okay everyone job done for Celtic this afternoon in Paisley 3-0 victory over St Merin three wins from three in the league so far nine goals scored zero conceded it's all good [Music] Stevie is is no complaints from me either heish um are you going to do that we Grand Theft Auto intro am I going to get it here or have you already done it it's already already been on Stevie people watching this will know that see Stevie messaged me the other day and said oh is that is that the new intro I think it will maybe grow on me and I was like oh thanks very much Stevie it only took me about two hours to make it but Hey listen I know what it's like people when you're done editing for example a podcast a lazy half hour a gig pod and it takes me up to an hour and a half so like I get it all right but listen the main the main thing is you enjoy it he don't worry about that yeah uh everything is good though we're um Celtic are a bit of a joy to watch at the moment uh I'm just really enjoying watching the team I thought there was so many positives again today we made really light work of that uh and that's a ground it's probably one of the one of the tougher ones to visit definitely um and I know as well like when Brendon rers went there twice last season um it was quite comfortable wins although you know that I thought that was a the more accomplished performance than any of we got the cup game was one of the you know I remember the game against him we got them in a really bad day um last after Christmas last year and then there was a bit low up till Greg Taylor scored I believe in the second half and then the cup game was just a scrappy one in general but they still with the chances I can't really remember s having anything other than maybe the left back having a shot from range that Cas Sho held on to we we really restrict them to nothing and I thought there was a moment uh quite a few moments yday that when you saw s in on the ball Celtic just attacked them um you know in packs to get the ball back we looked remember you compare compare that sort to last season HH when I think we were quite passive at times last season we sat off teams and we let other teams come right into they dominated it against us and the times our Midfield were just looking very physically weak and other teams were getting so many chances because the coherence between there was no cohesion already between like the defense and Midfield whereas you saw the day they were just all over it um they gave as I said absolutely nothing and anytime s did have the ball had space within seconds so they were closing down you had Bernardo and McGregor or even hatti like all of them in packs swarming desperate to get a ball I really like that hunger enthusiasm great to see and it's just what what a difference it's been this season compared to last season with the start we've made and I know like we don't get ahead ourselves and football can change quickly and I know we're going to have a really vital week but things are looking good so far um and the players look like like like they did do in preseason heish you know they looked as if they were really buying into everything that the manager um has been expecting from them and even when the subset came on the day we saw with Nicholas K he was desperate to sort of show that he wants to be starting next week as well yeah the attitude is is there for everyone to see uh when we've not got the ball we're so Keen to win it back and I just think I just think against these uh these Scottish teams if you press them they really struggle to to move the ball round you um I I would love to know the you know the the kind of best sequence of passes some M managed today I don't think it would be it' be too many passes there was moments in the game where I was actually kind of counting how many they were putting together and a lot of the times it was a couple of passes and then they were forced to to lock it knock it long uh because we're pressing them so well and cter vicker just eats that up at the back and he's just so aggressive getting the ball back back Liam scales I thought had a really good game but then also when you when you go to us having the ball were so comfortably passing it out at the moment even when s mein were coming and pressing us on occasion I think like right at the start of the second half they clearly had had been told you know we need to push higher here we need to really Force Celtic into mistakes but we're just so comfortable moving the ball out from the back Casper schme I know he's not had anything really to do yet and he did have one save to make as you say today it was a routine one but I just think how Casper schichel and the ball just look so comfortable as well I feel at ease when he's got the ball um and I think he I think his teammates feel at ease as well I think that's honestly made such a big difference L I love joart joart was amazing for us but you can't deny that Casper schmeichel is is a lot more calm and comfortable with with the ball at his feet so I thought it was so many positives today obviously like the the notable thing from this season so far as how early we're getting that first goal uh I think it was um the last three games now CU I think it was 3 minutes at Easter Road Four Minutes last week against hibs it was less than three minutes today when Callum McGregor got that goal uh and it it just um it just gives us such an early confidence boost and and puts the opposition up against it so early totally deflates your position can you imagine you know like we've already seen from other teams in the Premier where they've given just allocation so their fans are even more up for it desperately get a result against us and you can imagine you know team talk before the game really within two minutes now um in the last few weeks that's it I mean the Celtic when you do go go head early it just kills any momentum it just kills