hi everyone and Welcome to our game of the week finally it's here the focus of the college football World right here on this field today and we can't wait today it's a top 25 match up two teams off to good starts hoping to build on that and test themselves against another ranked team as we'll see a team that made use of a by week the South Carolina game cups take gone the 11th rank team the NC State Wolfpack 3A sports college football I'm Chris fer here on the booth with KK herb Street and I think we've talked long enough K let's get this game going [Music] [Music] [Music] NC State kick it off to get us underway Fields it inside the 5yd line returner BR down sets up the next drive so South Carolina's offense comes on the field first today and here he comes the quarterback all eyes on him he's the guy that just makes everything go well this guy's Mr do it all it's almost to say this about a quarterback but he truly does he's the echo of the coach and the connector of this offense when everyone is hooked up to him this team operates at maximum capacity and that usually means their opposition is in trouble he'll toss it to the back and that run goes nowhere against this fired dep defense they're just trying to establish the Run there's not much there but give credit to that defensive line and those linebackers attacking the line of scrimmage to negate any chance at all he shreds The Tackle oh and he fumbles now the defense has got it going the other way that's a great play by the defender who forced to Fumble but it's also recognized the heads up play from the guy who recovered it they were in the right place just the right time outstanding field position at the end this drive first down looking to throw the ball SS the quick throw and he's shoved out of bounds by the defense short of the first down marker MC State now operating in the Red Zone bring up and the ball is handed off out of the shotgun and he picks up the first down before they get him to the ground the offense sets up in scoring position with a new set of down looking to pass it's Bailey he's got it near the end zone and he will score touchdown North Carolina state that kind of play is almost impossible to defend when a quarterback is throwing the ball with that kind of accuracy and timing and the receiver runs a route like this good luck trying to stop it so maybe this is a great start for this combination this quarterback and receiver for a big day fielded In The End Zone it's Sullivan solid coverage there they get him at the 15 that's where the offense will take over and the gamec offense is back out there on the field that fumble from the last possession set up a touchdown and they bounce back from that costly error here that's a good chob here staying ahead of the chains good pick up here on first down quarterback hits the safety valow that time the big tight end that'll bring up a second manageable here for this offense brought down at the 28 and for a first down look I realize on any play call when it's properly executed it can go to the house for a touchdown but the runs that really make a game plan work are the ones where you get just what you need and he barely got the first down but he got it and he's got his man open down field tackle is made very near Midfield good enough for a first down and the Gamecocks come to the line sort of fresh set of downs oh a reverse picks up the first looking for more breaks clear End Zone ahead steps out of bounds but not before a huge gain on the ground that huge play sets up a great opportunity first and goal just outside the five he'll pitch it and he gets to the end zone touchdown South Carolina they were backed up to start the drive but some bold play calling great execution and he re endzone you know it's easy to just kind of pull your horns in and get conservative when you're pushed way back close to your own goal line but not this offense they came out showed the confidence that they have in their quarterback and it paid off nice touchdown return begins inside the 10 sto at the 22 that's pretty solid coverage there so here comes the W pack offense back out on the field they punched it in the last possession can they do it again or will this defense make some adjustments to get a stop they'll tackle him at the 27 this a good solid game five or six yards love to see that from the running game the game makes it second in medium the offense with some pre- snap eye candy he be decides to keep it here nowhere to run a coralin for no game that's exactly how you want to defend the option you know old school way is assignment football you have to do an account for the quarterback the pitch man here the quarterback had really nothing other than just kind of lower his head and get as much as he could fortunately for the defense it wasn't very much met pick up a first down they'll spot it at the 38 I love this unconventional call by the offensive coordinator third and medium a lot of times you thinking about throwing the football but instead they're able to run the ball with great execution and they pick up the first down and it's incomplete he dropped the first down pass over the middle looking downfield it's Bailey he's a wideopen receiver complete he's brought down but not before getting into enemy territory at the plus 47 this NC offense is moving quickly down the field well you could tell the quarterback knew exactly what he wanted to do with the football he was going to that end route no matter what he hits it for a nice game they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one what's the play call here on second down for this offense quarterback drops back the shotgun looking for a receiver caught in the back field it's concepion that's a big Play Moves the ball down inside the 30 NC State comes to the line [Applause] quickly it's a quick grab they make the stop but not before a solid game that time I love how this quarterback is finding this slot receiver not only is he tough to handle but it's what he's doing after the catch has such wiggle and quickness he's tough to bring down you see more positive yards after the catch here able to fight for a decent gain here in that running play so here comes second down now every play important down here in the Red Zone from the shotgun an inside handoff he'll be brought down just a few Ines short of that first down marker an important fur down conversion coming here in the red zone third and short they'll try to throw for it here looking to the end zone oh and he dropped it he could not hang on for a touchdown my goodness so here on fourth down out comes the field goal team and it's good right down the middle Chris they get the three points but looking back at it fourth an inches pretty conservative call there I really thought they would have gone for it bringing it out it's SU and they sto him short of the 25 there offense begins at the 22 and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field in the last possession the defense just had no answer for this powerful ground game let's see what they can do this time that's a nice wrap up there by the junior you know even though positive yards are gained here I think the defense has to be happy on how they prepar coming into the game for these kind of different looks they looked very aware that these formations and plays could happen on any given down takeen down but not before he makes the first down it's an option look pitch to the back already got the first down but looking for more yardage