This Pittsburgh Steelers WR is SHOCKING EVERYBODY at OTA's + 2 More STANDOUTS (Dez Fitzpatrick News)

Intro so far in this off season at OTAs in practice there's been one wide receiver who's really been turning some heads and two other standout players as well so let's just talk about this fits Patrick real quick because we could talk about Dez Fitzpatrick other guys on the Steelers who were well known who are also doing good but this is really a time for those people who are unproven on the Steelers that you get more of a look at and see what they could bring to the table and one guy Des Fitzpatrick has been really showing out before I get into what he's been doing in practice let me just go over who he is and what he's all about so he's a wide receiver he went to college at Louisville and he stands at six foot one and weighs 208 pounds he is a very well-built receiver and he has put up strong production at the college level being a vertical threat nearly 20 yards per catch in a senior year and in his pro day he turned out a 4.49 40 yard dash so he was drafted in the 2021 NFL draft in the fourth round by the Tennessee Titans but that obviously didn't turn out and now he's done a future slash Reserve contract with the Steelers and is participating in their practices and OTAs so now that we got that out of the Bucks and done with let's just talk about what he's done with the Steelers at practice thus far and like I said he's been really turning some heads this far in practice even with his quarterback Mr biskey talking out and speaking out to how good he's been this far so early in the week in practice he got three touchdowns over the course of one day meaning that he's put up big production and he's producing and even though it's practice and he scores three touchdowns that means they're doing something right coming in there he's probably not gonna make the team 100 because the Steelers really have a lot of depth at wide receiver they have so many guys okay who can make the final roster and practice squad so he's gonna have uphill battle but it's a good way how to start your OTS if you're coming in there producing even though he's not going against the number one team defense even producing against the second team or third team putting up three touchdowns in one practice against NFL caliber players is really a good way to start and he knows that as well but he's not really getting too hyped about his performance he says I've been down this road before I don't need to see this or hear any praise at this point I'm so tunnel visioned really I can't be worried about anything else other than winning the day to play the down and trying to do it all over again if it's a bad day down or play then I have to put it in the back of my mind and keep charging from other teams that's what I've been learned and the experience so far in the NFL he also said this you know the more I get into the offense the more I hear the plays in the Huddle the more I believe in my coaches the more plays I can make this is football and I feel like I'm a smart football player getting a grasp of the offense and how things are done how the routes are finished and the small Minor Details that's the stuff you learn so obviously like I said he was drafting the fourth round by the Tennessee Titans but ever since he was drafted in 2021 you know the Tennessee Titans offense is really a run first offense because they have Derrick Henry so he wasn't really given the opportunity and they never really had a stable quarterback yesterday and Ryan Tannehill for his first year but you're coming in there as a rookie and then a second year Ryan Tannehill got injured and Malik Willis was in there some bit so the offense of the Tennessee Titans since he's been in the NFL it's really been unstable so he hasn't really been given the opportunity as a fourth round draft pick and as you know fourth round draft picks at wide receiver can really turn heads and really produce the NFL level they just don't have to be first round or second round guys guys in the fourth round have been proven to show out and maybe now with the Steelers if given the opportunity and being in a system that really develops wide receivers the students are really good at finding wide receivers and maybe this could be the next gym for the Steelers because coming out of the 2021 draft this was a guy I actually really liked a lot and who I wanted the steers to pick in like the fourth round because that's to a guy I really watched film on a lot I seemed like he could produce but obviously thus far he hasn't worked out but hopefully now in the future he can work out even if he makes the practice squad hopefully he's able to show what he could do on the NFL level so even though if it's Patrick he's not really getting too hyped at his performance with three touchdowns in one day at practice and how he's been Turning Heads Mitch trubisky though didn't make some big regards towards him here's his quote you know he's a guy who at this point you give him a chance to go and he's going to go there and make plays Dez is a hard worker a good guy and so far he's been making plays so when your quarterback goes out of his way to mention you especially one Mitch trubisky who's been in the league for a while and he's the steer his backup right now when he goes out of his way to mention you as someone who's really stood up in practice and being a hard worker and someone who can make plays is a good sign because like I said he's been in the league for a while and he's been around good wide receivers yes he was in Chicago and their wide receivers weren't great but he's been with the steers now and he went out of his way to talk good about you that means that you're doing something so I don't want Ronnie Williams to spend too much time because there are two other standout players in practice thus far who's really unexpected but Des Fitzpatrick let's see what he could bring to the Steelers and let's see if you can make the team either the 53-man roster or the practice squad let's see what he could bring to the table so like I said there are two other standout players this far in practice and one of them is really unexpected it was tight end Ronnie Williams because the Sears really have a lot of tight ends on their roster right now obviously they have Pat fryer mooth they have Darnell Washington they have Connor Hayward they have Zach Gentry they have a lot of tight ends and if you've seen that picture of all the tight ends standing next to each other all of them look like they're big and strong but the one outlier in that picture was Ronnie Williams and Ronnie Williams isn't a small guy he stands at six foot four but next to those giants he looks small but Ronnie Williams he's been talked about a lot by his teammates as someone who's really stepped up and really showed out thus far in OTAs he hasn't really made any huge plays but he's just been really solid as a receiver and a blocker thus far in a short opportunities throwing the ball and running the ball so he's made some plays Williams used to be a wide receiver in college so he probably has a more natural hands at the Titan position but now he's fully transitioned into a tight end and he feels as though he's getting really better at blocking as a wide receiver you don't really block as much or you're not needed to be as a really great blocker but as a tight end you need to be a good blocker so now becoming a tight end from wide receiver in college he's really transitioning into a solid blocker so far with the Steelers and OTAs and the teammates around him are talking modem a lot the last guy I want to talk about who's Elijah Riley been really getting some praise at practice thus far is defensive back Elijah Riley so Eliza Riley so far in practice he's forced to Fumble on a wide receiver and also has an interception so he's really producing some opportunistic energy out there and is the guy who the steers signed in the halfway through the year last year when one of their safeties went down to injury they signed them and I think if I'm not mistaken he did appear in the game so he's had time with the Steelers and now forcing turnovers is something that could put you on the coach's radar because the Steelers really value turnovers especially on defense so obviously they have an open spot right now with safety because Terrell Evans is gone yes they have Keanu Neil who they sign but Elijah Riley could also play some slot so we really performs well in OTAs he could be a guy who sticks around more than the other two players I named yes Ronnie Williams like I said he's probably gonna be a practice guy if this he does make the roster and even distance Patrick he's gonna have a hard time making the roster but the one guy at safety Elijah Riley over the two other people I mentioned he's someone who could actually make the final roster not even just the track Squad because the Steelers really need someone at safety and need depth of that position and if he could play the slot that's even more an advantage to him so in OTAs yes I can name other guys who have stood out and obviously they're gonna stand out but these are three people who are probably under the radar who many of the other players on the team have spoken about who've really turned heads thus far in OTAs in practice so with that being said let me know down the
