Putin is in North Korea for a meeting with its leader and it is a meeting the US officials are watching closely Rebecca Caster has more North Korea rolling out the red carpet for Russian President Vladimir Putin as he arrives in pongyang Tuesday for a two-day visit his first to the isolated nation in 24 years and one US officials are watching closely we're not concerned about the trip what we are concerned about is the deepening relationship between these two countries us officials say North Korea is supplying the Russian military with ballistic missiles and other Munitions for its war in Ukraine and they expect Putin will ask for more during his visit they need North Korea artillery to carry on their war in Ukraine and for that they're willing to trade not only military technology and intelligence but they're also going to confer uh diplomatic to top cover on North Korea ahead of his arrival Putin published an oped in North Korean State media thanking Kim Jong-un for supporting his actions in Ukraine
