okay well pitch pipes and vocal cord cords are getting a Gold Coast workout the famous glitter strip is a stage for hundreds of participants in the Barber Shop Harmony Festival it's a beautiful blend of national championship competitions and popup street performances to entertain passes by and one of those competitors is Jacob Reed who joins us now along with the rest of his cast Kate Aaron and Ryan morning to you all Jacob good morning looks a little different than what we're used to seeing you're all under 25 and you're two sets of siblings how unusual is that yeah that's um it's actually surprisingly not that unusual in Barber Shop you get a lot of family groups it's a great activity to do with your family and Neil bickering mon well we don't know that is there any bickering do you bicker do you bicker what's your position on bickering uh there might be a little bit of that going on rather than rehearsing some sometimes but we managed to get back to it eventually so we've got Two Brothers Two Sisters what about just the age of you all you're all under 25 is that unusual with a barber shop CES yeah we're we're definitely on the youngest side so Kate is our youngest she's 20 then we've got eron's 22 I'm 23 and then Ryan's 25 so he's our resident elder or nearly 25 and you are all just so damn excellent at what you do your magnificent voices tell us about last night's finals so we competed in the semi-finals the day before and then we qualified to get into the finals uh so the finals is the big night with the top 12 quartets from around Australia um so we got to compete with another two songs there um and we were fortunate enough to come away with uh fifth place in the overall competition which we were super psyched about well done and then first place in the youth division oh how brilliant and um you've got a real treat for us this morning you're you're going to sing something for us on weekend sunrise cannot wait absolutely take it away no wordss singing [Music] time sunrise from now on from now on the Sun from now [Music] amazing
