11th Pick: Fantasy Football Mock Draft Best Ball Edition!

hey there guys it's uh Jimmy Maverick here we're doing another best ball draft uh I love best PA man I've done like I swear I've done like over 50 drafts this off season um but uh you know just continue to work on the strategy uh actually went very well today I ended up not taking any uh I didn't take any of the League quarterbacks instead I got myself three quarterbacks after round eight so that allowed me for a different kind of build here uh I really like it I think it's a really solid build all around uh but anyway take a look at it let me know what you think let's do this all right guys how you doing it's Jimmy Maverick we are going to be doing a best ball draft right now I love best ball again it doesn't require any inseason management uh you just draft your team those players score points the ones that score the most points are your starters okay so it looks like we've got this thing full I am going to be picking 11th again this the second time okay um so anyway we're going to use uh 16 rounds plus to help us pick players that's this app that I have on the right hand side of the screen and uh so I invite you to go there check it out um all you have to do is answer three questions to get it set up and so uh first question is how's your leag score points we have a special beste ball mode with custom rankings for beste ball players do you want to engage the counselor's recommended player filters no we want to see all the players and then we just need to put in that we are doing a 12 team League pick 11 and let's go ahead and ENT draft mode so what this does is this breaks down the top 250 list based on um and and puts those players into little pods so I'm looking at the first this first and second round pick we're looking at all the players between pick one two and pick 34 with a little bit of overlap on each side but instead of players being sorted by their um by their ADP they're sorted by their Cy scores so Cy is how we rate players it stands for consistency upside durability depth chart and youth uh those players earn points those points are added up it's typically a score between zero and 100 but it can go over a 100 occasionally especially in the best ball mode just the just based on the way that we adjusted how the points are scored um we also uh have adjusted the Cy score for best ball so that it doesn't include consistency because consistency doesn't matter in best ball in fact inconsistent players can be more beneficial for your team as they are more volatile and again on the weeks that they go off you'll get those points and in the weeks that they don't they'll sit on your bench a player like George KD is the perfect example of a best ball player it's a player I would never select in a managed league but in best ball he's a viable choice so uh what this thing is doing is it's giving you recommendations it is recommending for the first round Chris olave Isaiah Pacheko and jir Gibbs uh we also have at the top of the list here players that may or may not make it to us bejan Robinson AJ Brown Garrett Wilson Bree Hall if any of those players made it to us I would take them but I don't expect them to make it it's less than a 50-50 shot so we're going to go with the ones that are most likely to make it to us now I wouldn't mind taking jir Gibbs with one of our first two picks I know he has fallen a bit um on the draft board uh because uh you know because he's dealing with that hamstring issue but there's only three running backs that I think really have legendary upside this year uh and that would be bejan Robins Bree Hall and jir Gibbs and I just love the offense that Detroit is this year and I think they're going to be really huge so it is almost to us uh AJ Brown and Garrett Wilson are both still on the board so that is very encouraging um you can see here it's also recommending players like Mike Evans Drake London Derrik Henry these are these are all good choices some are better choices for the second round and and this includes both the first and second round picks saquan Barkley Josh Allen you know these these are all players we have to consider but I really think we're pretty much looking at the top three of the most likely players to make it one pick to us so let's see here and puku oh so Garrett Wilson is still there you know what I do consider Garrett Wilson one of the elite six uh wide receivers this year so I'm going to go ahead and take him and because this his best ball that means I'm also going to try to Target Aaron Rogers who is available very late in the draft so that's that's great so let's um so now for for pick number two I I would be interested in you know I mean we've got a whole bunch of recommends here and that's the thing when you start out a lot of the players are recommends as you go through round by round there's less and less less and less of the recommended players so there's lots of really good options that we have to choose from but let's see who makes it back to us um