16 Hour Sleeper Train to Indian Paradise 🇮🇳

Lost and Late for our train… Again we are in Mumbai India and we're extremely late for a train time is 8:40 and the train departs in I don't know 6 or 7 minutes or something and uh we're on platform one and we need to get a platform 4 so yeah classic Jack and Page running through South Asian train stations once again we have been in the big cities of India for far too long especially here in Mumbai so we thought let's go and find what the real India is all about a bit of paradise the palm trees of sandy beaches so today that's exactly what we're doing we're going to be taking a 10-hour sleeper train from here in Mumbai all the way down to Gua then going on a journey down through South India to Cara to try and find some Hidden Paradise peaches hopefully we'll see what happens but uh the only thing we have is a train ticket to Goa so join us on this adventure as we search for Indian Paradise all right platform 23 that's not us but we are in platform four me me what no it's platform four no four four how do you know he's telling me what what train I'm on I don't know that was know right guys today we are in 2 AC so that's like soft sleeper um so that's quite good isn't it we're we're upgraded from sleeper class or bottom class taking stuff off the train what's that taking everything out the train why why are they doing that that goes to madarai that's in Tamil Nadu what's going on there what's this what's happening what's going on maybe they did maybe the but how would them people know where our train was that's what I don't get what's our number do you know how do you know go okay how does he know in our lives I was rude to him as well I feel bad but somehow he knew where our train is and we didn't know ourselves where our own trainers I'm very confused um okay so cck well it's now 4 minutes later then when I said we were late so we are very late now I guess there's a train moving on platform too what we're doing here we need to find a board that tells us where the trains are we need to know exactly our train number and the board Platform One see it on there right okay there's not many people left on the platform here so that means that we are slipping about hello Bab kiss okay you see oh okay thank you everybody knows what we're supposed to be doing but us mind guys we are you know self-proclaimed you know Veterans of the Old South Asian super train we're panicking here you know why it's cuz we' reserved tickets I've actually reserved some tickets and we've got ourselves a nice comfy bed and all the rest of it where I used to just rocking up at the station and uh just jumping on the old sleeper class but not today now we can travel in 2 AC how about that A2 A2 it might come a point we're just got to get on where we have to get on the train and uh yeah hey guys so the reason we are late for this train is because we were um at a place getting something to eat and we tried to get an Uber and we went out for the Uber to come to the train station whole place was shut down police everywhere turns out it wasn't for Kim Kardashian it was for president Modi or Prime Minister Modi who was uh driving past so at Uber and everything just got totally stuck and uh it totally messed up all the traffic and everything so yeah we were supposed to arrive here like an hour early and end up getting here nearly 8 minutes early so yeah that's uh that's your fault Mr Mii right this is 2ac here in India right okay communal toilets as always and uh you can see here the separated door is because there AC in here classic where you can still you know do what you want out here wow look at this guys the whole platform is flooded the the rails are underwater really yeah right okay so we do have a little problem guys is that we've reserved these seats right and uh me and PED in different places so we might have to see if we can uh come some sort of arrangement some some people staying here oh hello hello right I guess that's you then but then you're 50 I'm 50 c I'm I'm having in the same place I'm all the way down there yeah well you go have a SE yeah at least you've got a family anyway yeah that's good isn't it we'll see we'll see what we can do I'm going to scout out my little area yeah you can't always guarantee seats together um because of how busy the trains are excuse me sorry M right yeah because the trains are so busy here in India you can't always guarantee together right rightly am I in here just got a two two man Twan situation here mine is 5 5 hello how are you fine you're here are you he's 51 but his family is on 26 oh you wouldn't mind swapping would you yeah that's what so you'll sit you'll sit with your family and she can sit with me yeah that's what I'm that's brilant thank you very much but mine is this one yeah that's fine easy yeah thank you very much there we go a perfect deal done within minutes of getting