and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs a throw it's sers and they heave it deep down field the defender gets a hand in there to break the pass up inet makes it second down from the shotgun drops back he's looking deep here oh it's picked off what a play can he take it all the way that's a solid return after the interception oh great Hands by the defender to take that ball away and pretty much steal it from the intended receiver I don't know if I'd be targeting that Defender very many more times they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one that's a great Play All Around by this defense your first level Defenders hold their own at the point of attack allowing the second and third level players to roam free and make the tackle close to the line of scrimmage they tackle him behind the line a loss of four so a tricky situation here third and very long inside your own 20 how much of a risk do you take you know this defense could be very aggressive at this moment it's complet you know it's third down as a quarterback you're sitting there back in the pocket trying to find a matchup that you like pretty much everything taken away I like his thought to get it to the running back cuz he's a talented gifted player but he just could not wiggle free to pick up the first down and the returner brought down by the coverage team there and the Gamecock offense is back out there on the field this drive is important last one ended in an interception let's see if they can get it going here the pocket breaking down that's incomplete even on a first down pass attempt he felt heavy pressure incompletion sets up a second down oh it's a reverse he's brought down but not before the gain to the 42 yd line I'm a fan of anytime you can get the ball into his hands I think it's a win didn't go for a huge amount of yards but it's the threat of what it potentially can do and gives him another opportunity to get his hands on the football the Gamecock will have first and 10 here oh here comes the reverse has the first down and more that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down and the Gamecocks pick up enough for a first down here they try to run it with the option pitches to the back finding space to the 20 for set of bounds but a nice gain there and the offense will have a first and goal boy I thought he might take that one all the way to the house what a nice job by being able to find that lane in that defense he picks up Big yards and the defense is fortunate to get him out of bounds there inside the 10 yd line musle L of bounds close to the end zone I'd love to see this by this quarterback instead of giving up on the play Just it away or trying to put one into coverage he just takes off reminds this defense what he can do with his legs and almost took it to the house makes it across the goal line touchdown game CS Landing up to try the extra point that's why he's a dangerous Scrambler the quarterback says I'm just going to end this scoring drive right here I'll do it myself yeah and everybody's covered down field the defense has done a pretty good job of containing the offense the problem is this guy's creativity I don't know maybe put a spy a linebacker on him to tryy to mirr him when he takes off the spring and he stopped at the 20 tried to make something happen but that's a good coverage there so the NC State offense is back out on the field now are coming off a three and out looking to produce a positive drive here off the play fake looking to throw he's running out of time here and they hit him just as he releases the ball it's incomplete now it's second down here here's the handoff eludes a tackle just love watching this back run Gets behind that offensive line lowers his pads and get a nice solid game so from the 28 yd line it's a third and manageable here quarterback still with the football goes backwards losing three yards there punt team ready to boot it away with the linebackers really the quarterback of the defense on this play diagnos that quickly and executed it flawlessly he just flew in and blew up the option play for a loss good effort by The Return Man they get him down but that's a solid gain in the return and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field they start the drive giving the ball to the receiver on an end round they bring him down but that's a solid gain on the play you know we're seeing this more and more where wide receivers are getting involved in the running game both here in college and also up in the NFL I think it's due to plays like this one right here and it's not going to change anytime soon excellent play call that's a nice tackle there by the senior well I thought he might Shake free there he's able to break one tackle but give credit to the secondary good job of coming up and run support dropping back it's sers extending the play now looks to the left and it's complete and he's brought down there we in the age of the M quarterback and saw it right there the ability to scramble out of the pocket extend the play and make passes like that is invaluable to the offense White out's NOW [Applause] clustered oh a reverse finding space at the 20 and he'll make it in for the score touchdown South Carolina [Music] now the important point after attempt p is good so the lead now is 11 kickoff team is on the field to boot this one away car and here's the return from inside the five'll be tackled at the 17 strong job by the coverage team here comes the NC State offense back out on the field now this group is coming off a quick three and out can they put something together in this drive on First and 10 they'll look to throw it oh downfield catch made in the left side headset of bounds after a solid gain more than enough to pick up a first down the game moves the ball to the 39 it'll be first down here's the snap quarterback looking to [Applause] throw couldn't find anybody open and just has to throw it away so second down after the incompletion keep it on the ground there's the handoff tackled behind the line it's a loss of two not going to be easy here backed up a long way to go for a first down looking to throw it's Bailey thrs to the tight end looks downfield and connects with a wide open wide receiver what a clutch play Here by this offense to convert on third down I know it's still early in this game but the fact that they've dug themselves a hole to convert there and keep this drive alive they got a new set of downs and a chance to dig into this lead tackled behind the line it's a loss of two offense getting set up here's second down what a great job of playing assignment football here against the option by this defense every aspect of that play was taken away the quarterback and the ball to the ground defense jumps on the ball it's a turnover first down play call how agressive aggressive will it be they'll start the drive here with an end round as the first down is still going he's brought down but not before getting into enemy territory at the plus 47 that has been in large part the liance on the ground game which has been featured from both sides in this one so far as we flip the field and begin quarter number two we'll see if they can continue to build this lead new set of down for the offense first and 10 and he drops back in the gun quarterback rolling to his right now scrambling now he'll make to throw but they don't make the connection that one is incomplete important second down play coming up it was there Chris it was the right call it was good