the atmosphere the mood or inside the stadium um for the home team in Celtic just B on it after that um so yeah it's that that's a key part of it but I wanted to touch on very quickly what you were saying about Casper schicho because I know that you were saying how assured he is and it makes you feel you feel far comfortable when he's in the ball and and I totally get it because I looked on it there um his pass rate today and was like 98% so it was like 4 48 out of 49 like passes and like you know that I think the one he missed was right in the last minute wasn't it cuz he put one out out the park literally in the last kind of minute of the game so yeah and you know things like that as well like I did notice it right away in preseason with C sh with his distribution and I was hoping that you know if he was doing that against the level teams right you know I don't look into it too much with the friendlies but against the caliper opposition that we played and it was so noticeable that he wasn't one for wasting a pass like the way that he's doing it and he's just transitioned like so seamlessly he got his football it's great because Joe Hart as good as he was T he's distribution was um not the greatest so yeah that that can only help a team like us where we really just want to play football as well and keep the ball keep possession keep the ball in play as much as possible and when you've got your goalkeeper doing that football becomes a lot easier and S would have saw that today because s would have probably been trying to press jichael when he had the ball and like putting it along Bing out a play and that's what they thrive on so love like throws and free kicks that's what they play for just to slow the game down you saw what happened today the ball was in play so often when sh all the defense had it Celtic would just get break the lines it would get to the midfielders and we B up on it we move after move and S couldn't cope with it and actually do I think s are thought always praised them praised them last season a few times and I think I always didn't think today was going to be a strong in the park thought it was going to be like quite a tight game I think I said 2-1 but yeah test went through the team that they actually other teams will definitely struggle there once they find their feet and now that they finished um playing in Europe and everything I think they will probably build on it lately after the international bre a decent side but I think um yeah well done to Celtic for going there and a lot of that I would say also was down to the Midfield performances today Bernardo McGregor and and especially heish I thought well utterly utterly fantastic today yeah the Midfield was excellent um hatti I think we we needed that today from hatti because obviously you know it was the first game without Matt O'Reilly and Brendon Rogers confirmed before the game that um that Matt's down in Brighton having a a med so that's going to be announced imminently so you know it's no shock now but um we're not going to have m going forward so I think it was important today that that Midfield functioned well CU it wasn't really a given was it I mean Matt Matt oil is is a fabulous player and to have him taken out of that Midfield you could very easily have had you know things just just struggling a little bit the big positive will obviously come on to attack because he was the standout player today for me um big positive about that Midfield I thought Bernardo just slotted in perfectly like he'd never been away it didn't feel like bernardo's first start uh back in the team I guess that's the advantage of signing a player who who we had on loan last season I I just thought Bernardo just was as I say just came right into that Midfield and I actually thought he went under the radar as having a really good game today um I'm quite excited to to see what Bernardo can produce this season he already looks maybe a little bit more comfortable for me now that he's a permanent Celtic player and I think that's what we all hope will be the case going forward uh the Midfield functioned well but hatti was the star of the show some of his his football today was brilliant it was a pass he had through Forida kind of half volley pass in his weaker left foot that that just summed up um just how confident he was today and he's when ha's playing like that I think I don't know if sometimes we we forget a little bit how good Rio hatti is uh when hati's playing at that level there's not anyone in in Scotland now that will come close to him no I mean you already seen Celtic were blessed with maty who was the best football on Scotland by some distance but HTI again wasn't far behind and um I think H's got a lot to I don't don't really think he's got a lot to prove to Celtic fans but it's more on S I think last season he also remembered the the start he had when he was dropped in favor of David TBO he got the injury up at aine he's really hit the ground running this season hasn't he five key passes a days as well and that ball you were about either I actually was in 11 room watching it um just stood up that's the type of pass I love just wanted to Wi you you stood up in the the living room well I did but I was still enjoying believe it or not I do have enthusiasm for time time when I'm not just lying in on a couch but um you standing up to get a chocolate bar or something like that I I a few RS don't worry about that I actually stood up and was like wow what a ball and um Al either didn't put it away decent save with um goalie but H I think the majority of Celtic fans know how good a player he is and sometimes we can there's a level of frustration there with with especially last season at times but a stop start um season in general but it was no no surprise that when he did came back and all right the goals and assists weren't there last season you came back in a team in March but he was mobile