BLEW OFF THE 737 IN JANUARY. THE COMPANY BRINGING A NEW CEO TO CLEAN THINGS UP. TALK US THROUGH THE POTENTIAL STRIKE? THE CONTRACT THEY ARE VOTING ON WOULD INCLUDE MORE MONEY. >> Reporter: PAY IS THE MAIN ISSUE. THERE IS A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BY THE LEADERSHIP OF THE UNION AND LEADERS FROM BOEING. THE 25% PAY RAISE OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS. 11% WAS INITIALLY SIGN. OVER ALL YOU WOULD LISTEN AND SAY, 25% IS A GOOD DEAL. THE UNION'S PREVIOUS CONTRACT WAS A 1% RAISE EVERY COUPLE YEARS OVER THE LAST EIGHT YEARS. THEY BELIEVE THEY HAVE BEEN SHORTCHANGED IN TERMS OF PAY INCREASES THAT MANY IN OTHER INDUSTRIES HAVE SEEN THE LAST FEW YEARS. A NUMBER OF MACHINISTS SAID THIS WHEN I ASKED IF 25% WAS ENOUGH? >> THE WAY INFLATION AND TIMES ARE, PEOPLE ON $20 AN HOUR CANNOT SURVIVE. >> Reporter: WHAT WOULD BE A FAIR PERCENTAGE THAT COULD BE ACCEPTED? >> 40% LIKE WE APPLY FOR THE FIRST TIME. >> WE ARE NOT JUST TILTING BIKES. WE ARE BUILDING AIRPLANES. >> Reporter: THEY ARE VOTING FOR A COUPLE MORE DOLLARS. YOU HAVE TO ANSWER IF THEY APPROVE THE CONTRACT. 50% TO IMPROVE. TO CALL FOR A STRIKE, TWO THIRDS. MUCH HIGHER THRESHOLD. THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THEY WILL SAY THEY DON'T LIKE THE CONTRACT BUT ARE NOT ENOUGH FOR A STRIKE. >> WE WILL BASICALLY KNOW BY THE END OF THE NIGHT? >> Reporter: YES. HE UNDERSTANDS PASSIONATE FEELINGS OF THE MACHINISTS WHO ARE WORKING HERE. AT THE SAME TIME, HE IS IN A TOUGH SPOT. 25%, THAT IS A VERY GENEROUS OFFER. IF YOU ARE A MACHINIST, YOU WILL SAY, WHAT DO THEY GET AT UAW AND CERTAIN AIRLINES WHEN THEY THREATENED TO GO ON STRIKE?