execution he just dropped it that receiver got to do a better job of finishing the play and the runner brought down after just a short game so the offense getting set this is not where you want to be against this defense third and long dropping back he going to throw for the first down on the Run he'll let it go he's got an open man downfield and it's caught tackle made after a big game well this is why this guy is one of the top wide receivers in college football it's third down the defense knows you're probably going to go to him and they still can't stop him from coming down with a big play here comes a throw from the Red Zone catch made looking for the goal line tackle at the eight after the completion this is an example of a quarterback in his offense just taking what the defense gives you not a huge play but positive yards the defense wants to give that throw to you take it get the ball to your receiver stay ahead of the SS caught quickly there's a loss after the completion that's a good play by the defense a lot of times you match up a wide receiver you get a linebacker on him I like to think that the wide receiver can shake him this linebacker is really athletic and is's able to make plays in Space the backs got to run a pitch touchdown game Cops this offense really clicking I think we're starting to kind of see a theme here Chris today that's his second touchdown the offensive line doing their job and he's doing an outstanding job of just reading the defense finding the hole and being able to pick up big yards in touchdown foul point after is good and the head coach will decide to accept the penalty and take the yardage here's the kickoff team let's see if they give the returner an opportunity to bring this back gets off a squid kick it'll be fielded by one of the upman and he stopped at the 20 tried to make up at happen but that's good coverage there first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be using the ground game here tailback has the hand off tackled behind the line it's a loss of two short loss on the play sets up second and long from the 18 ball handed off tackled behind the line it's a loss of two that was that excellent linebacker with a clear path just running downhill quickly you know I think one of the great things about watching this guy play all year is his vision he just has great instincts that time the defensive line ate up all the lineman freed up the linebacker to get into the back field and the result is a tackle for a loss for the backer they bring the punter onto the field now oh he's got a crease here look out and the returner brought down by the coverage team and the Gamecocks offense is back out there on the field first [Applause] and on First and 10 here looking to throw the ball and the pass is intercepted a takeway from the defense brought down after a short return but the interception gives the offense the football at the 40 big guys up front lined up it's first down to the air it's Bailey close at the sideline steps out after a short game second down after that completion the key here to me Chris is the receiver runs a precise route and the timing is impeccable quarterback cannot hesitate as if he does it can be pick six going the other way third down upcoming after that compus quarterback drops back cling the secondary makes a quick grab brought out of the 47 and that will move the sticks NC State getting set with a first and 10 now well it's third down the defense knows he's going to they've got him defense comes up with a sack the defender did not bite on the fake at all they were in pass rush mode the entire time we see if the offense can overcome that sack second and [Music] long makes a quick catch boy really nice throw here to slop receiver I love the quickness that he has after the catch he's essentially a running back playing at that that slot position that's how dangerous he is after he makes a catch game moves it to the 24 that's a fresh set of downs they bring him down but the sophomore quarterback shows what a cannon he has and the wi out goes in motion they flip it to him on the Jet Sweep runs through the defender they bring him down just short of the marker inches away from a first down here comes a crucial second down play every yard tough to find down here in the Red Zone takes the hand off on the counter play what nice job by this defense being able to diagnose the counter play you know when you run that counter you're hoping the illusion of the offense going one way and then coming back the other that the defense buys into it but they didn't buy it at all here and they come up with a nice loss The Tackle is made the offense is now set up with a first and goal from the eight a chance to get right back into this football game it's first down and goal looking to pass it's Bailey pass caught can he get in and he's in touchdown MC State the offense stretching the lead building momentum Kirk and if this defense isn't careful this one could get ugli right now this is just Flawless execution in every phase for this offense doing a great job of mixing in their calls right now widening that lead and killing the will of their opponent turn it from inside the five on the move it's a very nice return before stepping out of bounds puts the offense in nice position to start the drive and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field see if this quarterback can bounce back the last possession a pick on the very first play it's an outout the catch made anytime a quarterback and a receiver are in sync you got a chance to make a very successful play great job here by the offense oh it's a reverse in the clear at the 25 and he breaks loose down the left side it's a foot race takes it all the way to the house touchdown South Carolina and that's another touchdown for this guy this defense better adjust and get eyes into that back field or he may go for a third or a fourth later today now the all important extra point and the kick is up and good they tack on a point to their lead here's the kickoff team Now set to boot this one away carolina5 ncate 17 and the return starts just inside the end zone tackle at the 12 the coach wishes he' left that one in the end zone so here comes pack offense back out on the field they were clicking last time great protection the pitch and catch was solid right down for a touchdown inside give now from the shotgun the sophomore with a strong tackle there but a defensive coordinator this week all week telling us about Gap Integrity not giving this running back any creases at all really sound defense on that play gra down the middle it's Anderson he's tackled short of the 30 but that's good enough for a first down and State comes to the line quickly well they love going to this guy in the slot don't they what a mismatch inside he reels in another one this guy's automatic it's a quarterback keeper and tackled after a small pickup there not exactly the outcome this offense was hoping for here on the option I'll give him credit they didn't lose anything so it wasn't a negative play but this kind of play's got to be able to hit big and get that down the sidelines for big yards and the defense able to hold him there to a short gain it's third down after that run scanning the field it's Bailey and the completion made and the game just good enough for a first down this NC offense is moving quickly down the field and you just continue to see the chemistry between these two and they told us yesterday in our production meeting they