there with the same characteristics of you the main thing was not the main thing today welcome back to The Bachelorette where we are moving out of New Zealand and headed back to the US in Seattle so you know what that means time for the men to give a half-hearted yell of the lead's name into the void I give that one a four out of 10 and this is the week before Hometown so there's a lot at stake here as we head into the first one-on-one for the week this one is going to be with Marcus who's incredibly lucky to receive the traditional Bachelor product placement date and since we're here in beautiful Seattle also known as the Emerald City I thought it would be so much fun to celebrate the new movie Wicked which hits theaters this Thanksgiving oh you just know Jesse Palmer was sitting in his magical Mr Rogers trolley in his Green Jacket thinking gosh wouldn't it be so fun to celebrate the new movie Wicked at which point all the producers scream yeah and Jesse wiped away happy tears with the money Universal Pictures gave him and I mean whatever it happens all the time I just wish it didn't seem so fake as if someone's holding up a script to Jen as she's endorsing something she's indifferent to like my only official recommendations are US army issued mustache trimmers Morton salt and the CR Lawrence fine 2-in a style scraper oscillating knife blade so Jesse sends these two down the yellow brick road to meet the final two from Joey season Kelsey and Daisy who are also here to force feed us Wicked propaganda me and Kelsey did find an unexpected friendship much like Glenda and alphaba from Wicked you know I've always said that about these two I've always said that so Jen and Marcus walked down the yellow brick road making choices and doing things and that pretty much sums up this date eventually It All Leads to the good witch charity who tells these two to use her magic wand to pop these bubbles the perfect date for an army vet with trauma from getting hit by a grenade then of course it wouldn't be a date with Jen without a Heights thing as they then meet up with the OG Bachelorette Trista to head up into a hot air balloon and do the whole Defying Gravity thing now as that happens back with the guys it's time for the group date card to come out and when everyone's name is called except Jeremy well Jeremy knows that he's going to be getting his first one-on-one of the season and just in the nick of time but you know he's totally whatevs about it does that mean I have a one-onone for sure yeah yeah all right now back with Marcus and Jen it's time for us to hear the contractually mandated emotionally gut-wrenching date story this time in true Bachelor fashion right on a baseball field where here Marcus opens up about how his parents left him and his sister at a daycare and never came back so they went to a foster home there was a lot of times where I thought that I was going to like have a mom and dad and then they would like change their mind and then like me and my sister would end up back at you know foster home and that whole experience made Marcus feel like something was wrong with him but Jen says no there's nothing wrong with Marcus so Jen pulls out a rose and tells Marcus please don't feel unlovable you're more than that just like alphab from Wicked in theaters this November and you know what Wicked isn't sponsoring this video so let me just say don't see Wicked don't go whatever you do never see Wicked your move Universal Pictures send me an email and I'll cut this part of the video out but all right it's time to move on to the group date where we're once again pulling a date idea out from the classic Bachelor Playbook as we're going on the radio date partially hosted by former Bachelor Jason and his wife Molly who happened to go on the radio date during his season now here Jen gets asked who she's really connected with and one man who comes up a lot is saying as Jen is looking to break through that purely physical connection that they have and get to something more emotional but don't worry Samm is always keeping the main thing the main thing I'm going to chase what what I want you know what my dream in life which is become a husband is become a father I'm somebody that's going to keep the main thing the main thing and his main thing is keeping it physical and aggressive as the hosts ask the men to do a little word association and this is Sam's word fantasy sweet it's rapid fire aggressive what' you say aggressive what the hell hey Guy hey Guy fella you looking for harassment charges man either re between the lines or look Between the Bars oh this is one of the biggest nose Dives in Bachelorette history as all the other men are coming up with creative or just normal ways to describe Jen and how they feel about her meanwhile Sam keeps saying stuff like to say that I've been doing nothing but Falling in Love With You from the from the first time that we had a conversation would be uh yeah that would be a lie wait what did he say that the right way surely he meant the opposite right that he has been doing nothing but Falling in Love am I hearing this wrong I didn't know if you would be able to show love the way that I knew how to are you well in the head Chief and I describ my love as Reckless oh Sweet Child of God yeah I think with those two things it's tough to lose in a relationship H well Jen is feeling like Sam's answers weren't genuine so Jason and Molly pull Sam