and Sal he played and it was no surprise that that's when we played our best football and went on to win the league with introduction ofio coming back but he looks as if he's get a fired and his stom now looks if he's like desperate to take the mantle for mat oil and just be the Talisman and I think that's a great thing I think we were talking about that during the week he was great I thought McGregor dictate he play so so well today uh fantastic loose balls today McGregor wasn't he every second ball and I just noticed as well I know we we notice at every game that he does it they'll basically be always recycling play and he'll be dropping deep and he'll be going wide just to pick it up and feed the ball into the danger areas but I noticed that a lot more to day maybe because how Titan compacts it him were he was still working his way through them so so well heish totally agree with what you said with Bernardo too he was really fluid in play um and I think yeah I think next week I mean the team that started this week that Midfield that started today you'd like to think that would be the team that plays next week but there could be a high profile signing you'd hope um that we're coming into and hopefully we'll talk about that next week but for the moment um I would say that that that's bernardo's Jersy loser now I mean he was was fantastic today the whole the three Midfield absolutely excellent to watch really really a sure performances you'd be happy with those three in for the Derby next Sunday it's probably it's probably a bit it's probably a big ass to throw a new signing in for their first game in a derby probably Midfield oh may you say that but if they're good enough they' be able to play in the derby you know I mean if we're going to spend proper money in the play you want to see a proper if we going to spend proper money on a midfielder you want to see them have that mentality to be able to go into a game against Rangers and you know that's nothing to them so I would hope Johnson did it didn't he jeni did it as well so he did um but yeah honestly I thought certainly Bernardo with the performance that he put in today um he'd be M he'd be my packing M field for next week as it stands uh Adam started the game we were having a we H back and forth in the chat during the game yes you were H you were just saying he looked a little bit Rusty to be honest I agree with you I think we were kind of making a a similar point I was really encouraged by Ida's movement today h similar to Bernardo the fact that he never he looked like he'd never been away and Alistair Johnson was finding him a lot you know Johnson was kind of dropping in well that right back roll and he was kind of looping that uh right footed pass over the top and I thought hea got on to a lot of them just didn't quite come off there was stuff just kind of coming off of me he did look a bit Rusty but uh like I I was very encouraged by the fact he got into those positions um and I think H I think all that that first touch and that clinical Edge will come in time I well I was in the chat with you earlier like saying we want waste of money this is terrible what have we what have we done here cuz I was saying all in the summer too if we are going to go out and either if we're going to go out and get either we have to get them in and I would say maybe what we saw today was maybe the fact that if we got him in sooner if he had a preseason if he even got you know the games against like kumal and HS Easter Road he would have been fitter you know been um in a better position like that today it's that was his first start and I'm not going to be too harsh on him genuinely but I do feel um it was a pretty poor performance all in from him I can't fault his movement but I thought he should have had at least one goal today the one that had put through he's on he's on his left foot he's going away for goal um The Keeper makes are pretty decent save so I'm not going to criticize too much but there was one in the first half image where I think who was it forest or hatti had a shot from close range it was saved and he had the rebound um and he blasted it right the keeper he should have been hitting across him that should have been an early second goal and then you know he s was that the one for the brilliant team move when it was an incredible team move and it ended up with atat I think forcing The Keeper in a save but it was unbelievable football yeah it was great football hatti of course it was just before hatti tried that amazing we B thr Forest just didn't get a foot on it to oh yeah he should have as well it was a good pass for it kind of went under for was a strange one it was a wonderful ball for for him but yeah that I think that Miss for for um had me grown in and that's when I was in the chat going it should be putting that away you know what I mean it should be definitely scor that it's one of the ones as well though how many have we time how many times have we seen F Hashim Miss s um and then he'll go up the park and score a cracker I was still expecting either that to score to day I was surprised they didn't get the schol Sho at all but maybe credit to the way that and sort of nullified them second half because the chances really Wen there until I would say we made the subs after that but no anyway I would say the goals will come in time there's no like immediate concerns there if we're getting performances and chances M like that for me to and to become a habit that's different but yeah for the first start fine the most important thing was the three points wasn't it yeah just going through a few other players I thought you know daen MAA had a typical daen MAA performance like he was just brilliant and for for the the vast majority and um he quite enjoys playing at St m i wait to St M he's he's scored a number of goals there and he's always quite effective in those games from from my memory