All games are important. And when you're talking the final 33 games of the season, the importance even grows larger. The Mariners have a chance for a series win today. Maybe the easiest way to bounce back from a tough loss is give the ball to a guy like Blake. So it's amazing. He grew up here watching the Mariners. It's only the second time in his long big league career that he's had a chance to pitch in his home town and he's pitched great when he comes home. There's that magic of being at home and the pitcher hunter that the Giants will face very good one. The right hander George Kirby, the strike throwing right hander 150 innings and two thirds. He's got 148 strikeouts but just 19 walks. Fitzgerald will lead having a good year hitting 300. He bunts and that might work a little check. B and no chance for the third baseman more to get him. Tyler Fitzgerald is aboard with a leadoff bunt single that will bring up first baseman Lamonte Wade Jr swing and a miss got him swing right over the top hitting just 231 off of his slider. So Elliott Ramos hit by a pitch and that's as good of a walk as you'll ever see that. He earned that walk. He battled him, made him throw, everything saw it all. And now they're going to put Kirby in some high stress right out the gate. So here comes Matt Chapman, the Giants have the bases loaded with one out. Rosa Rena charging diving, He made the catch and he hurt himself too. Tagging at third is Fitzgerald, he'll score and Rosa Re is down or if he knocked the wind out of himself, I hope it's no more than that. I'm with you pretty good job. Good route effort. I've been there. I know you've been there. I'm hoping that's what it is. Just got the wind knocked out. Fortunately, he's up on his feet. He looks a lot better now than he did a couple of minutes ago. He's smiling, holding his side a little bit. That was a tremendous catch, tough two outs, a run in runners at first and second. Now the 2 to 0 pitch swing and a line drive in, it's going to be caught on the run by shortstop Leo rev, great catch by randy Ros Arena and a nice running catch by Leo. Now, back home where he grew up , the guy who hunter I think is throwing the ball better than anybody else in the game. 76 innings. So far 101 strikeouts. Good to have victor Robles back in the leadoff spot. He's a for five against Blake Snell on his hand. It two injuries. You're not happy about it. No, no. Let's see. Totally index finger. He's got to leave the game. That is a bad, bad sign right there for the Mariners. Mariners just got him back. So hopefully Victor is all right. Somebody has got to come out and finish the at bat. Braley been in the leadoff spot last few games. He went 2 to 3 last night, knocked in two runs out to left center mcrae. But it's a diving catch Conforto out of left field, Michael Conforto. Heck of a play. It's just the first inning and we're diving everywhere. So julio draws a walk and the Mariners have the time and run aboard here in the bottom of the first inning and that will bring up first baseman Justin Turner. Turner had a huge base hit last night, got him fastball at 96 for his first strikeout. And that will bring up Randy Ross Arena. That one hit to left can for that one is easy for. That was a good changeup had just enough out front that he hit it off the end of the back. But the Giants here they come again. Two on nobody out. A lot of table setting going on a lot of traffic. Let's see what Casali does against Kirby two on no outs swinging a strike needed. Now Fitzgerald, he rips that one down the left field line of Rosa can't catch this. It's a fair ball is going to come around to score. Tyler Fitzgerald took a huge turn and Then slammed on the brakes. It's 2 to 0. Giants love to see that after a tough day at the plate. How do you respond? He gets the slider that they attacked him with so much spin yesterday and not this time, two outs for Elliott Ramos on the way to Ramos swinging a fly ball to right field. Raley a little bit to his left. He is there and plunk makes the catch and Kirby gets out of the inning as the Giants get the one run, they leave two runners stranded in scoring position, one run on three base hits, two left on this much anticipated pitching matchup. Mike is not exactly sterling to this point as we play in the second inning. Both pitch counts are up. Everything has been a struggle for Lakes now that's his third walk already. Not an easy guy to take advantage of, but try to do that here against now with two walks this inning and here comes Mitch Garber walked the bases