Mom Mom and Dad we're going to do a benefit yeah right yeah um that means we don't get paid right that means all the money that is raise goes to this the highlands current the highlands current so tell me is this going to disappear off the screen if we don't keep touching something no it's fine but tell me a couple things about this event I'm quality local news is critical that's no-brainer to preserve our democracy quality local news critical to preserve our democracy but local newspapers all across the country are disappearing or being brought up bought I got I got distracted cuz being bought up being bought being bought up by corporations conglomerates we hate this we don't like it we hate this why I mean this is look to I'm going to read that part again local newspapers all across the country are disappearing they're being bought up by Corp corporate conglomerates that's corporate conglomerates say that five times corporate good maybe they'll all go away with that okay so we hate that and to help support quality local journalism in the Hudson Valley we will be at the Pete and Toshi Seager Auditorium Beacon high school at 700 pm on September 21st and this fundraiser will benefit the nonprofit Highlands current as they celebrate their 15th anniversary and that's really encouraging to me they're only 15 years old as all these local paper ERS which really are essential in giving people what's happening in their own communities information about how to be a community they're being bought up by these conglomerates and nobody knows anything speed it up signal speed it up signal okay there are you the highlands current has been named New York Press association's newspaper of the year that's no small deal for the past three years that was my part to read for God's sake you had the whole paragraph buying tickets to this event will help support quality local journalism this paper was founded by Roger ALS interesting he bought the local paper in did you say this paper was founded by Roger ALS oh no I guess I did I made a mistake let me do it all over again I was wondering I thought well that's R paper do that that's mine this paper was founded when Roger ALS bought the local paper in putham county and named his wife as publisher a concerned citizen started an alternative news source and after his death a board of concerned citizens today oversees the administration and finances of the nonprofit organization allowing the editorial team to report without fear or favor we are going to be doing one of our family evening we go and I interview you guys on stage and come on out and we'll have a good time we'll talk about serious things funny things all kinds of we never know what's going to come out because these are one kind if link to tickets in the bio it's right there or it's over here or it's here or it's here or sometimes over here please come it's such a good cause and we usually have fun maybe we won't but we usually there's always a first I mean to not have fun we have had fun yeah you never know you guys really know how to promote your beacon where is it September 21st any idea how to get there
