yo what's going on guys this is Houston Sports Talk Back another video today and today the Houston Astros beat the Oakland Athletics 6 to3 and avoid being swept I'm happy the Astros get back on the win column today and improve to 78 and 68 with a win and close out this series against Oakland which was terrible with the you know the Extra Innings loss that started off this series and obviously the Astros come in short yesterday losing five to four but I actually I'm not sure if if every Astros fan is happy about this win I saw last night after the five to four loss I saw a lot of posts on uh different social media places I it I think it was just X and Tik Tok but I saw multiple posts for at least like two two two three or four different Astros fans saying that they kind of want the Astros to get swept tomorrow and the the reason why they wanted the Astros to get swept tomorrow is because they thought it would guarantee an Astros World Series this this is crazy uh Astros are done facing the Athletics this season uh but the the the reason is because the Astros got swept by the A's in 2017 they got swept by the A's in 2022 and n's won World Series in both of those seasons and I guess a couple different Astros fans were thinking if that happened again today that uh that the Astros would be guaranteed to win the World Series cuz when they get swept by the ace they win a World Series I don't that that's just ridiculous is to me um I don't I don't think this this this team's fate is going to be decided on being swept by the A's uh yeah look I think being swept by the A's in 2017 or 2022 is a lot different than 2024 so um look 2017 and the a actually weren't that bad of a team 2022 they were bad but not as bad as they are now so um you know with the Astros I'm glad they got the win but I don't think being swept by the A's would played anything to the Astros World Series chances but I did see that a couple times last night after the 5 to four loss but anyways the Astros um NS get the win six to3 it was a very very uh impressive win and now get get the win uh 12 hits for the stros seven for the Ace's um one error for the Astros win goes to Ryan Presley he's two and three in the year now he pitched in the uh he pitched in the eighth inning for the Astros and he gave it one hit one run two strikeouts one walk loss goes to McFarland he's two and three on the year now uh you know he only got one out and that one out was in the eighth inning gave it two hits two runs zero strikeouts zero walks all right scoring summary Jason Hayward in the second inning hits his first home run as a Houston Astro gets the Astros on the board two Z Singleton scores it's 2 to Zer then seventh inning Cameron with his single to Center Wilson scores it's 2 to1 then Brent Rooker with a eighth inning home run to Center 420 ft uh it's 2 to2 so throughout the first seven Innings this wasn't a big scoring Fest it was only three runs scored between both teams uh in the first seven Innings but in the last two innings for both teams there was a total of another six runs scored now it started in the eth when Brent hits a Brent Rooker hits a a soloh home run Forge of 20 ft crushed It 2 to2 then the as get a nice eighth inning going as they scored four runs in the eighth inning John Singleton with a RBS single to Center Diaz scored Tucker to third it's it's um 3-2 then eighth inning Jake Myers RBI double to Center Tucker scored Singleton to third it's four to2 then a two RBI single the eighth inning for Mauricio duban single to left Myers scored Singleton scored haward a second it's 6-2 but the A's weren't done in the ninth inning Nevin hits a home run to Right Center 365 ft and it's 6 to3 Alex bregman we're going to go over the individual batters for the Astros today Alex bregman was at the leadoff spot with Altuve not playing today um he was 0 for five Jan Alvarez was at the two spot playing Left Field he was 0 for four the first two guys in the lineup were terrible at 0 for9 but then really the rest of the lineup was pretty good in this game really good um from hitters 2 to n there was only uh one hitter that did not have a hit and that was Jer Pena who went 0 for four and most of the hitters uh two through nine were you know having multiple hit games today had multiple hit games today the only two guys that didn't have multiple hit games for the Astros Jake Myers and Jason Hayward everybody else had multiple hit games for the Astros number three hitter yanner Diaz Cal Tucker had one as well John Singleton and Mauricio duban so four hitters um from the order 2 to9 had multiple hit games uh or a multiple hit game today yanner Diaz went three for four scored a run had a single to write in the first a third inning single to center a eighth inning single to right Tucker at the DH today uh PL is played back-to-back games uh or not black not not back-to-back games but back-to-back days for the first time um since coming back from the I uh now we saw him play on Sunday and we saw him play on tu Tuesday um but there was uh there was the there was the day off on Monday so it wasn't back-to-back days we didn't see Tucker in the lineup yesterday uh Tucker did come in for a pinch hitting appearance I guess you you could consider that uh as back-to-back days playing Tuesday and Wednesday but the you know the first time uh Tucker has played back-to-back days um you know and you know since coming back from the iil so he he played every single game of this series but yesterday it was off of a pinch hit appearance first game you had six at bats um so um but it's good to see Tucker uh doing well because these last couple games he's actually been pretty good start off this series pretty rough but Tucker had a double to right Diaz to third in the third inning eighth inning single to left got Diaz to second that was it for Tucker going two for four this is his first multi-hit game since coming back from the iil Peno went 0 for four today Singleton went three for four the second guy to have three hits in the lineup a ground roll double in the second a double to right in the fourth and a RBI single in the eighth that gave the asers the lead Jake Myers went one for three he sacrificed a third in the fourth and to get Singleton to third the asers did not score a run in that in that inning and they a double to Center for an RBI to score Tucker in the eighth inning Jason Hayward went one for three had the two-run home run in the second inning he had two ground outs in the fourth and seventh and he was intentionally walked in the eighth inning then duban had multiple a multiple hit game uh seventh inning double to Center and then a single two RBS single in the eighth inning for duban who was playing second base today all right pitching fber Valdez looked great in this game does not get the win uh but goes six and one third giving up five hits one run one walk six strikeouts Brian Bru gets the seventh inning done uh gets the two outs and two pitches so light work for bran Bru then Ryan Presley already went over him as he got the win Josh haer comes in the ninth does give up a hit and a run
