The weather is autumnal and we heard it will be very wet. We may not get quite as much down as forecast. Hopefully it will continue to snow in the Alps so that the expected flooding will be delayed. It is raining very intensely in Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland today. A lot of water with a risk of flooding could come to us via the Elbe and Oder . Let's look at the details: Autumn has taken hold, and in the Alps it's already winter. No wonder, because cool air is coming to us from the north, while two low pressure areas have formed over the Mediterranean. Here cold air meets warmer air, resulting in significant amounts of precipitation. Due to the 5b weather situation, there will be heavy rainfall, especially in the mountains. The heaviest rainfall today will occur in Austria, Slovakia and Poland. In our case it will mainly affect the southeast and east, but only with intense rain. It continues to snow in the Alps and there will also be some rain in Berlin in the afternoon. From Lake Constance to the coast it will be cloudy and unstable. People on the edge of the Alps have to prepare for heavy rain that could last for several days. Further west, from Lake Constance to the coast, there will be short showers, thunderstorms and some sunshine in between. At the edge of the Alps, temperatures remain at a maximum of 7°C, while in Hamburg they reach 10°C more with some sunshine. At the weekend, the low pressure in the Mediterranean will bring more rain, especially in the east and south. In southeastern Bavaria there is a risk of continuous rain with 80 to 100 liters per square meter. There is a risk of flooding on the Elbe and Oder , while the west and north expect friendlier weather. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it won't be as bad as expected, but we know the weather can change at short notice.
