rolling that's when they become the winning baseball team that we demand you know what's happening here I'm starting to even buy into some random players meaning who doesn't get Juiced off for Ruiz taking the mound right now and I've recently mentioned kiring too getting on my radar I've taken a bit longer to get on the Orion train I know a lot of fans have been talking a bunch about his greatness for a while but I don't know I was always uncomfortable well it's definitely trending in the right direction for kirking and if you're gonna add Ruiz into the mix as well some fire some arrogance listen right now with the way the team is desperately trying to find itself show me some personality damn it because reality is majority of the time that I see any sort of Personality it's ped from Alec B who remember had an opportunity in the first to get to Justin berlander early and this man runs through first Pace grounds out into a double play and does the helmet toss it reminds me of Happy Gilmore here comes the butter throw oh he contained himself that's what Tom McCarthy and kooky hopefully one day will say about the bow minator made some pretty solid remarkable defensive attempts out there to be fair so we're obviously going to study if the offense is ruining the defense or if he's going to take his inability to produce offensively into the field with him we're not there we're not there but for whatever reason it does irritate me when he cries but I digress ainola was no joke I was thinking about this during his start today I don't know how this is going to end and if we do end up getting a World Series Championship out of this core that we currently are going to war with then obviously he goes down as one of the greatest ever but I was kind of just throwing this around in my mind of let's say hypothetically it makes me sick that I even bring this up but I'd be lying if I pretended it didn't so what would Aaron Nola's Legacy be if this group never won they failed but he throws over 200 Innings and gives you however many more years of this I mean he signed a fat deal what if we get this for the rest of his contract 200 Innings not nonstop dude's a Workhorse man when you see how others can't do a damn thing after they get to 13 Innings 140 Innings they hit a massive wall yes there are absolutely things that upset all of us about the Aeron NOA experience home runs being the number one thing but all he does is take the ball a billion times every year and throw a ridiculous amount of innings it's all he does and by the way he gives you seven scoreless against the Houston te this was a big game I needed a series win Taiwan Walker gets the ball tomorrow now I have no idea what Taiwan Walker's going to bring who knows the Phillies may actually be feeling themselves so well right now that they could potentially even find a way to grab a dub in a night where he starts it is possible I don't want to go too crazy but right now it's a big unknown so Nola start in my eyes was essentially for the series because I can't trust Taiwan and he went out there and pitched a masterpiece this was the [ __ ] Mona Lisa it's a little aggressive it's probably nowhere close to the Mona Lisa it wasn't a nine ining complete game shudy but it was a Lethal Performance and whenever he did get into trouble and a few guys had a single don't worry about it we'll get some line outs we'll get some fly outs he threw what maybe 102 pitches in his seven Innings just super sharp so I guess my point when I was talking about you know just what is his legacy it's one of those where I get the frustration with him trust me I I really was one of one of you and I'm talking to the haters I was one of you earlier in his career once we started to see the postseason though I recognized that he does have big stones and arinola can't go I don't want to say unnoticed but don't take it for granted because Aaron Nola's career it's special the longevity of it if it projects out to what I Envision it projecting out to be the way he demands the ball he's healthy he's available for you he throws so many innings it's not normal to have that type of longevity that type of Health that type of career with one organization and that's okay to notice even through the disappointing starts that has sprinkled in the really strong ones for whatever it's worth all right so when they got the extra run in the seventh cuz it was stuck on four nothing for a long ass time about four Innings or so you got the weird bleeder blooper where there were three Ash R collapsing it reminded me of football you got a safety you got a linebacker you got maybe another linebacker they're all crashing in to try and make a play and the ball just drops right in there they didn't even need it to be fair definitely didn't need it because there was no way this Houston team was winning on this night I thought the team once again backto back team oriented win starter Bullpen Bravo offense your power hitter demolished one how many times have we seen a pitch that should have been crucified and instead we're talking about how it was just missed that wasn't Nick and Nick has been insane I mean Nick has been what wild it's not the overwhelming amount of like power hitting but all around the way that he's been seeing the ball and even getting an RBI single or continuing to to to pass pass it to the next guy earn a walk I mean outside of swinging at the first pitch I guess here's sort of what it is right for all the flaws with arinola you still look at the greatness and how it outweighs the negatives with Nick ctios the negative is this dude's got to swing at the first [ __ ] he's got to hack at it I mean he wants to 99% of the time so it gets annoying but outside of that single up the middle scores a run three run Jack doubles to start an inning you name it you name it he has been incredible and a huge reason why they've been somewhat turning the tide is Nick and his leadership which is very unique he's got one hell of an interesting personality but when he shows up to the ballpark every single day he knows his name is going to be written in the lineup no doubt about it no off days he shows up he competes and I thought he said something pretty interesting post game when he was getting hit with the water from the daycare and it was just about the only thing you could really control and I'm paraphrasing a little bit but what you can't control is the preparation and if you you prepare the right way every single day the results are going to be up and down because that's the nature of the game but don't sell yourself short on the way that you prepare and the reason why I think that's interesting is about three or four days ago I took a call on WIP and somebody asked me if I thought the team was doing their homework and the reason why they were having so many piss poor at bats and why they were swinging at garbage and why they were chasing so many pitches is this specific caller thought maybe they weren't doing the research and and and wasn't studying the film and I mean I I even defended the team going every time I hear Garrett stub speak about the way that he goes through what the Tendencies are from certain hitters when he's