again if jir Gibbs makes it he made it okay he I love this I don't think I've ever gotten jir Gibbs in the second round but I'm going to take it I'm going to take the injury discount I understand it's just a minor sprain he should be fine we still have two full weeks so I'm not too worried about it but to start off with Garrett Wilson and jir Gibbs that's a that's a great start there we go so you guys can see what's going on gez I I should have done that immediately I apologize but uh anyway so let's look at the let's let's go to the third fourth round so you just click the forward Arrow to go to the next round of picks and they are combined together cuz they are so close together the 11th and 12th and the first and second are like that but on the other you know three through 10 it's going to be each individual round is going to have its own group of players but you can see here it's recommending for the third and fourth round Josh Jacobs Rashad white Z flowers those are all really nice choices um because it's his best ball I've have been following a specific strategy where I go five wide receivers in the first seven picks so if I do go with another running back um and either the third or fourth pick that means I'm going to go 567 it's going to be wide receiver wide receiver wide receiver all right so that's kind of how I'm I'm working it uh I do want to look at the wide receivers most likely to make it to us and again there are some good options here I love Z flowers uh that would also give us an inside track to take um Lamar Jackson uh who I have a lot of shares of but I like them and that's a thing you want to do uh we we want to Stack all of our top receivers with their quarterbacks so you have to like the quarterback in order to take the wide receiver and you have to be able to get that that quarterback when the time comes you know Lamar Jackson is like a fourth round pick actually we can look here is Lamar Jackson on the list here he is so if we want you know Lamar Jackson would not make it back to us for our next round of picks so we would need to take him with our fourth overall pick that would bypass the ability to take a second running back as well so these are all part of the Strategic things you have to look at but um other wide receivers here we've got uh Rashi rice we got Calvin Ridley oh there's some really good options here man gez Calvin Ridley and that would get us you know Calvin Ridley would would uh we would pair up um with Will Levis um you know rashy rice would have to be Mahomes though so if I took rashy rice that means I would have to grab momes with my fourth round pick uhum uming he makes it right which he should he should make it to us at this point uh let's see what else do we got we got like Devon Smith DK map those guys are long shots not really interested in them Jaden Reed George Pickins um George Pickins where is Jaden Reed Jaden Reed and so what what I got is I'm I'm just working my queue over here you know I've got I've got the draft board of available players and I'm just I'm just working my queue and I love to just fill it up with all the players that I like because it helps prevent tunnel Vision right and and you know again there are some good uh running backs we should be able to get look at Josh Jacobs Rashad white Kenneth Walker Travis ettien uh we got a bunch of guys look at all these guys are on contract year Rashad white Kenneth Walker Travis eten that's what the little dollar sign means there's Joe Mixon he's dealing with an injury I'm I'm I don't draft injured well I say I don't draft injured players but then I drafted Jamir Gibbs that's just what what I'm doing right now but uh uh you know the these these are all just general rules that I try to follow on most uh on most games but I I I do like having jir Gibbs I think he's going to be excellent this year in an really really good top notch off topnotch offense so but you can see here the reason why you need to to focus early on wide receivers is because of the board when you look at the board like this um it's a lot of wide receivers coming off look we have I don't even think we've had 12 running backs come off one two three four five six seven eight yeah we only had 10 running backs come off so that's why you can wait on running back in this sort of a format and go early on the wide receivers to try to get as many as you can um but I'm really happy with how this thing has started out this is really great um you know again if I go Z flowers or Rashi rice it's just going to be I'm GNA have to take the quarterback in the fourth round CU I don't think that yeah none of them are going to make it back to me none of them are going to make it back to pick 9 that's that's pretty well known at this point so uh why don't I go you know what I think I might want to I might I'm G to try to I'm I want to do a build here that I haven't done yet we'll see if I can make it happen here but uh rashy rice and Patrick Mahomes I really like that um you know get those two together Raji rice was kind