[Applause] I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now I want to live my new life that I've been building Cry Your Heart Out Adele fans the singer has announced she's taking a break and rumor has it it's going to be a long one on August 31st the 36-year-old wrapped up her mini residency in Munich Germany delivering an emotional speech at the end revealing she'll be taking some time away from her music I'd like to thank you you so much for coming to my show this evening I would like everyone who's come to any one of my shows ever thank you so much for coming um I am I'm not the most comfortable performer I know that but I am very good at it and I have really enjoyed performing for nearly 3 years now which is the longest I've ever done and probably the longest I will ever do um but I am I have 10 shows left after this back in my residency cuz I was poorly um earlier on the year so those got to and obviously everything was supposed to supposed to be my last show um I'm thrilled that it's not um because I still have um and exactly five weeks of shows cuz you know it's like weekends and stuff like that and 10 shows to do um but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole next of my break and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I've done over the last three years and I really really hold them in the bottom of my heart forever it has been amazing I just need a rest and I have spent I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now I want to live my new life that I've been building and I will miss you terribly and I will see some of you I'm sure some of you will end up being in Vegas I wouldn't put it past you but I am I will remember these shows for eternity in Her speech she mentions the remaining shows she has left are ones that were postponed because of her health back in March Adele took a week's long break to prioritize her health at the time she shared with fans on Instagram writing sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again and unfortunately it's all taking a toll on my voice and so on doctor's orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly those shows were rescheduled for dates in October and November and will close out the Vegas residency now Adele is looking forward to some time off that she's sure to spend with some loved ones she shares 11-year-old son Angelo with ex-husband Simon keki and her relationship to sports agent Rich Paul appears to be going strong back in August during one of her shows in Munich she seemingly confirmed her engagement to Paul after reading a fan sign asking if she would marry them she chly said will you marry me I can't marry you cuz I'm already getting married the couple has been linked since July of 2021 [Music]
