Canelo veranga just finished obviously Canelo W wins the fight unanimous decision what are your thoughts on it though so respect to both uh for a good show um and respect to banga who I think probably surprised a lot of people with his competitiveness and his uh will to be in the fight and try to win obviously he doesn't have anywhere near the craft and experience uh and resourcefulness that Canelo has I I expected that if it went the distance Canelo would win every round I think he basically did uh but at by the end of the fight I think we can see that Canelo was a banga fan uh he appreciated that the kid stood up to him competed as hard as he could made it very entertaining there you go did you said you know banga surprised many people did he surprise you Jim the first thing that surprised me about banga was when they got into the ring I was a little surprised to see how much bigger he is than uh than Canelo and uh I thought for a few seconds there maybe I'm wrong in having told people that banga has no chance uh because uh the one kind of the style with which you're never going to beat Canelo is as a straight ahead power puncher uhhuh but as it turns out banga is a straight ahead power puncher tried as hard as he could to land something big that's not how you beat Canelo Alvarez and and never will be uh even if prang was a lot better he would not beat Canelo Alvarez fighting in that style there you go now each guy path forward Canelo he can potentially fight ball if he so chooses and ball would be interested or the winner of the ball better BF fight um you know his mandatory one of his newer mandatories is going to end up being Caleb plant there's Terrence Bud Crawford what does he do Jim what do you think is the aside from the obvious which is benv well canelo's already made it clear that he thinks Crawford is too small for him maybe if Crawford crawls up another 6 lb from 154 to 160 and looks more impressive than he did against madok maybe he can get Canelo interested in the fight I'd probably rather see at this point a rematch with Caleb plant than uh than that fight but that you know the bottom line is Canelo is thwarting the will of the public at this moment if he continues to resist the David benas fight what the public wants to see is the Benitas fight and you've already heard me say that straight ahead power puncher is not going to beat Canelo a power puncher with some craft power puncher with some creativity uh and a power puncher with really remarkable power might have a chance that's Benitas there you go now veranga uh going forward could we see him in a fight you know maybe with Caleb plant I mean there you know no I got the I got the ideal uh opponent for banga and that's mongia mongia people like to see Mexicans against Puerto Ricans backto back Mexico Puerto Rico for belanga Mia is a a much better matchup for banga than uh Canelo Mia doesn't have sophistication the craft the variety that Canelo has uh he'll go in and Fight Fire with Fire uh they'll both land some big shots to be a great fight to watch who do you think would win that fight franga is so strong I don't know I mean I I I want to say that I would pick M because of his greater experience and his probably higher craft level but banga showed us tonight he's a bull uh and and a big strong bull uh and I think he'll get better off of the experience he had with Canelo pick him fight there you go there you go two other fights on the card just want to talk to you about briefly kayb plant Trevor mccum what were your thoughts on that fight and what do you think is next for Caleb I thought Caleb plant fought a great fight tonight he's in against a guy who had strength and power uh he out him and outfought him uh showed a lot of class I you know it's not enough for me to think that in a rematch Caleb would beat Canelo Alvarez Canelo is still Canelo but I'd like to see Caleb against a good opponent were you surprised by MC's performance yes yeah yeah I think a lot of us were right how about mcum versus banga maybe you never know do do you think that would be a fight we could see mcum against banga is a very interesting matchup yeah for sure cuz banga is even stronger than mcy yeah immediate thoughts are reac to the Danny Garcia fight against L the way it ended and what's next for Danny uh I think what's next for Danny is retirement uh he he you know looked um in trouble from the beginning and uh you know the way his father stepped in to uh pretty much yank him from the fight suggest that he saw something in training that made him realize that he wasn't really ready for the fight and you know Lara was going to win it one way or the other uh I think Danny's done yeah yeah unfortunately I think that may be the case but I I guess we'll see in the near future last question for good gutty fighter lasted a long time got a lot out of his career yeah for sure for sure and definitely a fan favorite um Jim just last question for you tank Tio you know that they're both available right now there's Whispers of tank having a potential November or December fight here in Las Vegas uh Tio's called him out yesterday he said he wants tank he's available he'd love to do the fight if that were to happen what are your thoughts on that fight how do you see it playing out tank Davis is an assassin Stone Cold assassin with tremendous punching power and pick him against anybody in that weight class I don't think there's any more that you can say you heard it from Jim himself hopefully get the fight thank you Jim
