Pastor Eric J. Goode, “We are getting what we deserve”

this is the day that the Lord has made we rejoice and are glad therein Reverend Dr tiller God bless you sir to all these gospel Proclaimers the Gospel of Luke chapter 23 verse 41 and we indeed have be been condemned justly for we are getting what we deserve that's all I want we're getting what we deserve we're getting what we what we deserve beloved I love Jesus I I just love Jesus how about you I I I just love Jesus I'm going tell you why I love Jesus because Jesus hangs out with everybody aren't you glad about that beloved I said Jesus hangs out with everybody if you read the beam of biblical Revelation you will discover in the gospels that Jesus hung out with everybody hung out with the woman with the issue of blood I'm just trying to tell you he hung out with everybody hung out with zakus he hung out with everybody he hung out beloved with the with Mary Magdalene who had seven demons I'm just trying to tell you he hung out with everybody he hung out with that blind man barus he hung out with everybody is there somebody here tonight that can thank God that Jesus hangs out with hangs out with everybody beloved in fact tonight that's the reason why many of you are here in this Sanctuary because Jesus decided to hang out with can I get somebody here that can just get Hallelujah happy and thank you Jesus glad that we have a Jesus who hangs out with us and so we see this in this text tonight uh in this text Jesus is hanging between two thieves one on the right one on the left but Jesus in the middle say that again Jesus is hanging between two thieves one on the right one on the left but Jesus in the middle I said just one more time I said Jesus is hanging between two thieves one on the right one on the left but Jesus in the middle by implication what that simply suggests to us is this that Jesus ought to be in the middle of everything can the church shout hallelujah can I said Can the church shout hallelujah I said Jesus ought to be in the middle of everything cuz he is the image of the invisible God the firstborn of all creation for by him all things are created that are in heaven that are in Earth under the Earth and he is the head of the church the body that he might have the free Eminence I'm trying to tell you Jesus is in the center of it all can I get somebody right here can somebody testify on tonight that Jesus is the center of my joy and all that is good and perfect comes from you you are the heart of my contentment the hope for all I do Jesus is the center of my joy got to move beloved he's hanging between two thieves and one the one says to Jesus uh he says listen if you are the Messiah I've been hearing a lot of talk about you but if you are who you claim you are come on down from this cross uh save yourself and save us uh look listen at this the arrogance of this first Thief uh listen at his arrogance as he says listen I heard you say that you could call down a legion of angels uh and they will come at your beckoning I heard that you said no one takes your life uh you lay it down that you may pick it up again I heard you talk all this stuff but so if you are the Christ save us and save yourself [Applause] but I hear but but but watch this Jesus set a leadership example Jesus does not say anything to the first man which reminds me for all of those who always talking about your haters always got to respond to folk you ain't got to answer [Applause] everybody can the church shout hallelujah I said Can the church shout hallelujah you w have to answer everybody note the text note the text note the text note the text but uh God will always have somebody who will speak for you I get a witness in here I said God will always have somebody who will speak for you here you have here you have the second criminal ain't never been to no Sunday school ain't never been to no theological institution you have a second Thief has never been to an 11:00 service he ain't Baptist ain't Methodist ain't AMD he's not Apostolic he's not Pentecostal he's a thief he's a criminal but yet he sees Jesus and says there's something different about [Applause] him I got 2 minutes and 42 seconds he says don't you realize man you don't know what you're talking about we deserve what we're getting we we we we are getting our our our punishment fixs our crime but this man has done nothing wrong he is an innocent man and aren't you glad Bel beloved that we have a Jesus who had done nothing he knew no sin neither was that God found in his mouth and the man said to Jesus since there's something different about you I need you to remember me when you get into your kingdom this remembering has nothing to do about something weigh down eschatologically but he says listen Lord when you get into your kingdom remember me and I need to know is there any body in here that can just testify I just need Jesus can I get somebody in here that can testify I need Jesus because I can't help myself I need Jesus because I got some issues that I cannot fix I need Jesus because I got some problems that if I if God don't get in it I'm going to mess up can somebody testify Lord remember me [Applause] 1 minute 1 minute and 5 seconds Jesus says today somebody shout today somebody shout today would simply suggest he says to the man listen you ain't got to wait for the sweep by and by but the moment since you confess me you have eternal life right now can somebody thank God right now that you are saved can somebody thank God that your past has been forgiven you've been Justified you've been adopted in the Beloved you've been sealed until the day of redemption look at somebody and say I'm saved and there's nothing that can happen to me that'll get me out of God's head can somebody shout yes will the Lord remember me when I am called to Glory he will will he will he will he will he will remember me shout up [Applause] yeah