actually starting that game or even if he's not starting that game the amount of time and effort that goes into what the other teams do their pros and cons is literally in Ane just because they're not excelling and executing doesn't mean that they're being lazy and not putting in the time to do what they need to to prepare themselves for the game they're doing a terrible job executing but not for a second do I doubt that Kyle schwarber isn't absorbing information on the pitcher that's starting that day so he can maybe have an advantage in the Batters box I'm I'm not questioning the professional approach from Kyle or Trey or Bryce I may be aggravated with their inability to hit and when they go through lows and when Kyle schwarber strikes out three or four times in a game that pisses me off when it happens as consistently as it does not just a oneoff but when it's happening over a week and it's like yo again yo again another over and for five and 0 for four let's go but never would I ever think that they were half assing it behind the scenes if anything I would assume that they're almost looking into it too much it's the putting too much emphasis on yourself kind of ordeal or putting too much emphasis when you're in the batter box and you're grabbing the bat too tight and you're overthinking and it may be to the point where they got so much data that's rolling around in the noggin that they're over complicating it instead of maybe simplifying it that's the sense that I get so for whatever it's worth I thought it was pretty fascinating that Nick said that after I recently took a call that brought up maybe the way that they do attack on an off day or during the morning before an actual game they know who's on the mound are they looking at what they throw what they like to throw the the 2-1 Tendencies and all of that and I and I think yes I always thought yes City because remember there were a lot of fans thinking that this team only had the record that they had because in the beginning of the season the schedule was very weak and while I admit there were work weak there were weak teams on the schedule you can't go on that 60 plus game stretch that you went on by only playing devastating teams my point is this team can beat good teams this team went on the road and beat up Kansas City big time putting up 22 runs in two consecutive games and JT was a monster and Garrett stubs was a stud you went into their building after losing game one and set the tone for the rest of the way that's an impressive Series win and so is this so the reason why I wasn't fully buying into the Phillies were a pile of crap and only played disgusting team and that's how they got their wins it's not true it's not true they sweep the do at home I I don't want to do this and go relive what they were prior to this most recent skid because they are two totally different teams still it it's not one in the same not yet at least there is still September here to prove to us that the 700 win percentage team is still in there and I'm hoping that they can dig deep and find it and show it to us but ultimately the philes can beat good teams they can beat good teams and they just did two times s in a row and who knows there still is a chance to sweep the damn series and if they could do it with Taiwan on the mound that makes it only that much more impressive I'm not sure if we are going to get that I'm in a prove it to me and show me first because I'm sorry that exit velocity when everybody scorching a 100 milph off of you and and you're you can't find your command maybe he doesn't have command maybe that's the problem we keep discussing how he's got to find it what if he doesn't have it he hasn't had it all year long what's going on is things are evening out last year the amount of wins that he recorded made no sense he didn't pitch that well to have that ever oh man I can't wait for the playoffs that's right I forgot about no Weston Wilson now speaking of not being with somebody this Jose Alvarado thing is pretty wild so I'm just going to read off of what was translated on his Instagram story and obviously he hasn't been performing well on the field but I do think one let's get the baseball stuff aside here quickly I hope he's okay him and his family that's way more important than anything baseball related because it's kind of scary and number two when it does come to the baseball side of stuff the left-handed reliever that he is I know he hasn't been doing well but he is a major part to our postseason success the last two years without Jose Alvarado you are in a very difficult position and I don't know if they would have ever figured out how to exactly get him back on track but you are a different team with him than without him and the goal and the objective was we need to figure out something mechanically to get Jose Alvarado right and I don't know if that would have happened with the limited amount of time left maybe there's a correlation with what's going on behind the scenes and why he hasn't been able to be his true self I can't really speculate on anything out outside of the baseball stuff but this is what his Instagram story said when it was translated Lord this morning I want to thank you for your kindness off the field that would make him not be as crisp as someone that isn't dealing with stuff off the field if that all makes sense so for whatever it's worth but that is a body that is important and he's no longer here so guys are going to have to step up and I understand he's a lefty maybe Matt Strom slides in there maybe Tanner Banks has a different role although I don't really visualize them thinking that he can step up into st's role if everyone in the Lefty arm Department had to move up a slide and if Jose Alvarado was somewhere St moves up to spot I mean I guess you can make the argument that stum was ahead of Jose anyway so stum stays in his perfected role Tanner Banks just moves up or you get creative and you work with Jeff Hoffman differently and you say all right screw it I don't care if this is a right-handed pitcher and if there's a left-hander on the mound I am just G to try it out because if I remember correctly and we'll look up his splits right now Jeff Hoffman has numbers that are not that much different depending on if there is a lefty or righty in the box so if that's the case he can just go to work regardless of on what the splits are that's against righties righties are hitting 171 lefties are hitting 228 was almost 50 points higher so off the top of my head I thought the numbers would be a little bit closer than that because I remember doing this exercise previously maybe he's but I think it was Gregory I think what it was is they went to Gregory SoDo in a spot instead of staying with Hoffman and why I brought brought up Hoffman's numbers was the lefties vers SoDo wasn't much better than Hoffman's 228 against lefties so I just thought it was making a move just to make a move yeah lefties are hitting 258 against Gregory SoDo so Hoffman's numbers are better that's why I didn't understand it so you got to get creative I I don't know what you do Drew smiley come on Bros shut the [ __ ] up let's go back to the fruits hey bros
