From next month, the delivery of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments will change

from next month the delivery of personal Independence payment pip assessments and work capability assessments WCA will undergo changes for residents of England Wales and Northern Ireland these changes exclude Scotland where pip recipients will transition to adult disability payment ADP by the end of the following year currently wcas are managed by Maximus while pip assessments are conducted by AOS IAS and capita with AOS holding the majority of pip contracts the department for work and pensions DWP has established new contracts for regional assessments to be effective from 2024 to 2029 the forthcoming functional Assessment Services contracts will consolidate the PIP and WCA assessments meaning one company will handle both types of Assessments within each Regional area this shift is part of the health transformation program which aims to streamline the assessment process with a unified approach for all benefits requiring a Functional Health assessment