spent hours and hours of working and devel in that chemistry and that Rhythm by throwing together throughout those summer months and man it's starting to really pay off he's become his security blanket for the quarterback and especially on third down get him the ball running back has it on a screen now fights through a tackle and he'll be brought down the running back that time just kind of sneaks out of the back field and shows his hands on that nice catch quarterback keeps the football football comes out the defense recovers the fumble well the defense saw the quarterback keeping the ball and their eyes lit up trying to get to him to knock that ball away and as a quarterback he's got to do a better job on these designed runs he can't afford to keep the ball loose in traffic he has to hold on tight keep that ball close to his body they're going to turn it over every time first and 10 now for the offense here's the snap looking to throw quarterback looking to scramble finding face at the 20 oh it it's a fumble the ball bounces out of bounds so the offense will hold on to possession the Gamecocks are in the Red Zone they'll run the option pitch play to the back defense gets him down but they'll take the gain on that play Chris is the consistency of his back is given this defense f they' got to come up with some changes up front this guy's already over 50 yards and if he keeps running the way he is not only is he having a great day it's going to give this they've got him it's a sack from the defense that's the kind of play right there that this defense has been looking for maybe that'll spark them because let's face it this game has not gone the way they had hoped but a play like that sometimes can create some and he throws his third interception of the day and he'll be taken down but after a good time it's third and long so as an offensive coordinator you can either play a conservative or trust your quarterback and take a shot down field they elect the ladder and it ends up backfiring on them and the quarterback keeps it here he moves the ball across the 20 to the 22 the game makes it second and [Applause] medium got the first down now looking for more tackled but only after picking up a fresh set of downs first down and 10 now from the shotgun now here's a hand off inside tackled behind the line it's a loss of two second down here time for one more play before the two-minute warning that's the two-minute warning let's see if this offense can do something before the break to cut into this big lead now they'll switch it up looking to throw the ball here finds a man open on the right side downfield that picks up a first down they spot it at the 39 back to pass it's biley the pass is incomplete he dro the first down attempt here across the middle offense lines up for a second down play off the incompletion and the quarterback dropping back caught over the middle it's Mitchell brought down but the gain moves the ball all the way to the plus 42 looking to throw yet again the defense drops him for a loss he went backwards there a second down behind the sticks now NC State comes to the line quickly quarterback looking to throw it on second down SS a quick throw they bring him down after a solid game but it's still well short of the first down marker drops back looking to throw for it on third down just gives up on the play throws it away and now it's Fourth Down the punt team making their way on the field hey the good news is here Chris they're still in field goal range and they didn't cost themselves any points but they could have more got to be thinking about going for this on Fourth and short and the Gamecock offense is back out there on the field that costly Red Zone interception the last time out let's see if they can recover from that error pressure is coming and it's incomplete even in a first down throw he was under some heavy pressure incomplete second down coming up oh here comes the reverse he's free around the 15 heads out of bounds after another big gain on the ground this running game has been strong today big chunk play this offense operating at Peak efficiency he's moving out of the pocket now he'll avoid the big hit with the slide well they did a good job of getting pressure on the quarterback but man make the play bring him down instead they give up positive yards here on the scramble he'll toss it to the back he'll be stopped for a loss on the play the defense all over the option that time and now the offense will call a timeout here something didn't like about what they saw there wanting to make an adjustment before this critical down and he finds a wide open receiver they forgot about him downfield touchdown gamec made the defense look slow that time Carol Chris is a great touchdown by the quarterback and receiver but I just can't help but think this is why defensive coordinators work so hard on the pursuit drill Better Effort from the collective defense might have prevented that from being a touchdown 17 he's going to bring it out of the End Zone from a couple yards deep tackled at the 14 not very good field position to start here so theate offense is back out over field now you could expect a prudent decision here backed up near their own Endzone just run the clock out and get to halftime and he's going to stretch the defense and that one's picked off what a play not much on the return there but the interception gives the football back to the offense at the 47 it's line getting set up it's a first down play dropping back it's sers running out of time in the pocket finds the receiver wide open they bring him down but a big chunk of yardage on the play offense stps the clock with their second timeout to talk strategy so the offense takes the field in the final seconds of the half chance for just a couple more plays Runner finding some space there that's a solid gain on the ground so a time out is the talk strategy maybe time for one or two more plays before halftime just time enough for one more play in the half he'll pitch it they've got him behind the line the option doesn't work at all and that will do it for the first half here Kevin Connors now has our halftime update guys time for everyone to take a deep breath and digest what we just saw in Raleigh these two defenses have really been up to the task so far and it's hard to ignore how each of these two secondaries have impacted things they've stayed true to their assignments covering each receiver like a blanket and you know what else they've done they've wrapped up and tackled it's time to throw it back to our guys in the booth to start up the second half [Music] the Gamecock will kick this away to get the second half going and he'll bring it out from inside the town solid job by the coverage SC they bring him down at the 16 here comes the NC State offense back out on the field now there's some pre- snap movement back in motion grab down the middle it's concepion they stop him after a short gain it's not a first down second down play coming up well it's a game of matchups always has been and it always will be especially on the perimeter and the quarterback believes his guy is better than their guy they're going to run the option fights off a Defender they'll tackle him right at the 25 yd line they put it four times already on the verge of a they can't convert this third down they'll try to move the chains here on the ground and they'll tackle him for a loss of five yards and a player is down injured after that last play will'll take a timeout where