loaded. He took an opportunity, good guy to have come to the plate. He's swinging a hot bat, Leo Rivas, one of the hottest hitters of this ball club. The past week he went with the curve and he got the swing and miss home plate umpire made the call himself. Two down. Raley will come up and the pitch from Snell lost it on the board. Scoring is Polanco four walks in the innings. It's not cy young material and price is going to come out give Snell a little breather right here because this is a taxing inning and now he's got to take a look at julio Rodriguez with the bases full. It is a ball game with the bases loaded to sort of taking advantage Moore scores. Hopefully he can bear down, find a way to get Justin and get back in there. Catch his breath. Here it comes, curveball, struck him out. He made it look so simple there. Five walks in the inning, two runs scored not been an easy day in terms of efficiency for either starter in this game, Mariners two and the Giants too , two outs 1st and 2nd. Top of the third inning right at the shortstop. Neova two men are left stranded a scoreless third from Kirby as we go to the bottom of the third , we're all tied at two and Blake's now will try and put things together. Here's a Rosa to lead off against him, struck him out swinging with a curveball strikeout. Number four. Here comes Mitch Hanniger curve. He went around, he just went right back to the Cy Young winner there a 123 inning with a couple of strikeouts and we hope that the ST is all right. Yeah, you get a little concerned a 40 pitch inning. It doesn't happen too often. Just caught a little hick up there. Five walks. They're going to pass the ball to Spencer. Bivens. He sat down the first two. A good start for Bivens. Now, facing Leo, there is the Mariners first base hit Leo Rivas keeps his hot hitting going. Here's Luke Raley, a high fly ball along the left of your line toward the corner and there is Conforto right next to the foul line out. Number three, good inning for Bivens. One hit. No runs on to the fifth. We go two outs that will bring up right fielder, mike that is fair down the right field line, kind of stays in along the side wall and Yaz will stand at second, a double another runner in scoring position here for the Giants in the dirt and right past the catcher and over to third goes, that's down the left field line base hit Tyrone Estrada comes through in the clutch. Yastrzemski scores and you hear all those Giants fans going nuts over it. 3 to 2 giants, Kirby and Snell, neither one long for this game. Both out Yaz with two down and nobody on. Yes. Having a good game today. That one ripped down the right field line. Yastrzemski, it's gone just over the wall. It wouldn't come down, mike Yassky, a low liner for his 10th home run of the year. It's 4 to 2 Giants. And how about that? For shortest flight out of here? I mean, that was out in the blink of an eye and he crushed it 4 to 2 Giants. It's a one out walk. The Mariners will bring the tying run to the plate in the form of Julio. Julio slicing drive deep right center field is bounces on the track into the stands. A ground rule double, Raley would have scored easily. It's still good. Nonetheless, not trying to quibble outside easy take ball four. The Mariners have loaded him up. Here comes the Rose arena on the ground is short, Fitzgerald. That's one. Estrada got him double play and wants him to look at it. I think he beat it. Yeah, he did. The fans just see Randy indicated that ball, the umpire at first that puts on it before he hits it back after the call has been overturned, the runners ball game and they put him on up to Hager slider ground ball to third Chapman throws out Hager and the Giants keep the lead. The bullpen has been huge because the unexpected early exit of Blake now who worked only three innings having thrown 74 pitches. So here is Ryan Walker, got him with the slider strike three, just devastating stuff. The command is just incredible. Look how, look how much this sweeper breaks and it is still in the strike zone and you can't hit it. And here's Julio's been boy three times on the day. Strike three, call two down, here's Justin Turner and a drop. It is aboard. That is a great A B by Justin Turner. What on? And that will bring up Randy Arose Arena more and more fans on their feet right now on the ground is short. Fitzgerald charges. Fitzgerald got him in the ball game is over and right now it's good to have Ryan walker on your side. Is he good at the moment? And he gets the Giants a much needed win for three finals.
