is this season any different for you going into a final of contract obviously you talked about the past you know back side of things you taking it as the same approach same approach as every year right like um we got a couple days here to kind of recharge the body uh in the mine and then and then everything's obviously on to Cleveland for next week so same approach I've always had going into a year what you like Co so yeah you know he's really strong powerful guy at the point of attack uh he's a smart guy and and he works his tail off right like ever since he got here um whether it be snapping IDM defenses um he's put a lot of time into it and he's continued to get better each week how much of the young guys lean on you at this time of the year because the season's about to start obviously Camp has just ended yeah how much do they talk to you about what's next yeah I think uh coach lari does a really good job of um you know really having an open dialogue in our meeting room and and uh you know allowing those young guys to ask questions and and spending time in the meetings um on that kind of stuff cuz it's so important right getting ready not only your body but your mind for uh for the for the long season I'm hump man I'm juice I uh you know anytime after training camp especially like a month out in California you're just ready to get after it and get and start playing games so um you know with 88 back it's like we got all our pieces back and it's going to be fun to go out there as a unit and and start this uh Journey off is there a different level of urgency this year with so much Unknown about next year I think the urgency is the same man like we we want to go out there we want to win every game and uh you know right now um Cleveland is there and that's what we're focusing on but um I wouldn't say there's there's a crazy amount of different urgency before this season than other Seasons what's it say for your run game when you got a four Time pro bowler likein cook on the practice squad ready to yeah all those guys I mean we really have a u you know I'm excited to watch all those guys run obviously cook and Zeke U everyone knows what they can do and it'll be great but um you know the other guys Rico and and Deuce and um you know we get to see those guys every single day and and excited to see the rest of the league see those guys and how they attack the game obviously a lot of talk about B and Tyler these rookies coming in but ter Ste looks more comfortable more confident body what do you see ter yeah I think you know with Terrence I think people forget that he's last year he's coming off of a serious knee injury and the fact I think he was the only guy on our line that started in every single game last year which is I mean credit him but it's is pretty incredible so uh I think you just see a comfort level right he's feeling good uh he's had he's had a year and a half with uh to get that knee completely right and um he's got a lot of confidence on the edge that that right tackle position has it better player can you ever remember so much talk about the business of of the sport around here because it's about you the CD Dak and you ever remember a time where man all we're talking about your contracts and those kinds of things I feel like kind of every year that's just how the NFL works these days days right like everyone wants uh everyone wants the deals and that's just how it works right I mean it's the nature of the business and I think it's um you know the teams and the groups that have the most success are the guys that um you know have to go through that but can put that aside and and really focus on what's important and what matters and um you know now that's the Cleveland Browns why do you think that's been why do you think you guys have been able to like lock that out to move forward I mean it's stuff we harp on all the time right block out the noise um you know obviously being in Dallas we got a lot of that and and it's it's a skill to be able to to block on block that out and you know focus on the task in hand Tyler and Cooper look like they progressed pretty quickly this offseason how do you think they did that well I mean first they're they're both extremely talented right and and they both have the right attitude um you know they they they take their craft seriously and they come out and they work and um they take the coaching but uh you know first and foremost as the guys are talented players you're going to be able to help us a lot this year what do you remember about defense yeah is yeah I think uh obviously anytime you get a little extra time now it um with the preseason and how it is now not a lot of guys are playing so there there are some unknowns right but they got a lot of their defensive guys back from last year so there's a ton of good tape and then obviously for the older guys on the roster um you know we had we went against Schwarz for for years there in Philadelphia and there's a lot of similarities uh with the structure and how they play up front front um but yeah they got they got a lot of the same guys back they've added some good pieces but uh the majority of that defense is coming back does he do more things F pressures different looks disis yeah he he brings a little bit of everything but I think when you when you put the tape on they every defense that I've played that he's coached they play a certain type of way up front and and you see that on the tape I mean when he was in Philly they played a certain way and when you turn on Cleveland it definitely reminds you of how they you know got out got off the ball and penetrated those gaps up front what do you remember about your Rie year that you can help communicate to Cooper and Tyler as far as what to expect in year one I I would just say man put your head down and and and and grind really it's a long season it's going to it's going to feel long right I mean no surprise when you're a rookie you play your college season go straight into the combine prep and then you're right right into it so um you know there's a lot at the end of the tunnel but right now it's time to put your head down and and grind you're up in Fighting Irish you just getting the head ready for S I am yeah big one in agie land and uh I'm excited we got a couple agies on the team so it be it be a good one yeah I'm not going no no no I'm not I was thinking about it but we were gone for a month I want to I want to just hang with the with the fam a little bit talk to Donovan or buddy oh yeah yeah yeah yep we I did and it would be a fun I've always wanted to go to A&M stadium so a little bummed about that but it' be good just kind of relax as weend this is probably the only time where you can kind of decompress cuz you at camp for a long time yeah it's a long time but you know I think there was a reason why we were out there right I mean coach wanted to be out there the the weather's great we were able to get some great practices a lot of reps and uh that's just going to help us in the long run but anytime you're away for a month I mean you guys are out there uh staying in a hotel for a month is it gets long but it's definitely feels good to be back in Dallas thank you sir appr all right