they check him out and on fourth down the punter sends it away with the return it's Bennett he's brought down but a good effort to make something of that return a first down here for this offense looks like the QB is changing the play at the line on First and 10 looking to throw avoiding the pressure moving out to the right looks down field and finds a receiver who worked his way wide open that last catch K puts him over 150 receiving yards in the game let's start checking the record books this guy's making a push yeah it really doesn't matter what the defensive coordinator calls whether they play man whether they play oh and he's in the clear now it's a foot race touchdown South Carolina and this one is getting ugly South Carolina what a long run for the touchdown I don't know if this defense was caught sleeping or walking in run I can't pick which one maybe it's both because the running back just went right by them so easily for the big gain and a big time score and he takes this from inside the five the coverage team able to bring him down so here comes the wol pack offense back out on the field they were held to a quick three out last time looking to put together a positive drive here dropping back it's Bailey it's a quick grab breakes one t gets brought down he picks up some decent yardage a completion sets up a second down play the quarterback keeps it on the option brought down at the 2 eight and that's good enough for a first down boy this offense does such a great job of putting the threat of the quarterback and the running back on this defense it puts the defense in a tough spot because it's really hard to take both away this time the quarterback gets out and shows you the speed he has as well NC State getting set with a first and 10 now and the runner takes off to his right gets into space at the 50 oh and nothing but green brass ahead he could not stop him he's in touchdown wol there all week I wondered if this back might get loose and come up with a big play like this the defense had their back turned couldn't really see where he was by the time they realized it he just had too much speed and he's able to take it to the end zone car 49 fielded In The End Zone it's Bennett and it'll be tackled right at the 20 that's a good by the coverage team and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field looking out throwing here to start the drive they trap him and Sack him back at the 10 this is good pressure by the defense it just felt like the quarterback was holding on to the ball a little bit too long which allowed the defense to get home finding space at the 20 and they've got him so from the 28 yd line it's a third and manageable here they'll try the option play here pits to the back breaks loose at the 40 and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs see what the call is on First and 10 quarterback's got it on the option pitches to the back has the first down still on the move they bring him down but not before he picks up the first good execution of the option the Gamecocks pick up first down yards to keep the drive going change of pace now looking to throw the football on the run here taking a deep shot this one is broken up Falls incomplete second and 10 after the previous play well you can see what happens when you try to squeeze it into a tight window and a senior making a disruptive impact play what will the call will be on Third and long now from the 44 back to throw it's sers looking for the wi out catch made on the right side that's a big gain tackle finally made but it's a huge gain they spotted at the 34 the offense operating at Peak efficiency they come to the line again he's pass the marker and still going touchdown Gamecock and the route is [Applause] onol [Music] number so they'll try to add to the lead now with the pat it's a fake can they score on this and he'll make it into the end zone how about that a wild nutsy call they fake the Pat and get it in for two getting set to kick the ball off now Fields it just outside the goal line he'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage [Applause] there the SE St offense is back out on the field [Music] now out of the shotgun he hands it off great cut there and the broken tackle there produces a solid game second down after that previous play and now the running back's got it again goes backwards losing three yards there Chris that play just didn't have much of a chance at all from the snap quarterback hands this off and just nowhere to go it's almost like the defense was anticipating the play call and they put themselves in a position to come up with a nice tackle for a loss not much after the catch but it is good enough for a first down a new set of downs after that completion looking for a gap it's Smothers he shreds The Tackle it's exactly what you want to see as a play caller you get positive yards to be able to kind of keep you on schedule as a play caller that's all you can ask for good job up front and a nice run he'll run it here and he's got it already past the first down marker breaks into the clear it's a Sprint the 10 they're not going to get him who's in touchdown North Carolina state that was a foot rise the defense had no chance K serious Breakaway speed for that back would to be able to burst a run like that that spans more than half of the field gives this offense so much confidence and it's send a message to this defense that they're going to have to square up and beat you at the line of scrimmage you're going to see this happen again he's tackled at the 17 so it' been better to leave it in the end zone for a Touchback and the Gamecocks offense is back out there on the field they really built momentum in this game they've been hard to stop can the defense make some adjustments come up with a stop here that was incomplete an aggressive deep shot on first down offense getting set it's second down well Chris the offense takes a shot down field and this Defender does a great job of making a play on the ball not only that he tips that ball up into the air good chance for the defense to come up with an interception there an important third down attempt for this offense oh the reverse Breaking Free at the 35 they bring him down but that's a good play movs the ball to the 39 the game starting new series here on First and 10 how impressive these guys been up front today big third down know what you need to do get the first down continue to hold on to that lead continue to work clock and get that much closer to securing a victory there's a first and 10 play oh it's a reverse fighting off the defender runter Scoops out of bounds after gaining decent yards I know this defense worked very hard at half time to come up with answers on how to try to slow down this running back after the big first half and he's already at it again easy throw to a wide open receiver downfield touchdown South Carolina stretching the lead this one is getting ugly well this is how you start to get rolling that's two touchdowns so far and the more he gets fed the more often he's going to cash in and they tack on the extra point now they get set to kick it away the score South Carolina 64 he's going to return it from near the goal line and he stopped at the 19 good job by the coverage team here comes the NC State offense back out on the field now the last Drive the ground game was so successful ended in a touchdown we'll see if the defense can respond to it this time they'll tackle about the 23 yd line here's the second down play