Nestor Cortes upset with the Yankees || Today's Lineup -Yanks go for SWEEP

now Nester Cortez is pissed off [Music] oh what's going on everybody hope you're doing well so the Yankees go for the sweep today of the Chicago Cubs gar Cole is on the mound okay and I'm excited about that I'm hoping that they get the sweep it'd be really really really cool to talk about it later on so but I want to talk about an article okay and Neer Cortez comments for you have for those of you who haven't heard I'm going to put the article up here right like I always said I'm gonna back up what I say with facts articles okay not talking points not propaganda not other people's talking that's his stats right now and when you put him up against most of the other Yankees he's been one of the more yeah durable pitchers he's had his ups and downs okay and he's had his ups and downs and he's been good for a while too so but let's read this n cores was required of him to help the Yankees defeat the Cubs on Saturday by pitching out of the bullpen but he wasn't happy he was asked to do so he pitched four and a third of no hit Innings so I'm kudos for him he said he was upset he was placed in the bullpen for his first Rel rooll since 20 21 per ESPN obviously I was upset Cortez said I felt like I've been amongst all the starters the Workhorse here and once G Cole went down they picked me to be the opening day starter not necessarily the number one but the opening day starter I had to switch my routine there okay that's cool okay now okay a little bit more of this article this stuff when while C took the B for opening day Co sideline by an elbow injury was been solid for the Yankees again with a 397 why he just went through 147 K 163 right going to the bullpen was an unusual role for him team can be at least takes Solace knowing he will pitch from the bullpen again if needed I'm never going to back down from a challenge he said I'm never going to leave my teammates out the dry you're always going to get my best effort no matter what no matter if I'm happen you're not that's what I did today I came out there and proved I can be put in any situation from here on out okay if that's my role then I'll accept it ESPN not he was scheduled to start for the Yankees next weekend against the Boston Red Sox although his role will be uncertain after that with New York on returning to a fiveman son rotation for the stretch run and so on right I'm going to attach this down below for you to see okay and again read it decide what you feel but I'm going to ask a couple questions whatever happened to whatever the team needs me to do I'll do it that's what Aaron Boon said right when they asked him why is Verdugo here and not Jason Dominguez right whatever's going to put the team in a position to win he's going to do it the team's been winning they're back in first place clay Holmes said it when he was rightfully demoted from the closer role the Yankees said they're going to be created with closer position but even clay Holmes said whatever they need me to do to help the team when it find a setup man 7 whatever they need me to do I'll do it no questions asked okay so whatever happened to that that's just a question I have okay and I wonder why n cour doesn't say that why did you have to make it clear that you're upset publicly whatever his reasons are I don't know right I'm not trashing Mr Cortez I'm just asking why I appreciate what he did the fact of the matter is they tried something that I've actually said for an entire year that he'd be really good in Long relief as a lefty specialist they needed him he'd be a perfect Lefty reliever and he showed that yesterday right he was fantastic kudos to him and I'm glad to see Clark Schmid coming back as well throw he threw four really good four and two3 really good Innings too so and they shut out the Cubs for a second consecutive day so kudos to both of them so but before we blow this stuff out of proportion because some people will be blow out will blow out of this out of proportion right they will figure out a way to blame Boon blame Cashman it happens all the time they will do it okay maybe they have nothing better to do with their time but I want to know what your thoughts are okay do I hope you do a great job there the Yankees I I think the Yankees still haven't figured out what the playoff rotation is going to be I'm not surprised what the what the bullpen is going to be I'm not surprised either they still have some fine tuning to do obviously right and they have some a couple things they probably need to figure out on the offensive side too speaking of offense Ben rice since being optioned back on the Triple A he's homered in three consecutive games gets an opportunity to play regularly looks like he's figuring himself out again he's coming back which is why I do think he's going to be the starting first baseman for the Yankees and he should get get every opportunity to be that in 2025 let him continue to develop but the fact of the matter is that he came off to start then he fell off the face of the Earth okay then DJ got healthy now Rizzo's healthy so from a timing standpoint he wasn't the beneficiary of the timing unfortunately and for him getting cold when he did did not help him again but I do think he'll be the starting first baseman I should get an opportunity to be starting first baseman in 2025 just like I think Jason Dominguez will be the starting left fielder in 2025 they're going to get younger in several positions which I'm looking forward to and I think both of them will do a great job here okay so that is a good sign too okay and I hope he gets a more opportunity to play now speaking of playing here's today's lineup glabber TOS is on the mound I not on the mound my goodness he's leading off playing second base Juan Soto batting second right field Aaron judge batting third in center field Austin Wells is at the dish at the cleanup spot he's been nothing short of fantastic Jan Carlos Stanton at the Five Spot DH Jazz Chism at the six spot Third Base I said this yesterday too I like the righty Lefty righty Lefty three to six and Rizzo's batting seventh at first base vulp is batting eighth at Short Stop Alex verdugo's batting ninth and left field and G Cole is on the mount against the Cubs ni he go for the sweep and hopefully gar Cole can continue you know to do what he does and comes back strong from a cal cramp last week and I'm confident that he will otherwise he wouldn't be on the mount right so that's the lineup that's the about Mr Cortez and I just wanted to give you my take on it you give me your take that's fine load them up in the comments okay and they always they're always welcome but before we blow this completely out of proportion because I know it's going to happen Okay it always 10 and 10 they win 92 games they've already matched their season total for wins last year at 82 with 20 games to go okay they are way ahead of where they were last year as they should be yes last year's team was just a disaster and I think we can all agree that was so but I want to give you some insight on this okay just my insight I want to know what chers is and again to me it's really not a scandal right you know like some folks were blowing cashman's comments out of proportion yesterday with his interview with marid morovitz like making it was turning stuff into a scandal that's not a scandal for what why do we need people to be outraged all the time I don't see the point okay but that's why different views are important this is why I ask you for yours right you may not agree with mine I'm not going to agree with I might not agree with yours but I'm not going to block you for having a different view okay that's not fair to you okay the views different views are welcome because they motivate me to think differently think about why you feel that way why do you say that way and if you can back up your argument with facts then it's really really hard to argue with you right and that's why I ask people to back up our arguments with facts facts are so much better than talking points especially other people's talking points so that's what I got for you hopefully we'll go live and celebrate a sweep today a win before we go to Kansas City we come back home and face the Royals we got Royals for three then Red Sox for four in the Bronx so it's going to be a pretty uh pretty hectic week next week I think he are going to need to be on top of their game here they really need to and I still I'm going to stick with my prediction they go 13-7 they'll win 90 Games N excuse me 95 games and I predict them they win 95 games in the beginning of the season so I'm still sticking with my 95 win per I still think that's possible 13 and Seven's definitely doable based on who they're play who they're playing the rest of the season after Boston um they go out and play Seattle they play Oakland then they come back they get the Pirates um and I think they have one more Ser Baltimore Baltimore and then Pirates I think that's it for the rest of the year so 20 games left baby let's go Yankees
