A Walk in the Woods ... and 8 Strand Over 2 Crown Sennit Tutorial

hey everybody welcome back to trivette nuts i'm john this is going to be a quick tutorial on how to tie eight strand over to crown senate with a core and some comments while i'm walking around in the woods i hope you enjoy it so it's been raining for three days and uh finally stopped this afternoon and i decided to drive out here to these beautiful trails and go for a walk i'll share it with you you know about a year ago when i first started getting serious about tying knots and then ultimately ended up doing this channel thing i had no idea that the interest it might generate not that this is a big channel or anything i mean like 600 subscribers thus far and i really appreciate every single one of you just sharing my experience as i learn how to do this better and uh i appreciate the interest i really do i mean i cannot emphasize enough what it means to me that there are those who are interested in and what i'm doing because i sure enjoy sharing it whenever i have asked for help reached out to somebody in the notting community for help on how to do something no questions asked received immediate assistance in whatever form or referral to somebody who could help this is a great community it really is those people who are willing to and want to share what they know with others no trade secrets no uh hidden agendas it's all about sharing this thing that we enjoy so much i think it's awesome this showing the light is over to crowning over a rope core this is 3 8 inch braided rope that i used to have as a i think it's a dock line for one of my old boats and i'm going to continue it and cover the rest of this in eight strand over to crowning and i'll be joining them with the next section of these are five foot lines in uh i think three millimeter so i got 12 inches out of five feet then i'm going to join the next section to be covered with a shroud knot and uh fortunately phil la messiriere in australia bloodnot big cartel um did a really nice tutorial on this last week so i'll put a post i mean i'll post a link and then in the description on that if you want to know how to do that shroud knot um this is a diamond knot and then you connect them together with a shroud knot with another diamond knot here anyway so what i'm going to show you now is just very simply in case you don't know how to do it um over to crowning let me grab a more easily viewable section of lines that i've kind of put together for tutorial purposes so it's eight strands and you do this one over two pin that with your thumb and then over two more [Music] over two more over two more over two and then over two now so where do you go here just like with the regular crown this is where we started so we're gonna pull that out take this over one two that goes through here and then this is going to go over this one as well and over the next one so we're going to pull that out a little bit and run through both of them and then fair it up takes a couple of go-rounds here to get it fired up properly so this especially with the smaller line is a uh kind of a long process when you're covering as much territory as i am with that piece of line that that rope i'm covering it uh is that i'm covering as the core is going to be at least 36 inches so a little ways to go on that but that's it and that's your overture crowning you