on the train thank you brother 26 yeah right okay well I'm sure I'm ring with this boy here how's it going bro and uh yeah potentially we might City the worst seat for being near the toilet well you got a door here but it's just noisy that's all you hear a lot of the outside noise coming through here and the outside smell right right yeah totally cramped in here this is uh yeah not as not as spacious as year old Chinese train it's not as spacious as the Chinese green train but uh yeah you can see we're a little bit a bit crammed in anyway let's get these bags off we're moving already that was literally it we had that much time to get here um I think we're very very fortunate that will being able to actually negotiate a little deal to swap so that guy got separated from his family and I got separated from pig in the booking process of these tickets but uh yeah straight away we're all sorted aren't we right let's have a little one look look outside 5 that's weird that this is the AC cabin in here but it's colder outside yeah what's going on there right look here guys Same by everyone on the platform got to be careful here there's lots of um electrical things hanging about on the train station area but yeah this is it guys we're on the old Adventure I'm must this right so here we are guys look at this here we go time is now just gone 900 p.m. and we should wake up in Goa it's 6:00 a.m. right so that's a full night sleep we can get here and then we'll Journey deep into the tropical Seaside Paradise of Southern India I'm excited let's try and find some beautiful hidden away Castaway C all right let's get to our little seat here hello hello look I've set it up what First Impressions of 2AC Sleeper 🛏️ have you set up perfectly my curtain the curtains oh you become a curtain engineer have you so this is us this boy's basically got one AC because my seat is up there so he's got a private cabin to himself hopefully there we go look so these are the blankets that you get I guess one of them you can roll up and make into a pillow it's got people hairs on them and all that one mine just get a blanket just a blanket no pillow no pillow right unfortunately because we are in the rainy season everything's wet including the floor as you can see yeah so if I take off my shoes going to get wet feet that's a bit annoying yeah there's not much really to see on the 2ow a see it's not like see class where you can you know go about loads of people chat to loads things to see it's you know very uh very thin and narrow isn't it oh sorry bro is this going to be good enough for you to get a good uh good sleep I believe so once we cool down a little bit yeah we in that jumper whil running was a mistake M this is AC class but it's not very cool is it I'm feel sweating do you've got like under under bed storage that's quite good we can sh I'll let you thank you all right and then got to climb up these fellas here CR I feel a lot older than when I did that one year ago in India throughout rajastan Agra vasi Etc right anyway Let's uh let's enjoy it that's what we're here for so look at that stick your bag there nice firm well that's not going to be very comfortable is it big deodorant sticking out let's do this the old switcher after the 400th time throughout the night I walking up at 6:00 a.m. to get off the uh to get off the train down in Goa but yeah I'm looking forward to going south totally different uh totally different culture isn't it everything so yeah let's see if we can find a real tropical Seaside Paradise I don't know if you can tell but I've started to get a bit of a bit of a cold bit of a cough I've had some swollen glands last day or so yeah I think it's just like same as Delhi Mumbai it's just like so much pollution so much craziness of the city you know terrible air quality and uh yeah just start to build up in the chest a little bit hopefully go and smell and breathe the air of the fresh palm trees and jungles and all that of down in Goa all right that's uh let have a little lie down and uh enjoy this journey got 10 hours on the old parad Ice Express shallow biceps conductors here to check the trains much quicker checking the tickets here we swapped with the guy to be with his Jack yes I'm here can I have your passport please yeah I need your passport yeah AC yeah there's no AC it's working some problem technical snag is there they just I hope they fix it yeah we take 5 to 10 minutes that's good news cuz right now it's not 2 AC it's just two no no I'm feeling the same all right nice friendly ticket inspector on the Paradise Express here our boy in there who I've given you seen the stuff he's carrying in there actually you seen that giant green box he's got he's got his whole house packed up it's that is literally his whole house bab are you moving house are all that sort of stuff while at the station but uh as I said earlier we didn't have time so get a