aside to have a solo chat with Jen where here Jen asks Sam what his first impression of her was and Sam pulls out the old shovel to dig himself deeper I almost didn't even make I almost didn't even come here I thought the bat TR was going to be Daisy or Maria you're stunning there's no doubt about that right there but like that's I know that that Fades okay this has got to a top 10 Bachelorette fumble and Sam is scrambling over here like he calls her selfless and Jen's like how am I selfless and he goes oh okay uh I know how you're selfless after night one that connection that we had was hot it was that's not selfless I feel like you've kept me in a closet how does that mean selfless but you know Sam here when all else fails go to the physical My love language is physical touch it's like this it's like get your hands off of you scoundrel well that night at the evening portion of the group date Jen says one conversation from the day left her feeling unsettled and all heads turned to Sam so Sam is changing up the game plan he's going all emotion and yeah it's just as bad as before arguably worse as Jen asks him why her where is he coming from give me anything thing and Sam goes because I love you Sam stop oh no not the Sam stop bro is cooked he's so desperate he's taken a play out of the other Sam's Playbook Jen I'm already falling in love with you okay uh also can we have a cap on all reality TV contestants Named Sam for the Year this is getting to be too much for me aesthetically people think oh no come on Sam you can get any girl you want you're looking back at your life what does that life look like for you if I could put it into a book it would be a book that would be one of the best books that someone could ever read because the chapters of that book would entail a love story of romance that would be so beautiful it would make you cry so Jen is feeling like Sam's words are lacking substance and ultimately this has thrown her off so she ends the night without handing out a group date Rose thankfully though Jen has an easygoing dat with Jeremy next and honestly Sam's downfall is Jeremy's gain as now it seems like there's a HomeTown spot up for grabs that previously was easily going to Sam and here these two are going to be exploring the Pike Place Market making bouay getting their palms red then covering those Palms in fish guts and catching some fish by hand also Jeremy can do the worm like really well then at the night portion of the date Jeremy at no point calls fantasy sweets aggressive or blabber nonsensically until he blurts out and I love you no instead he talks about having Jewish Buddhist babies with Jen because his Jewish Heritage is important to him and also what it would be like to bring Jen home so sorry Sam that spot that was surely yours has just been usurped as Jen pulls out a rose and we now have two Hometown spots filled up but as we move on to a new day Jen while getting ready has been stewing and stewing over all this Sam stuff so much so she wants to go and address it immediately how are you feeling um terrified as you should be now Sam doubles down and says yes he meant to say I love you so Jen pushes once more what is it about her that makes him so certain he's in love with her and well Sam just throws his whole foot in his mouth there's other people there with the same characteristics of you hey how do I know this how do I know that like I feel like you're looking at me waiting for this like these answers with words sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going I just hope I find it along the way like an improv conversation well Sam starts to mumble more about energy and ferocious love and Jen is going I learned that you yearn for love that's so powerful that's endless you're like pouring into my emotional part what the hell is it mean and when all of this endless jabbering gets nowhere Sam begins to malfunction and goes back to this and now I see it I love you oh man he is crashing and burning in a bad way so Jen is like one I don't believe you two I'm not going to teach you what love is since you clearly have no clue and three this is starting to remind me of some less than ideal relationships I've had in the past so Time to Say Goodbye and this is the part where normally I'd put in a Deadpool meme saying bye bye-bye to Sam as he packs his bags home but I have a 3 and a half-year-old so we didn't go and see that movie and instead went to see Harold in the Purple Crayon so enjoy a meme from that what were you thinking oh no honestly I I don't do a lot of thinking true you know it sucks but the energy that she brought was very dull it's not my fault oh a moment you loved her but now she's dull you know what hit the meme anyway so with that all that's left now is to get to the Rose ceremony where two roses and two Hometown spots are left one of course is earm marked for Devin but the last one comes down to either Jonathan Grant or Spencer Jonathan so there you have have it we've got our four Hometown spots as Spencer and Grant go home Spencer for one takes it really hard and calls his mom hi baby hey oh my gosh what does this mean um I'm getting sent home Grant however has a lot to look forward to as ABC has announced he's the next Bachelor just like that put out there online right after the show with the same amount of thought and care as I'm about to put into the end of this video Okay bye so that's it for this recap of The
