Spencer Schwellenbach & Brian Snitker Recap Dominant Outing vs. Philadelphia Phillies, Rookie Season

[Music] I'm sure they all feel good but when you get this time of year and you kind of know where the postseason race is is it add a little adrenaline out there oh for sure I mean that one felt really good yeah your V was up just a tick I mean you you obviously feel strong at this point in the season even though you've never been in this point in the season right have any yeah I think I've thrown maybe twice as many as I had last year and I feel really good like um Ball's coming out good feel feel good so yeah it's all I can ask for what was the Scout report on these guys I know that you threw a little bit more of slid cball tonight yeah the curveball has been actually working really well for me the last couple weeks and um I kind of just try to do what I did last time with them the same Scouting Report Harper and schwarber in the lineup this time around but watching the last couple games they struggled with curveballs and that's where I first set bat to schwarber I I didn't throw any good ones uh but later in the in the game that's kind of what I leaned on against them I I know you know you belong up here but to have two performances like that against a good team like them how much confidence does that give you yeah it definitely gives me a lot of conf confidence um I have confidence every time I throw um but after one like that you got your team behind you too it makes feel really good you consciously you retired like a 19 in a row had point there uh I knew I hadn't given up a runner since the first I didn't wasn't really counting but man I really wanted that last one just got to squeeze the glove and come up with that ground ball but yeah it was fun how satisfying is it when you you're that efficient and you know you know your counts at you know 70 after five or wherever and you know you can get into the seventh inning how much satisfaction does that keep yeah that quick inning um whether it was the fifth or sixth that was huge um we love quick Innings that allowed me to get into the seventh there um but just just pounding the Zone trying to get quick outs you know try to get into the seventh eighth every time I pitch for you know I know coming into the season a lot of got people weren't expecting you to be the you have do you feel like you're I know you're always pushing you know you never want to get comfortable but do you feel like you're you know an established member of this rotation now the way you been pitching getting into six and seven I think yeah I mean that was kind of my mindset right when they called me up was that we need a guy I'm going to be that guy um just having that mindset staying confident it's kind of all I can do for myself you guys got that bad Riley news Monday to do this over three games against a good team how I guess how impressive was this to see everybody contribute on a week series like this yeah I mean just unfortunately it's the next guy up it's kind of How It's been for us all year um but we're going to go play the same game every time out regardless of who we're playing regardless of who we have out in the field um just kind of our mindset what about the the play you're getting from the guys that join the team midseason to for them to be that slick in the INF field especially oh plays yeah I mean Gio's looked incredible last three games in the infield and you know what you're going to get from wit um good second baseman he been playing really well for us U just really nice when you've seen you allall work so hard over these last couple months what's the Elation you guys feel for him his teammates when he puts one out like that oh it feels really good especially for him um I mean he crushed that ball I mean he's had a bunch of 107 mph hits that have come up short on the warning track somehow um but for that one to go out was was huge for us I ended up being the the run that won us a game anything else thank you thanks go ahead we keep asking you about schel boach does it keep impressing you with stepping up in these big games like this no it's it's just really impressive how he goes about it and how he handles himself and the situations and the games in the pressure of the games or whatever doesn't seem to bother him at all puts a couple guys on there in the first inning and then just gets on a roll pretty quick just he has a strike zone you know he might get away from it from Peri you know different periods but his assortment is really good too you know and he can throw them all for strikes how happy were you for Adam to see him have that moment it's good yeah especially it's we needed that run you guys haven't seen a lot of left-handers for two months now just to take advantage yeah it's great well just you know he stays ready and continues to hit and now I think we see two out of the next three so um we talk about doubling up turn and then they did it again tonight I know so I told wh I was like you guys keep you know doing this is really good I mean those are really nice plays I mean just strong from you know the start to finish both guys what did yall seen early on when you kind of play around a little bit try to flush out the rotation and oh no he he's been impressive from the get-go and the fact that he throws strikes you know he's got secondary pitches um you know and he doesn't it's his velocity stays the G whole game you know I because he uses all of his pitches um but you know you seem still late in the game with and he's not losing velocity on his his fast ball is still quick and gets on top of hitters um but you know the sword he got a lot of pitches and he throws them all for strikes and they're all you know really really good you know quality pitches and and um I think just the fact that he throws strikes is huge and and you know and he controls the running game he feels his position you know he does all those little things that winning pitchers do he gets that deep in the game allows you to do your Bullpen the way you want to use it yeah you know it's big out of Piers too I mean um you know Joe wasn't available tonight and and uh you know it's just Pierce's curveball plays like you know if he's getting that thing over against anybody my satisfying is to see how your team played after a rough Monday yeah no it was yeah um it's great to see how they rallied around this this series and you know we got another big series starting tomorrow they're all big now all the games are big none are any more important than the others because it's just about winning game so um you know hopefully it can W and have a good weekend I was pretty athletic out there in rightfield yeah no we knew that coming in I mean that's what they were saying in Gwynette when he was there that because he played a lot of center field but he said he was really playing really well and right so you know shair comes back it depend on who we put he might have to move it's been a couple months since Iggy's allowed and earn run how much comfort does I give you when that's your bullet a lot I mean I have a lot of confidence in Iggy he's been very efficient um throwing really good and and uh you know his stuff is is kind of playing up too I mean he he's you know throw even when he went the two innings and then save the game the next day I mean the stuff's been really really good all right okay thanks [Music] oh