of off my list for a majority of this drafting season but now it looks like that the the the suspension isn't going to come through this year it'll probably come through next year I'm all in man I'm in on I'm in on Rashi I think he's going to be great so you know he is a risky pick you got to acknowledge that there there is the chance that he could um he could get the suspension mid year that would suck but um but let's go ahead let's just do that man and then what we're going to do is 5 six seven wide receivers so so uh that we'll we'll look at what options we have oh jeez of course he took that of course he did so we still have the option we can take Z flowers here which means I'd have to take Lamar Jackson which I I'm not really super thrilled with so you know what I'm going to do I'm GNA go off book here I'm gonna go Calvin Ridley and then I think I'm going to go Jaden Reed now that means I would have to take Jordan love pick 93 okay that's outside okay so this is this this is great okay so I can take um let me just look at the wide receivers that are still on the board flowers is still there this a little risky I'm gonna I'm gonna take a risk that perhaps perhaps Lamar Jackson will make it back to me if he does that's great I just you know I was going to take Jaden Reed I'm not really as big on Jaden Reed as I had been earlier in the season kind of faded him a little bit in favor of um dos but uh I think it's just I just like Z flowers way more see look at that of course the quarterbacks start coming off of course they do I don't think Lamar Jackson's gonna make make it back even if he doesn't that's fine I I then means I have Z flowers just by himself but definitely will Levis and Aaron Rogers are two Targets for my quarterbacks late so we we'll do that and uh let's just go to the 56 round look at what wide receivers are there okay now here got some ones I want to get definitely get some more uh more shares of uh Brian Thomas you know again it does come down to to these rookies Keon Coleman Jaden Reed's a long shot so he might still make it to us which means we could still go with the build for um for Jordan love that that would be cool Deontay Johnson's dealing with an injury I don't really like to like I said I don't like to draft injured wide receivers I don't know how severe the injury is but it is making me back off of him um Christian Kirk's a long shot not really interested in him courland Sutton uh that is another player I would be interested in uh let's see here courland Sutton there he is that'd be very early you can see these little hands down here that means it's a reach um which means there's a chance he could make it to the following set of rounds so I don't really like to take reaches unless they're right at the top of the list if they're right at the top I'm like okay I'll I'll take them early cuz I don't want to miss out on that but um you know otherwise uh I'm good with that and and right now I got 10 players in the queue so I'm just happy as a clan there's there's just a bunch to operate on we haven't even looked at some of the other players so for running backs on this next round um Rashad white Kenneth wat these guys are still available here for the fifth sixth round again that's why you can wait that's why you can wait on running backs in these sort of formats um we got Samir White there's zamir white Joe Mixon I'll put Joe Mixon on there um even though he's dealing with the injury Nagi not really interested in nii although his situation is a little bit better with the Jaylen Warren injury but he's just not that good uh roadreading a risky pick and he's a long shot so that's what the yellow triangle means around the Cy score uh those are risky picks the little red stop signs are do not draft so don't draft Kamar don't draft James Conor those guys don't score well at all uh if they have a green circle that's a recommend so those are the kind of players you want to Target on each round and uh but obviously I I tried to go for the highest rated player in each round and you can see here that you know guys like Rashad white and Kenneth Walker look at that great value for the fifth sixth round just fantastic zamir white is a good value Joe mixon's Great Value Naji Harris is good any any bad ones here oh yeah David Montgomery is poor value again he's still a recommend but you know that that's that's a risk but again great offense you know and if you want to um if if you want to protect your jir Gibbs investment that would be the way to go I don't usually get my direct uh I don't focus on my direct handcuffs but I like to grab other teams handcuffs for what I consider especially the most vulnerable and injury-prone players right so so if if if the if the starter gets injured I want to grab the backup if if I think they have a high probability there's Jaylen Warren again he's a reach but he's injured again kind of staying away from him if we looked at wide receivers this I'm sorry tight ends Jake Ferguson George KD Kyle pittz again George KD again the