bit of uh free water I can hear the AC just started to kick in can't really feel it though where is it oh there I think it's miles be coming out of here yeah yeah definitely coming out of there can I please have a chocolate biscuit chocolate biscuit pepper oh that looks good yeah okay k p 50 50 okay chocolate wafer just all right right yeah so the guys just come around and gave out fresh bed sheets which are these comes a nice little parcel and you can you know put a bed sheet down on here for you to to sleep on but to be honest to be honest with you when you're on the top bunk it's just like more hassle than it's worth to try and have me heads touching the roof here I'm all like completely squashed up to try and think I can you know get all this out and start working a sheet underneath everything it's just like yeah might as well that bother so I'm just going to use that as a secondary pillow right I'm going to uh get down and uh go to the old toilet get some fresh air and uh say a little prayer that it's uh quite a quite a clean one on this train cuz it's always the lottery let's go and scout out the train see what we're working with for the next 10 hours what we got here closed doors which is very important in the AC classes what we got here this I guess it's all right to be fair not on the worst ones of been in is it yeah it's a bit wet everywhere but uh no bad smell and uh yeah it's obviously just started at Mumbai so we're the first ones on this so Gott a bit lucky there also look at that soap now normally I come very prepared for the Indian superer train with this fell that is your Lifesaver when you're on the uh secret trains in all over South Asia you need to pack this and also toilet roll because as you'll see here definitely no toilet roll so it's a good practice little roll toilet roll one of these so you're right out for your Journeys what you doing up there all right so what else we got I love doing this be like Indiana Jones Crossing between two Majestic things but yeah we'll go there there's the old outside that's what we want that's what we're com Here For Shame it's the old nighttime but uh yeah fresh wind blowing in the air the late night sky see some stars and the rain is coming through to look at some of the settlements those houses on the roadside but of course you can't see that it's too dark well well as Night comes down on Mumbai we'll leave maharastra and onto a new state so going to try and get a nice good sleep eat me chocolate biscuits and drink some of me water and uh yeah hopefully we'll wake up in Paradise close that get our get our pillow hey good MCE well it's it's the morning time here in South India had about 4 hours sleep Waking Up In South India maybe 3 and 1 half at best but yeah this is the situation this is Dawn here it's not quite the beautiful sunrise over the jungle that I expected but all this Greenery has been freshly watered look at this beautiful scene here oh my God it it's just deluscious green thick jungle absolutely incredible to be there wow this is one day to wake up in the morning there's no better wa a wake go they feeling the fresh jungle rain wow incredible wow you know some people wake up and they Splash their face with some water that there is as real as it gets wow what do you got there cold coffee cold coffee I'm get I'm getting off now have good okay go M go yes yes thank you well we're pulling in to madg small City in the state of Goa that's not our final destination that's just where we're getting off the train we still have another journey to continue deep to find the beautiful beaches of South India well unfortunately it looks like it's still raining which is not ideal so I hope we get a little bit of rest B so we can truly find bit of Indian Paradise right let's get ourselves off the train Dr okay left this way well we're touch down in here we are but we're not going to be staying in Goa there are beaches here beautiful beaches nearly 10 20 minutes Drive but that would be too easy wouldn't it and the beaches in go are extremely crowded we wouldn't want that would we right so we're going to get on a new train and head further south to the state of Cara and hopefully find this paradise town that goes by the name of goana now the only thing I know about this place is that Gabriel traveler P if Gabriel traveler been it must be a very good place so no plan no ticket no nothing apart from we want to get to go carer today so let's see if we can find a way to get ourselves a couple of tickets and get down to the quiet Indian beaches so let's have a little look at this shall see if we can understand our route today no we're not going to find out we're not going to find out but look at that guys right so where are we I think we're all the way in the middle yeah where that red line is in the blue dot I see yeah we're up there right is that oh there mad right mad Goan station and it