Gerald Meerschaert Deserves an Honorable Mention

Gerald merar is he going to do anything else big in the UFC like he's going to go towards the rankings I'm going be honest just based on how he's kind of win some lose some and he's definitely for non-ranked guys to test themselves against uh I don't think so I really don't but um what he showed is he could take a shot at this next hey and I might be completely wrong he might get a ranking like a 15 or 14 next to his name in due time but we kind of see that you know the big names the guys that are meant to be big names um are kind of using him as a doorway to get into the middleweights now this wasn't the case for tonight okay he did a really good submission but he was in danger a lot of the time and I think he kind of lucked out and played his cards right so yeah he gets a win he's still got value to the UFC and he's still going to continue to fight um however it just kind of felt like it was just playing your cards right and being in the right spot in the right time in that fight where it's like I really just think that in his next fight he's probably not going to do so well just because he's hitable he's able to be knocked down it's his submissions that you really have to work for and you're going to have the Hamot coming you're going to have the Kyle BOS coming you're going to have the Joe Pyers coming the B Nichols you could tell Bo Nicholls probably looking at Gerald mshar and he's going to want a a name to class out and if Bo nickel is able to do that to Gerald merar right if he gets him on the ground I don't think a submission is going to work on a guy like Bo Nicholl so I think that we're starting to see the tail end of Gerald merart if I'm being brutally honest just from a Fan's perspective um but I don't want to just hate I want to appreciate also because Gerald is a veteran to this game he um is a stud black belt great Grappler he's got a lot of attributes himself personally I wouldn't want to fight the dude he's scary but um you're with other scary dudes in the UFC and I think it's just showing that time's happening um he's at the he's almost at the 40 Mark um but he hasn't wasted his youth on the UFC I think he's been super relevant despite never really being up there with osna or any of those big names or Anderson Silva or anything like that not being in that picture but still having some sense of value so you know Gerald if you ever watch this by the off chance I'm not here to hate but I just want to thank you always for showing up and being part of the show you know I know a lot of people don't like participation trophies you know I know it's all about you know you got to be the champion to get the gold but um he deserves at least an honorable mention in this you know definitely an honorable mention because he has just kind of been someone that true fans of the sport have looked forward to seeing no matter where the fight goes for him whether it's like a Hamza situation where he gets knocked out in 20 seconds or a comeback situation like we saw tonight you know but yeah no I'm grateful Gerald merart is in the UFC forever peace