perfect example of a beste ball player and you'll see in baseball mode there's this little uh blue box with a BB on it that's a beste ball player uh those are players I like for beste ball but if you pulled them up on on another list on one of the manag lists uh the you know the half PPR the full PPR list uh you will see that he's much lower rated in those sort of things because his consistency is just awful it's terrible but he's got a huge ceiling so that's you know again you're playing to the best ball thing there we're we we can get one more player in the next three rounds that is not a wide receiver so uh you know we could go and get our rb2 that seems like a decent Choice oh it looks like um Rashad white just came on okay but Kenneth Walker is still on the board zamir White's still there we'll see what's H we'll see what happens here we're gonna go through six rounds here but I hope you can see the oh and there goes Lamar Jackson oh well that's too bad uh you know but you know I see here that George Pickins and Jaden Reed are both still on the board again if I go George Pickins I could grab you know I don't know if I would grab Russell Wilson I might go you know you know I might go for um oh why am I drawing a blank on his name I'm I might go for Fields that'd be a good beste ball play right uh so and again that's another guy I can get super super late so um this would be a kind of a build where I can wait a long time to take my quarterbacks and focus on other positions uh let's see here who else is on the board still oh of course Kenneth Walker just came off darn it Mixon is still there and I do like the situation for Mixon as far as the offense and everything you know it's it's a good situation um any other running backs here that I'm interested in not really I mean there is Montgomery here right we could do that but it's still two picks to us see what happens happens Mark Andrews comes off Dalton King Kade just came off okay so um Jaden Reed is still there Brian Thomas is still there uh let's see for quarterbacks is this one I have to take love loves a reach I'm gonna take Jaden Reed I'm glad I didn't take him last round again he was he was a reach last round and I just couldn't convince myself to do that uh but it is saying that we do need to take Jordan well says Jordan love should make it saying you'll make it to the seventh round so why don't we just grab another wide receiver and that givs us our five so I could take briyan Thomas Keon Coleman Deontay Johnson courland Sutton those are all guys that are on the board um there's some other players I'm not really interested in Keenan Allen older godwins at two Odun I don't really like the receiver room there but let's I'm going to take Brian Thomas I wanted to get more Brian Thomas on my league so I've I've got my five wide receivers so this is great so I'm set five wide receiver ones and I can get well I can get four of the quarterbacks and hopefully love will make it back to us uh we'll we'll we'll see what happens but it's saying here that they should make it and so that's great so um uh why don't we just we'll we'll just run it through the seventh round to see if they make it to us but it looks like there's a high probability that he will make it to us there's still three quarterbacks in front CJ strad Kyler Murray Joe burrow so that's great um so if we look at the seventh and eighth round you can see here it's recommending Romeo dobs Tai Spears Gus Edwards so again we we haven't taken our our running back uh you know our running back two yet zamir white is a long shot and Tai we got Tai we got Gus Edwards I'm just going to Mark some of these guys off on my on my que so um let's see here where are you there's Tai Gus Edwards this right there who else is recommended offense has looked really good this preseason that doesn't mean anything but there could be something there Jonathan Brooks is injured not really uh targeting him Jaylen Warren I'm gonna I'm backing off of him also because of his injury I'm just staying away plus we're already we already got jir Gibs I don't want to take any more injured uh injured running backs DeAndre Swift's a risky pick Zach Moss that's a decent Choice let's see here where's Zach Moss there's Zach Moss Tony po a risky pick all right and let's look at the wide receivers we got Romeo dos who again that's the guy I've really been taken from Green Bay and I'm you know I don't think I'm going to go that route though I've already got enough wide receivers for right now I got to focus on my other positions uh what about uh what about the tight ends what tight ends are available on this round uh oh there's some good ones man look at that Ferguson still there Bowers and joku engram's there too I don't um you know I'll put engram is probably the least likely to make it to me he's right at the top of the list but uh anyway there's some decent options there Ferguson I like that it's a contract year for him oh but he's a long shot he might not make it to us a long shot means it's a less