brings up second quick throw that's an RPO caught on the left side and he's brought down but there is a penalty marker out there let's check out this call the officials catch that b mask penalty the offense gets a free first [Applause] down they'll run it with the shotgun you know in an era that we live in right now everybody wants to spread the field around try to create space try to create one-on-one matchups and the defense has countered over the years by trying to play out wide but here's a great example the defense has the ability to play wide but still be solid at the line of scrimmage not give up big run plays the offense facing a tough conversion here third and long from the 42 back to pass it's [Applause] Bailey and tring to just throw it away that's going to bring up fourth down now and the punt team now want to kick it away boy this is all about the defense here nice stop here on third down but really it's about trying to get this offense behind the sticks once you get him behind the sticks you can mix up your coverages really affect the quarterback's eyes and disrupt the timing and the rhythm of what the offense is trying to do now we've got another big fourth down coming up the senior able to make the stop after a short gain second down play coming up for this offense oh here comes the reverse Breaking Free at the 35 it's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down offense will set up on First and 10 from the shotgun drops back looking for an open man ball lands harmlessly out of bounds but at least he avoided the sack here that was important so after the incompletion it's second down quarterback drops back we going a test the secondary On The Run he'll let it go it's caught downfield touchdown game Cops and the beat down continues man and with that completion right there this quarterback now has gone over 300 yd in this game what a day kick is good kicker got flags all over the field Chris how about that a quick slant that goes for this many yards in a touchdown that's what's so dangerous about this quarterback and wide receiver quarterback puts the ball right on the money and by doing so look at the receiver catches it in stride and has all that room to run after the catch for that touchdown fresh set it down to the offense first down look come out throwing here to start the drive freshman shows inexperience lucky it didn't get intercepted offense getting set second down play here that's caught it's Anderson they stopped the receiver but that's a solid gain in that play solid gain in the running play third down now look at a pick up the first down for the air caught near the sticks it's Rogers he's tackled quickly but the yardage is good enough for the first down a new set of downs after that completion it's a shotgun run call nice run he's brought down to the 44 coaches told us in the pregame production meetings they love this back's mixture of speed and power we know about the speed but he also showed the ability to break tackles on that one they bring him down but the gain moves the ball into enemy territory at the 43 single this NC offense is moving quickly down the [Applause] field he'll hand it off and a decent gain there before the defense brings him down the game makes it second and medium again thrown out of the RPO and it's complete they stop him but it's a first down defense not press in this time off the play fake on first down and he'll LOF it to the end zone and it's picked off in the end zone big takeaway now looking for a big return finally able to take him down but that's a great return after the pick boy would this quarterback love to have this one back they're trying to work themselves back into this game here in the second half and the defense comes up with a big turnover the could be the nail in the coffin looking for a deep completion the catch is made for a huge pickup touchdown South Carolina to stretch the lead the route is on that's what makes this guy so dangerous as a wide receiver he can catch the ball underneath shake and bake and go by you or use his speed to get around you and make a big play like this for a touchdown extra point knocked right down the middle the kickoff team on the field now as they get set to send this one away the turn starts from inside the five he'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage there so here comes the W back offense back out on the field they had it going on the last drive but it ended abruptly with the interception let's see what they can do [Applause] here stopped right there at the line no gain the back just had nowhere to go how about the defensive line they eat up all the blocks up front freeing those linebackers up to be able to make the play just a bad Play All Around for this offense and they'll bring him down after just a short pickup they're backed up here trying to make up at happen on Third and long dropping back we going to throw for the first down and he's got his man open downfield they bring him down but an explosive play by this offense big game offense comes up to the line they might have a chance for a couple more plays before the quarter expires looking for some space it's smothers and he's brought down short of the line to gain in what should be the last play of this third quarter and it's South Carolina in the lead here hasn't been much of a contest so far and the stats will reflect that offense getting set for a second down here to begin the quarter to throw it's Bailey lets it Go quickly and the sophomore a little bit too much air under that throw they come to the line a long way to go for the first half but needing this crucial conversion right [Applause] now drops back needing a third down completion here that's caught it's Anderson tackled across Midfield at the 48 good enough for a first down a new set of downs after that completion really good job here of converting by this offense let's face it at this point in the game because they have such a big hole to climb out of they've got to be able to convert and come up with a new set of downs they do it here now they got a real shot to cut into this lead and throwing again on second and 10 and this one is caught that's an explosive gain they've got him but they gain all the way to the 28 NC State getting set with a first and 10 now [Applause] there's the snap quarterback setting up to throw bringing pressure and he just throws it away there safe move had nobody open second down after the [Applause] incompletion here's the option play just a four yd gain so it sets up third and six means of the defense got to be frustrated the offense cannot be stopped [Applause] here that one is incomplete the defender was right there and it brings up a fourth down now the coach chooses to go for a field goal attempt here after making his first attempt he'll try again from 41 yds out and it sails right through the middle of the uprights solid kick so they get the three but the margin is still huge so after the field goal the kicker out there again to Boot It Away Fields it inside the 5 yd line he'll be tackled at the 18 that's good coverage there and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field last time out a oneplay touchdown drive through the air and they keep it going here the pass rush closing in that one is incomplete took a downfield shot on first down but missed it getting set here's second down it's an option look The Backs got it on the pitch heads out of bounds after a solid game more than enough to pick up a first down