anyway uh but he had a few moments later on in the game as well like the the traditional I think he does it every single game MAA shot wide High wide into the into the stand um but I thought you know I just love MAA I thought he was really good today actually in the second half as well when the space opened up a bit he looked really Lively uh James Forest I thought had a kind of a kind of strange game like he got into some really good areas and he he he was really involved in the game uh it just didn't quite come off for him absolutely fine no issues really but um yeah he got into some good areas it's funny because uh the app here have got the humble H sofa score which is a great app by way is it it's underrated folk go for Flash score but sofa scores your your boy um if they want sponsor is get in touch uh they've given the man of the match to Alistair Johnson with a 9.2 atat got an 8.8 I guess Johnson's goal probably helped with that he was Alis Johnson was really good today I thought played well played well actually yeah took his goal very well that's um cuz remember he scored as well at the old love street that we remember back in the who's his other goal cuz he scored two there and CER said he's got three Celtic Park was at no against the dunde I'm pretty sure no oh I don't think it was he scored no yeah they scor it though didn't he yeah yeah I think you're right no you knowa I remember now no I'm talking nonsense it was against he credited with a goal one of the worst games ever against Ross County last season one now game remember uh yeah was that first minute or something first minute took a deflection and then the rest of the game we didn't play any football and we were hold it on against Ross County so yeah just about whole just getting me on today your Jo you should be having all this up here um yeah played well by the way can I also say a notable shout out like I don't know if youve get any medication here heish but your heart might you g to say I thought Liam skilles um deserves credit today because moment in the first half where there was a ball put across uh I think it was one the forwards was it there we go I'm just do I can't remember that's who it was um probably a tap in but scales got there ahead of him and if he wasn't care for the ball could have went pichel but he diverted it out for a corner brilliant brilliant defending filam scales so I want to give a shout out there maybe people think I'm a be bit too harsh in Liam skills because I want to see better but I really thought he was great today and that was excellent from him but yeah alist Johnston all game nothing nearly get by him at all took his go very well too and um I think Nicholas K when he came on I was touched on ear but Nicholas K looks so so so mobile Nicholas K like what a nightmare it must be like James Forest who um I thought was okay today but generally if you like left back and Forest is good off you maybe thinking right I've got a B one here and then King comes on and he was just a nightmare wasn't he so yeah he looks as if I going just on like current form like Nick's could be starting next week definitely in the derby I think he and I know that I think that was it the manager or Crocker I had say guy that there was a back injury apparently we strugg but I mean back injuries um I'm speaking as an old guy here and they really put me out for weeks usually you've been there an operation back I believe but they usually one prefer you didn't share that to the thousands of people watching but fair enough all right well I'm pretty sure I thought you say that to people but anyway um point being it didn't look as if he he had um missed the this match because he was just like right on it he looked fantastic today yeah he was excellent uh see if you can just um what is it like a kind of Ruthless Edge he maybe needs because the amount of times he did it a lot against hibs at Easter Road and he had one moment today soon after he came on when he was driving with the ball and he I agree he looks lightning he looks so quick he looks able to go past anyone at this stage but um he just kind of rather than hitting the shot he tries to beat three men or four men rather than just getting it see what once he realizes and hopefully Brandon Rogers is just or one of the coaches is just sitting down having award to him and going get your shot away quickly once he does things really quickly like he'll be unstoppable domestically at least I am so excited about Nicholas can I I'm I'm stunned we're here already with him I don't want to go overboard because it's only a few games but like he he looks so quick and so agile it does not look like the same player from last season at all and I'm I'm so excited to see what he can do going forward um I thought he was excellent um I thought trying to remember the guy's name now Richard Taylor from s Marin was really good as well I thought he had a really a really good game like he looks quick and um aggressive and strong I'm not saying that he'd be a Celtic player by any token but he he certainly I'll be looking out to see what he does going forward yeah was it not him that made that it was a 5050 where dies MAA and he actually made the tackle there's not a lot of players that are doing that cuz MAA looked like as if he was favorite for for the ball and Taylor came out of nowhere and won it so I one of the few bits of um good play for San and you know positives at their end that was um Taylor and actually thought the goalkeeper and the boys on for brenford um he played pretty well as well you can pronounce his name you can pronounce that for me I'm not going to it but um yeah he he he like I mean if it was it for him could have won by a good few so I right I know we did b a good few more even um but yeah couple shout outs there for S but I would agree with that I thought Taylor was definitely the best Outfield player what um about penalty calls