we have a Clayton Kershaw injury update as we know Kershaw left today's ball game against the Arizona Dbacks um after giving up a home run to Corbin Carroll and everybody's wondering what's wrong with Kershaw hey this is Mike Nelson of Dodgers digest make sure to subscribe to the Channel I want to thank the almost 9% of you that have subscribed but 91% of you have not hit that subscribe button yet make sure you subscribe so you don't miss out on any big dodge news let's get right into it of course as we know Clay Kershaw left today's start um due to pain in his left big toe um that's what the Dodgers um announced basically while the game was going on we received a tweet um from the Dodgers uh mentioning that the reason why Kershaw left the game um and so quickly as uh even oral Hyer mentioned on the broadcast basically Kershaw you know almost just you know quickly got off the mound and didn't really let Dave Roberts come out and take amount he was out of the game before Roberts even had a shot to really speak to him so the daughters tweeted out that there was something wrong with his left big toe that was the initial report and then later on during Dave Roberts uh press conference we kind of got more clarification as Dave Roberts mentioned that Cay Kershaw is dealing with a bone spur in his toe um and it's been going on for a while um and and even Dave Roberts uh here's one of the quotes this is from Bob Nightingale on you know one of the MLB Insider reporters um one of Robert's quotes from tonight was I'd be shocked if we don't make an injured uh list you know injured list move or two so that's definitely concerning news to say the least if you're a Dodger fan Clan Kershaw once again injured you know it happened in a big game tonight you know arguably you know the biggest game uh for the Dodgers this year going into this game and then now the biggest win for the team as well with a 10 to n win uh but going back to Clay Kershaw was definitely a you know a struggle for him to say the least tonight um you know giving up a couple runs in the first inning you know right from the Geto you saw Kershaw was just not really comfortable um out there um even in the first inning you know the the Dodgers are very lucky that um the Dbacks didn't score more runs there because I remember the daughters took a two nothing lead such a crazy game it's hard to remember everything that happened but the daughters took a two nothing lead early and then of course the Dbacks tie up this game um with two runs in the first but the daughters are lucky that that the Dbacks don't score more runs you got remember thecar Hernandez ends up making a huge catch there a diving catch um you know in that first inning that ends up uh you know saving a lot because if that ball gets through him um you know who knows the bases might get clear there maybe maybe a two three run score and then of course uh the uh base running uh blunder uh from Bell ends up really helping out the Dodgers right because uh they also got makes a big catch there in the Outfield and then he's able to throw it to Second to double up uh Bell who was kind of lost there on the bases you know technically the Dbacks should have had first and second with two outs right had not messed up there in that tie game so the daughters definitely got fortunate there um early on and then of course in the second inning um you know gives up a you know looking at the replays now going back and kind of watching what happened it was I believe it's 67 mph curveball from uh from Kershaw you could see there wasn't much velocity on that curveball that ends up of course Corbin Carroll just you know gets out of you know hits it out of the park Corbin Carroll um was was dangerous s night except for his last of bat you know really really choked there at the end for the Dbacks but throughout the game Corbin Carroll was was was making some good swings and making some good contact and you know you can't uh negate that right ends up hitting a home run off of a clay Kershaw mistake but you know now you know why um Kershaw ends up uh throwing that pitch at such a low velocity and that's because of the bone sport a bone spur that he's dealing with um in his toe right that's what it's looking like I guess you know you're going to have to get some you have to have some lower body strength to be able to get some velocity on your pitches right and you know right now there isn't a lot of strength if you're dealing with some pain there in your left big toe not being able to uh step correctly um when you're uh pitching off the mound right so that's that's what Clay kersa is dealing with you know this video could have went what you know a couple different ways right everything kind of changed when clay Kershaw got injur prior to his injury you know you could have talked about once again Kershaw you know not coming through in the big games as a starting pitcher not having the kind of start that you're looking for you know kind of look like a pitcher out there that that frankly doesn't look like he belongs in the major leagues anymore right that's kind of what it's looking like with the clay Kershaw it goes back to the same question why the daughters decided to bring him back as a free agent at the end of last season you know still have him for this year um and has a player option for next year and it doesn't look like Kershaw's season is ending not quite yet daughters did not say his season's over but you know definitely going on the iil is a possibility but come on is Kershaw really going to be a pitcher you're going to be able to rely on come playoff time you know even when you know if we we think about it this is a Kershaw that's this is not an arm issue right I mean technically his shoulder everything with his his upper body looks like it's good dealing with a lower body injury so I mean you expect a lower body injury to to have a you know recovery right I mean you don't expect this to be a a season ending injury um you know of course at his age anything is possible but um you know if his arms okay and and you know just I don't know I I'm definitely concerned to say the least with the Dodgers starting pitching as I've talked about on this channel before there just isn't a lot there right now to really be excited about the daughters have a couple young arms and GA and Gavin Stone and of course uh Bobby Miller that you know could potentially be future Aces for this team but they're both very young both have uh you know not a lot of experience especially come playoff time so you don't know what kind of uh pitcher you're going to get from those guys come to the playoffs Kershaw is a pitcher that you know has all the experience in the world has everything go in his favor when when you put him out there I mean he has all the knowledge possible to face the biggest hitters the best hitters in the game right he has all that knowledge uh that a lot of other you know young players don't have that's what kers Shaw has right so um you know with him not being 100% and not being at the level um that you hope him to be is is concerning right CU you wish that he was at a higher you know level right now you wish that he