first and 10 play coming up what a shock right I mean this guy once again gets his hands on the football and great thing seems to happen he's over 120 yards on the day and it's really been a combination his oh and he breaks free it's a foot race out of bounds but not before a huge game offense gets a fresh set of downs man they're already up big in this game and now they're taking shots down field they're just looking to pour it on right now still throwing the football invertible shots to boot they'll stop him behind the line for a loss of one well these obvious running situations are very tough when you're working with the lead late in the game because you know the defense is going to stack the line of scrimmage make it as difficult as possible for you to run the football so nice job there by the defense they're trying to punch that ball out do anything they can at all to get the ball back oh he doesn't hang on off the deflection there it's going to bring up a third down play to throw it's sers throws it to the right pass is incomplete the defense affecting the quarterback with pressure there hey it's an incompletion but it's a nice job by the quarterback it's a fake going to pass for it nowhere to go the ball knocked loose so the gamble does not pay off he might regret passing up the three points first down play call how aggressive will it be well this returner is about to get an earful but at least the coach isn't as mad as they would have been if they ended up losing the ball brought down but not before he gets into enemy territory at the 49 first down and [Applause] 10 here's the snap offense looking to throw the ball caught over the middle it's concepion they make the tackle but that's an excellent game moves the ball to the 33 the drive stays alive with that first down completion here's the snap looking to throw here finds a man down field that's a big gain to the right and the game just good enough for a first down a new set of downs after that completion and the big numbers just continue to pile up for this quarterback that's more than 400 passing touchdown NC State still no answer for this offensive machine buus never say guy attitude from this quarterback he's still slinging it out there this game's Out Of Reach but this guy's still putting the ball in the air and this one's a touchdown automatic on the pat kickoff team has come on the field now to send this one away and here's the return from inside the five bulldozing his way past tacklers he steps out at the 22 and that's where the drive will begin and the gamec offense is back out there on the field fast possession they fumbled it away and set up a touchdown drop and they bounce back from that right away here comes a first down pass attempt oh nice play by the defender got a hand in there to break up the pass so second down after the incompletion quarterback checks the defensive look makes some adjustments looking to throw it's sers [Music] tries the right with a quick throw it's complete what a grab near the sideline how aggressive will they be on this first down play Chris I'm kind of surprised they're still taking shots down field they got a big lead we're in the fourth quarter run the ball get out of Dodge keep everybody healthy tackle made after a big game I mean it seems like every time this guy touches the ball it's another big gain this poor defense it's just not been their day at all what a dominant performance by this offense on the other hand finds a man open on the right side downfield and they finally stop him down at the five solid gain on that catch and run another big play for this offense C they are not throttling back here even with a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter this defensive coverage seems one step behind the entire game even when they call the right coverage the offense had made the plays that they need to to be able to put points on the board and the quarterback drops back looking for an open man launching one to the end zone intercepted In The End Zone what a play by the defense really the only way they can get back into this game is to create a turnover they get an interception and they're in business first play of the drive looking to throw the football grab down the middle it's Anderson tackle made after a nice pick up on the play so quickly all the way up to the 36 in it's first down just checking the stats after that last completion he's approaching 450 passing yards now well this guy's doing everything right to be able to have a day like this he drops back he finds these open receivers and he puts the ball right on the money and how about the receivers the job that they've done being able to make plays after the catch today first down we're going to throw the football fires it to the the QB throws his third pick of the day hard running through a tackle he steps out of bounds a solid return and a great play to set up his offense here excellent field position here for the offense defense is coming after him it's incomplete he was hit as he threw good pass rush there on first down incomplete so it's second down and 10 looking downfield it's sers escaping the pressure moving right and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs how aggressive do you get on First and 10 nice job of this defense taking away the primary receiver even the second and third option but the quarterback's legs are the difference he's got some room can he get there touchdown gamec and this one is getting ugly that's another touchdown for these guys man they have had a day that you dream about whether it's the quarterback the running back the receivers the offensive line the entire unit has been dominant kickoff team is on the field see if they give the returner a chance to bring this one back and is fielded returner trying to create a big play here but he's got some space here turns on the speed still going it's a foot race all the way for a touchdown what a highlight moment the kickoff taken all the way back for a touchdown man a kick return for a touchdown is one of the most electri plays in football everything has to align right great blocks Return Man hits the crease just like he did there then he's Off to the Races by the way if I'm the kickoff coverage team I don't know if I'd be kicking this guy anymore they returning from inside the 10 yd line go out of Bounds at the 32 that's a decent return and the South Carolina offense is back out on the field looking to throw it on first down with the catch it's Jacobs tackle is made a short game well short of the marker so easy to get excited about the receivers on the outside and their ability to make big plays but the slot receivers are just as exciting especially with their finess quickness and ability to make guys miss in the middle of that field look to throw it here on second down that's a bullet right into the part of the field and the pass is dropped would have been a big game but he couldn't hold on offense been in Reverse here now a long way to go to convert this third down gets the first and still running that's a big game before he goes out of bounds it'll move the sticks more than enough for a first down the Gamecocks begin a new series here first and 10 quarterback drops back escaping the pocket now moving to his right he's a wideopen receiver complete they bring him down but a big chunk of yardage on the play the defense is spread all over the field creating some one-on-one matchups and the quarterback makes him pay for it from inside the Red Zone they're