cuz for me there was a few in there that were like were H were very interesting I would say I wouldn't say any of them were complete Stone wallers but um I thought the one I thought the one when MAA was kind of H taken out by Sha Rooney I think if maida goes down and doesn't get back up and and take the shot I think that's given as a penalty I I thought that could have been a penalty very easily I think the I'm trying to remember the other two now I think from memory the first one I didn't really think was what was the second one cuz I thought that was no the second one I don't think it was MCA took it by a couple of players and then I think he's bounced maybe off one of Def that was the first one I think that was one there was like a tangle of legs type thing there was a there was a second one it was I'm so sure it was a penalty I can't even remember what the incident was but I remember thinking at the time I would have liked to seen that again I there's not controvery cuz we won 3 n but yeah the one with MAA I thought it's a testament to D MAA and his attitude that he just goes right back up and gets a shot away but again the goalkeeper saves pretty well and it's a corner but I think if he went down there that that's getting looked at and that's a penalty because it just looked like on vision and even in the replays from SE several angles look like a stone Waller but again that's the type of player D is even if he is um you know bodied and it's a a brutal one like you you'd never see D made stand down for long he would just always rather get up and try and get um get going again so I fair play to him but yeah good that it didn't really cost us and we're not here ranting and mouring about it but it's one of these things many times that would do it a couple of year ago when VR came out Celtic won a game but we were still criticizing it because some of the calls Were ltic Us what I would say is there's been a number of of decisions early in the season Celtic games other games where um I think potential penalties have not been given and in general I've not got a massive issue with that the the threshold for a penalty kick is clearly a bit higher this season I would just say we should keep an eye on that H going forward when maybe maybe certain teams and and stuff like that are have I have I made this cryptic enough talking about I was about to say it's actually like a Brandon pressor there just be careful what wish for not that that reminded me of remember when Brandon last season what was what was his part certain teams don't get them as we know I it's I just think I just think it's going to be interesting going forward I just hope that this High Bar for a penalty kick is is kept consistent throughout the season I'm I'm just I'm I'm loving watching Celtic at the moment but uh we've still got a big now what is it it's kind of five in a bit days now Stevie and it's going to be a hectic few days get the Champions League draw in Thursday we've got a big Derby on Sunday we've got the transfer window closing we need uh we need several players to come in um and that that has to happen doesn't it I mean we we we can't be looking at games like today and and thinking oh you know this team could be doing it in the Champions League like we do we need to strengthen in a number of areas I think to be fair Rogers realizes that but realizing it is one thing the club need to back him and get these players in definitely the fans the fans know it the fans know that today is but all for a successful Celtics season the manager any staff not but the worrying thing is the people are employed above the manager you know you have to know what they're thinking where the Ambitions line do they see today is going do you know what this team are good enough to win the league will probably even get a TR with how good we played today or what would they actually factor in that the fact that there's going to be the games in the Champions League there's going to be eight of them in this squad as good as they are as good as that team we saw today when it comes to and we saw last season as well when we started picking up for when you start playing in the Champions League and you've got the league game after it in a Saturday tiredness will kick in those games in the Tuesday Wednesdays take a lot out of the Celtic side um because you know as much as we like to think it we're not at the elite level of other clubs in Europe where they can cope with that so easily and they have got a squad and they've got a bench just as talented basically back up the team that are playing in um midweek in the Champions League so yeah Celtic definitely need to invest in quality need to invest in quite a few areas of the park we've been on about it plenty on the channel I'm sure we'll probably talk about it next week too but I the squad depth um basically needs to be improved upon and it's now all eyes on the club and making sure that they back the manager CU he's went on about it as much as we have on here basically and that's what that's what Celtic need to focus on we need to basically get thinking that this is all right when days like the day and everything's all good but later on in the season we're going to drop some points it's inevitable after we' playing in the Champions League and it's taking so much out so we need to make sure that we've got a squad that can cope um against the best in Europe and then cope we making sure the demands that are the three points on a Saturday which I think is realistic and fair game when you've got the resources that we have uh in Scottish Football compared to everyone else yeah the clock is ticking quite literally behind Stevie yeah see what I did there it's h what are we just qu quarter to 3: I must make it quarter to yeah quter to 12 here so I think we should around out I know you've got plans this afternoon I plan on getting to my bed at some stage so we should