was completely healthy wasn't dealing with the bone spur uh was uh you know pitching at a high level so that way the daughters could say well let's bring out Kershaw as our you know number two number three guy right especially with the glass now and Yamamoto um situations kind of up in the area yot looks like he's coming back soon glass now still a question mark Jack flare is now a reliable pitcher for the daughters so you know now you could throw off Kershaw there as well to be that number two number three guy I'm not saying he would have been number one if he was completely healthy uh because at this age but come on number two number three in the playoffs sure I'll take that Kershaw The Experience although you know the tough playoff numbers but you would take that and now with this injury you just wonder if he's going to even be healthy enough to be um on the playoff roster or if he's even still able to pitch at the major leagues at the level that I'm talking about right you know at the level where he's able to go five six Innings um at his age with all his injury concerns and now dealing with a with a bone spur um in his toe right so just just some serious some bad news to say the least for the Dodgers but in all that you know the Dodgers got a big win showy Otani was a hero once again uh 10 to n Win what a wild game to say the least for the Dodgers you know take a look at the offense it was a as we know an offensive explosion tonight for the Dodgers scoring 10 runs on a Dbacks team that a lot of people thought had great pitching that's all that's all we heard about all week long right the dbox Dbacks got a lot of great pitching um you know they they they're going to be tough on the daughters well tonight they didn't have they had no answer for basically anybody in the daughters lineup the daughters had their way with the Dbacks pitchers um you know everybody contributed tonight um you know outside of uh you know Kik Hernandez I believe he's the only one that did not actually him and Mookie Betts are the only two that didn't get any hits tonight um but everybody else you know contributed one or two hits and of course show you know Will Smith at the you know the first the daughters take a 65 lead on a wild pitch from Manti I think you're pronounce I think I'm pronouncing that right Manti a reliever from the uh Dbacks throws a wild pitch Dodgers take a 65 lead and then of course Will Smith tacks on a three-run homer that kind of bumps up that lead right and then you're thinking okay the Dodgers are are in business right a nine to five lead and then guess what Otani hits his 43rd home run of the Season he's now the first player to have 43 home runs and 43 stolen bases he's in the 4343 Club um and yeah guess what that was a winning run because it was 10 to five at the time you know you're kind of watching this you're thinking you know okay great you know you're you're happy for Otani but you're kind of thinking this should not um you know make a difference in tonight's game right the Dodgers got this it's 10 to five well guess what I mean the Dodgers pitching is still a concern unfortunately you know take a look at the Bullpen even Michael copc came in you know I want to you know of course you got to commend Joe Kelly who had his longest start um as a bullpen pitcher he threw the most pitches today um actually as a bullpen pitcher ever in Joe Kelly's career um believe the last time you know the I think they were talking on the broadcast the last time he threw this amount of pitches was when he was still a starting pitcher so great job for Joe Kelly uh but you know everybody you know vessia was was pretty good as well but Michael copc a little surprising you walked batter there were some people on when he was when he you know you kind of saw some struggles where Michael cope gets through it but you know we haven't really seen that for Michael copc he's been kind of you know lights out no issues tonight ran into some problems everybody was running into problems that Dbacks had Runners on basically in every inning basically had runners in scoring position in almost every inning and then of course it's been now noted Anthony Bond gives up four runs in the ninth inning and almost blows this game um the daughters only you know went 10 to n of course they they bumped this up to a five-game lead um you know that's that's important as that's important thing but think about it the Otani home run that was technically during garbage time ends up being a winning run which is absolutely crazy you know with the four runs given up in the ninth inning that is not good to see at all if you're a Dodger fan that the Dodgers still have problems with the bullpen sure bond was pitching in his third consecutive game they they noted that as well on the broadcast tonight that you know bonda was was tired right I mean it's hard to pitch three days in a row and of course the daughters were up against it tonight with the clay with Clay Kershaw exiting the game in the in the second inning right I mean what are you going to do Kershaw was supposed to go at least four or five innings that's what you hope only made it through one inning tonight you know had to had to leave in the second so the bullpen was definitely taxed and now they got to play three more games against this team and you know what's good about tonight's win is guess what it guarantees the Dodgers will have a lead at the end of this series right no matter what even the daughters lose the next three games they're still going to have a two game lead on the uh Dbacks um you know at the end of the series right there's no there's no if and if and what what would you say if and W or I don't know I forgot the say but there's no doubt about it that the Dodgers are going to have a uh you know a lead on the Dbacks um at the end of the series right there's no doubt about it even the Dodgers lose the next three games um they were going to have a two game lead if that happens right on the Dbacks they're up five right now and if they were to just win two out of the next three I actually they they they will just win one of the next three they'll have a four game Le basically kind of where everything started so winning two out of four is not a bad thing for the daughters you know having a four game lead this late in the year is pretty good especially when you're the Dodgers considering what a great team they are so not a not a bad thing if they don't win all four if they only went two winning all four would be huge that would basically put the Dbacks out of at least in my opinion it would put them out of any possibility but um you know we'll see what happens with that um it's it's a long way to go um you know with with in that situation you know that the Dodgers still have to you know win you know play these next three games but winning winning these next few games would really you know put the Dbacks in a tough situation to say the least um because it would be now you know eight back with just a little over 20 games to go so like I mentioned at the beginning of the broadcast make sure to subscribe to the channel we got a lot of content all weekend long and let's go Dodgers
