fans waiting for the final season of good Omens have gotten an unfortunate update on season 3 reportedly production on the season has been paused Aid production in Scotland leaving the future of the show unclear per deadline production has been put on pause while there are discussions about possible production changes what these changes might be in particular are not clear as an Amazon spokesperson would not comment on the report the report follows the recent news that Disney had shelved a planned adaptation of Neil gaiman's 2008 title the graveyard book but in that case it was noted that the film could still potentially go back into production in the future with good Omens the series is only said to be paused at this point though some fans may still have concerns that the season could end up getting completely cancelled without an official comment from Amazon it can't be said for certain what paused good omen season 3 though it could be speculated that it's related to recent allegations made against Gaiman in a podcast series released by tortoise media earlier this summer titled Master the allegations against Neil Gaiman for women accused the Sandman author of sexual misconduct Gaiman dismissed the allegations in a public response claiming he was disturbed by what he'd been accused of Neil Gaiman is heavily involved with the good omen series good Omens is based on Gaiman and Terry pratchett's good Omens the nice and accurate Prophecies of Angie's Nutter which Gaiman was also heavily involved with the live action series adaptation serving as showrunner writer and executive producer the show features an ensemble cast that includes Michael Sheen David Tenant Sam Taylor buuck and John Ham the first season premiered in 2019 and season 2 debuted in 2023 season 3 was announced in December it's still in development but obviously I'm very excited to work with David again and I love that character Sheen recently told TV Insider about the future of the show I'm very excited about it one of the extraordinary things about being a part of good Omens is the audience the fans the fandom of it you have to take it very seriously because people get really affected by it and seeing how people reacted to the end of season 2 was extraordinary so yeah I hope and I'm sure that season 3 will be a satisfying experience for everyone though the final season of good Omens is on pause another major game and adaptation will soon have new content coming Netflix's the Sandman is expected to be featured at the upcoming geeked week celebration to preview the upcoming second season of the series