than a 50-50 shot he would make it to us okay so you can see Kyler Murray and CJ Strat have come off the board uh so sweating a little bit now with Jordan love cuz Jordan love only Joe burrow is ahead of uh Jordan love right now but they're way farther down the draft board so I'm thinking they're probably going to get ignored uh but but you know the app is making calculations and projections and telling you when you need to Target players uh and it's it's pretty good it's pretty good about knowing when you need to uh when you need to Target a player what round and giving you the heads up with the with the reaches said hey you know if you really want this player you probably want to take him early right that's what the reaches are there for but uh yeah Jordan love I mean our next pick is 83 Jordan Love's typically going around uh 0p of 87 so we should be totally fine here um the ADP actually on the board here is 93 so we should be fine but uh I love that getting that stack and then we can get ourselves our running back two like maybe radr would be a good choice if he makes it to us Keon Coleman courland Sutton are still on the board as far as wide receivers go but again I'm I'm moving away from wide receivers because we've got our five to start and I'll get like maybe two more during the rest of this draft that's basically how it's going to work but I just wanted to see if I actually can get Jordan love here and that would be uh very exciting and would set me up very well for the rest of this draft and again we'll we'll get Aaron roders we'll get will Levis boom you know I mean I I'll be I'll be very happy I always go for three quarterbacks by the way I know you can sometimes go with two especially if you get yourself an elite quarterback but every time I've taken two quarterbacks I inevitably end up with a situation where both quarterbacks are out um and that just kills you in bestas ball just kills you your points so oh look Rand R he's not making it back to us he got taken but uh anyway this is uh yeah this is going pretty good here so um there goes Keon Coman in the seventh round see again uh that he he's been a very popular pick for me in the seventh round um uh all those rookies you know the Brian Thomas lad makoni Keon Coleman uh those guys oh and Xavier worthy th those guys are great to take in in this range you know I'm confident with all of them so all right three picks to me let's see if we can pull this off uh I see that uh Samir White is still on the board so he would probably be my choice for my rb2 and then we circle around we grab Jordan love at pick 86 we should be good see here and of course with Brian Thomas I could also take Trevor Lawrence which I've I don't think I've taken any Trevor Lawrence I've been so out on him this year but in best ball I I would have to consider taking him given the fact that I did take Brian Thomas so again you want you want your top three wide receivers to be paired with their quarterbacks and in this case that would be Garrett Wilson Calvin rley and Z flowers but the Z flowers one didn't work out it was a long shot anyway all right one pick to us so uh yeah and Corin Sutton still there all right let's go ahead let's take zamir and then hopefully this guy doesn't screw me of course Joe burrow is also still on the board so I've got a little bit of a buffer here to Jordan love but uh let's just see if if he makes this happen yes okay great so we got it we got it we got Jordan love so we got our first stack we got our two running backs we got five Elite wide receiver ones it's great it's great beginning I'm really happy with with how this went um I am uh going to go I'm going to pause this video we'll come back to the Y I'll let you know if I did get my quarterbacks and when I got them uh but that's basically how the app works man it's it's like I said it's just a little side-by-side tool you just uh run it just off to the side as you're doing your drafts and it gives you lots of important information it gives you the heads up lets you know about when you need to Target players what round and it's pretty good with letting you know when you need to take a player you know and so you don't miss out on them so anyway thank you very much watching the Rogers in the 12th and I got will Levis in the 14th round that went along with Jordan love who I got in the eighth round so that's really great I got all three after round eight um I also really stacked this one up man I I my target is usually three to five players stacked with my quarterbacks I stacked six so um you know I've got Garrett Wilson uh I've got Calvin Ridley Jaden Reed let's see here who else uh Tai Spears uh let's see here Tyler Conklin and uh Tucker craft all all stacked with my quarterback so that's the that's a little bit I I overdid it there I actually missed one of my last picks and I ended up autopicking Tucker craft uh but anyway uh like I said went really well I really like this build I think it's a it's a solid build and we got some nice upside offenses here so