looking to throw caught quickly brought down after the catch but at the8 yd line the offense threatening here you see more and more offenses in college football going to three receivers and slot receiver a lot of times can become the go-to guy he gets mismatches against either safeties and Nickelback or a linebacker walked out he can take advantage of it offense facing a third down now they can still get a first down without scoring on third down he drops to throw caught near the goal line doesn't quite get in but it sets up a first and goal for this offense Bo this offensive line you got to tip your cap they've done everything you of there taking care of this quarterback they do it again here on third down working with that lead you know the pressure is coming and they [Applause] deliver quarterback adjusting now to the [Applause] defense there's the snap he's looking to throw he's got it right near the end zone touchdown South Carolina and the route is on Chris you talk about having a day this offense just goes out they don't they're not even looking at the scoreboard they're just going out executing the play call and continuing to put points on the board extra point looks the uprights kickoff team on the field getting set now Turner trying to create good field position makes it to the 16 that's good coverage there [Music] so the ncate offense is back out on the field now the last possession ended in an interception let's see if they continue to trust this quarterback in the passing game with the catch it's Anderson and he breaks the tackle and the way to a solid gain there pass caught second down now drops back from the shotgun looking for an open man quarterback delivers complete to the right side and the runner steps out of bounds but does have enough yardage to pick up the first down first down play call coming up how aggressive will it be dropping back it's Bailey quick throw to his receiver looks down field and connects with a wide open wide receiver and they'll bring him down but this offense creates a huge chunk play the offense really clicking here that's a great job of working the middle of the field by this quarterback he picks up Big yards touchdown wolf just ran away from the defense you could tell that this play caller the offense coordinator he's thinking about the future he wants to see how his quarterback and how this offense wants to compete when this game's Out Of Reach he's going to be very happy with him result in this one and the point after is right down the middle he'll return it from inside the five he'll be tackled at the 17 strong job by the coverage team and the Gamecock offense is back out there on the field the last Drive the passing game very effective moved him right down the field and the defense make adjustments but a huge hit by the linebacker what a tackle that completion makes it second down boy that's pretty good coverage here by this defense not much of a window to throw this ball into but the quarterback's accuracy and the size of the tied end picks up a nice game first down here time for one more play before the clock stops for the two-minute warning and that's the two-minute warning this offense looking to run out the clock and secure an impressive win here today and looking to throw now on first down that one Falls incomplete good defensive play brings up second down he'll change the pre- snap look now looking to throw again quick throw misses his Mark there incomplete so it's third and long from the 29 the defense play coverage a blitz oh the reverse defense stops him short of the markers and now it's fourth down just another example this offense RIS doing pretty much whatever they want to do they've been able to run the football offensive allines held their own in pass protection quarterbacks had an outstanding day you had all that up reason why they're up by such a wide margin heads out of bounds after a solid gain more than enough to pick up a first down the Gamecocks will line up on First and 10 oh it's a reverse defense makes the stop after a 5yd gain so second and five offense lines up this is the seventh play now in this drive quarterback looking a pass here on second down and the Junior able to get home with the seven eighth play of the drive coming up but a long way to go on third [Music] down they snap it quarterback looking to throw the ball on the run here lets it Go intercepted picked off by the defense not much of a return but the important thing is the interception sets the offense up at the 45 that's just a poor decision by the offensive coordinator and the quarterback working with the run the football here and work the clock instead throws it into coverage now they got a chance to get right back in the game he's got it open man downfield and it's C oh the football comes out recovery by the defense headed the other way oh just a costly turnover here for this offense last thing they wanted to see is put this ball on the ground and really any chance of getting back into this game is lost throws it to the right and it's incomplete the defender arrive the same time as the football and now it's second down quarterback looking to connect with the receiver here let's him fly to the wide out oh that one's picked off going the other way can they catch him that's a pick and a long return before finally being taken down boy this defense did exactly what they needed to do come up with a turnover here in the second half to get themselves back in the game they get the interception now can their offense come up with a way to cut into this lead caught near the sideline it's Smothers CHR now that we're in the final couple minutes of this game it's a good time to just kind of step back and appreciate the job this defense has done throughout the entire game they've applied pressure they've been physical at the line of scrimmage good job in space and a big part of the reason that they have such a big lead today and a big game before he goes out of bounds the offense keep keeps churning gets a fresh set of downs NC state has moved into the Red Zone back to throw it's Bailey and he's got it touchdown North Carolina State well first of all I'm impressed that the user has not turned the game off and reset you're planing into the final whistle and the offense is following your lead by playing hard and gaining some confidence for next week not going to win this game but I'll tell you what you're a trooper return begins inside the 10 the coverage team brings him down at the 26 and the South Carolina it back out on the field come back out protecting a safe lead what an awesome feeling to be way ahead in a big road game stepping to his right now to avoid the pressure quarterback gets down to avoid the tackle now a timeout is taken but just 5 seconds remaining what's the play call here on second down for this offense 25 receivers now getting some new assignments before the snap 22 quarterback wants to throw it on second down and he's going to Rifle this one deep to the left side and it's incomplete with just one second remaining on the clock after the incompletion they'll come to the line with third and one look at to pick up the first down through the [Music] air it took one last for shot but time runs out on this one a really entertaining one it was fun one to call they get the W Kirk in a shootout not much to criticize for either of these teams on the offensive side where they put on a great show but for the two defenses especially the losing Squad I can't imagine their coach