comes all the way down you see winding down here past beaches like hallm uh things like that you know you got palan you got South go Beach kakona Island all these ones this is a typical you know Russian holiday makers Paradise we're going to be going to go so you can't even see it it's a different state Cara so let's try our best and get there whether it's Planes Trains and Automobiles who knows but hopefully it's just a trp like a 4our drive all right lead us to the ticket counter Peggy that sleeping dogs die or sleeping passengers in this Cas look at this here just some TI station isn't it that boys boys fast as s cuz it's just so rainy outside they're all coming here for Refuge fry I think this is called Gana Gana town or something all these dogs are proper sick dogs as well oh I'm allergic to dogs and the NOS are starting to go sooner we get in and out of here the better this's kicking himself in the head over says he can drive that far let me go and I see how much it costs yeah they will tell you this is the official government they will tell you the exct price okay thing is guys is that we can it's 9:00 a.m. it's Ching it down we in no rain time not training train coming late very late yes I know but um yeah we can wait until 300 p.m. for a train and get us there at like 6:00 p.m. or we can try and get on the Move now and we will uh we'll be there in like 11: you know not even lunchtime here yeah um How much would it be to go to goana like just a town to yeah bus terminal bus terminal yeah how works out good for everyone doesn't it we're going to get a new friend for a nice road trip through gu and uh and he gets you know a good day work okay I'm here with my friend up upstairs now First going Curry is supposed to be spicy so we'll see shall we it is very nice yeah very nice what's it like it's uh a very Savory Curry yeah that's just like basically like fluffy white bread kind of looks like rice yes yes it's rice ah it's made rice okay that makes more sense here's a masala P DOA look at that that's something isn't it that's a big one there's my black coffee thank you by thank you there we go nice cup of coffee crispy pancake yeah and inside there's some f and cheese that looks spicy and you're dipping it in an exray Curry there yeah yeah it's quite s something you get from a takeway really like this oh inside with vegetables yeah well like The Voice said it's all pure veg in here so yeah very nice okay let's get a big piece of that stick that in there scoop it out with the old spoon ofoo and enjoy our first ever going breakfast so wow it it is like very very thin just feel it I'm actually going to put this in the in the right at this time now right crunchy it's crunchy mhm very crunchy very nice soft and crunchy exactly that's my I love that complete difference crunchy on the outside lovely and soft dense on the inside put that in the curry mixture there that's what you want mhm lovely right wash it all down with a nice cup of draw oh it's very sweet classic you like sweet yeah sweet's fine yeah Indian style let's enjoy this breakfast and hit the road [Music] A Journey To Gokarna it's just so impressive looking out the window here we're just in Deep Jungle fast FL in rivers on the monsoon palm trees in Ricefield just everything this complete all nature and Wildlife just flourishes during the B yeah what a lovely lovely sort of Mountain Road just winding through the Green Hills of Goa wow here we are AR finally in the center of Gana Gana Beach you to go down there down there Perfect all right a temple and home Beach is you want to take a ride from here yeah home Beach I will go from the mountain though yeah this is the mountain oh that way look online and I found a hostel here which is zostel which we have stayed in before in Delhi um I think that's the only one we stayed in maybe jaur I forgot but uh but yeah we've stayed in a hostel before and they have one here in goana so you know good budget friendly option and they're offering like cute little cottages for the accommodation so you know a nice Cottage with a view of the sea how walk do you want in this lovely Indian Paradise town which I'm sure will truly reveal itself soon when it eventually stops raining whenever that may be so I think it's up a hill somewhere so we'll see how far we get we might just need to uh jump in a Tuk tuck to uh get us the rest of the way but yeah what a journey from so colorful yeah beautiful isn't it I mean it's not just colorful of the buildings like you're seeing absolutely stunning colorful buildings but also the monsoon season has brought so much color enery isn't it absolutely amazing like India in the monsoon season has been one of the most naturally beautiful places I've ever seen that's the color of the green everywhere even the the moss on the walls there it's just like as if it's had all the saturation Turned Up full I don't know if I said before