HIT MAN Netflix VS True Story & Ending Explained

Intro Hitman is Netflix's latest movie to be released on the platform and I certainly didn't expect it to be the enjoyable watch that it was focused on a fake Hitman called Gary Johnson who was in fact a real life person this story saw him adopt an identity that he created for an undercovered job that he was on and need to commit to it as he then fell in love with one of the people that he was trying to get on the Sting with an ending that was fictitious but a story that had a lot of truth that lied within it let's jump into the video and discuss the true story behind the real life fake hit and also Explain the ending of the film so let's get into it here is the true story behind Hitman and the ending explained just to let you know this video will contain spoilers the true Hit Man Netflix True Story story so right at the end of the movie we saw that there was a tribute PID to the real life Gary Johnson Gary Johnson was indeed a real life fake Hitman who contributed to over 70 arrests but as well as that he was a Vietnam veteran a college teacher like was depicted in the movie and also one of the chillest dudes imaginable it turned out that the murder that we saw taking place at the end to Jasper wasn't real and that was made up for dramatic effect which the credits do explicitly tell us but was the way that Gary was depicted in the movie True to the real life individual well it was actually said that Gary Johnson was known as The Lawrence Olivier on the field because his acting skills as a fake Hitman were so good and convincing that people bought into the personas that he was adopting he was well respected due to the way in which he went about getting the people to admit what their intentions were and that was something that was carried through in the movie like in the movie as well it was also said that he would research the people that it be meeting with who wanted to carry out potential hits and adjust the way that he was according to what he thought would work for them he didn't actually form a relationship with one of the people that he met with however it was said that on one of the undercover operations that he went on he met with a woman that wanted to put a hit out on her boyfriend and during that meeting he instead referred her to Social Services rather than continuing with the sting it's turned out that the woman that he met with was a victim of abuse from her husband and she was with him because she feared what would happen to her if she left him so this is something that seems like it most likely inspired the relationship that we saw being formed in the fictitious movie adaptation between Gary and badison it showed a softer side to the character and that he could see through certain situations and if people truly had a bad nature at their core judging by the way that the film depicted Gary Johnson and after researching the way that he was I feel this film served him well yeah there were fictitious elements within it which were done with a full creative license but the fact that this was a real guy was something that surprised me as we saw during the closing moments the real life Gary Johnson passed away in 2022 my review of the movie I thought Hit Man Netflix Review this was actually a really good movie it's kind of got a good blend of not taking itself too seriously but it's got some great acting a solid story and it shot quite nicely too yeah there are some cringe moments in there which you do get with comedies but because the story is actually quite good it doesn't feel out of place it's just a really fun time that actually has some creative elements within it personally I loved being able to hear inside of Gary's head as it allowed the comedic moments to really shine in a situation where somebody is completely out of their depth hearing what was going on in his mind and registering when he needed to switch between Ron and Gary were moments that allowed us to get to understand the character even more I felt like I truly knew Gary because we got that deeper insight into what he was thinking all of the different personalities that he adopted the different costumes and the different voices that he put on was so good to see as well Glen Powell was really good at channeling them all and then switching back to good old regular Gary one scene that I did really like in this movie was one of the first ones where he met with the guy in the Dino and was arranging the first hit seeing the DraStic switching character between Gary and the Hitman was something that took me by surprise and the scene played out in a real rhythmic way he didn't know if he was going to be out of his depth or if he was going to mess up so it had us on the edge of our seat the conversation really drove that scene and Glen pal delivered I don't feel like there was any sense of deeper meaning to the movie and it very much felt like it was leaning into the whole thing about just being yourself and that it's okay to change as time goes on and with one of the final lines being if the universe isn't fixed then neither are you it doesn't really pack a punch but I don't think it needs to because the movie in itself doesn't take itself too seriously it's not often that films that don't take themselves too seriously end up being that good but in this instance it absolutely shines to be honest all of the main cast delivered strong performances in this movie from the chemistry between poell and Arjona to the side characters that were down at the police station each actor knew their role in this movie and the purpose that it served and I was impressed by it there was no bad performance per se honestly if you throw this on on a Friday night you're not going to regret it it's a good laugh the runtime is perfect and the acting is really good you won't be laughing out loud but you'll be laughing to yourself for certain it's a win for Netflix here something they've not had in a long while so be sure to give this one a watch the ending explained so when it Hit Man Netflix Ending Explained came to the ending of this movie we saw that Jasper the person whose job Gary ended up getting at the start of the movie because he was suspended had actually been following Gary this whole time and he'd been seeing that Gary and Madison were in some kind of relationship with Maddy killing her ex-husband out of fear that he was going to kill her after we put a hit out on her we saw that Gary revealed himself to not be Ron and to in fact be Gary however even though he knew that she was a killer it didn't deter him in wanting to be with her and he actually helped her get off the hook when she was a number one suspect after that was a success when Gary went to see Madison that evening he saw that Jasper was waiting for him to arrive and he planned on blackmailing them for the $1 million that she was set to inherit from her husband's life insurance in order to buy his silence however when Madison got him a beer she poisoned him and rendered him unconscious from there Gary then devised a plan and he channeled his inner run and planned on making it look like Jasper had done it to himself going against what Jasper said only moments earlier where he said Gary wouldn't be able to kill anybody Gary had leaned so much into these personalities that he adopted that he pretty much became a blend of Gary and Ron in that moment killing Jasper and getting him out of the picture so that himself and Madison could be together and also something which would allow him to carry on doing the job that he enjoyed without jper disrupting it and being on his tail constantly right at the end it cut to several years later and Gary and B some were together and it seemed like Gary had found the perfect balance between Gary and Ron and adopting an identity that he finally felt comfortable with tying back to what he said in the lecture where he said how if the universe wasn't fixed then neither were people so people could change and that's something that he did we saw that they now had two children together and when one of them asked how they met they knew that they'd never be able to reveal the true story but that was fine with them because they were having fun with the people that they'd become it was a cliche ending for sure but it worked in the context of this movie Gary started out as a pretend Hitman was disgusted when Madison killed somebody but then right at the end of the movie he became a killer something he never thought he'd be so I suppose
