Traxxas X-maxx!! Will I keep it or kick it down the road!!! The struggle is real!!!

have you guys ever had an RC that made you kind of nervous to run because you think every time you play with it you're going to break something I dropped $1,100 on this xmax I'd really like to get my $1,100 out of it so that's just the the asking price I've also put one set of speed gears that did come with the truck and two sets of $45 harden steel gears and they melted like butter my question for you guys is how much are you willing to take before you cut ties with the RC and you trade it in sell it not to your buddy I hope cuz it's a piece of junk but you know let somebody else have fun with it for a little while we're going to take the xmax out this I don't have any jumps right now so as it is is ripping back and forth in the dirt Big old tires if it runs for me does what I want it to do we're going to give it another shot if it don't bye-bye all right we're running guys see if these gears [Music] last tell you what man when this thing does run it's a beast let me ask you guys something do you guys have a a RC that actually like made you feel like how I'm feeling with this one as far as like and why do I keep saying like anyways have you guys ever had an RC that made you kind of nervous to run because you think every time you play with it you're going to break something like every single time or am I just the only one I I love this truck I want this truck to work out I really do this was my dream truck for a lot of years a lot of years but I could never pull the trigger on the price it was just too much well the Stars aligned and I finally did and I had some fun with it don't get me wrong that unboxing video man I had a lot of fun with this truck but ever since then it's led me down so much I just want it to work man and I don't generally give up easy but there's only so much money I'm willing to invest in something that I've already spent a ton of money on before it's time to just cut ties oh she's coming at me [Laughter] yeah I tell you what man I've had a lot of close calls since I started this channel but ain't nothing been as scary as having an xmax come at you these things are dangerous pure and simple man you need a good wide open area oh screw them rocks yeah you need a wide open area with this guy this is right now probably the third longest amount of time I've been able to play with this truck without it breaking now I probably cursed it it's probably going to break on me now or I'm going to run into a tree but [Music] I really hope not oh big old Bera I tell you what them sludgehammer tires man they are so aggressive looking I love it look at the meats man this thing will dig it'll also kick a lot of rocks on you if you're not careful so I'm backing up on this one oh it's mean I love it I really got to stop aiming for those rockso Power Man scary but I'm digging it I could definitely see why people love this truck so much it's a whole different feel from any of the other trucks that I've run just the pure weight and it's so weird because you know you're not sitting in the vehicle but yet when you control it you feel the weight of this truck it's insane that's why I'm trying to slow on these turns cuz I know she's going to roll I got to be careful there's some big rocks down that way Mojave learned that lesson earlier oh damn rocks are good manad make sure I don't hit my real truck uh-oh think we have problems maybe [Music] uh I don't know if it's gears or what I'm hearing so big and bulky what do you guys think did it hear my please did it want to stay as part of my stable I hope so oh nope there went the gears well guys another set of Gears thought we were having a good time with that one too man I was having fun ripping it up and down I mean even without jumps I was having a blast man but you can only handle so much disappointment and uh yeah I don't have the time patience or the money to just keep pouring into this thing man I've got other rigs that I'd rather spend my time with spend my money on unfortunately that's probably the last time you're going to see this particular xmax on the show oh well on to the next thing thanks for watching all right we'll see you next time all right guys now that I've calmed down a little bit I'm not so emotional I've decided I'm going to keep the xmax I mean I've wanted this truck for too long I want it to work right and I'm willing to do what it takes to make that happen I went on the forums and stuff like that and everybody's telling me put mod 1.5 gears in this truck the downside to mod 1.5 is um the standard shaft size on the motor for the xmax is is a five bore uh most mod 1.5s are eight boore and that's why people put like Max 5 systems and things like that on there well GPM makes um a 1.5 mod set of Gears that will fit the stock motor so I went ahead and ordered a set of those we're going to put those in we're going to see what happens hopefully good things happen and this thing will stay running because I really really like this truck so but we'll give that a shot I'll get you guys updated on another video and uh wish me luck all right I'll see you in the next video guys later [Music]