but if I was a cow living in Mumbai i' be on my little trucks coming down here the grass is so nice get yourself down here in the cows are like small and skinny don't they here you just see the cows and they're all just munching at grass they got a buffet of prime cut grass the rain is starting to pick up a little bit here so I think we might jump in that Tuk tuck after all now we want one there'll not be one here right I tell you what I don't want a Tuk tuck I want to walk the whole way un bothered there it's com there we go see I I definitely didn't want one [Music] light up oh here we go got 1 15 okay chal right let's get in here well I said in Bombay that's to get here to go carner it was going to be playing strains and Automobiles it hasn't quite been that but it has been trains cars and Tuk tucks anywhere possible to get to paradise and we're almost there you can see the arch and palm trees over the colorful streets cows in the middle of the road this is proper India right here thanks to Gabriel traveler for the recommendation to come here so far so very good here we are car have while our man Gokarna Zostel is checking Us in here let's have a look at these clifftop views of G Carana Beach I'm looking at it now this is beautiful this is exactly what we wanted and we're sitting there in Mumbai wanting to get away from it oh I can feel the sun coming through life is sweet you know oh here we are look at this unbelievable just an endless white Cascade of waves and this look at this man you I don't even know if you can see just palm trees for miles and miles and miles you can't even see them because of the humid Mist just rolling over them like its own set of waves absolutely gorgeous a huge Eagle just flew past there the wildlife yeah is just insane everything from the plants look at these birds here that one's just a classic black bird got a little doggy dog down here but yeah wow just the Endless Sea that goes out into the well this is the Arabian Sea wow this is perfect you know what it is though guys the best part about getting a hostel like this is that uh you know if it is Chu it down and rain and you can't go and use the beach or go on the hikes you can chill out in the common area you know I have just saw there there's a pool table things like that that's what you want isn't it just stuff to do all right well here is our lovely Cottage a nice seating area out here look at that a drying rack for our clothes hang your clothes out or dry lovely right let's see what it's like nice big desk that's what you want isn't it thank you so much what's in here bathroom oh that's all right actually look at that separate shower couldn't ask for more than that it's just been it's just being clean the floor's still wet but yeah that's quite rare that in in India and all of South Asia really is a nice shower screen so the toilet doesn't get wet when you're uh when you're having a shower but yeah this is lovely look at this let me sit there loads and loads of light get a bit of work done on the old desk here that's a nice comfy chair nice and paded chair very soft chair this is ideal this gu it's absolutely ideal sink is outside the room which is very typical in China actually but uh yeah don't always get that in India so that's quite uh quite rare but uh very nice little coverboard facilities we've got um you need an adapter for this one it's a local local Charger got a cattle in that though but yeah so I can literally sit here put the laptop on here look out at palm trees in the jungle and when a fancy nip across the road play some pool have a drink go look at the sea go for a hike travelers meet some fellow Travelers you know get social this is perfect guys this is absolutely perfect well tell you what well wor the journey to get here yeah let's uh let's get settled in into life here in Gana well it's done absolutely nothing Finding Paradise Beach 🏖️ here in Gana other than Chuck it down with rain endlessly that's all it's done so I've decided screw it I'm just going to go out and enjoy this lovely beach in the rain cuz what else am I going to do bit of a solo Mission look at this carow over here he's uh taking cover under somebody's uh little cottage roof there smart boy but yeah this is it I'm just going to go out in the soak and wet rain and enjoy all there is to enjoy here in the beautiful Indian Co line let's hit this road travel down to the beach cuz we're up on a mountain here so we need to uh get down to the beach we don't have and nice more pad like these fellas do we've just got our two legs but yeah guys regardless of the rain it is absolutely beautiful here you can just see these dense palm tree forests for absolutely miles all of the humid Mist Rising through them get a little capture of the Waves crashing against the shore yeah I'm excited to see our first experience first time ever on an Indian Beach so let's go what sorry all