to turn 28 years old so yeah would he be one of the top do we do we have six receivers better than gu gu no but that's not always how the the roster allocation math works right you got guys you're developing guys who play special teams all that has to be configured also he is a little bit of an alen Lazard role uh there's some redundancy there because he's a slower uh bigger primarily slot receiver who doesn't offer you a ton of like yaker Dynamic skill um but again wide receiver is one of those spots where it keeps coming up and jeffan say we got to add something here and look right here at the wide receiv at the free agents who are available right now yeah Juju is better than hun than Hunter renfer right now Juju is better than Michael Thomas who doesn't even exist anymore Jamal agu was like a good kick returner three years ago Jem Rand Cobb six names in we at Rand Cobb so yeah he would he's the best free agent wide receiver right now juu Smith Shuster um I don't see it as a fit with the Jets if they sign him and they're like hey man we're gonna sign him and and have better better in depth because Mike Williams has some injury concerns we don't know what Corley is yet and we're going to stick you know Jason brownley on the practice squad I would not be mad at it truly I wouldn't be mad at it am I going to slam the table for for judor Smith at the same time no but interesting release we'll see what happens and we'll top all soon go Jets
