Pokémon World Championships in Honolulu | Newsround

The Pokémon World Championships took place  in Hawaii's Capital Honolulu this weekend. Thousands of fans and the world's  best trainers battled it out. Junior player Harrison was competing  and he's got more on what went down. Hi I'm Harrison and I've just competed in   the junior division in the  Pokemon world championships. The Pokémon world champion is a massive  tournament where people from the trading   card game video game Pokémon go  and Pokémon unite all compete in   their separate tournaments to try to get  the title of the world's best trainer. The thing which got me interested was in primary   school when we first when I saw  my friends trading the cards and I really wanted to do it so I  went to my local card shop and I   learned how to play the game and by  playing you earn packets of cards. My favourite Pokémon is Charmander cuz he's just   so cute it runs around and he  just has so much personality oh the best part of my experience has to be  playing it's just so fun meeting the people   from all around the world like people from New  Zealand Japan who I never would have met otherwise