right well we are in a small town of vulcana here which leads up to the beach yeah I think I might be able to get not interrupt their ceremony there don't want to start shouting over the top of them you know um but yeah I think I'm going to get this whole Beach to myself inevitably yeah what a beautiful uh local town this is few hostels up on the cliff side but come down here and uh all of the beautiful colors and everything FS clothes buildings look at this here very very nice yeah proper local town here and we're going to a proper local Beach for proper local people and me the only mad lad willing to go to the beach in a stormy rain oh trying not to get killed along the way all right I don't know if that says the beaches that way or not but basically I know that the beach is like over there somewhere so yeah got all my things in a little wet bag here I was at least Smart in that sense oh here we go it's very clear to see where the beach is beautiful palm trees lying the endless Horizon and there's a nice little cow there he is look at him car sub look at him well to be honest there's uh a lot more people than I had first expected to be here yeah the Indians just don't care about the rain like raining great I go to the beach only going to get wet anywhere lovely right it's already opening up beautifully here look at this over here guys it's like some sort of river yeah so I guess the river pours into the sea interesting so a lot of people are here doing that Holy activities pilgrimage things like that I think this supped to be quite a spiritual uh Town yeah nobody nobody cares everyone's like drudging through the puddles and that right what we got here then this is what a Beach is like in the wet season in India Namar Nam there a cow and a dog it's like a pubbing at the cow and dog he oh what we got here Lords of clothes what's all that about right CRA this is uh this is quite something let's let's go down onto the beach here come was go what are all these clothes here what's that entering into the monsoon season entering into the sea is strictly prohibited during the monsoon season that doesn't explain why everyone's left all the clothes on uh on the Rocks here what's going on there someone explain that to me why it's not like there's like litter there is a little bit of litter but but like this is like specifically wet cloths I don't know people like go for a swim and I thought the cloths are wet I'll just leave them here and get some new ones I don't know what's all that about way this SP is out Conn collecting rubbish I guess see if you can find anything valuable but yeah there's a few uh sort of shacks selling um swimming swimming costumes I think yeah like men's modest swimming costumes but hey this is why we're here guys you know our hostel is uh up there that one up there so that's why we've got that beautiful view of these waves crashing down here but yeah guys listen we came here from Bombay on a journey to find Indian paradise and you know what we're found was a whole heap of rainy weather gray skies and chubby Seas but you know namaskar what's wrong what what what's only working what is the difference difference or or or up or up or up or up F what's that F I don't know what that is I feel like you're making rules just for something to do here Ping P what's that Mach okay they I'm not swimming just walking not allow not allowed here is okay okay here no no no by CH rain rain rain I know it's raining it's okay I'm already wet I just want to show my friends beautiful beach B okay okay AA just here here only okay I'm just going to cross here well that was uh exactly as I thought it was in yeah that was clearly he was looking for something to do a little bit bored on a quiet beach here has this nice big latty in hand ready to uh to scare anybody off but uh not me I am the Explorer of Indian beaches I shall not be moved from this very safe sand 40 50 ft away from the tide so anyway I was about to make a very sentimental note there so my point was right guys that you know we me are looking for the idyllic paradise and I think sometimes Paradise can just be ironically freedom and what we've found since arriving here is that we have time to just enjoy simple things like the rain or watching the Mist come over the the forest or you know bantering back and forward with a policeman no but you know just like taking it a bit slower than just sitting and resting after you know do a lot of you know pretty adventurous travel long trains bus Journeys car Journeys crazy cities street food all the rest of it but to come here and just have the freedom to say yeah you know what I'm just going to sit and watch the rain I'm just going to watch Earth have its thirst quenched and all of the greenery can just Blossom around me and I'm just a tiny little needle in a ha stack of life and that's just like that's Paradise in itself isn't it really [Music]
