Jason Kelce Teases His “Monday Night Football” Wardrobe: 'Do I Have to Wear a Suit?'

Jason Kelce the legendary former center for the Philadelphia Eagles is stepping into a new role this season as a commentator on Monday night countdown one of the most popular pregame shows in football with his Larger than Life personality and laid-back style fans are eagerly awaiting to see not just his insights on the game but also what he'll be wearing when he makes his on- air debut Kelsey who retired from the NFL after a story career has always been known for his unconventional fashion choices from flip-flops and Jorts to t-shirts and Casual Wear Kelsey's wardrobe has often been a reflection of his relaxed and down toe personality this has made him a fan favorite both on and off the field during a media day on August 28th Kelsey was asked what fans could expect from his on-air wardrobe in typical Kelsey fashion he responded with humor asking an ESPN executive do I have to wear a suit he went on to say that he doesn't usually plan his outfits far in advance adding it's tough to answer because I don't even know what I'm wearing tomorrow let alone what I'm wearing in 2 weeks Kelsey explained that there's a big difference between how he dresses when he's off duty versus when he's in a professional setting I'm very much normally when I'm not at a professional setting or something that my image as representative of another company am I worried about what I wear he shared I wear what's comfortable what I think is functional it's something that I want to put on because it's quite frankly easy to put on his affinity for flipflops he joked is mostly due to laziness as they don't require him to bend over to put on socks this laid-back approach to dressing has become a part of Kelsey's public Persona and it's something that many fans relate to and appreciate as for what he'll actually wear on Monday night countdown Kelsey remained koi teasing that it would be interesting to see how it all unfolds I'm just going to try and wear things that represent I guess what I like and what ESPN will allow me to he said leaving fans in suspense until his first appearance Kelsey officially stepped into his new role during the Disney upfront Event in May where he expressed his excitement about joining the Monday night countdown team I feel incredible he said on stage I know what it takes to be great it takes a great team I am more than psyched to participate in all the shenanigans that will take place this season with the NFL season set to kickoff on September 9th Kelsey will soon take his seat on the Monday night countdown set ready to bring his unique perspective on the game while his football analysis is sure to be a highlight his fashion choices might just steal the show fans will have to wait and see whether Kelsey sticks to his signature casual style or surprises everyone with a more polished look either way his presence on Monday night countdown is sure to be a hit
